|19.6km from city centerFirstly, I have to say, The Kasturi is probably my favourite place in Pahang. I first came here in 2018 - and it made such an impression that I couldn't wait to come back. Came back as soon as PKP was lifted (review here somewhere) and a tad disappointed. Husband booked a night's stay for our 18th wedding anniversary and I have to admit the service has improved by leaps and bounds. Check in was warm and professional - villa is clean and hubby had made arrangements for flowers and some refreshments in the room which was so appreciated by yours truly. Had same villa as previous stay - toilet is still wonky. Hand bidet in indoor shower compartment is still non functional and the fish keropok was left untouched this time (learnt my lesson from last time - pls get new supplier - I am sure there are many more keropok makers who can make better keropok sira) This time however, husband ordered food to be sent to the room - FYI, room service is limited to the asian food selection (not advisable to preorder western dishes as these will end up cold by the time it gets sent to the room) Loved the caprese salad and the fried rice. The seafood fried in batter was above average. The white rice and chicken was too sweet for our liking. Breakfast was served 'unlimited ala carte style' The variety was ok - choice of nasi lemak, western and chinese congee. Nasi lemak - much much better than the last time I was there - but had an issue with the sambal sotong, which I informed the staff. Saw that they offered 'DANISH' as part of breakfast - but we only received toast and baguettes - so I'm not sure if I was confused about the danish being pastries? Barista also needs to learn to make proper latte art. However, the F&B staff - Deedi was extremely friendly and warm. He looked like he knew what he was doing despite being his 6th day at Kasturi - thought I would make a special mention about him. Would I come back for a fourth time? Some improvements have to be made about the upkeep of the facilities in the room and definitely better improvements with the F&B - but Kasturi's one life-saving feature is definitely its location....

6. Room has a large sink. Next time we bring dishwashing liquid and a 3M scrub, for ease of washing cups

|19.29km from city centerCheck-in was smooth. Booked the family room, facing the sea. Had a pleasant stay, room was spacious and clean, bed was comfy, view was amazing. Provided towels, bath foam, shampoo,electric kettle and packed drinks, bottled water. However no mini fridge in the room. Happy that the hotel provided hot/cold water dispenser at the foyer, we just refilled our bottles whenever needed. Staffs attended me with a smile whenever i needed something. Breakfast was decent. Only frustrated with the big piles of stones placed along the beach, block views and can't really enjoy the beach. But when the tide comes in we did made the best of it. Affordable room for family of 5 with nearby eateries and groceries.

|12.11km from city centerIt was a very relaxing holiday for my family despite us travelling in a big crowd of 3 families. Stayed in one of the chalets. PROS: 1) enjoyed what nature could offer. The plants, tress, beach was such a relaxing, de-stressing sight. 2) service - very good i would say. They would respond immediately on the request of food or beverages. Upon checking in the chalet, was given glasses of welcoming drink. 3) chalet - love the concept of ”kampung” chalet. The whole structure is made of wood, which i felt was quite sturdy and didnt make much of funny noises when walked upon in the living room and hall. 4) swimming pool - as we had stayed in the chalet, there is a private pool next to to it. Water was prescient, with minimal to no insects seen. The common swimming pools on the other hand, they were fabulous. There is the kid's pool and the adult pool, which was kept very clean and my kids enjoyed tremendously playing in it. Cons: 1) being next to nature, you cannot avoid the annoying mosquitoes feeding on you. - best to have apply some mosquito repellent patch especially during the evenings. 2) food at the cafeteria however was quite a big let down in my honest opinion. Food options are not quite to my expectation. The plates and cutleries were dirty with visible stains. 3) the wooden stairs leading up to the chalet needs a major upgrade. It looks like it will give way anytime soon. We were really concerned as in our crowd, my aunty was walking with a walking stick. 4) not many options of food stalls except for a few local Malay restaurants down the road. 5) there are two rooms in a chalet. Unfortunately these rooms are separated and one needs to pass through a door to exit and another door to enter the room. Family with young children would not benefit staying in such design. Overall, i would give this place a 7/10.

|12.49km from city centerWe had 3 rooms and all of them had stained sheets. I had to change rooms 3 times before getting one with proper working air conditioning. The bathroom is tiny and weirdly configured (imagine: the toilet bowl brushes against your legs when standing at the sink, shower door must be open when sitting on the toilet). The furniture is cheap and broken. Limited parking shared between this hotel and Seasons View so it's always full. Parking in front of the shop lots will require hourly coupons imposed by the council. The chime of the lift is so loud you can hear it from the room. For light sleepers like me, it is especially disturbing. The roller blinds is narrow with segmented design so there is light seepage from the sides and through if you don't align it properly. Only good thing was the front desk guy who checked us in. Very helpful and resolved the non-AC issue by letting us check out the 3 adjacent rooms (2 of which also blew hot air). Unfortunately, he was replaced by a night watchman who's kind but clueless manning the counter after 11pm. We asked about parking when we came back after dinner and he couldn't offer much help. Plenty of other options around.

(Kula Cake, Kuantan Pickers, Tjantek, Kopi & Teh, Akar Kopi, Lena Cafe, Sup Ayam Kampung) to name a few. River Esplanade is just right behind the hotel. Our room is facing the river, upon request. To my suprise for the price, the hotel is very clean. Tv has many channel including sport. A mini fridge & sejadah. I bet the hotel is recently refurbish as it has a nice new paint coating & flooring. And so does the bathroom. They even offer connecting room, which is good if you are travelling in group & to my suprise they have lift. Parking is easy & plenty, but by the counsil. So we paid around RM4.50 daily or RM0.65 per hour. Overall, if you are in Kuantan for Jalan Jalan Cari Makan. I truly recommend this hotel.

Very nice staff start from the front office till the cafe (for breakfast of course). Well decorated hotel, mix of modern and traditional look. A little noise due to the on going renovation but overall everything was very good. Nice breakfast, easy check in and check out, ample parking space, clean room, clean pool, enough towel at pool and nice hospitality.

Extra info to all. The toiletries only have a shampoo, a bar soap and liquid body soap. No toothbrush.
There is a bit of stain on the bedding.
A bit old school on the air-conditioning but it's still perfectly functional.
The toilet is clean.
The hotel was actually next to high school. So sometimes there is club practice and you will hear the school band playing.
The water dispenser on my level which is supposed to be cold is warm. And hot still hot.
The water dispenser on the ground floor is broken. Only hot water can be used.
And Girls the iron and iron board will be outside in the balcony.
Overall just for sleeping it was perfectly ok.

We took seaview bedroom with 2 king size beds. The only room available when i make the booking for me & wife. The room is spacious & seaview is lovely. Just few meter away behind the hotel is the beach. I don’t see many people swimming since the water is yellowish colour (about 5 meter from the shore). We enjoy watching fisherman go to the sea.A tractor take the boat to the shore. You need to be at the beach around 6.40 am to watch the event. Breakfast is so-so. Not too bad not too good. Acceptable to full your stomach. If you preffer hotel with pool, this is not for you. Overall we are happy to stay here.
