The hotel is well located but be ready to use inky credit card for deposit as the hotel does not accept cash and they would charge you one night if you decide to not stay and cancel the booking. There’re only two elevator for the entire 30 story building so if you get a high floor room be ready for waiting for elevator for few minutes. The other thing I didn’t like about the hotel is the dinning room did breakfast which is too small, in the morning around 9:00-10:00 you might be standing eating cuz there’s no table available...
My Army unit was sent to assist the city of New York with this horrific pandemic that was reaping habit upon the World. The excitement and the unknowing that lay ahead was somewhat nerve racking. I was anxious to say the least. We packed our gear as though we would be setting our sleeping quarters out on a dock near the Hudson River or maybe Central Park- rumors flourished. We were all surprised and ecstatic to find out that we were headed straight to a fixed facility that would be our makeshift Medical Station (Javits Convention Center). The other glorious twist was we were getting to stay in our own hotel room to accommodate the whole social distancing rule. I loved everything about this idea. Thankfully the bus pulled up between the Double Tree and the SpringHill Marriott that would serve has our residence for a unbeknown length of stay. Of course I headed straight for the Marriott to ground my gear, because they’re family to me; without second guessing that my name would not be on that guest roster. I am so grateful to have gotten to stay at such a beautiful and family friendly facility. Location and quality are two important keys to a successful business, but the people factor is priceless. Stayed here last weekend. Obviously we all are aware there is a pandemic going on, and I found the hotel to be clean + safe. They have contactless room service should you want to opt to dine in privacy if that's what makes you feel the most safe. If you would like to dine "out" and get drinks/food at one of the 2 restaurants in the hotel, all staff are wearing masks and you are required to as well (except for obviously when eating). You also do need to sign in for contact tracing & your temperature is taken. With Covid going on, you will have to ask for housekeeping. I oped not to as I personally was only staying 2 nights and didn't feel it was necessary. All the normal amenities/luxuries that a hotel should have are still available, everything is just modified for your safety. On a non-covid related note, staff was great and kind! The hotel had great food + drinks, and I loved the decor. I was able to eat at their rooftop bar and the view is amazing! Bed was super comfy in my opinion, and although the rooms are small it was all I personally needed staying there solo. Thought the addition of the pull-out desk in the room was great for somewhere with not a ton of space. Also as an FYI, if you've never been to Williamsburg before this hotel is in a great spot located pretty centrally to stores, coffee shops, bars, etc, while still being a few blocks removed from that so it's pretty quiet. Also is two or so blocks away from a small park! Everything you could really need is in walking distance. Overall was very happy with my stay and felt safe!

Stayed there for 4 days and it was probably the worst Hilton brand experience I ever had! 1. Room A/C is noisy !! And it's right next to the bed! Was in room 901 had to down grade to 405 because the A/C in 901 sounds like a train running on rail! Moved to 405 it got better but not that much better, sounds like a airplane cabin instead. 2. If you book king bed with walkout balcony, you will be surprised how much you are misleaded to think there is a balcony. It's literally a balcony about 10 inches out. The only way to get a real balcony is to get a room to the back side, but note that there is no table or chair. It's pretty much no good. By the way if you get a king bed, it's so tiny you don't even get a table to eat on. And the queen bed with desk gets you a table that's falling apart for 1 person to eat on. Plus I am sure that queen bed is not even real queen size. It's really like a full size bed. It doesn't even fill the entire bed frame they had there. 3. Poorly maintained and not clean! With all the covid19 going around you'd think they make sure they clean it well. But nope they don't. There is mold in the bathroom glass and shower. They uses pump bottle instead of one time use shampoo. There is a fridge in the room and it wasn't wiped down. Table … nope not clean, night stand..Nope not clean, coffee maker , nope not clean, the capsules were missing and not refilled when we checked into the room. The book on shelf display has dust on it so it's not wiped down. Tv has alot of finger oil prints on it. And the floor omg so dirty. The vents from the A/C is so dirty it's unbelievable, while it's also poorly designed. You can have the a/C blow at your face all night (with blackout blind open) or running full power all night (with blackout blind closed... Because the blackout blinds are right on top of the A/C vent. Yup so you can sleep cold and bright or hot and dark. Did I mention the shelf's and lights are broken as well? 4. Weed! You like weed?! If you do, you'd love this hotel, in this hotel people smokes weed and even if you report to the front desk in this smoke free hotel, they don't do anything. They say they will charge them cleaning fee. But how's that going to solve my issue of enjoying a drug and smoke free hotel? Nothing. You get to smell it every night, especially in the elevator. When I report it, they ask me if I can identify which exact room it's coming from. Yup they expect you to be the drug sniffing dog from the airport. 5. You don't get anything. Gold member gets 2 bottle of water for the entire stay total! if you remember to ask them. No breakfast, no upgrade, nothing else. Yup nothing else is available to you from this hotel, no slipper. In fact if you want new towel you gotta ask for it. Do you own cleaning or request it daily. 6. After they changed my room, their system charge me the wrong rate. I had to ask them to fix it. Well front desk told me, I had to call Hilton honors to fix it myself. They can't do it. Too

Just opposite the airport exit, but there is a lot of luggage, and there is a lot of luggage. It is a little difficult to walk. It is recommended to take the shuttle bus at the airport. The interior of the hotel is not bad, it is more suitable for late or early departure.

We were booked in the hotel across the road Best Western Plus - which had good reviews, but the hotel had some water problem, so they reserved us a room at the Corona. From the moment we checked in, we were concerned at the very loud noise from the train track just outside the hotel. The receptionist ignored my question about the trains twice, and only chipped in when a man in reception told me that the trains run all night, and after a few days we would get used to the noise. The receptionist said that we were at the rear of the hotel where there was no noise. Well, I can tell you first hand in room 510 there is not only noise but as the train passes, the hotel room vibrates! Arriving at 22:00 for a one night’s stay in a very dangerous looking area, we felt we had little choice, so we stayed, especially as the “helpful” cabbie took the longest route he could find from the airport. The hotel looked like it had recently been refurbished nicely. There was a lift to all floors. Our room had been refurbished too. Large (sadly uncomfortable) bed, which was made with a sheet missing – how can you do that! – plenty of cupboards, desk / vanity with chair, TV and noisy air conditioning unit. Double glazed. The bathroom was very nice with a good range of complimentary toiletries. All that said about the fittings, we didn’t sleep well because of the noise from the train track, and air con unit – and that was the whole point of staying. The breakfast was very basic (paper cups, plastic knives, spoons and plates) with cereal, bread and cakes and yogurt. The only good thing about the hotel, and it wasn’t the price, is that I only spent 1 night there.
Hotel refrigerator toothbrush what the front desk is going to be on the bed. The bed is very comfortable. The health is quite good. I am interested in the coffee and bar downstairs. But I am too tired to go. I will have another chance next time.
I stayed at the Frederick in February 2020 and was surprised not just by the convenience of the neighborhood of Tribeca with plenty of subway stations, one of them just in front of the hotel, but also by the genuine friendliness off all staff. Being welcomed back after a long day in the office and greeted on the floors just makes you feel less strange in a big as New York. The front desk staff also handled every request with a smile and timely. I had booked a suite and was lucky enough to be on a high floor facing the street. Loved the view seeing the Woolworth building from my room! Thank you for a great stay! I will return.

Good location, good service
We booked the West End Suite at Colonial House. From the moment we booked to the moment we left the staff was amazing! So polite, kind, courteous and friendly. The suite was incredible.. so large and well arranged. A great view of the garden. The kitchen was so awesome to have. The suite was beautiful, hard wood floors , well decorated, warm, inviting and spacious. If I was traveling back to Manhattan, the first thing I would do is book this suite! The continental breakfast and the company out in the main area was great every morning, the coffee was great! Family takes a minimum of one trip a year and every member of this family agrees that this was the best place we have ever stayed.
This hotel is close to all of the main subway lines you need if you're a tourist who's never been in town. The hotel has very tight rooms, A friend and I stayed in a room with two double beds, and while we obviously each had a bed, there was no place to have a suitcase open on anywhere other than the beds, and a small bench. The small space allows you to keep your stuff together, but I don't think a family of 4 could really enjoy staying in the room we were in. We checked in and were let up to our room before standard check in time, which was really nice. The first room we were given wasn't clean. There was dark hairs on the bed, toilet, and shower. The mirror above the sink also hadn't been wiped down. We let them know and they sent someone up to come look at everything and gave us a different room. Other than the first incident, the hotel stay was fine. Beds were comfy, air conditioning system was good, and showers had good pressure. Considering when you're in New York City there's so much to do, the room being small isn't a big issue if you'd aren't going to do more than sleep in it.
Stayed here multiple times over years. Most recent departure was as covid ramped up. Had just extended reservation from a long stay. Well known to management. They called me down to recheck in but when I got to lobby manager admitted tricking me to get me out of room: "actually we're closing down and didn't want to tell you that while you were in room." Ah, because they thought I was going to squat/refuse to leave? Nice. Unfortunately we'd made mistake of overlooking an extremely disturbing event a few weeks prior. It involved local known drug dealers hacking our phone from the next room (apparently for hours)--deleting/adding files and video recording screen of our phone. This was not a random crime. Wouldn't you know it? The staff when asked said there were no registered guests in that room--no way anyone squatted there. Despite presence of cameras everywhere, staff refused to check/allow access to videos and said they preferred being reported to the (real) police. Done! Lastly, during end of another (solo) 2-month stay, awaiting confirmation of final night's rate, management Pulled me out of my room around 1 pm until rate was confirmed and room paid for. I was ill at the time (winter) and management had me sit with a fever in the lobby, coughing and wheezing up a storm, for an hour before management confirmed the rate I'd claimed earlier in the day. This was a $5 discrepancy the front desk was confirming. They even refused to let me return to my room just to get pain medication and insisted on having a bellhop escort me to my room and back. After accepting 1000s of $$$ in prepaid hotel fees, this is how they treated a guest on his last day, over a $5 question on the daily rate. Also, there were a lot of errors and quirks that just don't happen other places. Too many times I'd call my one friend from my room travelking in town and BOOM! suddenly there'd be a bellhop at my door telling me there was an urgent matter at the front desk (grumpy false claims I hadn't paid incidentals deposit upon check-in; misplaced paperwork; constantly demagnetized room keys; AND bizarre hassles whence staff would claim not to know how to set phone so I could make outgoing local calls). It's also in a remote location on a pollution-choked highway. Don't bother, esp as they allow guests to become crime victims and at best refuse to help. I dunno, it's kind of how a shady place would treat a guest maligned falsely behind his back as some kind of vice squad guy?? Don't overlook any unacceptable annoyances--it just emboldens them. Lots of under the cove intrigue hwre. Why they'd encourage police involvement in a crime investigation instead of settling their naughty mistakes quietly should be a red flag to many! "When a hotel shows who they are--believe them!"
Lower East Side
My husband and I stayed at sixty les for our 5th year anniversary. The room was amazing! Very clean, well stocked bar and lots of snacks in the room! They were convenient... the prices for the snacks seemed high until you walk around NY and realize the prices are about normal. The view in the room was also amazing! The staff was friendly. We got to go on the rooftop to celebrate and they even let us be alone and made it feel special! The bed was firm but comfortable. There’s tons of restaurants near by. The only thing to keep in mind was the parking. Parking cost $75 a day and it’s a little walk(4 blocks) to the nearest parking garage. However we had a nice peace of mind knowing our car was safe in there. You can drop your luggage off in the lobby when arriving so you don’t have to carry it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is no room service because of Covid but if you need something they bring it right up to you. There was no issues with that for us. This is a true NY experience if that’s what your looking for. We was and extremely pleased we choose this hotel. Will definitely be back
Top notch experience start to finish. 3 college friends took a 3night 4 day trip to NYC. Starting with the reservations. We each booked separately using different methods and all got excellent rates and rooms ( booking.com, Amex travel, and hotels.com) . Before arriving, as I was somewhat hosting this get together, I inquired about getting an early checkin. I also requested a mini refrigerator,. There is no charge for that. You just have to request. They explained to me what to do to increase the likelihood of getting early check in. We had a very early morning flight and wished to change clothes and clean up a bit before heading out sightseeing. They made a note on each of our rooms that we would like early check in. I was told to call a number they gave me when we were in route from the airport. We did that and 2 of our rooms were ready early ( like 10:30 ish). There was a 3rd room available provided she switch from a king bed to 2 doubles which she did. The staff at the front desk was fantastic and check in was a breeze. When we were leaving they gave us clear concise information about our request related to taking the subway to the Brooklyn Bridge, including information on how to we could now use Apple Pay for the subway instead of needing a metro card. ( not all stations can do that yet). Our rooms..small and tight ( fine for 1 -2people)with amazing views. The design was really different than anyplace I’d been, but very efficiently laid out for use of space. My room had a king bed and the mini refrigerator arrived about 5 minutes after I got to the room. As you enter the bathroom is on yours right in a divided space with sliders like you might see on a double closet. One half has the commode and the other side is the shower. On the left as you enter is a full length mirror followed by a very modern sleek sink /vanity area with mirror above and open wrought shelving below that was stocked with towels and a blow dryer AND garment steamer. Ample plugs in the area for small appliances &/or phone. So probably the biggest difference from a typical hotel room was no closet or dressers or tables ( except 2 small night tables on both sides of bed). Attached the the wall was a pull down table/desk. Pretty cool. When you opened it on the back we’re fabric pockets for stuff like pens, phone , note pad , maybe even a tablet, and the table top is a good size. Plenty of room for a laptop and working papers beside, and again several outlets. A folding chair is hanging flush on one of the MANY pegs around the room. The pegs and provided hangers replaced a need for a closet. I actually loved this. I could put my outfits for the week including accessories on the pegs and visibly see them all laid out. I didn’t even bother with the hangers as the pegs were big enough ( subtle time saver hanging/unhanging ) . In addition, Ctrip, as such a large enterprise, actually had a problem that it was not confirmed after booking (but at the same time, it sent me a message to indicate that it was confirmed). It is also strange in New York today. It started at more than 9 o'clock in the evening, and there was a room of dozens of kilometers The rooms are gone, and I almost sleep on the street. Finally spent a night at the motel 50 kilometers away. As an old Ctrip user, I really don't know what to do with this account.
I stayed one night right before the COVID-19 lockdowns. I originally was coming for a business conference but the conference was cancelled. I thought the front desk representatives were very friendly and helpful, professional but personal, especially with all that was going on (uncertainty about the pandemic). I liked the hotel room, the decor, the cleanliness. I enjoyed the hotel roof bar, even the bartender there was very generous with recommendations on where to go and what to do because all of the big venues/Broadway was ordered to shut down. I am generally not someone who would go to a boutique hotel like this, but glad I got to experience something different from the large chains. I hope you like animal prints. I took pictures of the gym because it was the only pictures I could not find on the website. There is a stationary bike, treadmill, and adjustable bench with 3 racks of dumbbells. You're not coming to this hotel for the gym, but it is nice they have some variety if you need to get a quick workout in.
They advertised Complimentary Breakfast , that occurred once during our entire stay , that was Sunday. Told Monday and Tuesday - no food . Monday, ran out and the staff indicated they didn't have a credit card to buy more food. Tuesday a sign was posted indicating management changed the policy on Complimentary Breakfast. Arrived from CA on red eye at 11am Sat room not ready no big deal ( expected) . Came back at 3pm set up in Donna Reed rm 404 to a moldy bathroom that they would not let us move out of until Monday . Monday got moved to 402 where TV and bed were broken, phone did not work , moved again to another room 404 ( Ann Margaret) no working phone , but no mold in bathroom Complained to management Took pictures, have pictures which were provided to your staff This place has charm but not the charm it's advertising nor the pictures used to embolden the look/feel of the place. False advertising Requesting a refund as the staff lied consistently , forced us to stay in a health hazard room for an unnecessary amount of time. The day we left the contractor hired to deal with the moldy Donna Reed bathroom thanked us for the referral and work No face towels were ever provided after repeatedly being asked Channels available on your TV required re-scanning 2x a day to view properly The extra locks on the doors to the rooms don't lock , but not a worry as I room bound as I got was sick, so any one breaking in would have caught me throwing up in the moldy bathroom I've written to NYC BBB the NYC tourist board. It feels like this place went thru some sort of major management change from the time I researched booking this place to the time my party arrived
The hotel is at a great location and enjoys convenient travel. It is about 10 minutes walk from Times Square. The hotel is next to the flagship store of Macy's. The room facilities are readily available. Intelligent. Sound insulation is not good.
My wife and I stayed three nights recently while visiting our daughter in Brooklyn. Friends of ours had stayed here before and recommended it. Quaint, unique, converted residential building. Well done and very clean. The staff was very professional and attentive. Shout out to Greg, the doorman/driver, who did an incredible job. Gave us great advise on local restaurants, subway routes, etc. Very professional, personable, and friendly. Says something when you hung the doorman after checking out and say "Hope to see you again." A+ job. The available Mercedes courtesy car was a godsend. Will take you anywhere within a mile or so range (further if going to Williamsburg) AND pick you up. Even after tips probably saved us $100 on Uber. This will likely be our go-to place on future visits. Only advise I would give is avoid the first floor rooms by the front and side streets. Stayed here for a week post-hospitalization. Got a free room from NYC Office of Emergency Management. Thanks for making my stay very comfortable. About 10-15min walk to the nearest Yankee Stadium MTA train station. I was using more of Uber to get around since hotel is near Deegan expressway. Stayed in 2 queen beds, has mini-fridge, microwave, and in-room safe. Despite Covid-19 pandemic, housekeeping comes in almost everyday or every 2 days and kept my room very sparkly clean . Breakfast became limited, replacing buffet with 2 granola bars and 2 bottled water. Free wifi was fast. Kudos to all excellent friendly staff, special mention to the housekeeping staff.

The location was great and it was a great way to go from downtown to midtown.

Glad to have gone ahead with booking this hotel over staying in Manhattan or in an AirBnb. Room was on the smaller side, but had all the basics: comfortable bed, desk, TV, A/C, wardrobe, ironing board, hairdryer, clean bathroom. The private parking garage was a big bonus; we were camping prior to arriving in NYC and had a lot of gear in our car, and their underground parking garage felt secure (cameras). Less than 5 minute walk to metro (L line). No refrigerator in the room, but upon request, there was no problem with storing the food from our cooler in the hotel fridge. Breakfast was really great: cereal, toast, bagels, yogurt, tea, coffee, eggs, and even fresh waffles for the kid. Only downsides: shower did not work in our room (I was taking sponge baths anyways due to a nasty cut I got during camping), and the amount of plastic waste that was being generated during breakfasts. Recommend this hotel -- and bring a "zero waste" kit for breakfast (reusable plate, bowl, utensils)!

Before arriving I read the awful reviews this hotel had, but when we arrived I had an extremely good stay! We stayed at the hotel the week of Christmas 2017 and I remember the last night we stayed it was the last night they would be opened for some time because of the renovations. Our room was at the top floor, and I believe it was one of the only two floors that were renovated so far, so we got an renewed room and bathroom. It was very modern and the view was great, from both windows you could see the city, no walls to look at. The room was adequate for two people, and the bathroom was very spacious, compared to other hotels. The location was excellent! It is just two blocks from Grand Central Station! While on our trip I got really sick (I'm from the Caribbean, and the Christmas weather did a number on me) and on Christmas Eve I couldn't take it, so we decided it was time to visit a hospital... This was around 2:00 am on Christmas Eve, and the staff was very attentive, they wanted to call an ambulance, but we told them we only needed an Uber or Taxi, and they called on, and the next morning called the room to see how I was doing. Overall, we had a pleasant stay at this hotel, would definitely go back and recommend it!
The staff and location of The James is fantastic! But the room quality has seemed to decline. Our dead bolt was almost busted off the door, the blowdryer was a fire hazard, no bottle opener provided in mini-bar, dry cleaning tag and staples sticking out of comforter....not that any of these were major, but it all starts to add up! The food situation is also dire. The restaurant AND the Jimmy were BOTH closed down. Room service was bodega quality. Hope they can turn this property around to its former glory!
If you need to travel to NYC and looking for a boutique hotel with a world class staff, head to the Walker Hotel in Greenwich Village. Meghan is the Assistant GM and David is the Front Office Manager. They will treat you like family. These are uncertain times, so a sure thing in big comfort.
The inn is very good and has been rehabilitated with every detail to the historic character of the era. I have worked on historic preservation projects and this was such a great project that takes you back in time to a wonderful day of the old west.

This hotel is priced within your reach for New York. Public transportation is within 5 minutes close by to the city. Lots of good restaurants within the neighborhood. JFK airport is 10 minutes away. Strategically located.
