Good location but it located near event hall. I found a loud noise until midnight. Hotel is near the mosque too and you will heard the worship at 6am. everyday but I think it’ s OK because of too short and shown Penang multicultural. Staffs are very nice. They will say Hi with you every times we meet. Room is so big and clean.

Stop searching and book this place immediately, it would be your best bet for the best of what Penang has to offer. The UNESCO World Heritage Award shines brilliantly in the area’s restructuring efforts, from the windows to the wall, till the sweat drips of every person involved in the remake of this absolute gem. Everyone in their right mind knows that Penang has a notorious reputation for being a food haven, and the location of this gem is another point of contention. Steps away from hearty nasi kandar, a short stroll from famous char koay teow, and wash the heat away with ice kachang that has been around for almost as long as the building itself, all within 10 minutes walk! You could even head to Chowrasta market for souvenirs to bring home, and you’ll still barely break a sweat. The staff members of this charming property also deserve the highest of praise, striking a sincere balance of being helpful and respecting privacy. There is therefore no excuse to be looking elsewhere, you’d be having a hard time trying to get the best of all worlds. From the rooms, to the locations, to the people, charming is the understatement of the year, and I look forward to coming back whenever I seek for a short getaway!

It started off rough. Got into the hotel early to leave our luggage and the guy manning the check in was cold, standoffish, and didn’t even bother replying to our pleasantries. When we returned, a misunderstanding ensured. Cos of my earlier encounter, I was just unreasonable. But thank goodness for Suhaila (I think) and her manager - they deescalated the situation with grace and aplomb. That bump aside, I had a lovely time. Was in room 213. Initially I was worried because I have read about noise issues coming from the club next door. But either the club was closed or the soundproofing worked, there were no disturbances. We slept like babies. The room was beautiful, and the location is amazing. This hotel is highly Recommended. Just don’t bother to pay extra for the breakfast. That was just too sad. We tried it on our last day in the hotel as we were leaving early for the airport. It was dismal.

Walking distance to almost everything in Georgetown: blue mansion, little india, St. George Chapel, Fort Cornwallis, Queen Victoria’s Clock Tower, etc. Lots of restaurants around. The hotel is small with two levels only. The room is clean and in good shape. It is not sound proof though. You can hear noises from outside and in the evening, the lights from the hallway comes through the lover glass above the door. A bit disturbing especially if you can’t sleep with lights on. If they could turn if off after midnight, would be great. Hot shower is excellent but the positioning of the shower is a bit weird. Right on top of the toilet. They provide towels, shampoo/body wash and lotion and tv but so far only sports channel is English. Hot and cold water for drinking is outside the ally. They also have a coffee shop that is open early in the for breakfast until afternoon. The mosque is right next door and the first prayer of the day starts at 06:00hrs.

1 double bed, 1 single bed, front desk is a cute girl who can speak Chinese, it's great, the isolation is Shantou Street, and I will not worry about eating sooner or later. Cheap price, book an extra night immediately. Just don't have an elevator to take care of your luggage.

I was looking for accommodation that is near to the Heritage area and found this hotel. The location is very good. You are almost at the central of many things. Going to Penang is about enjoying their food and within 500m you can get so many choices from local, fusion and international. You get everything for a home, fully equipped kitchen except for a diswasher. An induction hob and a microwave is provided complete with pot and pans. So if you wish to cook, just go to nearest market and buy the ingredients. There is a two door refrigerator and not the usual mini bar fridge. No need to go to laundry, they give a washing machine in the unit. Super convenient if you plan to stay longer. The unit is spacious for a family of four but there is only one room with queen bed. So the kids can sleep with extra mattress or at the couch. Wifi is present but not as fast but good enough for you to browse and read email. One issue that will be a challenge is parking space. The hotel is a converted shoplot next to a busy street, so the authority has removed the parking in order to widen the road. You can go and park by the road side at the smaller street. A bit problem during day time but not really an issue after 7pm. If you are not driving, then no issue at all. Overall, it is a good place and value for money.

The white elevator is very unique to this elevator. Tho it was slow but I don’t mind bec it so chic with glass door. Very unique indeed! Love it though I wasn’t able to take pic. 😒 +++ white elevator, water refilling dispenser, very spacious room & bathroom +++ location was quite away from the main action but there are 2 bus stops nearby, komtar & chowrasta are 5-10mins walk +++ they provide dental kit, small soap, nice shampoo/conditioner & body wash, mugs, electric kettle, safe, ref, ac was functioning very well, room telephone, tv but i did not use it +++ free wifi was good —- reception is not very friendly except for 1 Indian guy who promptly answers whatsapp tho he mistaken me for a guy at first 😄, the chinese receptionist hardly smiles, indian lady seemed to not know anything when you ask about tourist spots (i think hotel people should equip themselves with some knowledge on tourism. I mean there should be basic orientation by management on this. Times had changed and you need to have these extra customer service, just suggesting). —- i was in the assumption that cleaning is daily but i was told every other day but i still need to remind them about it. Entire hotel can use some improvement in the cleaning — no closet inside the room, you just have to hang your stuff —- my view was a huge wall —- soundproofing is bad, very noisy when people close doors or children running around. You hear toilet flushing from nearby rooms —- it was raining when I arrive and nobody offered an umbrella except on the second day when the janitor heard me. That was appreciated very much. It also made me realize that umbrella is a weapon for solo travellers so that made the carrying a little easier —- towels smell mushy maybe bec of rainy season —- sometimes bathroom had some drainage smells —- food choices was a little limited in area unless you walk for like 5-10mins. Overall stay was still on the good side. I had way worst stays than this. I did enjoy my solo trip to Penang and would love to go back. I plan to stay next time near the street art areas where the actions are. I would still recommend le embassy to other travellers.

Very good, very cost-effective. First of all, the hotel is not big, so they take good care of each room and guest. The Indian brother at the front desk was very enthusiastic, introduced us to the focus of Penang and marked them on the map one by one. The second hotel is in a very good location, close to Shantou Street, very convenient to eat. Not far from all the attractions, this location is very good. The third room is well equipped with high quality spare parts and facilities. Highly recommended.

I booked two rooms to plan to travel with my cousin. As a result, I had to live in the hospital. The room could not be cancelled, but the hospitalization certificate was uploaded as required. After a week of coordination, the hotel finally refunded a room. These praises Ctrip's responsible follow-up. Another room cousin stayed, said the old hotel, the space is small, the air conditioning is not cold for a long time. The hotel quickly found a little black to repair a lot of dirty things. . . . It is cheap and saves a lot of time costs in the sights. In addition, there is a Chinese in the front desk, which is better for communication.

Despite reporting this issue to the receptionist, who insisted it was operational, I was even unable to receive messages on WhatsApp. The room, while somewhat compact, is manageable for a brief stay. An odd design choice is the air conditioning unit, which is positioned directly opposite the bed. This made it uncomfortable to use at night, as the airflow directly targeted the sleeping area.

First experience with capsule hotel bed and dormitory with 3 other lovely female travellers. Fortunately, it was an experience exceeding all expectations!! First WOW - look at all the cultural heritage, beautiful art, antique items and furniture, the Feng Shui Koi pond, water fountain, greenery! OMG- better than visiting a museum- you get to live and experience it!!! Second WOW- looking for street food? Walk around and you see stalls selling the local delish: SATAY, Lok Lok, Char Hor Fun and other stalls. Also, the handicraft stores with Batik and wooden sculptures! Other amenities : open swimming pool, 3 shower room next to it and hair dryer (tip: the water pressure and shower much more satisfying compared to bathtub or shower inside dorm room, and a game/ relax room filled with couch to wind down after a tiring day. and just Final WOW- the receptionist and staffs are helpful and well-informed! Guests were invited to join in the fun and you can see guests lounging in the open, relaxed and chatting with the staffs! Room for improvement: mosquitoes... can't seem to get rid of them ( so be prepared) and the places are considered clean... but not spotless. I hope this culturally rich building can be well maintained, and the places be properly upgraded even more as it succeeds as one of the most valuable hotel experience in Georgetown 🥰

The location is great. Breakfasts very good. Perfect pool to cool down (cold water, seriously), good choice. For me, the location and the swimming pool (because of my daughter) is ok. I recommend it. But: Zero wardrobes, cupboards etc. We had to keep everything in suitcases and there was not even a towel rack in the bathroom. It is much more important than an extra toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. Besides, calls from a nearby mosque are awakened. These are the details that irritate. And the pillows - high and hard. In addition, the hotel complies with the description and you can safely spend a few nights in it.

A Chinese-owned bed and breakfast is very close to the surname bridge. There are also many Chinese-opened tea rooms for breakfast. OPH room is clean and very small, almost like a square cube. A bed to sleep, a working table and a relatively spacious bathroom. Air-condition and water heater works really good. This will be my first time experience stayed in Tido Penang Hostel and really like it. The room is quite cosy and comfortable. Each person got one big locker space with key, pillow and mattress, reading light, a plug, blanket and towel. Free WiFi at all floors and in dorm room too. The hostel consist of 5 floors, 1st to 4th floor comes with 5 rooms & 5 individual bathroom & WC. The lounge on 5th floor was big and had great 2 swinging egg chairs and plenty of space over looking the view of the city. There was also a computer if you need to use one. Every floor has a iron and board. The 5th floor comes with books/magazine cupboard, table bench & high chair, soft sofa, a fridge, refillable hot/cold water filter and a small kitchenette. Free breakfast is at 5th floor overlooking the city in the morning that comes with self service toast, 4 types of spread, biscuits, coffee, tea & filtered water. Every shared bathroom is clean and comes with rain shower hot/cold pressure power and shampoo/body wash. The 8 bedded bunk room is clean and spacious and look exactly the same in the booking website. Open air parking is next to Caltex petrol station. All in all, for a price that am paying, I am happy with my stay and highly recommending and suggested this place for those who want to explore Georgetown The service overall was excellent and the facility was fabulous. The location was in a quiet area and very convenient for eating out. Highly recommend Tido.. :)

Our stay at the blue mansion was amazing from start to finish. The staff were excellent and efficient. The room was great, with some nice touches like biscuits and sarongs to use by the pool. It’s worth noting the room had a fan and air conditioning which we didn’t expect from a historic residence. We were blown away by the hotel and would recommend it to anyone staying in Georgetown. It really added to our trip.

Yes, this is a budget Hotel. For around MYR 100 you get what you pay for. Great location, right in the action. Bars, Restaurants, hawker stalls, shops etc. Clean basic room, clean sheets, bed a little hard but still slept well. good A/C and shower facilities. There is hot and cold water 24/7 and a large balcony area with seating, overlooking the road where you can smoke vape and have a drink. Ironing station available. Only downside to this place is poor Wi-Fi. Could not get any internet in the reception area and definitely not in the rooms. Overall, an ok stay for a night or two. No problem recommending this Hotel.

We had a pleasant three-day stay at this hotel. The hotel is in an excellent location, situated between two large malls with plenty of shops and restaurants and within a reasonable cab ride to both George Town and Batu Ferringhi. The room was quite spacious but a little bit dated and worn down. It could use a refresh. The bed was very comfortable, however, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. We enjoyed using the beautiful infinity pool. Service was friendly and efficient. One area that could use improvement is the breakfast. Although there is a good variety of items offered, many just weren't very tasty. The best thing on the buffet was the homemade ice cream. Overall, this is a good place to stay when exploring the island of Penang.

Loved our stay at Tien Terrace, the whole place is spotlessly clean with such a beautiful finish to all aspects. The room is modern, comfortable and clean. The air con is a dream, it’s quiet so doesn’t disturb your sleep. Location is great too, perfect walking distance to everything. It’s on a quiet little street too which makes it a lot more authentic. The hotel location is strategically placed in central on George Town. Everything is so closed by walking distance. Hotel staff were friendly. The Chinese uncle at the parking area was friendly. He said is the Co-owner of the hotel. Thanks for assisting me getting the parking The room was clean and neat. Although the hotel is by the road side, the road noise were almost to none. The WiFi connection was okay. Was hoping could use a faster connection. But I used it when in hotel. Not much to complain about. Parking lots are limited if you are travelling in evening. The staff will assist you anyway to get you a safe parking. Happy with my 3d2n stay. Recommended. Definitely will come again with a bigger room. Thanks Regards Happy customer and Penang’s food lover
