1.25km from PitStop CafeThe Old Farm Hotel has been a family favourite for many years hosting wedding, Christening and on this occasion, a small birthday celebration that had had to be curtailed due to Covid restrictions. Currently run by Nikki and Stephen, the hotel has been much improved and updated recently, combining more modern minimalist interiors with the traditional features of this beautiful Bournville building and garden. The hotel is not only Covid compliant but nothing is too much trouble for the polite, friendly and hardworking team. Beds were comfy and it was lovely to hear the chimes from the famous Art School clock in the village. Breakfast was tasty and delivered as requested, on time, to our socially distanced family table ‘bubbles’ in the dining room. A real home from home for us. Thank you for helping to create something special from the remnants of what was originally planned.

3.27km from PitStop CafeNot our first stay here and I am more than sure that it will not be the last either. Please don't go there thinking you will be in a posh hotel in a posh room, you will be disappointed, however if you go with the view of what you are paying for the room then I don't think you will be disappointed at all, it is cheap and cheerful, friendly staff and plenty of places to get food outside with a supermarket right across the road. . . And a great nights sleep too.

4.25km from PitStop CafeWe stayed 2 nights here, first night our son’s bed was broken, they had made this bed up knowing it was broken?? You have to ask why?. They Changed this room on Saturday afternoon to a new room! What we thought was better!!! Staff helpful though. But we soon found out to our cost that this room! Hadn’t been left ready for new customers! Only one towel not tea and coffee tiny bit toilet paper no soap We used the bath and it started to leaking so we couldn’t use this anymore There was a bad smell around the bed We couldn’t find it or pinpoint the smell at first so we went to bed 🛌 as we all had a very long day! It wasn’t until we were actually in bed that we could we smell sick on the bedding or duvet! We rolled this back as we couldn’t move at 11.30pm to another room as my son was asleep 💤 we had already moved that day, so for a two night stay to move three times would have been unacceptable. So we just turned down the bedding! We spoke to Shaun the manager on Sunday morning who was very good and helpful and went above and beyond to help us and understood what we were complaining about. Premier Inn customer services man was useless and couldn’t understand what had happened totally unacceptable, I have had to go to his Manager to get some satisfaction.
4.29km from PitStop CafeIt takes 8 pounds to drive from the Victoria Square in the city center to the hotel gate. The time is about 10 minutes. The hotel is located 3 minutes walk from the north gate and east gate of University of Birmingham. Inside, there is an authentic Western breakfast, lunch, and a separate hall. When you come here, you will encounter a British wedding and many academic exchanges. It is a great choice for business or tourism.

4.58km from PitStop CafeArriving after a stormy flight we were concerned to walk into a noisy lobby due to a wedding party but we requested a quiet room and as soon as we were through the double doors we couldn't hear a thing. Room fairly standard for this class of hotel but clean and the beds were comfy. Decent sized room and a good shower. We ate in the restaurant a few times and the food is incredibly good. Imaginitive, beautifully cooked and full of flavour. We moved to a cottage after a few days for family reasons but we went back for Sunday lunch twice, taking the family with us. We also booked a family event and the staff couldn't have been more responsive and effective. The chef met with us to discuss a menu and delivered a perfect mix of food. The event manager was attentive and it was so nice to feel fully confident of good customer service. All of the staff we dealt with were respectful, efficient and friendly. Very impressed. Thank you all.

5.7km from PitStop CafeFirst impressions count! When you arrive at the car park of this premier inn you are greeted with a car park / rubbish dump! It is absolutely disgusting. Overfilling skips, rubbish lying around everywhere, we really didn’t feel comfortable leaving our car. Also there were groups of boys racing around the car park on scooters (in between cars) and playing football next to the entrance of the brewers Fayre. We mentioned our horror at the cleanliness to the man in reception who stated that it is impossible to keep the car park clean with the type of clientele they receive! The filth continued in all public areas, the outside area was full of cigarette ends and the lift had rubbish in for the full duration of our stay. We booked this hotel for its location to Cadbury world, we live in Yorkshire so are not familiar with the area. We would under no circumstances stay here again with our young children. Dirty, noisy hotel with rude, unfriendly staff, who really couldn’t care less! Not recommended.
5.97km from PitStop CafeBooked the hotel for a 30th bday. Booked a luxury king room and on arrival was told we had been upgraded to the superior king suite! Stayed in room 2 which is beautiful! Rose petals had been sprinkled everywhere and arranged, which was a lovely and surprising touch. Staff were all really welcoming, helpful, friendly and didn’t mind the tons of balloons etc I had brought with me to display in the room. Everything was clean, and we had a very comfortable and luxurious stay. All the extra little finishes and touches in the room set this hotel apart from the rest, especially the bath tub! We also had drinks in the cocktail lounge downstairs, waiter was helpful and took the time to explain the menu and find us a cocktail which suited dietary requirements and personal taste. Can’t wait to stay again and check out the other rooms!

5.99km from PitStop CafeThe breakfast is very good. The room and bed are too small. This hotel is fast and there is no waiter at night. Only the waiter from the restaurant came to receive. Because I want an extra bed with my child, I can't add it without a waiter. The waiter said that extra beds must be emailed in advance.
Hotels Near Sophie'S Fast Food In Birmingham Review
Very bad attitude when checking in
I was blind and didn’t find the name of the guest, but I had to pay the room fee again, and finally found that my room was booked under the name of a colleague.
This kind of service is super poor, all with racial discrimination
Ctrip must translate into English and stay on the comments page of their hotel to avoid compatriots stepping on the pit
Disgusting service from the terrible male night shift staff with the racist attitude!
Birmingham Marriott Hotel is in a good location from the train station and it is 8 pounds 💷 there is a big supermarket hotel near the hotel. The service is very good. I don't know English. I use the translator to tell the front desk staff that they are very patient. The help of my hotel is very clean. The price of the hotel in Ctrip is not expensive. We have four rooms in one room. The two big beds have been lived several times. It is very satisfying and worth recommending to everyone.
There is a paid parking lot, no extra beds are possible, the location is very close to Chinatown, right in the city center, the checkin place on the first floor is a bar, very lively, will stay there next time
After a very frightening encounter with an intruder on February 20, I must highlight a serious security problem with the Premier Inn New Street hotel. Premier Inn are my favourite hotel chain, and I stay in their hotels many times a year. But the New Street hotel has a very unusual - and dangerous - design. Entry from the street is into a small foyer with NO STAFF there at any time. The foyer leads to lifts and stairs. I booked into the hotel for 4 nights (20-23 Feb) to go to an event which finished late each evening. On Thursday 20 February, I came back to the hotel just after 11 pm. I used my keycard to open the door to the stairs, to go to my room on the 3rd floor. I thought this would be a secure route, as only guests and staff with keycards should be able to access it. On the second landing, a man, in outdoor clothes but with his shoes in his hand, was trying to open the glass door which leads to the bedrooms, A keycard is needed to open this, and clearly he did not have one. I saw that muddy possessions were scattered around him, and suspected that he was one of the (sadly, many) homeless people based around New Street Station, who had somehow got into the hotel. I started to climb the next flight of stairs to my floor, and realised that he was following me . I am 66, weigh 8 stone and am not trained in martial arts! Fortunately, I can still run. I ran to the glass door to my floor, and used my keycard, which I had deliberately kept in my hand for quick use. I then slammed the door shut, just in time.Behind me, the man hammered on the door with his fist, and shouted at me at the top of his voice. I have no idea what mental state he was in, or what would have happened if he had caught up with me. He was only about two seconds behind me. There were no other guests or staff to be seen. I was extremely shaken. I locked myself in my room, and realised I ought to ring Reception at once. But there was no telephone with a number for Reception, nor was there a number on any of the hotel information cards in the room. Eventually I overcame shock, looked up the external phone number of the hotel and rang it. The member of staff on Reception was extremely helpful, and promised to investigate and log the call (which they did). The next day I spoke to the day manager on duty, who was called Alex. He could not have been more concerned and considerate. He confirmed that the incident had been logged, and said that he believed the intruder had been found. I was told later by Premier Inn's Customer Care team that the intruder had been described in the hotel log as a 'homeless person'. I must stress that I chose the stairs because the foyer to the hotel and its lift (which is often slow to arrive) are very insecure. By day, anyone can walk into the foyer after pressing the button. I believe that after 11 pm the doors are locked ,and in theory only guests can open them and enter. But I walked into the foyer just after 11 pm, without
I was bought this package as a gift and was bowled over by how lovely it was. We were greeted by the very friendly owner, Mary, with a glass of Prosecco. We then had a fantastic back massage. Our afternoon tea was very very generous and included multiple teas and coffees, a large jug of orange juice and melon to finish. The place is clean and modern and we were asked several times if we were happy with the music in the background and our tea. An absolutely lovely experience and I couldn’t recommend it enough.
The decoration style of the Crowne Plaza Hotel is consistent. Since we are going to the exhibition, we are very close to the nec exhibition center and it takes 10 minutes to walk. Next door is Birmingham Airport. Basically, people who come here for business are not interested in any sights.
There is a large party bar on the first floor of the hotel. You can also order some food. The breakfast is on the ground floor. There are not as many choices as domestic ones. They are more English style. What scrambled eggs, poached eggs, fried eggs. Ah, sausages, and so on.
The whole is quite satisfactory. . . It is also a business trip, not demanding
Small hotel restaurant features built-in, go out less than five minutes is the canal business district, a variety of restaurants is very good, the price of a family of three four hundred dollars you can enjoy the special bar ~ Less than five minutes around the National Aquarium and Legoland is entertainment city, especially for children, you can buy a ticket, will offer some of the ~ Location is very good, a variety of restaurants, Grand Canal, Commercial Street, everything ~ Parking fees 14.2 pounds for 24 hours, hourly charge different ~ Dan
My wife and I were fortunate enough to spend a night in one of the apartments in this great hotel! From the moment we arrived, we felt a little special! The check in was easy, and informative and the staff were very pleasant and cheerful. Our room was nothing short of exceptional. Clean, tidy and very spacious with all the amenities you would expect from a 5* hotel! We were fortunate enough to have an apartment on the top floor, with French doors leading out to a large patio, with stunning views of the city! Would recommend the small charge for the secure car parking on site. Certainly would stay here again when we are in the area, or even any of their many locations across the country or indeed abroad, if the same standard is the norm!
Very good hotel, clean, cost-effective and safe. I studied abroad in Birmingham ten years ago so I know this location is very convenient. Downstairs is Chinatown. Within 10 minutes walk to the train station bullring shopping! highly recommended! Although the hotel faces the street, the glass is double-glazed, and even the toilets are sound-proofed! The price of this hotel in the UK is really a bargain!

Snooty staff . But nice hotel . Staff reluctant to look after my luggage when I arrived early
Good breakfast, cost-effective. We lost the room card., The staff lets us check out first, without compensation! If there is a chance next time, I will choose this hotel again.
An excellent value hotel. I stayed midweek so cannot comment on what things are like at the weekend regarding guest’s behaviour mentioned elsewhere hereabouts. The room and public areas are clean, well decorated and perfectly acceptable. Reception was seamless and friendly. Quiet at night and bed very comfortable so slept well. All-in-all excellent value and centrally located. Oh, and free parking too! Now my new choice of hotel when in business in Birmingham. I’ll be back.
The location is very convenient. The exterior looks a bit old. It is very close to the train station. It is a 5 minute walk from Chinatown. It is also close to the Chinatown. It is also a 5-minute walk. The facilities are not as good as expected. It is suitable for children with extra beds. You can go to Chinatown to eat the recommended Taoyuan (roast duck). Rice) Pepper Chef (grill and salted bean flower) 熬 (first floor snack) 柒 (hot pot) tea rice home (dessert drink) 壹正烧 (Taiwanese food braised pork rice silver silk roll)
Breakfast is very good. The chef orders it now: omelet, shredded cheese, vegetables, mushrooms, etc. It's great. Other kinds of bread, fresh juice coffee tea. Meat has sausages, bacon. Peach apple, cantaloupe, pineapple and other fruits, a kind of Danone fruit yoghurt. All in all, including early value
Had stayed here recently for business purpose as not many hotels open around at the moment, was a bit hesitant to book the room here at first but it was a fairly good stay and room was not that bad, hotel is kept clean and tidy as well. Had no issue with noise either due to not many people staying because of current situation. Overall I had a good experience.
My booking was confirmed to stay the 26/06/20 at this travelodge, which I’d made that same day. I understand the stay was booked during COVID-19, although I am a key worker and was having trouble at home so needed a night away. When booking the hotel it said open to support key workers, in which I work in a dental practice for the NHS. I was able to provide evidence of this. Also when proceeding with the payment it offered me the option to select business or leisure, I chose leisure as the stay wasn’t work related. However when I arrived at the hotel and provided my indications that I’m a key worker they declined my stay as it weren’t for business, they said I could’ve only stayed there if the stay was due for work. I think this is poor of travelodge and the website for not mentioning my stay had to be work related just had to be a key worker. The payment still proceeded and even though it was a saver rate, I still think I’m entitled to a refund as it is false advertisement, by not stating clearly that the key worker has to be working the during the stay. Also it should not have give me the option to choose leisure during this time to still take my money. I can’t fault the reception staff as it weren’t their fault, they were helpful as they gave me a contact number to contact customer services and email, but I haven’t heard anything back after doing so straight away, I do understand this is a busy time. Regards, Eden.
More suitable for business travel, the room is too ordinary, just ordinary express hotel, buffet breakfast is also very average. The hotel does not have free parking. You can park in the opposite mall, but the parking fee is about 20 pounds. It is better to set the crown next to it and also bring free parking.
I once lived in Canada on holiday inn and I feel pretty good, but really it is a lot worse. But the room is still very clean, it is enough for business trip
I had this hotel booked months in advance for a concert at the arena opposite but obviously due to COVID everything is postponed, I decided to keep the hotel anyway and do a little shopping. The hotel looks very tired and in need of a transformation outside but inside was clean, tidy and the room was huge! Everything I needed was provided and the lady on the desk who I believe was called Marjorie was so friendly and welcoming & checked me in slightly early. We ended up chatting for around 15 minutes, she was so nice I popped to the Sainsbury opposite and purchased the staff some chocolate biscuits for their break! Only downsides were the bar opposite waking me up in the early hours emptying their bottle bins, so I’d definitely ask for a room on the opposite side if I stayed again, also the whole of broad street is closed off to traffic while they install the new tram system so you may have to go out of your way to the hotel around the diversions in place. Everything else was top notch and I’d definitely stay again, also...there’s a great Wetherspoon just down the street and a five guys which sells amazing burgers!
Not our first stay here and I am more than sure that it will not be the last either.
5 minutes from the train station, in and out of the card, very safe, the front desk to answer seriously, breakfast is continental breakfast, buffet, enough to eat, hot milk and hot water, kitchen with cutlery, you can cook for yourself
Booked online for £27.99! Arrived late so little car park in front or hotel was full but there must be 500 spaces in big car park 5 mins away opposite hotel. How one reviewer says parking was poor i don’t know. You take a token and next morning the travel lodge zap it and then when you leave it let’s you out for free! Room was clean and spacious, all look over the car park and not road. Retail park 5 mins drive away. Honestly it’s a great place for a quick pit stop!
The environment is good. Good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good. The environment is good. Good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good.
Hotel location is very good, just inside the school, the environment is also good & #128077; & # 127999;, around the Tesco supermarket, ten minutes walking distance from the city center! The room is small, the bathroom is small, the washbasin is the size of two lunch boxes, and the ground that will be washed will be all water! The bed is small and narrow, it seems to be about 1.3 meters, poor husband 1 meter eight people. . . However, it seems that Europe is such a room, so I don't say anything! Hotel breakfast tastes good! Baked bread is super delicious! Classic British breakfast variety, service is still very good!
So me and the boys decided we’d travel up the treaturous M6 to Birmingham, for a night out in broad street. Booked a room in this place and wow, it exceeded all of our expectations. The room was immaculate with plenty of space, and the shower was unreal. Staff were polite and very helpful, can’t really ask for anything more. Only issue was that there wasn’t a hair dryer for one of the more feminine lads, and we did struggle to meet the check out time of 10AM after a heavy night out on the #lash All in all, a top quality service, would highly recommend and I’m sure I’ll be returning frequently in the future. Thank you and god bless.
I specially booked a room for my boyfriend's birthday! The room is really big, hygienic and clean, all kitchen utensils are provided, but it is too hot. That location has been exposed to the sun.
Location was good just next to China town and a few minutes walk from city Centre and Birmingham new street station. Staffs were friendly they even gave us a bigger room when requesting for a twin bed. Security guards were there after 9 or 10 to make sure nobody enters the hotel except for those who live there thus it is safe. Amenities wise it was fair. Hotel is perfect for budget travellers
A lovely young lady named Brooke is always helpful, always smiling no matter what. Myself and my partner have come a few times now to this Premier inn and mainly because of the service we get from Brooke. I have noticed she works nights and for someone being on a night shift and being Jolly at all times is amazing. Most of the times we get fobbed off by staff, but she always goes that extra mile with her service and is so wonderful. We order food most nights and the takeaways don’t provide any cutlery and Brooke always gives us plastic cutlery wrapped in plastic wrappers. Love the fact she follows all the guidelines at the same time for covid 19 and makes us feel safe coming to the hotel. We wouldn’t go anywhere else and we have come and stayed a few times already in the week because of her. Can’t thank her enough and she is so much credit to the company.
This could be a quick review and I could sum up in one word - “Perfect” but as trip advisor wants at least 200 characters I’ll expand a little. I’ve now been several times over the years but thought I would add another review post lock down. I’m sure I’m not the only person that treats post lockdown reviews as the basis for decisions on where to go and stay. Tim and his team have done a wonderful job at making a stay at Clover spa a safe and relaxing stay as possible. Booking times for dinner and breakfast may sound limiting but seems to work well. On the subject of food I think that the food has got even better. It’s tasty and home cooked. Both the spa and hotel rooms are sparkling clean and re-cleaned regularly. Tim has a great team here who are friendly and helpful. To walk in after a year and a half and get acknowledged by name was a good start and continued during the stay. Not sure how Tim manages to recruit such a good team but they are a credit to him and Clover. I couldn’t do the review without mentioning to two wonderful massages that I had. Both were blissful can certainly feel the difference after them. The therapy rooms we’re were cleaned between each person and appropriate COVID precautions during the massage. The new hot tub installed this year is a great addition and plenty of room for social distancing in there, as everywhere at Clover Spa. The only thing that let the stay down was the traffic on the way home but as good as Tim and his team are they can’t control that. If you want somewhere you can go and shut the world outside then this is the place to go. I hope to be back soon. Thanks for a fabulous relaxing break.
Attended with family members for a sporting occasion . What an excellent hotel . Scrumptious breakfast , I was particularly impressed by the toaster effeciency . Other guests were charming: Lively local people around particularly on Saturday night . Ingenious key system and lovely staff. It wasn’t hot so we kept the windows shut , reducing risk of unwanted access. Keep it up!
