Hotels Near Skippers Cafe In Corfu
0.36km from downtownWe are just back from a 3 week stay at the Telesilla Hotel in Kontokali, Corfu. Firstly, let me say, we had no worries about travelling to the hotel at this time as we knew they had every precaution in place for both the staff and guests safety. The rooms and public areas are maintained to the highest standard, and your comfort is a priority for the Telesilla. All the staff are amazing, and so very friendly. Your comfort and enjoyment is what they all work towards and nothing is too much trouble. There is a good choice for breakfast, normally buffet style, but, due to the current situation, it is served to you by 2 lovely, forever smiling, staff - Hara and Alma. Hara is also available, during the day, to serve you drinks and food, around the pool area, and always with a smile. In the evening, Makis, Yannis, and Angelos are happy to welcome you to the restaurant which serves an extensive menu of the most amazing food prepared to the highest standard, (I can personally recommend the stifado) whilst Toma, the best bartender in Corfu, with a little help from Angelika, is happy to serve you with whatever concoction you might want to try. All in all, in my opinion, the Telesilla Hotel is the best hotel on the island, with the best possible staff who, from the moment you arrive, make you are feel part of the Telesilla family where nothing is too much trouble, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! People return to the Telesilla year after year because of the service, comfort and friendliness of the staff.

0.6km from downtownStayed for four nights. Very welcoming staff throughout on stay. Good value for money. Clean bedrooms which are serviced everyday. Access to balcony’s as standard. A/C and fridge in the room which is a necessity. Breakfast from 8-10 is filling and a great start to the day. We had rented a car to explore the entire island and used the car park next to the hotel. There’s also a small mini market just round the corner for your needs of drinks/snacks and most importantly ice cream. About a 10 minute walk into Gouvia which was a present evening stroll back (attesting lighting all the way). Will certainly stay again!
0.59km from downtownWe stayed at Silver Bay for the October half-term, the hotel was always really clean, so if you’re picky about cleanliness it does not disappoint. Room was average the only thing I would suggest is for the top bunk to have some sort of panel as it is certainly a safety risk if one of your children were to fall onto hard tiled floors, I didn’t let my child sleep on it just incase... Air con in the room, although the weather was nice I can imagine the Summer days would need AC so that’s a bonus too. We booked half-board, breakfast was good, a great variety of foods on a daily basis. Hot drinks were from a machine so weren’t great but not a major issue either. Dinner also had a variety of different things and although they cater for vegetarians there wasn’t a whole lot to pick from from that perspective. What really makes the hotel is it’s staff though, I cannot put into words how brilliant they are, so warm and you can tell they work well together as a team. The man on reception during the day time went out of his way to answer any questions we had or to advise us on places of interest including how to get there and which buses to catch etc... The lady on reception in the evening was smiley and welcoming too. We saw one of the waiters on his day off heading into town the same time we were and he was friendly and chatty even out of work. Bless him. I found the Greek people really laid back and really nice wherever you’d go to be honest. Their customer service is brilliant. Amenities: not too far from Old Town Corfu or Palaiokastritsas it sort of falls in the middle’ish of those two areas... The bus stop is just up the road and round the corner so doable with young children who can’t walk for long. There’s a mini market, supermarket, pharmacy and little restaurants in that area too. Ipsos beach is very close by too, and what a lush beach it is as well! It’s certainly value for money especially if you’re going as a family.... I would book again if we were ever in Corfu any time in the future especially with how clean it was I’m borderline OCD and that was perfectly clean even for my liking.

1.19km from downtownI would like to say a very big thank you to the Staff at OMIROS. I have spent the last week here at the hotel and would recommend it to anyone. The rooms are clean, very quiet and peaceful, there is blackout doors to help with sleep. The cleaners are excellent and the room has been kept to an excellent standard. I would like to especially recognise Poppy, she is a wonderful lady and a fun charater, nothing has been too much trouble for her and she always makes me laugh and smile. 5* personal customer service I found this outstanding! Outside the hotel is a lovely clean pool, its also with a bar and the barman Antonis also deserves high commendation for hiss service and again is a wonderful character, i have fallen in love with Corfu and the staff at the hotel have made my holiday. Near the hotel you will find lovely restaurants, shops and a picturesque beach all within a stones throw from the hotel. Thank you so much for making my stay extremely special I look forward to returning and would happily reccomend anyone to check this place out. Non guests are also welcome to drink at the well stocked bar and Antonis and Poppy will look after your every need.
1.24km from downtownWe stayed here for 2 weeks until 23rd October. As this was the end of the season, many bars and restaurants had closed or were closing. The hotel was not full and we had the excellent pool almost to ourselves on several days. The weather was fantastic for the time of year. This family owned hotel is lovely, and all the staff could not be more helpful. Yanus, Stavros, their wives and everyone were just lovely people, and helped to make our stay a very enjoyable experience. One of the main features of this hotel is the restaurant, which is always busy - it serves the best food in all of Gouvia. Everything, and there is a large selection, is so tasty in very generous portions - as are the drinks. Prices for food and drink were similar to all the other establishments in the area. Greece is no longer a cheap place. Taxation and other government interventions have increased prices a lot over the last few years. We found the rooms and the buffet continental style breakfast to be perfectly adequate for our needs. We all had a great holiday, and give lots of thanks to the family for being so kind. We'll be back.
1.25km from downtownThe hotel is located in the center of Gouvia. stop nearby to get to the center of Corfu by bus number 7. price 1.7 €. center of Corfu Old Town oo It is very beautiful to go. hearty breakfasts. The hotel area is small. WiFi is weak. Conder for a fee of 5 €
1.5km from downtownIf you like peace and quiet then this is the place for you. We stayed as a couple in one of the smaller studios. Really well decorated, had its own balcony and good wi fi connection, in the room and on the grounds. Grounds and pool area are exceptionally kept, comfy padded sun loungers and shaded sofa chairs for a break from the sun. The house is only a 15 minute walk from the main road and Gouvia strip where there are lots of lovely restaurants and bars and also bus links to other areas. You don't need to rent a car if you don't want to, we didn't bother. As there are only so many apartments, you'll sometimes get periods where you basically have the grounds and pool to yourself as folk go exploring for the day. It's also well lit at night, so you can have a little sit and drink in the grounds at night, nobody bothers you, it's really peaceful. The manager Irina was great, really helpful and always available by email or phone if you need anything while you are out and about. We would definitely stay again if we go back to Corfu. P.s Get that hot tub fixed and you're in heaven :) Stu and Lindsey
1.55km from downtownMe and my wife have been coming here since 2016. We felt right at home from the very start thanks to the amazing service. Marrietta, 'mamma' and 'pappa' are lovely people that we look forward seeing every year, if possible. We visit the Mathraki resort to get away from our busy every day life and our stay there does the trick every time. We can easily spend two weeks just relaxing at the pool and enjoying the great drinks (a large cold Mythos!), food and company. This is our place and it will be for years to come.

1.61km from downtownWe went away as a family of 5 during Covid-19 returning on 21/08/20, hotel was excellent when it came to cleanliness 1 person into reception at a time with mask, we needed to book the cleaners 2 days in advance and sunbeds were separated by 2m and sprayed down prior to use by the lifeguard. Accommodation was good/basic and clean, air conditioning was ok but needed to be on all the time to have a cool temperature and only cool in the main room. Pool was also clean and tidy, staff were friendly and pool snack bar food was good, but a little on the pricey side. Hotel is very close to local bars and restaurants with a wide variety of Greek food to choose from. The bay at the hotel although very beautiful is not ideal for swimming in, as it is not clear water and has swans, geese and ducks also present. Would recommend hiring a car from reception (54 euros) and travelling 40 minutes to the north of the island (Sidari) and then working your way round the west coast where you will truly see the beauty of Corfu.
