5.14km from Singithi Uyana4 of us visited from 20 Feb to 9th March. We originally stayed here 11 years ago, but the new owners (Aitken Spence) have certainly improved the hotel. I requested a high level room and was given one in the new block of the 5th floor. Very spacious room, with extra king sized bed, and good bathroom and shower. The view from the balcony, overloooking palm trees, beach and rolling sea and with constant sunshine is now sadly missed! The restaurant served a very varied cuisine to the extent that we only ate outside the hotel once. From curries to salads to fish to turkey, there was always a supply and the quality was as good as you will get anywhere, Our thanks to "Suni" the chef who gave us a little special attention! Also to waiters Anju and Manoj. (Yaki Dah) The guys in the Tazza bar, notably Madu and Indy, gave us great service and a laugh. (answer that phone!) Also animator Manol introduced us to "croquet" and we wish tham all good luck for the future. Our bedroom boy, (sorry but have lost your name) ( room 515) was a great chap and surprised us with bed "towel animals" the likes we have never seen before. The hotel was not full during our visit, (due to recent terrorist activities in Sri Lanka) so there was no lack of sunbeds. The pool attendants did a great job each day securing our sunbeds and parasols. We did have a couple of concerns:- After dinner in the evening, we usually went to the Twist bar area where there are comfortable chairs. However, it was always stifulling hot and the area desperately needs some circulating fans.Unfortunately, the Tazza bar which always seemed to have a slight breeze, did not have comfortable chairs, just cushioned benches with no back supports. However, the hotel offers good value for money, (certainly on all inclusive) and we have no hesitation in recommending the Turyaa. We will be returning!
