Only a one-night room-only stop over on the way north. We arrived around 9pm, parking easily enough, though some distance away around the back of the hotel. We had to wait while the receptionist sold gifts to other guests before we could check in. Room door hit the bed, which wasn't a great first impression, but although small the room (105) was perfectly adequate with a large dressing area on the way to the large bathroom. No meals were taken, and check out was very speedy at 7am as everything had been pre-paid.

The experience was excellent. It was the most satisfying hotel on this trip to Scotland. We arrived late that day and the hotel left the key on the reception desk. The breakfast provided was relatively standard, but of high quality. The most impressive thing was that the breakfast place had a view of the sea and lake. The hotel arranged a window seat for us, facing a small garden outside the hotel, and a little behind was the vast sea and lake, which made people feel very happy. The front of the hotel also faces the sea and lake. Before leaving, I couldn't help but take a few more photos. There was also a sheepfold next to it, full of Scottish high and low black-faced sheep and black-haired sheep. From the perspective of the natural environment, it is an ideal geographical location for self-driving travelers.

Standing above Lochalsh in its own secluded grounds and surrounded by the National Trust for Scotland woodland gardens. South facing and in a magnificent setting with wonderful views of sea and the mountains of Skye rising to over 1000m. Although extremely private, lying along its own track of around 300m, it is only 3-4 minutes by car to Kyle of Lochalsh which has a railway station (the scenic railway line to Inverness really is world famous!) a bank, shops and an excellent supermarket. There is also a smaller supermarket and Post Office about a mile away. Our garden has a large lawn and is planted with Magnolias and mature species Rhododendrons from Bhutan, China and Nepal and which flower from February until August. Doubled glazed with fitted carpets throughout; night storage heating and wood/coal burning stoves; both off-peak and instant electric hot water. If you want to keep in touch, we offer free Fast Fibre Wireless broad band WiFi. It is a wonderful location with great privacy. The skies above us in winter are ink-black and intoxicating - perfect for star-gazing!
