We stayed here for a week during our summer holiday this year. Check in was quick and efficient and the girls working on the desk were helpful and friendly. We were fortunate to get a great room overlooking the pool with a large balcony (room 220). The room had a double bed and a bunk bed which was ok for us but wouldn't have been ideal if we had smaller children. The minibar was very reasonably priced and had space for us to put our own drinks in (such as fresh milk and extra water). The room was spotlessly clean and traditional Italian in style. The pool was quiet for most of the day and we always managed to get sunbeds without any problems. One point to note is that the pool is closed during the restaurant's opening hours, between 1-3 and after 7pm. The waterfall was also never switched on other than during a thunderstorm. This was slightly disappointing as the children would have liked to play in this more. Breakfast is good, and there is always plenty of food. The choice is not the greatest but is more than sufficient and we all ate well. We ate pizza twice in the hotel restaurant and both times it was good, although the cover charge was slightly higher than other places. We were also able to take pizza to our room and order drinks to take up to the room although we had to ask to find this out. One more thing to note was that there was a bbq most nights under our balcony. This meant that we couldn't sit out or leave clothes out to dry. Overall we had a great stay and will definitely think about coming again next year.

I booked 4 nights at this hotel for myself and my wife well in advance because of its excellent reviews. The room was great, it had a balcony overlooking the city of Orosei and right above the restaurant patio down below. The problem with that was that all the street lights were making the room too light to sleep and the noises from the restaurant below were too loud and continued at least until midnight. What's the problem one might ask: close the balcony door and use the curtains or shades, right? Well, the shades we not functional - stuck in the upper position. I reported it to the management the very next morning after the check-in day. I was promised to have it fixed. Nothing happened. The beach blankets we put up to shield off the city lights didn't quite do the job. The next morning, at breakfast, I inquired about from one of the staff members. I was told that as soon as we left for the beach but no later than 10 AM, technicians would arrive to fix the shades. We stayed at the beach late and returned to the hotel at 6 PM. The technicians were still in the room and were just about to leave. The shade was still not working. They replaced the motor but apparently it was the electrical switch that was faulty. That required an electrician. When I asked the staff member who was present there if could have a different room, I was told to wait for the manager to come and talk to me. I waited for about 15 minutes but no one arrived. I decided to go down and look for the manager. Sergio, the manager, was right outside the reception area. He started retelling me what I had already heard from the technicians. When I mentioned that they had two days to take care of that, Sergio "blew up". He started yelling at me, poking me with his finger, telling me if I didn't like it I could just leave the next morning. I stayed calm throughout his outburst and followed him to the reception. He kept on yelling that he didn't have a magic wand ("bacchetta magica"), got right into my face and was poking me with that imaginary magic wand. I still kept my calm and told him he could not just throw me out of the hotel for complaining about room problems and if he did I was not going going to pay for my stay. That apparently agitated him even further so he yelled out "get out now, you have five minutes to pack up and leave". At that point, I realized that continuing the conversation was of no use. I went upstairs, we packed up and left. It was 7 PM by then. We drove for almost 3 hours to our next destination in Cagliari where the hotel we were only supposed to go to 2 days later, thankfully, had a room available for us. Upon our return to the States, I saw that Gli Ulivi charged my credit card. I completed the online contact form on their Web site protesting it. Within 5 minutes I received an email from, you guessed it, Sergio! Here's what he wrote "I was the one who chased you, you are a rude cafe who has no respect for the people who work, it's also g

We very nearly didn't consider this hotel as the price was under half of everywhere else in the area! There must be something wrong with it we thought - but it was fantastic. From the initial drive up the lane and being met by what looked like a younger version of Carson in Downtown Abbey, he proudly took us to our room which was lovely. The pool is one of the best we've found at a resort and the restaurant and bar area very pretty and quaint. We will definitely stay again! A couple of useful tips:- Location: We put the postcode into Google Maps and it sent us down a horrible track quite some distance from the hotel. It was stupid of us because we were so busy obeying Google that we completely missed a large sign pointing to the right! So, after crossing the narrow bridge, take the first right turn and don't go further on like we did! Sockets: We'd assumed that all sockets in Europe were the same but they're obviously not. The majority are like the picture but we did find one of the type to fit our adaptor in the room down by a bedside.
