We selected Avani Kalutara Resort for our Cooperate Annual Trip for 2 days. And the service quality of entire hotel staff was top-notch. We were able to conduct team building activities and get-together with the help from the Hotel. And the Hotel was extra flexible to organise these events with venues and all other proceedings to make this entire journey a success. We at NSB, were delighted to obtain this supreme service and Avani Kalutara Resort is hands down recommended for a remarkable getaway experience. Special thanks goes out to Reservations Manager, Front Office Manager and the entire hotel staff for the unique service. Keep up the good work , you guys are simply awesome! Cheers!

The international five-star standard, the waiters are each warm and polite, the English standard, the traditional dance and singing are welcome and welcome guests, very pleasant surprise! The rooms are nice, reasonably designed, big enough, and comfortable. The hotel is one hour away from Colombo and the traffic is convenient. There are many entertainment activities, you can play billiards, play giant chess, table football, these are free of charge, and water sports and archery should be charged, not experienced. He was also sung by foreigners and sang karaoke, only English songs. The hotel itself is beautiful and large, like a large park with the sea on one side and the lake on the other. The garden view room we booked was upgraded to pool view. This is very bad and very noisy! Did not sleep well for two days! In the morning, the crows are meeting! In the afternoon, there are all kinds of chair pulling sounds, and in the evening it is even more terrible. Crows of crows gather by the pool and take a bath in the pool! If you want to live, it is best to book a sea view room! There is also a swimming pool over there. The sea water is very good, but it is also very wavy. In the evening, go for a stroll to the beach to see the sunset is beautiful. This is a hotel that should return.

Such a nice, comfortable place to stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, gave great recommendations. Breakfast was also quite nice. I personally appreciated the guitar that they let me use for a couple days!

4 of us visited from 20 Feb to 9th March. We originally stayed here 11 years ago, but the new owners (Aitken Spence) have certainly improved the hotel. I requested a high level room and was given one in the new block of the 5th floor. Very spacious room, with extra king sized bed, and good bathroom and shower. The view from the balcony, overloooking palm trees, beach and rolling sea and with constant sunshine is now sadly missed! The restaurant served a very varied cuisine to the extent that we only ate outside the hotel once. From curries to salads to fish to turkey, there was always a supply and the quality was as good as you will get anywhere, Our thanks to "Suni" the chef who gave us a little special attention! Also to waiters Anju and Manoj. (Yaki Dah) The guys in the Tazza bar, notably Madu and Indy, gave us great service and a laugh. (answer that phone!) Also animator Manol introduced us to "croquet" and we wish tham all good luck for the future. Our bedroom boy, (sorry but have lost your name) ( room 515) was a great chap and surprised us with bed "towel animals" the likes we have never seen before. The hotel was not full during our visit, (due to recent terrorist activities in Sri Lanka) so there was no lack of sunbeds. The pool attendants did a great job each day securing our sunbeds and parasols. We did have a couple of concerns:- After dinner in the evening, we usually went to the Twist bar area where there are comfortable chairs. However, it was always stifulling hot and the area desperately needs some circulating fans.Unfortunately, the Tazza bar which always seemed to have a slight breeze, did not have comfortable chairs, just cushioned benches with no back supports. However, the hotel offers good value for money, (certainly on all inclusive) and we have no hesitation in recommending the Turyaa. We will be returning!

What more can I add that hasn't already been written. This place truly is a hidden treasure. The bungalow has 4 rooms - each one named after local rivers which all rise in Adams Peak which is a big hill which pilgrims climb. The whole place is spotlessly clean and there was a wonderful smell of mansion polish on the 200 year old tiles!!! The beds were super comfortable with really good quality linen and pillows. Dressing gowns, slipper a safe and toiletries and hair dryer all provided and flat screen TV, all of these things which one does not normally expect to find in an estate bungalow. As other reviewers have said the staff were absolutely first class. The food was delicious no menu so just ate what was prepared which was excellent.Loely pool very tranquil except when the quarry was working but even that did not detract from out enjoyment. we will go back!!

We stayed at the Lagoon for two weeks whilst we got married in Sri Lanka. To the moment we arrived to when we left we were truly spoilt by Nemal and his team. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The location of the hotel is truly amazing, located on the lagoon. So much wildlife to see. We enjoyed daily visits from the monitor lizards who the lagoon feed as well as seeing bats fly above us at sunset. The rooms were spacious and immaculate and the food was superb. We had a wedding party back at the hotel after getting married on the beach and we danced the night away with our friends and the lagoon staff. It was just perfect!! Thank you Nemal and all your team for making our stay so memorable. We will definitely return one day. We miss all of you and will be recommending your hotel to our friends and family.

We booked a ocean view villa which borders a private beach and enjoyed our stay very much. The property is modestly sized and feels intimate and relaxing. The room was spacious and was equipped with modern fittings and furnishing. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've came across. The bathroom had loads of modern amenities and really loved the large bathtub. Room was clean and neat and very well maintained. The garden was lush and lovely and had one of the greenest coconut trees, despite the property bordering the lagoon. The garden and maintenance staff were very attentive and supportive. Apart from all these features, the best thing about the hotel was its food. It was excellent and the presentation was seriously top notch. They had an al la carte menu and everything was perfect from the starters to dessert. Also, loved their hearty English breakfast. It had so many varieties and got to be one of the best out there! The staff on the other hand, were friendly and supportive and a special thanks to Sanjula in F&B for his friendly and attentive service. All in all, had a very relaxing, enjoyable and memorable time here and would definitely come back! All the best Ayana!
