We decided to stay here as going to our son's football game at Moorpark college and got a place to stay last minute. It was not cheap for Labor Day weekend on a Saturday night. It is next to Motel 6 right off of highway 118. It looks like a small hotel/large motel. Reception is friendly and informative. We got regular king bed room on 1st floor for two people, as we came to stay without our two children. Here is a list of the good and the bad: Good: 1) Right off highway 118 yet rooms still quiet 2) Has a nice pool yet can barely hear noise from outside when in your room. 3) Flat screen TV with nice selection of TV shows. 4) Great variety FREE breakfast with oatmeal and condiments; scrambled egg/sausage/ Jimmy Dean pre-made sandwiches with ham and egg and cheese for warm breakfast options; pancakes; bagels with different spread options; yogurt; cereals; milk and juice and coffee options; pastries; bottles water.. and more in a nice area on 1st floor. 4) Easy parking around property. 5) Rooms are clean and nice bathroom with walk in shower. 6) Fair amount of space in room in room . Bad or not so great: 1) Bed mattress very hard! I like firm beds, yet this is extreme! I would need to bring a significant featherbed topper or large plush blanket to place on the mattress and sleep on that, as it felt like I was sleeping on slightly 'soft' concrete. It was. Wet difficult to sleep on that. 2) Breakfast is free, yet scrambled eggs were bland and looked like they came from a box and Jimmy Dean sandwiches a huge let down as also bland. 3) It would be fair to say that it felt like a slightly nicer motel than a hotel, and despite Labor Day weekend and free breakfast, very expensive for what you get. 4) We parked close to room area, yet despite direct easy access from our room to our parking spot, no access from parking to area to get into the room and had to go through lobby. So.... My main issue was the bed... SO UNCOMFORTABLE!!!! Not cheap so this was a problem for me. Will be weary of staying here again due to that.

Had to leave a review for a place I became comfortable with. like most people in the beginning I was skeptical about staying at a Motel 6. it does definitely get a bad reputation but after stumbling across this particular one because of a last minute decision a became my go to place in Simi Valley! it is a typical Motel 6 so if you're looking for luxury this is not the place for you but if you want a nice clean place to sleep and an good environment with wonderful staff you can't go wrong! from the beginning All of the staff made me feel comfortable and welcomed. I am a very picky person and have a lot of extra Concerns and request and they are always met with the smile! from the maids to management They make you feel at home and do their best to take care of your every need. The property is also really clean. just like any other property there are those days where things don't always go as planned rowdy guests etc.. but from what I've seen they do a good job of keeping this property up and safe. you should give it a try and see for your self! I've been staying here every time Im in Simi valley for the last 6 to 7 months haven't left yet!

I stayed here after coming back from a work trip. I had to checkout a day early due to a family emergency. I gave my key cards to the front desk and was told nothing additional was needed and that I would be emails my receipt. I ended up leaving my necklace in the room and called the same day to have someone retrieve it. Since I did not hear back, I drove to the hotel the following morning. I was told I had not checked and was given a key to go into the room to look for my necklace. I was unable to open the door. I went back to the front desk twice. Finally the key card worked. When I opened the door I realized someone else had stayed in the room and my necklace was not there. They had left the room a mess and had left a few things in the room. I spoke to the front desk manager Carlos and he did not seem concerned. He asked me to call back once the general manager arrived. I had explain the situation again and again he also did not seem concern. This has been the worst customer service experience of my life. And the total disregard for the fact the their system is unable to detect who else entered the room after I left is truly concerning. The only silver lining is that my necklace was turned into the front desk. I would never stay here again and recommend that you do not either. The pictures attached are of the mess the other person left. It’s disappointing that there employees would do something like this and that the management do not hold them accountable. I do know how this place stays in service.

We had requested a quiet room and generally we prefer the top floor so that we don't hear people walking around. This place has a problem with their third floor. The first room we were shown faced the freeway and the on-ramp and you could hear the freeway noise. I-118 is busy all night. Then we were shown a room on the third floor and told the "fan" was a bit noisy in that room. Since we thought she was referring to the fan in the bathroom, we thought no problem, Since there was someone cleaning the carpets in the next room you couldn't hear anything. else at the time. Upon returning in he evening, we realized that the "fan" she had been talking about was equipment on the roof which was constant noise. The front desk when asked about the noise told us, "oh we get complaints about the noise in that area of the hotel." She was helpful and we ended moving to another room at the other end of the hall. It still had noise from the roof but not as bad. The entire hotel needs a major overall. The windows in all the rooms were filthy on the outside. Remote after remote were dead. My recommendation, for a few more dollars stay at another hotel. It is a one star hotel that charges like it is a 3 star. Oh and no take and go breakfast. Won't stay here again.

Check in was easy and nice staff. There were hot water issues and they called engineering and fixed it. We later found out no one had hot water, so I'm glad I called to complain. Television was in an odd spot and we couldn't get it to work. Engineering had to come fix it, too. The second night had hot water issues again. When calling front desk both nights we stayed, the phone rang for quite sometime until someone finally picked up. The last time I called, I was put on hold and I finally hung up. This hotel needs a face lift. On the positive side, it was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful in spite of all my calls with things that were broken. They treated me with concern and were helpful. Nice location, easy access to everything.

We stay in Best Western Hotels all over the country, and this is one has one of the nicest breakfasts - hands down. They offer breakfast burritos or omelets cooked by the staff. My omelet was delicious and brought to our table by a friendly staff person. There was also a good selection of fresh fruit, juices and toast. Waffles could also be ordered or you could help yourself to the buffet - sausage, eggs, bagels etc. The staff is very friendly and the room met our expectations for amenities and cleanliness. A great place to stay!

I am writing this review to inform other customers who stay here about the good, the bad, and the ugly of my experience. I personally have stayed at a lot of hotels in my life and have never experienced such a bad stay in my life. The hotel management is terrible at communication and in my opinion do not care about customer service. First let me start with the good. Overall, this place is in a great location with a lot of places to eat and visit nearby. The overall appearance of the place is clean, and the rooms were large. Now for the bad. We arrived at the hotel when it was dark out and dropped our stuff off to get something to eat and then rush off to bed. We had to attend an event the next morning very early, so our stay here was going to be very short. Upon driving home after the event later that day I was sent an email that a window was damaged in my room, and I was charged an additional $1000. I WAS SHOCKED! I immediately sent a reply email to the hotel that we didn’t know, nor did we break a window. I also called them and was told that the manager of the store wouldn’t be back till Monday, and they couldn’t do anything else for me. Now the ugly: I called the manager on Monday and was told that they would investigate it and get back to me later that day. Guess what, I never received a call. The next day I called again and was told that the manager would be in, and they took my info. Guess what, I never received a call. I also emailed the General Manager/Hotel multiple times and guess what, I never received a single reply. I did call corporate and filed a claim, but surprisingly, the hotel last week closed the ticket and said they had no proof that it was cracked before me, and it was my fault. This has been going on for several weeks now and the ticket has been reopened and now sent further up the channels to corporate for some sort of resolution and transparency on this issue. Like I said, I have traveled a lot in my life and usually look up reviews on hotels I’m going to stay at. In the case of this hotel, I discovered that other people were charged for dirty towels or smoking in their room, when they denied it. I personally don’t know if these were true, but I ultimately decided “Hey this wouldn’t happen to me” but guess what “IT DID”. Another thing I found interesting was that multiple guests said the hotel had “poor customer service” and guess what, the hotel didn’t even take the time to call me back or even let me know this happen before they charged me. They simply took my money, decided I broke it, and never heard from them again (even though I was told they would email me and call me back). In the end all I can say is “BEWARE” and if you decide to stay here make sure you inspect your room and call out every little thing, because if not you might be charged for something you didn’t do.

The hotel is nice and staff is great, but I get a feeling people live here full time (families, coup,es, singles). You say what is wrong with that? Well for one their fairly large parking lot is over flowing with cars. Parked illegally. Two, everyday outside trash can over flowing with garbage when every suite has plenty garbage cans in their rooms. It just gives this hotel a weird vibe. A lot of big dog poops everywhere, beware where you step. If people are living here it is not permanent and there is not respect for property. As a traveler I feel like an outsider that does not belong. And I hate to say it but the parking is a Huge issue.
