Sometimes it's the welcome that makes the difference, and there is no shortage here. The warm welcome from the receptionist (Mrs Fuzzy) was exceptional. She handled a queue of guests checking-in with great patience and humour. If this was an episode of Undercover Boss, I would be promoting Mrs Fuzzy to a role that goes out to all Premier Inns, to show them what customer service should look like. The friendly team ethic continued at breakfast in the adjoining Bar and Block restaurant, where the waiting staff and kitchen crew were exceptional. They could certainly do with some of this professionalism it at our next stop, the Premier Inn Cheltenham Central (West/A40) where the surly receptioist made us feel unwelcome. The subject of a different review!

Great location, 5 mins walk from the main town. Two buildings making up the hotel, one side for couples and one for family rooms. Breakfast is in the main hotel which is the couples side. Breakfast is included, which was nice, included a choice of cooked english breakfast, including omelettes made to order in the morning and then a self serve cereal selection, including fruit and yoghurts. On check in they asked if we had any dietary needs, which we did and they were then prepared in the morning. Rooms ok, nothing fantastic, but just what you need for a couple of nights away. Clean but slightly old fashioned. Bathroom was spotless, with a big bath sheet and hand towel each, plenty of shampoo/soap/shower gel in individual portions. Bedroom was all clean, the main bed sheets were spotless, I don’t think the valance sheet was though as it had a few marks on, but I’m not bothered by that as the rest of the room was all good. Spacious room, with tea/coffee/hot chocolate and biscuits in the cupboard. Hair dryer in room and extra pillows and throws and a iron on request. We were on the front of the building, but was exceptionally quiet. Staff were really helpful and pleasant through the whole stay, from arrival, to breakfast through to check out. Can’t give them enough credit, nothing seemed too much effort. Overall pleased with my stay.

The location of the hotel is very good, very close to the railway station, facing the street, downstairs is a bar, we live on the top, no sound can be heard. The indoor environment is generally hygienic. It's not bad to go out and live casually.

Must admit we do like staying in B & B's. Hedley Villa was lovely. Firstly greeted by Martha, the owner. Absolutely lovely. The room was clean and tidy as you would expect. En-suite was a bit cramped but the same as all the other guest houses with stayed at. And clean. Bed was comfy, how we like it. 🍳Breakfast, full english or continental. Very nice. Loads of tea, coffee and toast. Hedley Villa is situated about 2 minutes from the high street and about 10 from the restaurants and bars. So ideally placed. Seeing as you that close , the street was not noisy at all. Got a good night's sleep every night. If you like staying at guest houses, we recommend these one. 👍

Service attitude is very good, I am sick and vomiting a place, the staff did not have a half of complaints cleaned up, but also asked me if I want to be tight, moved! The location is a bit biased, both must have a taxi.

I spent one night in this hotel while visiting the NAEC, The hotel is listed as a Training and Conference Centre; the whole infrastructure supports that claim. It is not an hotel in which I would want to spend a long time, unless I was there for a conference. The size of the bedroom was adequate although I had difficulty opening the wardrobe door because of its closeness to the side of the bed. The gap between the end of the bed and the desk unit was small and because of my limited mobility (a stroke) I had to take extreme care when moving around. The bed was very comfortable. Although it was listed as a double room, there was only one chair; there was not enough room for a second chair. he bathroom was pleasantly appointed. The decor was good. If I had been there on a training course or a conference I would have spent more time in the public areas, but I was there for one night alone therefore being very tired I spent my free time in the bedroom. The bar and public areas appeared to be comfortable and well used. The menu for dinner was a bit "cheffy" in its description of the food as was he presentation of the food. Do not be put off by that because the food was excellent as was the service of the restaurant staff. The breakfast (buffet style) was extensive. All round the food was properly cooked and hot when served. The menu changes on a regular basis. The Reception staff were exemplary in their demeanour, and their service.

The location of the hotel is very good at a golf course in the suburbs, very close to the highway but you have to drive. The only complaint is that the breakfast is really bad and everything else is pretty good

My husband booked this hotel and what a great choice, friendly, clean, our room was perfect. We had a few drinks in the pub before moving on for an Indian meal which we asked the barman where to go as we aren’t from the area and fancied a curry....we pub crawled to the Indian and what a fantastic meal we had. Came back for a night cap then straight to get our heads down. We had traveled up from gosport so we wanted a good night sleep ready for travelling back home. Came down for breakfast and fancied a full English and what a lovely breakfast it was. Staff were all lovely and friendly and helpful. Thank you to all the team. We will be back.

We stay at a lot of hotels and it is rare for us to give negative reviews but sadly this hotel needs improvement, given its excellent location in the town centre and the added bonus of a small car park, the poor design of the room, lack of staff training and sub-standard breakfast are the factors that let it down. On arrival we were greeted by two lovely ladies on reception who were very welcoming. We stayed in one of the rooms in the rear courtyard. The actual bedroom size was fine. We gather the radiator may not have been working as there was a ‘plug in’ one adjacent, that being said, the temperature of the room was fine. One of the windows overlooked a courtyard that needed a good jet wash and litter pick. When we went to bed, we realised there were no curtains, just blinds which let in a lot of light into the room. In addition, the security light outside kept coming on throughout the night which further lit up the room. Despite the good size of the room, the bed was really small in comparison and every time you moved in it, it rattled and squeaked really loudly, so much so, it disturbed our sleep all through the night. When we looked further, the bed was the type that folds up into the wall, as such it was on rails and the wooden base trim protruded so it was easy to hit your feet when getting in and out of bed. It was obviously all part of one unit as the wardrobe and cupboard were butted up close to each side of the bed which was not only claustrophobic but also impractical as there was nowhere to put a glass of water during the night. The sound insulation in the room was poor as we heard a person snoring in the adjacent room practically all night and footsteps could be heard in the rooms above. The lighting system comprised of a brown panel with numerous buttons to switch on lights in different areas including the bathroom. During the night, trying to navigate the right button to switch on the bathroom light was impossible and again disturbed my partner when I accidently switched on the bedroom light. We barely slept all night, it was the worst nights sleep we have actually had at a hotel. When using the shower, it was impossible to reach around the bi-fold door to switch it on without getting soaked. The heat and pressure of the shower was all fine. We went down for breakfast, again the girls were smiley and pleasant and told us to take a seat anywhere. We gathered we had to help ourselves to everything including tea and coffee, but no one told us this which you would have expected them to. At no point did anyone come over and ask us if all was OK with the breakfast. The hot breakfast buffet only had one egg left and two tomatoes and the temperature of these and the beans were luke warm. We are both vegetarian but there was no mention or signage or menu’s for any vegetarian options anywhere. The small croissants were soggy in places on the bottom. When we checked out there was a smiley young lady on reception who

We went to the kings head for our Christmas meal. We all work at Sainsbury’s just next door to the pub. I must admit I hadn’t been in the pub since I used to play darts I’m the 80s. What a pleasant surprise, the room was lovely, clean and very welcoming. It was all very Christmassy. The whole night was very happy and friendly, and the food was so good. Christmas dinner, and pudding. Beautiful. I would recommend it. Couldn’t find a fault lovely evening.

Stayed here for my birthday. Shown to our room by very friendly lady, unfortunately the lift was out of order, wasn’t repaired in the 2 days we were there. Our room was pleasant but very hot, even with the window open. Very small but functional bathroom and small tv and fridge. I would compare it to a Premier Inn with smaller bathrooms. I had a spa treatment booked at 3pm, however there was a mix up and it was booked in at 4pm. So we were offered a hot drink in the cafe and free access to the spa, we couldn’t use this as I had hurt my wrist and couldn’t get it wet. We decided to celebrate my birthday with an alcoholic drink. I had a gin and tonic and my husband a small beer, both served in plastic tumblers for the princely sum of £16.80! For a 3/4* hotel in Leamington this is extortionate. Luckily we had some alcohol with us. My treatment was great, the only thing that let it down was at the end I was sat upright with a gift set plonked on my lap and given a sales pitch on the products. I hadn’t had time to come to. At other spas they do this at the end, to a lesser degree, outside of the room, giving you time to come to. We ate in the brasserie, which was very nice. £4 for a bread roll! Drinks again were very expensive and we were charged for mineral water we didn’t have. This was taken off the bill. Breakfast was nice, served in the main house. You will need your coat as there are 3 buildings, the spa building, Manor House and Knights suite accommodation block. You’ll have to walk in the open between the 3. The signage is terrible, we walked all the way around the spa building to find the entrance and even then there was no sign! All in all it was a nice night, but I would take your own alcohol, double check your spa booking and take your trainers to walk to the spa as you’ll walk further than you think. Would I stay again, probably not.
