I booked this hotel due to the location and good review on Booking.com. I went there not expecting much, but the experience was even worse than my expectation. Before arriving, we received an email saying check-in was at 2pm but that we could leave out bags there from 8am on. We arrived there at around 11:30 and the hotel was closed (they could have warned us about this 3 hour lunch break). So we dragged the bags around until 2pm which was the time the hotel was supposed to reopen according to the indication at the door. At 2pm no answer still. So we waited for around 15 min while I tried calling and emailing and then finally they gave us an access code and we went to our room. Turns out online check-in was actually at 2:30pm but we only received this information after we were able to check-in. The room was simple but okay for what we needed. However the bathroom clearly had not been cleaned after the previous guests since we found empty shampoo sachets in the shower. We were lucky it wasn’t that cold too because the heater in the room wasn’t working. There was no duvet in the beds, only a throw blanket so at night we were very cold and needed to wear out jackets to sleep. The last day we had one more disappointment: we received an email during check-in saying we could leave our bags at the reception after checkout. When I asked the reception they said this was not possible anymore due to corona. While I understand the safety measures I was extremely frustrated they told me one thing in the email and another after. We were counting on leaving our bags there, reason why we booked a hotel and not an Airbnb. They let us leave our bags in the room until 2pm (checkout was at 11am) but still we had to cut our trip short and return early because the bags were too heavy to carry around all day. Extremely disappointed and definitely do not recommend. My standards are low but Hotel Patricia was too much.

Positive: The location of this small hotel is wonderful. Smack in the middle of everything. You can park right by the hotel in Kleber Parking and if you ask the front desk they can validate your ticket and you’ll only have to pay €18,50 which is nothing compared to what you’d have to pay. (0,80 p 15 minutes) Room was small but clean. Lady at check in was friendly but did not attempt to meet us in the middle in speaking English and spoke french... real fast. We made it work. Negative: This must’ve been the noisiest hotel I ever stayed at. We were in 501 which is the only room in the middle of the building with a very crappy (no) view. Every word spoken on the hallways could be literally heard. Every door that opened/closed was heard. We were very lucky the other guest were not too loud. Bed was too short for my friend who at 182cm (6ft) isn’t considered a tall person in Europe. Bathroom was very(!) small but that can be expected in France, however it was not very well ventilated which made it very uncomfortable after a warm shower. The AC was not working the way it should and we both woke up because it was getting too warm in the room (27C) Officially you can only use the elevator to go up. We were on the 5th floor and my friend has a walking impediment so that was not great. We did use it to leave with our suitcases. We were not going to walk down 5 floors with our suitcases. Also the stairs (had to look for them from 3rd floor down) made me worry about a fire or other emergency situation. We did not have breakfast so I can’t speak to that. So in short: if location is the most important issue, stay here. If you want a quiet evening/night, don’t. If you like quaint and authentic, stay here. If you appreciate space and comfort, dont.

From the beginning, I knew there might be an issue. First, the site wouldn't allow me to book a room for just 1 adult and 1 child, so I ended up having to book a room for 2 adults under the special offer that Accor was putting on for its members. That meant that I was overcharged for not only the breakfast that should have been free for my child but also the tax for my stay that my child shouldn't have had to pay. Despite multiple emails to the hotel, I never got a response, and when I came to the hotel, the night manager told/lied to me that children had to pay for the tax, which wasn't true. I'm still waiting to be reimbursed by the hotel. I spoke to the hotel manager who assured me that I would be reimbursed, so we will see if that really happens and when- I still have no response to my email about that either. As for my double room, it was clean but small- basic is the best word for it- and the hotel had no family rooms available for our family of 4, so while it might have been nice to have a foozball table and pingpong table for the kids near the reception, I wasn't surprised that there were no kids at the hotel since the hotel didn't really seem set up for that. Breakfast was ok, but the coffee from the machine was awful. I hope that service and quality will improve soon. At least it's not far from the tram line in case you want easy access to the stadium or the center of town.

Location is great as it's close to the main train station in 10 minutes or so. For the rate compared to other hotels, it's really cheap to think that it's an apartment style hotel. Wifi is also fast enough and the room is big enough especially for 1 person. Even if there are 2 people , he space would still be enough. The room heater though . didn't work as much. The window blinds are also old school in terms of pulling it down . it's not that easy compared to current designs with just a string to pull. You need to rotate some lever for it to work. Overall, this property is highly recommended especially for groups due to the apartment style.

Arrived at night for a business trip a bit frazzled because the airline had lost my luggage (argh!), to discover that our admin hadn't booked my room at this hotel. The hotel were very sympathetic and sorted me out with a well-appointed room. I was just settling in when Reception called - they had rung around the neighbouring hotels to find out if my admin had in fact booked somewhere else, which indeed they had, and would I like to change hotel? I did, and Hotel de l'Ill didn't charge me anything, which was very kind because they'd at least have to make up the room again. Then in the next day or two the airline needed to deliver my lost luggage. Hotel de l'Ill looked out for it, received it, then drove it round to my new hotel, again at no charge. I would love to give them my custom one day but as things stand I haven't paid them a thing. They've just been lovely. So, I'm writing this review, my first for TripAdvisor. Please give them your custom. Not only do they deserve it, you'll be in good hands.

First of all there were hairs on the floor and garbage in our bin when we arrived in our room. We wanted to use the pool (spa was closed, understandable during corona). The girl at the reception told us it costs 9 euros per person because it's with a reservation so there aren't more than 6 people in the pool. When we arrived at the pool on our given time, we were with 9 people in the smallest pool i've ever seen, we didn't dare to go in because you couldn't possibly keep a distance! That was a waste of money. But then the worst thing. When we booked the pool and our breakfast the day before, we asked if the receptionist could calculate everything we needed to pay after our stay already in the price with the pool and breakfast because we started our trip through the route des vins early in the morning. So we asked that we could leave fast and have everything already payed for. She was very friendly, we paid and she said that everything was payed for. The day we leave in the morning (26/8/20) the very rude girl at the reception told us we had to pay our room, we told her we already payed it online but she didnt't understand and kept asking for money for our room. After we tried to explain it about 10 times we looked for our papers and showed her. she told us that we then had to still pay our taxes. We told her that we already asked the girl the day before to calculate it in the price with the rest of our payments. She began to roll her eyes and pull up her eyebrows. We said we will pay again just to get it over with (quite agitated) but she continued to try to talk back in a really unfriendly manner. We tried to get it over with and pay, she didn't take the money right away and kept saying things that didn't make any sense. Finally we pay (at this point really annoyed) and she began to say things in a rude and sarcastic manner like "thanks for your kindness" while she was the one who was rude and didn't even try to listen the whole time. We NEVER had an experience like this, let alone leave so angry as we did. What a waste of money.

I have booked Hotel Suisse over an online booking engine, the communication before the arrival was excellent, I have received automatic information about parking situation with recommendations for good parking locations. For my perspective it is usual that a hotel located in historic center has no private parking. I followed the recommendation and parked my car at Parking des Batelier, which was perfect - only 5 minutes walk to the hotel (20EUR for 24h). We received a warm welcome at the reception, we arrived pretty early so the room was not ready yet, however we were offered to store our bags. In the afternoon we checked in and received a very cosy and charming room with view to the Cathedral. The room was clean and had a refurbished bathroom with bathtub. Breakfast was served in a cosy little breakfast room. You'll get croissants, bred, eggs, local cheese, cold cuts and good coffee. There was even some sparkling wine so we could cheers to my wife's birthday. Allover I definitelly recommend this place because of its charm, friendly staff and perfect location next to the Cathedral and the city center of Strasbourg.

This small French hotel is located just outside the old city center of Strasbourg (20 minutes from the airport by taxi) but still on good walking distance to everything (Cathedral/shops 10 minutes, Petit France 15 minutes and the tour boat 7 minutes). The rooms are typical French. Extreme small. Room 13 was located next to the elevator and very noisy. You could hear everything what was said in the hall way. Other guests complained about noisy youngsters in the street at 0400 just under the window of their room. So, you will not have a quite night. Breakfast (10,50 euro pp) is served in the reception area in a very not logical designed area. The result is that the coffee machine is blocking the entrance. There was not enough food and half of our friends was not able to have a cooked egg for breakfast.

It's incredible place and I'm sure that every city must have hotel like this one. Each room is unique and you're able to choose a room where you will stay. No "preferences" and "requests" - you choose exact rooms and know what you will pay for. Room decorations varies but I found them all very cool. Great contemporary artists will make your stay unforgettable. And you also know the price and it's flat, so you even can easily plan your stay in advance which is very useful. They also have some discounts if you'll be lucky enough. My arrival was very late by Lufthansa bus about midnight, but I was greeted by member of staff and check-in was fast and very convenient. Size of room was good, no claustrophobic feeling when you don't know how to open your suitcase and walk in the same time. Good equipment, everything working in bathroom, lots of power outlets. It's very close both to Central isle where everything happens, Petite France, Railway Station and also car rental offices and big parking, so I found this location ideal. No issues with cleaning, spacious elevator and very friendly and helpful staff. I didn't eat in a cafe, but food looks good too. I may recommend this property to anyone looking for place to stay in Strasbourg and will stay there again if I'll have a chance to visit Alsace once more.

stayed here for two nights recently and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Yes the hotel is very central and next to the cathedral but hey that's why we booked it! So it wasn't a surprise to hear the bells nor the muffled sounds coming from the street below. We didn't find the noise an issue to be honest and it was great to be right in the centre of the Christmas marketplaces. the room was overlooking the cathedral (which is a stunning sight) and was very comfortable, warm and well appointed. The breakfast was excellent and offered a great choice of items to suit everyone's tastes we thought. We had nightcaps in the bar both evenings and enjoyed some nice whisky to warm us up again. The staff are very friendly and professional and all in all considered we liked this hotel very much and would go back one day.

This is and old fashioned hotel right in the heart of Strasbourg. It was perefctly adequate with comfortable beds and a reasonable shower so if, like us, that is really all you need then book in here. We are never in our rooms long so why pay more than the Euro 58 that we paid in July. Met several staff and all were delightful, helpful. There is someone on the premises all night so very safe. We didn't have breakfast but it looked generous as there were so many lovely cafes nearby that we went there. Also very easy to find restaurants.

We had a very nice stay at the Hotel Athena Spa. With Covid conditions, they did very well. They had clear entrance/exits labeled. But in the breakfast area, I did not feel they sanitized often enough. Many people using the same utensils to serve themselves, not wiping down the coffee machine that was touched by everyone, allowing people to reuse their plates and cups at the buffet. Our room was spotlessly clean and the public areas in the hotel were all clean and comfortable. The spa was smaller than we had expected and also was not being sanitized as often as I would have liked. But the hotel is easy access to the city by tram, which we used without any issues.

The problem with TripAdvisor is that the number of stars depends on the mindset of the reviewer. I stayed at K Hotel for two nights and all I did was sleep and bathe. Didn't eat there, didn't drink there, nothing. In that respect, the bed was comfortable, the shower was brilliant, actually, now I remember it and the air conditioning was effective. Is it worth five stars, therefore? Well not to me it isn't, because if I give a hotel five stars I want to be amazed by it. I wasn't amazed by K Hotel, but I didn't want to be. It did exactly what I wanted it to do and it did it well. To conclude: K Hotel is on the edge of Strasbourg, it has free parking for all guests, the tram to get into Strasbourg is about six minutes walk away and it was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you, K Hotel, I would recommend you for others in my position

Well, I wouldn’t say this hostel is the best I’ve been to, BUT it’s not bad. Here are some advantages of it: - free WI-FI throughout the territory; - breakfasts which are not free but affordable in price; - a quite place, you don’t hear your neighbours; - clean rooms; - a parking zone; - there’s a tram stop in 5-7 mins. Trams go right to the centre (it takes about 20 mins); - receptionists are always ready to help you and they know English well; - and it’s CHEAP! What I don’t really like: - rooms are quite small, definitely not for staying in there for a week; - far from the centre if you prefer getting there by foot. The price justifies the quality. 4/5 because there’re way more ‘+’ than ‘-‘.

My wife and I stayed here in mid February and this was the best decision I made for our trip to France. This hotel is right across from the train station so it took all of 2 minutes to walk there(we had to wait for the light to change so we weren’t breaking any laws.) The rooms are small, but not claustrophobic, and really comfortable. Huge shower and towel warmers. The breakfast was good. The best thing about this gem is the service. Multilingual, courteous, and extremely helpful. Etienne, the gentleman that checked us in, was quick to offer places to eat, and things to do and see. He gave us directions and advice for visiting surrounding villages and when to go. He is the perfect example of what a front desk person should be. We felt lucky to have Etienne as a resource. Do yourself a favor. If you’re going to the Alsace region, stay at AROK Hotel and use it as your base. It’s the perfect location, and the perfect hotel. Easy to get anywhere in Strasbourg by walking. We can’t wait to return.

My husband and I decided to visit Strasbourg for the President's Day weekend, since it was also the weekend of the annual wine expo held in the city. I booked us at Hotel des XV because it had most of what we look for in a hotel. Located in a quiet, residential neighborhood about a 30 minute walk from downtown, this hotel has a small bar and there's a small parking lot next to it that is free of charge, though I am not sure if it's owned by the hotel. I noticed the hotel has paid parking, too. We booked a deluxe room, which wasn't very large, but was well appointed and offered most everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and we liked the bathroom, which was stocked with good toiletries and offered a shower with a wide head. Service at this hotel was almost perfect. We had one hiccup on the first night because the code to the front door was changed without our knowledge. I did notice later that I got an email from the hotel about the change, but it was in my spam folder. We ended up having to call the receptionist at about 10:00pm to open the door. Other than that, I really couldn't fault much at this hotel. It's a very nice place to stay. I even enjoyed the breakfast, which can include eggs and bacon if you desire. I didn't have bacon, but I did have eggs, along with the other usual treats. I especially loved the brownies at breakfast! Hope we can come back soon!

We have been to Strasbourg several times but visited this property for the very first time. The staff were very friendly, the rooms in the new wing of the hotel very clean and comfortable. We had the possibility to speak with the owner of the hotel. It was evident that they have been investing a lot in this property for several years to make it what it is today. Last but not least, we took a nice walk in and around the beautiful gardens and forest. The small streams and lakes are very picturesque.

Delicious breakfast (the croissants were melting in the mouth 🙂 The hotel is located right next to the train stop, you can get to the center in 7-10 min. Good value for this price

The staff were very friendly and responsive. Although it was a hot time, it was a hotel where we recommended a cold drink at check-in and a copy of a Japanese newspaper when going to breakfast. I booked a room for 3 people, so the quality of the auxiliary bed is a problem, but the bed here was good with no uncomfortable elements. However, the number of towels is quite small and the number is slightly smaller. Breakfast was almost the same in Europe, and the vegetables were only cucumbers and tomatoes, but they were all delicious with ham, eggs and cheese. It is close to the station, and you can walk to sightseeing spots, so it was a safe place, so you can stay next time.

Strasbourg Downtown
Very nice SPA. Outdoor Jacuzzi with breathtaking views of the Petite France but without swimming pool. Professional staff and available. Deluxe room very comfortable. Good bedding. A flat on the decor of the room a little aging. Peeling paints in places ... a little light for a 5 star.

We have booked the Le Lodge Hotel over Secret Escapes for a small city trip (3 days) to Strasbourg. It was a confort room which included breakfast, a parking spot, a welcoming drink in the price. Unfortunately, our hotel experience was not as pleasant as we expected. There are a lot of little things that need improvement. As always the positives first: + The hotel is located near a tram station that drives directly to the city centre + A supermarket and a Lidl are 10 minutes by foot (in case you need water or snacks) + The room is air conditioned + The bed is comfortable + Housekeeping is excellent. Give those people a raise ! Now the negatives: - A big no no is the fact that staff can't speak sufficiently English. I do not expect them to speak German since we are in France, however even the easiest conversation or question is hard to answer and staff is lacking vocabulary or doesn't understand anything at all. - The Check-In was therefore somewhat poor. We did not get a description of breakfast times or any explanation of Check Out times etc... Even the voucher for the "welcoming drink" was only given to us after we asked for it... on the voucher it says " bon pour 1 cocktail" but do not expect to go to the bar and get one out of the cocktails list.. it is simply a home brewed mixture drink, which again the receptionist couldn't explain due to the language barrier... we passed on that and so we were offered just soda drinks.. this is simply not the description of a cocktail.. in the end we managed to convince him for a glass of wine.. - Upon arrival we wanted to put our valuables in the room safe... this one was locked so we went to reception and they came upstairs with a key.. luckily it was empty and we were told to lock with our code, however this did not work either, so the receptionist seriously without hesitation typed the general code for the safe (this is simply unprofessional and you never do that in front of guest) in the end we were told the safe does not work and he left... that's definitely not a 4 star service you want to experience. He did not bother to ask us if we wanted a different room. -The room and the bed were all clean and tidy. The bathroom was also excellent. However our room had a bath tub, which could not even fit 1 adult... and such a small shower head which was ridiculous. The most annoying thing was that if your are taller than 180cm you need to bend to wash your hair because the shower tube is too short and once squished, the water stops... not comfortable at all.. - The next morning half of the room service breakfast was simply forgotten and we needed to ask for the remaining products ( we filled a paper at the reception simple, with crosses of what products we want to eat for breakfast) after 10 minutes room service arrived again and we could enjoy our breakfast in bed. - The hotel offers a bar but as previously mentioned do not expect much - its more appearance than reality.. since we cou

Positives: Good location 5 minutes from city center, clean room with kitchenette. Experience with staff is mixed. The lady in the evening was not that communicative. But Mattias who was there in the morning was awesome. He always greets you with a smile, asks if you need anything, helps you in every possible way he can. Negatives: The check in and out times are a bit awkward. If you’re here for a day, you are checking in after 17:30 and checking out at 10:00, which is roughly a little more than 16 hours for a day’s price. For most of the accommodations, it’s around 20 hours. So we would recommend the owner to revise these timings.

This was our second visit, so we were a little disappointed this time around. As a 3-star, it has some work to do. Especially in their restaurant...the staff seems a little off. For dinner, there was basically one waitperson for a full dining room. Our dinner came about 20+ minutes after a couple who came in with us and just before a couple who had come 20 minutes later received theirs. In their informal/bar section the next day, we were given two menus, but not told about their special plate. In fact, there were at least 3-4 servers for lunch....where were they for the dinner hour. This disorganized outfit may be catering to local crowd. I will look elsewhere for our next stay in Strasbourg.

The hotel is on a quiet road a short distance from Place de la République and a two minute walk from Parc du Contades tram stop, with easy access to the city centre. The check-in process was straightforward. Although I booked a 'superior' room, given that hotels in Strasbourg are generally quite expensive, I wasn't expecting a great deal. It was clean and absolutely fine for a quick stop over, but it could hardly be described as 'superior'. The room was quite small, the bed not particularly comfortable and the room generally was a little rough around the edges and in need of a little attention. I had breakfast booked each morning, but only ate there the first morning as the choice and quality wasn't great. I would stay here again if necessary but there are probably better options out there, particularly if you are staying for leisure and not business.

Driving down to my home in Greece. Long journey with three overnight stays. Decided to choose this hotel as five hours drive from Zeebrugge. Located very close to the route. Booked it through booking.com. Travelling alone with dog. Good thing is they accept pets and my pooch was allowed in the dining room. Novel! Anyway I digress. Menus posted outside and menu presented both held same information. Cheapest set menu was €25, most expensive €60. Give or take a couple of euros. Most basic menu was basic. Chose the €39 menu for three courses. Not cheap but choices seemed better. Was the first diner so didn’t understand that there was another ‘hidden’ menu which was subsequently offered to fellow diners. I asked to view this menu having already eaten two courses from the menu I had seen. On this menu which would appear to part of the ‘Demi pension’ was good choices and would have been my choice if I had been offered it. I can’t say how much cheaper or reasonable this menu would have been had I taken part in the Demi pension offer. But I suspect it’s much cheaper. The other thought I have is that I’m the only english person, non French speaking in the restaurant and obviously oblivious to the nuances of French hotel practices. But somehow it leaves a bitter taste. My advice? Book direct or through Logis.com. Ask for the Demi pension deals and avoid booking through booking.com otherwise be prepared to be misled.
