|2.44km from city centerWe've just stayed for 1 night pre cruise. The room is slightly dated but clean and comfortable. Plenty of room. Downstairs was nice. Clean and lots of space to sit and chill. Breakfast was nice. Staff were brilliant. Friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much. A few small issues with the room (nobody's fault just one of those things) the staff went beyond to help and accommodate us. Can't fault them at all. Thank you.

|2.2km from city centerWhen I booked, I saw the route closest to the school, but the airport bus went down and we carried the luggage for more than half an hour. If there is no baggage for about 15-20 minutes, the bus can take several stops. Pure English breakfast, breaded omelette bacon ham and potatoes, as well as some side dishes and small West Point, fruit milk cereal tea bags and so on are simple and clean, in short to meet the demand. Parking is available at the hotel entrance. There is no elevator in the three-storey building. Narrow stairs, on the day of check-in, a waiter at the front desk was very nice, helped us carry the luggage upstairs, because I came to study so I brought a lot of luggage. On the day of check-out, only one waiter was busy at the front desk, so our mother and daughter It’s really a shame for the two to move down from the third floor. It is suitable for children with a quiet night and the rooms are air conditioned.

|0.99km from city centerWe stayed at the The Star Hotel in October 2021 and again in Feb 2023 and nothing much has changed Good points Location is excellent Breakfast is really good Bed was really comfy and lovely clean sheets that smelled fresh £6 to park for a day in the centre of Southampton is excellent The team that we encountered for breakfast and the bar were great Ok points The room was cleanish on the surface but the decor needed attention also dust and dirt in all the corners Bar was open drinks were a good price £8.70 for a large wine and a pint Bad Points The bathroom looked ok on the surface but was actually dirty with manky hair on the floor , the fixtures are chipped , peeling and tired and the toilet roll holder kept on dropping on the floor and the ceiling had peeling paint and mould all over it . Wi-Fi rubbish I did mention it on the first night at reception but it didn’t improve over the two nights we stayed Saturday morning we were woken up with building work near our room and right outside my mums room never mentioned when we checked in. £50 deposit for damages , in my opinion nothing in the room is worth £50 so why charge ??? When I asked when it would refunded I was told up to 5 days Bad smell in the corridor to our rooms Heat in the hotel is phenomenal and in our room we couldn’t turn the radiator down as it was enclosed and was on all night We paid £300 for two rooms for two nights , it’s a lot of money for a bed and a breakfast not so sure we would stay again

We were greeted by Joe, who was most helpful and welcoming. We spent the day on a walking excursion and returned back to the hotel around 3 pm. Our chilled rooms were a welcome upon returning with temperatures reaching into the low 90s. We again were we greeted by Joe in the morning to take our breakfast order, call for a taxi, and brought our luggage down to the lobby for us. WOW, that’s great service! The hotel is small (only 10 rooms), with no elevator, and air conditioning only in the rooms. There is a lovely bar and delicious restaurant in this quaint boutique. With charming accommodations, wonderful service - thank you, Joe, convenient location we would recommend Ennios Boutique for unique stay.

I wouldn’t be able to stay again as I need good blinds/curtains blocking light in the morning as I can’t sleep in a bright room so I really didn’t sleep well at all which then affects your energy on the days out you have planned. Was also surprised by the cords on the blinds just hanging as this could be a fatal accident for a very young child. It’s an apartment so guests above/below etc may affect your stay, luckily my kids didn’t wake up with the noise in the evening coming from above so didn’t totally ruin our stay there. There were parking issues on a couple of the days due to other cars not parking correctly to allow room for more cars to fit where they should. White lines being painted to make the spaces more clear would really help. Normally when staying somewhere you get more complimentary items. There was some soap & washing up liquid but we wasn’t able to have a coffee/tea as soon as we got there as there weren’t any of the sachets similar to how you would get in hotel room.

|13.64km from city centerI had stayed in this hotel many moons ago when it was part of the to Marriott group, I understand it is now Ellite /Britannia hotels and there is nothing ellite about it. Check in time is 4 pm, and checkout 10 am, that gives six hours to clean and turn around the vacated rooms, So you would expect them to be absolutely spotless, room was clean enough, it smelled of smoking but went, when the windows opened, few hairs in the bath tub, the wooden cabinets smelled musty and dust on lamps, but the bed was clean and so was the bedding. On check-in I didn’t realise it was 4pm, I assumed it would be 2 pm or 3 pm at the latest. I asked if any of the rooms were serviced so I could check in early, I was told there were lots of rooms ready but you have to pay £20 extra to check-in early regardless of the fact they ready, I was due to be at a wedding at 5 pm, I had to accept the £20 payment, I was not impressed as this took my one night stay in this hotel to £189 for the night. In comparison I could get a one night stay in the Park Plaza, Waterloo for the same price in London! This hotel is not worth that much a night. The hotel was like a maze and had to go upstairs along creaky corridors carrying a suitcase case up more stairs with no accessibility by lift to my room (room 657) Room had the very basics cheap nasty shampoo, A few sachets of tea and coffee, towels but no bottled water. At night I could hear a few guests from other rooms, it didn’t disturb me. The pool is absolute mess, it had a pipe going from the hot water tap into the pool, which I burnt my bottom on and my husband burned his thumb, I can only assume the heater doesn’t work so it’s the only way they’ve got to heat the pool, The water didn’t look very good I wonder if the filter was working? In photographs on booking.com their shows a Jacuzzi, there isn’t one! there hasn’t been a working for more than 10 months, and the broken one has now been removed altogether, I think it’s very misleading. I don’t like to book a hotel without a pool and a Jacuzzi, I like to relax why I’m away from home. The pool look too scary to go into, and there was no Jacuzzi! Breakfast wasn’t too bad, Choice of cereals, fruit juices and cooked breakfast, no croissants or pastries. Coffee was horrible. Breakfast is advertised until 10am but they closed and locked the doors at 9:58, I only made it with 10 minutes to spare, it wasn’t explained me that breakfast actually ended at 10. I would assume people could still go for breakfast at 10 and still have time to sit down and eat, this is not the case! Would I stay here again absolutely not! it is probably a £50 a night budget hotel in the middle of nowhere unless you are playing golf I really wouldn’t bother. Disappointed that booking.com gives this hotel four stars.

The lady serving us (Marie) was very apologetic. She has a great sense of humour and made us feel very welcomed. On returning late she made sure we were served at last orders. Our room was very nice with a comfortable bed, good shower. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and well prepared. Would stay here again. Staff were great, especially Marie!

Breakfast time and selection booked. And wi-fi code. Shown to Room 1 Double en-suite. Keys explained, 1 for room and 1 main door for ease of coming/going. Room lovely, bed a bit soft for me but double so fine. En-suite with shower. Tea & Coffee facilities. Tv and remote. Plenty of plugs for charger and straighteners (hairdryer in room) Breakfast at 8.30, Full English with toast, jam etc and coffee! Cereal,yoghurt and juice provided also. Great experience and would definitely stay here again if I needed to. Mayflower literally around the corner 5 mins away and walk in to city approx 15mins for all restaurants etc

The hotel was quite busy on the Friday when I checked in and only one lift was working, but that really was a small niggle. The lift was repaired by the time I returned to the hotel in the early evening. The restaurant was great when it came to catering to my gluten allergy. There were a few options, and the guy at the front of house went the extra mile to check if the fish was fried in the same oil as non-GF food. Unfortunately, that was the case, and I'd suggest that either provision is made for a separate fryer, or the GF designation is taken off that item on the menu. But there were other things I could have, so it wasn't really a problem. Breakfast was excellent. The lovely young lady at the front of house took my order and explained that the chef would prepare it in a GF-section of the kitchen, so I'd have a 15 minute wait. It really wasn't a problem and it was well worth the wait. Beautifully prepared, generous portion. Friendly service. The room was fine. I loved pulling back the curtains in the morning and seeing the massive cruise ships in port. Only quibble was the pillows, but I'm picky. Otherwise the room was nice and clean, and I appreciated the a/c. I would definitely stay here again.

|1.2km from city centerWe booked this hotel at very short notice and had to pay quite a top rate for an Executive Double as there were only four rooms left. We were attending the Womens Euro 22 match at St.Mary’s Stadium in Southampton and there were no hotels close to the stadium. Particularly with parking. Knowing that there was extreme difficulties in parking at at the Stadium we asked the hotel to book us a taxi to and from the stadium at the times we requested. They did so and kindly emailed confirmation . The Hotel is situated adjacent to one of the Cruise terminal and is perfect for a pre cruise or post cruise stay and a handy cruise parking is available.it is also close by the city centre within walking distance. Our room was excellent, overlooking the terminal. It had air conditioning, safe, a king double bed, some complimentary goodies like a small bottle of Prosecco, water and Kit-Kats. The bathroom too was roomy with hand basin, toilet and walk in shower. Again all clean and tidy. There was a very small problem with noise from the terminal with the early arrival of a cruise ship but nothing untoward. We ate breakfast in the hotel which was included in the rate. There were excellent choices of fruit, yoghurts, cheeses, cereals and jams etc. along with good choices in the good old full English breakfast. All the items were well cooked and hot. Save the fried eggs which are always well done in most hotels unless individually cooked. It was do your own toast , coffee or tea. Again choices of all of these were available. Despite other reviews we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and have absolutely no complaints at all. It certainly compared favourably with the buffet style breakfasts on a cruise ship, of which we have done many. We found all of the staff friendly , helpful and courteous. Check in and out was very easy and there is a car park charge but that happens in other hotels too. Overal, although a little expensive our stay was enjoyable and pleasant.

|1km from city centerAfter an 7hr drive from Glasgow and booking with Booking.com a family room for me my husband and my son I was under the impression the balance had been paid. On arrival we were met with the housekeeper who spoke very little English and presented me with a piece of paper asking for a further £20. I advised I had paid in full to which she gave me a mobile telephone number for the owner who was taking a trip. The housekeeper gave us the key and told us our room number. Once in the room I telephoned the owner and explained my situation who proceeded to tell me I now owed £40 and that she was about to board a flight. I advised I would contact booking.com as an error must have been made to which she agreed for me to do. Literally 5 minutes later the housekeeper came to the room to ask for the key to be returned. My husband was on hold to booking.com and I phoned the owner who said if I don't pay the £40.there and then I was to leave the room. I had no choice other than to pay the £40 as my son was tiered and we were due to board a cruise the following day. Room itself was dated but fine however the attitude of the owner was disgraceful and for this reason only I will never return when sailing again from Southampton. The error was with booking.com however I was not given the time to sort this out it was a case of pay up or get out!

We took a bus from London and the hotel was about a ten minute walk from the bus terminal. We also did some exploring by train and the train station was also a short walk away. The ”old town” area is nearby as is a huge shopping center. The cruise ship was less than five minutes away by Uber. We checked in at the bar and were quickly on our way to our room. This was our first stay in a Moxy. The room seemed unusual to us, but perhaps that's the Moxy way. There were no drawers, no closet, hooks on the wall for hanging clothes (hangers provided), one shelf on each side of our queen bed and one sheft on the opposite wall. There is a night light under the bed that is activated by a motion sensor. I never saw that before but it worked well. The room had very strong WIFI and there were lots of charging ports for electronics. The bed was quite comfortable. The shower was quite small but had a powerful stream and consistent temperature. There is no tub. The small lobby has books, puzzles, and more. There was even a guitar there (perhaps inviting someone to play?). Breakfast at the bar was included and I thought it was pretty good. I'm happy that we chose this hotel. We'll certainly return for our next Southampton cruise.

We usually stay at big chain hotels so weren’t sure what we’ll get, but decided to give it a shot and don’t regret it! The rooms have everything you need and a great TV, very quiet (especially considering the location), and the owner is absolutely lovely. Thanks a lot to her. We’ll come back if we are in Southampton again.

I've just recently stayed at the Waldorf Hotel in London and the Shower in my room was far superior to the one in the Waldorf. It was good value for money for the boatshow weekend £222 per foom for two nights. We had a few issues with room cards etc however Maddison the receptionist politely & efficiently sorted them out and is a credit to the hotel. We will definitely be stopping next year for the boatshow.

Check in time is quite late at 16:00 but I checked in online and received an email at 15:15 to say my room was ready. Lovely executive room with a balcony overlooking Southampton. Nice touches like a handwritten welcome note with chocolates on the bed and a Nespresso machine in addition to the kettle and tea/coffee facilities. Very comfortable bed and a very quiet room despite the hotel being full. Prompt, attentive service from the bar and they went above and beyond by fetching Worcestershire sauce to add to my guests tomato juice! I was delighted to see that the bar area has been decorated and the hotel generally was looking more loved with signs of investment. The pool and spa area has also been decorated and was generally looking smarter. It is great that the pool is open from 06:30 to allow a swim before breakfast. The breakfast buffet in Leo's was excellent with a good range of food available. Plenty of freshly cooked hot items available for the full English with smiling, friendly staff toping items up as required. Congratulations to the management for all your efforts in these difficult times for the hospitality industry, these are certainly paying off. I hope that those who have had a less positive experience than me will give you another try. I will certainly be back.

The description on Trip Advisor and elsewhere states: “Set in acres of beautiful countryside, our hotel offers the best of breathtaking scenery” Surrounding the hotel are multiple housing estates and new roads being constructed. I appreciate they don’t control what goes on around them, but please don’t market yourselves as something you are not. My view from the single window was also of a relatively new housing estate, bright street light and at the time a member of staff standing there smoking whilst staring at our bed. Not a great start. Upon arriving, we were allowed to check-in early, which was appreciated. However, as a family (visiting Peppa Pig World) we purchased a package deal - and we had the distinct feeling that we were allocated a special ‘out of the way' room in the ‘out of the way’ wing where they stick the package holiday customers. The room was downstairs and along a long corridor. It was dark and somewhat depressing. The room itself was much the same. The chairs were too dirty to sit on, one of the pillows had some horrible red staining on, the air-con was weak and one of the bedside units (next to my 5-year-olds bed) had a couple of pin nails sticking out ready to split a head open in an instant (I bent them over to avoid this for future guests). The TV didn't work and and there were minor issues, such as holes in the curtains and bed sheets It just felt tired. My worst experience came when wanting to watch my little girl swim with her mum in the pool, but I didn’t want to swim myself. I asked a member of staff if that was possible. He blanked me. I asked again, and there was complete silence - making me feel very uncomfortable. Almost in a ‘why would you want to watch’ kind of way. Still no answer from the staff member. If it hadn’t been my daughter's birthday he’d have been pulled to one side and given a lesson in customer service whether he liked it or not. Clearly rude, and not overly bright. Slight positive, they were accommodating when allowing us some plates for my daughter's cake in our room and a little bit of ice for our drinks. And, the bathroom was quite clean and other than leaky taps it all seemed to work well. We would have ordered food, but some was £30+ a dish, plus a £5 tray charge. I’m happy to pay for good food, but not for a hotel that talks a good game when it comes to their food, but can’t even deliver on a decent cooked breakfast (the sausages were dreadful) - and I very much doubt any was organic, which apparently is if possible…. A few staff members were very friendly, and a few were not. Was it a truly horrible stay? No, but it was certainly forgettable. It would be fine for a business stay, but it’s NOT family-friendly, and feels very dated. It was trying to punch well above its weight. As a dad, my mains concerns for a 'family room' were: 1) Pin nails by the bedready to cause injury. 2) Child's bed pushed up tight against the radiato

|1.19km from city centerI rented out one of the apartments this weekend just gone 27 th-30th Aug and was appalled from start to finish , firstly I have never known a check.im system like the one run by these people, not once did we see anybody, I had mailed 3 days before our stay to find out how to check with no reply , I had a message via what's app 2 hours before check in asking for picture Id from both of us as was with a friend , then got to the apartments to a message on the front door to call the number , I called to say we had arrived thinking someone would come let us in but instead I got a message with instructions on how to get into our apartment, so we finally get in lovely kettle on we then start to find little things wrong , no bathroom lock , shower mouldy, toilet not flushing properly, thd lino on kitchen was coming up which was a hazard especially as I am disabled, then we go.out and the door handle come off in my hand so I took pics and sent to the what's app number I had , was told sorry and that maintenance team woukd be on it next day. I then get a emal to say they had taken payment for the apartment but the amount was £50 more than we had booked it at do.i messge to be told its booking.com fault and that they would contact them , I am still waiting in mean time Sunday I actually did fall because of the kitchen lino so am niw feeling very sore and it's done my already painful back worse and nit done much for my hip where I had replacement last September, have also pulled muscle and whiplash toy meck , I have mailed in a complaint and also asked via what's app if this has been revieved but I seem to now be being ignored , the whole weekend apartment wise was a disaster and Sunday spoilt because I was in pain and cud not move my neck. Also for info the fridge and microwave were not in the kitchen but in the living bit where beds were and the fridge is very noisy , pics on booking.com do not look the same as what u get and parking is awful, did not get parked outside property l weekend apart from when we arrived. This pleasant hotel offers leisure facilities, exceptionally clean rooms (though not in the main house on all the promotional brochure) . We booked as a last minute de stress trip and felt very relaxed afterwards. The staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble especially Chetna on reception. Dinner in main restaurant was exceptional each course delicious. The surrounding grounds are beautifully kept and I d guess they d get booked very often for functions and corporate events.

After a busy week of organising a surprise party this was a very welcome break. I would like to thank the following people: Ellie for putting up with my initial grumpiness having discovered the evening dinner service was cancelled and organising a booking at a local pub for the birthday meal; the lady on reception for be so welcoming (sorry did not get your name); Dan for getting our firepit started (I definitely need one of those gadgets!) and Sandy for bringing us a lovely breakfast and plenty of coffee.
