We travel for work very often and for an extended period of time. The staff here at the Residence Inn in Springfield were GREAT! Christina and Robin were so friendly and welcoming and always ready to help in any way they could at the front desk. We started each day in the morning at breakfast with the The "Golden Girls" Cindy, Tina, Donna, and Rhonda. What a good group of friendly ladies. We were always greeted with a smile. They truly care about pleasing the guest. The ladies made us feel like family sitting at their breakfast tables. Shelton in maintence was always busy cleaning everything inside and out. From ice machines,to carpets,to floors and always greeted you with a smile wanting to know if you needed anything..Thank you for making our stay feel like home !!!!!

Since my granddaughters were having a slumber party at my house, my husband and I decided to get away! We had Wyndham Reward points that we used to stay at this hotel. I had read the reviews and decided to give it a try. We were able to check in early and the girl at the front desk (don’t remember her name) was very nice. She gave us directions to the nearest Wal-Mart, so we could stock up on drinks and snacks. The only bad thing is refrigerator was not getting cold in the room so we request to get another one so they arrange which is very nice. They did offer to let us keep things in their refrigerator with our room number on them, but we declined. The room was very nice and clean. They did have complimentary internet, but we didn't need it as we were escaping from the real world! We had forgotten tooth brushes which they had available, also complimentary. The king size bed was incredible as well as all the pillows! Complimentary breakfast was fine. I was hoping for a waffle maker though. :) Anytime we need an overnight getaway, this Microtel Inn is where we'll be!

The rooms look like they have been updated and the facilities are pretty good. The room cleaning needs to be strengthened. There are hairs on the bedside tables, and there are biscuit crumbs and thick dust on the chairs and tables. The breakfast waffle machine is broken, and the oranges have been dried and flattened, and they are really stingy... Except that the room is not cleaned in place, everything else is good. The hotel of this brand still maintains a certain level.

While we knew that Hilton Hotels were taking extra steps due to COVID, it was still interesting to see things like a seal on the room door itself as well as wrapping up the TV remote control. Since there were not that many people in the hotel, it was nice and quiet and we were only there for one night. They did not offer coffee in the lobby like usual, but at least they still had a stocked Keurig machine in our room, as well as a microwave and refrigerator. While it’s minor stuff, we got a laugh out of their outdated channel guide at the desk, for example, it mentioned ABC Family, a channel that hasn’t existed since 2016. While the room was fine, I still need to remove one star because the pool and exercise room were closed. At the time of the stay, they were allowed to be open in Illinois. There’s no reason they couldn’t have been open with just precautions put in place. While I wasn’t expecting the breakfast buffet to be open they instead offered a lame breakfast combo with a sandwich for around $8. When we were looking at it the front desk clerk came over and told us not to bother and we would be better off going across the street to McDonald's and we did!

We stayed at Red Roof Inn, Springfield in March 2020 whilst travelling Route 66. We booked a king room on Hotels.com prior to arrival. Check in was quick and we were given the keys to our king room - non smoking. When we opened the door we were immediately hit with the smell of stale cigarette smoke. We went back to reception and told them the situation and he offered us an accessible king room. The room didn’t smell as bad but there was still a musty smell about it. The carpet was also filthy, as was the bed cover. The towels were also a shade of grey instead of white. We didn’t get much sleep that night, as the people in the next room must have been chain smoking insomniacs. They were going outside every 10 minutes all night for a smoke (unfortunately for us their door creaked every time it was opened) and their cigarette smoke filtered into our room via the air con. Needless to say we checked out first thing. When the guy on reception asked if we had a good stay, we told him what happened and he said he couldn’t control what the guests did. If I had to give any positives, there was a microwave, fridge and coffee maker in the room, but we stayed well clear of them to be honest. The bed sheets under the dirty cover were clean and the bed was comfortable despite the lack of sleep. Needless to say, I would NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE. Please heed my advice and stay elsewhere. You will regret it if you don’t.

I was attending an out-of-town conference and my plans to stay with family fell through at the 11th hour. I was fortunate to find a Best Western that had rooms available. I was impressed by the kindness and caring of the front desk staff both during check-in and check-out. They made me feel welcome and valued. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I really loved this hotel a lot. I was exhausted from driving and playing all day with my kiddo at the City Museum in St. Louis this last weekend, and by the time I got to Springfield I didn’t think I could make it all the way home. I found this place quickly and it was extremely reasonable in price. The lady working at the front desk was really nice, she was the only one working at night, I think, but I came to ask about laundry and she came right to the desk and told me to let her know if I needed anything else. I’ve had some bad experiences at smaller hotels where the staff isn’t always happy to see you especially if they’re low on other workers around but that wasn’t the case here at all. The room was bigger than I expected, I booked a double queen suite and it had a couch and extra TV like a tiny living room near the bathroom which my two year old loved a lot. The breakfast was standard and tasted good. The beds were so comfortable I wanted to stay and sleep in instead of getting back on the road. I’ll definitely stay here again on my out of or into town!

Enjoyed our two night stay at the Inn. Comfortable room on the second floor with an outside balcony where we enjoyed a well-coming glass of wine. Room was very clean and comfortable with individually controlled heat. Evenings were spent in the parlor in front of a warm gas fire place, playing board games. Breakfast was limited due to covid precautions but still very satisfying and safe, including fruit, yogurt, pastries and more. There is a refrigerator on the third floor for guest use. Elevator provides easy access to rooms, although we only used it to bring in our luggage. The stair case is very wide and easy to use. Large parking lot and good wifi through out. Inn is waking distance to the Frank Lloyd Wright home and a short drive or even walk to the downtown area. Skip the chain hotels on the outskirts of town and enjoy this historic property

We stayed at the President Abraham Lincoln Hotel for a third and LAST time in March 2019. On previous occasions, we have enjoyed our stay at this hotel. However, our most recent stay proved to be second rate and classless. We had heard that an immediate family member was ill and had to return home early. We booked 3 nights, but only stayed 2. On our second night, we went to the front desk to let them know that we would be departing a day early due to a family emergency. Considering all of the concern right night with the Corona Virus, we expected that the hotel would understand. In fact, we have never had an issue with checking out early at any reputable chain hotel. This was not the case here. We talked to Jonathan who I believe was a front desk manager. He very unsympathetically informed us that he would still have to charge us a ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR early check out fee! Obviously, we let him know that we thought this was unreasonable, especially at this time (Our room rate was around $130 plus tax). He kept stressing that he was trying to help us by charging this amount (???). After some discussion, he said he MIGHT be able to lower that fee to $75. We ended up simply walking away from Jonathan, as he continued talking about why he needed to charge this fee. He was obviously no help and we felt we were being taken advantage of. We are Hilton HHonors members so we called their customer service department and it seems they contacted the hotel and worked with Jonathan to waive the fee. That was an hour of stress placed on us, unnecessarily by a greedy hotel trying to take advantage of a bad situation. Based upon the way the hotel treated us we will NEVER stay at this property again. The rooms, by the way are getting a little worn too. I am including a couple of photos with this review to illustrate. We look forward to patronizing one of the 13 more highly rated hotels in Springfield on our next visit.

We decided to go with my Sister and Brother in law to the Decatur Illinois Farm Show the day before and knew that getting a room to stay at the evening before was going to be very difficult so we started looking early that afternoon and we found the Motel 6 in Spring Field Illinois had a couple rooms available. When we asked the price we were shocked at how reasonable it was, then when we arrived the rooms were very nice for a $60.00 a night room. I am very impressed with this motel!

Every visit to this Ramada is a delight. The staff is cheerful and helpful. Even with a full house, the desk staff was happy to help with any inquiry I had. The room was spacious, and tidy. The breakfast provided was delicious - many options, nice hot coffee, and a clean neat breakfast room, even though the hotel was fully booked. Highly recommend this hotel.

Felt welcoming as soon as I entered the lobby which, by the way, is bright and airy. The desk agent was pleasant and helpful. My room was clean (thanks to Lesley), bed was comfy, and there was a fridge and microwave. The bathroom was equipped with toiletries and plenty of towels. If all the Hamptons are like this, I will seek them out on my next trip. I was a senior traveling alone, and I felt safe and secure at this hotel. My compliments to the staff for an enjoyable stay.

Where do I begin with the list of "wrongs" that occurred during this hotel visit. RM 122 was at the end of the hall. There was no smoke detector in the room; only wires hanging from the ceiling. I called the front desk and they came to install minus a ladder. Not sure how that was going to work...He must have planned on standing on the beds and/or rolling chair; both unsafe. He came back with a ladder and installed. The bathroom was not properly cleaned. The shower wall had a residue that was easily wiped off, but hadn't been done. The caulking had mold and the tub had hair in it. Now to the very bad stuff. My family was awakened at about 2 AM to very loud music and commiserating right outside our window. I got dressed and was able to speak to the front desk clerk, Dustin (who was leaving for the night). The hotel apparently doesn't staff people from 0200-0700. My opinion is that the people outside were aware of this and knew there would be no repercussions for their actions. I explained that entire situation to the clerk, Dustin. Dustin advised that he didn't see an issue with me being moved, but it would have to be the next day. He wrote a note for Calvin the manager and advised me he would be in the next day (Saturday morning) between 0800-0900. Dustin said nothing to the people outside and their fun continued and the partying got louder. I called the local police. I've never had to do that at any hotel/resort I've frequented. The police came and the music stopped. Then they had young children loudly running around until I called the police again. We finally went to sleep, but it was now almost 4 AM. We had to leave for our game by 6AM. The hot water tank went out on Saturday. Great! The general manager, Calvin never called, though I was told that he would call and would be in by 2 different clerks. Gracie, another desk clerk, was quite specific. She said Calvin was on his way in our may be on-site amcg she just hadn't seen him. He would call me in 20 minutes. I waited an hour. Paid Gracie another visit and overheard the couple in front of me lodging a complaint as well. Seems that their room was double booked. They found out at 1130 the previous night when someone walked into their room while they were sleeping. We could not stay there another night. They were overbooked, couldn't move us, offer any compensation, and couldn't assure that we would not hear the obnoxiousness again. We felt unsafe and unprotected. This place was beyond bad

The staff were very polite and accommodating. The rooms are larger than I've ever seen, especially at the price and kept clean and up to date. The room also had a fridge, iron, iron board, coffee maker, separate vanity from bathroom, hair dryer, etc. The outside front has a sitting area, and the indoor pool has an outside sitting area. Really nice place. I would stay here again!
