Looked for a place close in the city for 2 nights - easy access by car to the V&A Waterfront and lovely views of the mountain. This boutique hotel is the perfect option! Booking was easy and well priced, service SUPER efficient and friendly. The room was just what was needed, large space, neat, clean and all modern features. Loved that there was a skylight in the bathroom. The fridge and complimentary items were great too(Room 9). My mom stayed in the studio room (Room 1) and that was beyond expectations - large space, kitchenette and more. The access to all TV channels was welcoming when relaxing before heading out again for the evening. Will definitely recommend to friends and when in CT again, I will be visiting this awesome place again. PS....lovely Latte’s and thank you for keeping the item I had left behind till I collected it.

We stayed here for 6 nights at the beginning of our Africa holiday for our 25th anniversary. Cape Riviera was just lovely! The breakfast was always fresh & delicious. The rooms are spacious, beautiful and the bed is very comfortable. The entire staff is incredibly friendly, nice and so helpful with anything we needed or requested. The location at the base of table mountain is calm, quiet and the view is spectacular! Michelle was so helpful as well as the other girl who came in - I feel bad I don’t remember her name, but she was so nice! The location is a short Uber right to anywhere in town. I would recommend Cape Riviera for a Cape Town stay! ❤️

Needed stay over at Mountain Manor at very short notice - and Michelle was so friendly and efficient in arranging a room for me to stay the night - nothing is ever to much for Michelle and her staff - always willing to help , in fact go the extra mile and always with the greatest of friendliness. I have stayed at Mountain Manor a couple of times before - and I just realized today again that Michelle really adds the finishing touches in her establishment, little things a traveler might just need - like sell toothpaste and toothbrushes and other goodies for emergencies . Everything has been thought about . I highly recommend staying at Mountain Manor - Michelle and her most amazing , friendliest staff is always there to bid you a warm welcome . Thank you Michelle and wonderful ladies - your kindness does not go unnoticed.

The apartments are situated in the garden centre, so everything you need is there. The rooms was standard but also nice and spacious, however bathroom and kitchen was very outdated. Overall there is everything you need in the kitchen. The mountain facing rooms have amazing views of Table Mountain, and would recommend this to friends and family if they need a budget getaway.

We stayed here on the second week of our tour and there was very little to complain about. The rooms (get an even numbered one there is a view of Table Mountain) are comfortable and clean although the aircon is a bit noisy. The dining room staff are slow and a little inattentive except for the manageress who is terrific. The food is very good and cooked well, 5* for the Chef's department. The bar needed help as there is only one person who knows how to mix cocktails. Get an Uber account for the rides to the waterfront area. Would I stay here again - yes.

Lovely boutique hotel in the gardens area of Cape Town, 5 minutes walk to restaurants on upper kloof street. 10-15 minutes walk would take you to dozens of great restaurants. Staff were really accommodating particularly Nadine with whom we had most contact. She was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and bookings as well as helping with trips. The grounds and pool area are small but nice and adequate for the limited downtime you are likely to have. Breakfast was very nice with a buffet and various cooked items, the only slight negative is a lack of coffee options when we tried to order a latte which should be quite standard these days. The rooms were comfortable and well maintained. A nice touch was when they left chocolates and wine for a special occasion. One thing we would say is that in a lot of other hotels we have stayed in South Africa, they have had complimentary Sundowners where it gives you the chance to interact with other guests and the hotel staff. It would also mean you would get the chance to enjoy the lovely main part of the house which we were never really in. Think it would just add an extra dimension. All in all a very nice hotel with very helpful staff. If it’s your first time in Cape Town and you don’t want a large corporate hotel you would do well to pick here as a base.

The room, although it appeared clean, had a damp and musty smell. Unfortunately there were only top bunk beds available. This did not concern me. Was greatful to see that bathrooms were clean and tidy. I attempted to get onto the bed...that's when the trouble started. I was unable to climb up the loose little ladder attached to the beds even with help. Unfortunately for someone like me it is not an easy/possible task. Asked Reception for alternative female dorm and was advised that all bottom bunk beds have been taken and one may only avail itself the next day.Not an option for me. I was given the option of booking into single room at additional cost - not affordable. I made suggestion that since I was booked for two nights to reduce it to one night's stay and use full amount already paid against what a single room would cost to reduce what I would have to pay and I make a plan for next evening. Unfortunately I could not be met half-way. Attempted again to get onto the bed - failed miserably. Two choices: stay and there's a real possibility I would not sleep on a bed or leave and find a relatively safe 24-hour place where you could stay awake regardless. I chose the latter because...what was the point. I would not be getting any refund due to type of booking and I would have to pay more than budgeted if I stayed and made use of alternative. So exhausted due to lack of sleep the previous night. Wish you had slight level of flexibility and understanding - just for one night.

This was my first visit to Mt Sierra and the service we received was outstanding. From the welcoming email received before we arrived to the friendly and speedy checkout and everything in between. Being a seasoned international traveller and currently living in Australia, our experience as a family was better than anything we had experienced. Besides the hotel being more than comfortable with every amenity you need and more; the staff was friendly, helpful and went above and beyond. As a business owner and Airbnb host, I understand and appreciate excellent service. A special shout out to Nazeem who organised an appropriate room for our wheelchair bound son; as well as providing us with extremely useful tips for our stay. A well researched, very knowledgeable local indeed with a fantastic disposition! We can’t wait to visit again and will be planning our trip soon. Thanks Dr Gillian Moreland

For our first visit to Cape Town we were recommended Dunkley House in the Gardens district. Pretty street with bougainvillea pouring over the garden walls and views of Table Mountain towering over the city. Very quiet street with easy pedestrian access to a convenient shopping centre nearby. A good Greek restaurant and a busy outdoor bar on a quiet square five minutes walk away. Within easy walking distance of the Company’s Gardens and Parliament, and the Tourist Bus office on Long Street. The guest house is very welcoming with friendly staff on hand at all times. We stayed in two rooms, one in the main building, the other across the small courtyard which was classed as a deluxe room as it had a very large high-end modern bathroom and a small outdoor seating area. The only drawback was the rattling of the glass wall throughout the night in the strong Cape wind. Both rooms were comfortable and very clean. Excellent breakfast with a selection of hot dishes prepared to order.

We arrived in Cape Town very early after an overnight flight and it was wonderful to be greeted at the airport by a driver, arranged by the hotel, who whisked us off to the Welgelegen. After a lovely greeting from Prince we were offered breakfast and coffee etc in the courtyard while our room was prepared. We weren't expecting to be allowed to check in so early so this was a massive plus being so tired. Expecting to be shown to our mini deluxe room we were overjoyed to find that they'd upgraded us, free of charge, to a much bigger room at the rear of the property with it's own lovely courtyard and a partial view of Table Mountain - what a start to our holiday. Following that I can only reiterate what virtually every other review on here has said The hotel itself, the courtyard, sitting areas etc, is charming. The breakfasts are outstanding (we'll miss Rita's cheerful greeting each morning) Every member of staff is so friendly and can't do enough for you. The location is perfect - aparently Welgelegen translates from Dutch to English as well placed or well situated. We never waited longer than 5 mins for an Uber and the immediate area felt very safe. We had a meal on Kloof St one evening and walked back in the dark with no worries whatsoever. If you are looking to stay in Cape Town there's no need to stay in the expensive but lifeless chain hotels on the Waterfront when an Uber ride from here to the V&A is less than £3. I'm sure this won't be our last trip to this amazing city and, when we return, we'll certainly stay at The Welgelegen

If you are just looking for a place to purely sleep and use as your base for exploring Cape Town Central then this place is ideal. The guesthouse itself doesn't really offer any extraordinary views although a short walk down the road and you can see the mountain. The house itself is well maintained and outfitted. Each bedroom has its own on suite bathroom with huge showers. The kitchen is really basic so not ideal for cooking meals. The high walls and bars on all the windows did however make me feel like I wasn't really safe although we probably were.

This is a basic lodge but still very nice. The location is amazing, looking right over Boulders Beach. We arrived late morning but were able to check in before lunch. We were originally put in a room on the side of the building which was very small but there was no hot water so we moved to one nearer the reception which was bigger. The original bathroom had a bath but the second room had a shower with no curtain but was sufficiently big that it wasn’t necessary. The decor was quite octopus themed and nice. It was basic but clean and comfortable. There were very few electric sockets and what there was were in an awkward place. Lunch was nice in a restaurant that was semi outside. We also had dinner there which was good and we sat overlooking the car park where there was quite a lot of activity just in front of the sea. We even saw a penguin walking across the car park in the dark. There was good night security as it is a public car park. Breakfast was odd as we were rationed to only one juice and one coffee each. We ordered a cooked breakfast but the service was extremely slow so we had drunk our one cup of coffee long before it came. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We felt like we had been staying there a while not just one night. There is a very nice scheme operating whereby you can add extra money to your bill to feed human and one to feed a penguin.

We were midway through our 3+ week journey in Africa when arrived in Cape Town. We are loyal Marriott customers and found this property on the Marriott website. I am so happy that we found this hotel. We had a very spacious apartment with a King bedroom. It was so nice to spread out and do some much needed laundry in the washer/dryer. I will admit the washer/dryer combo is typical of those found in Europe that can be painfully slow but it washed our clothes beautifully so I was very happy. The hotel is convenient to the Victoria and Albert waterfront area, the convention center, and two of the hop on- hop off red bus stops. There is a very nice breakfast buffet available with made to order egg dishes. The dining room is open for dinner as well which is quite handy. We really liked this place. Another reviewer mentioned a club next to the hotel that can be noisy on the weekend---we were there for five nights including the weekend and never noticed any noise. Our room faced a large square with a well known large hotel opposite us. Perhaps that is a quieter side and you could request it. I never heard any outside noise.

Booking through Ctrip is very convenient, and there is still a period of time to unsubscribe. The location is in the core area of Cape Town, less than 20 minutes from Cape Town Airport, and it costs about 300 rand. The room type is an apartment. In addition to no washing machine, dishwasher, other living appliances are available, double-door refrigerator, microwave oven, four-eye induction cooker, sink, kitchenware, tableware can meet 6/8 people. The bathroom is very clean, separated from dry and wet, with a large space, white bath towels, two of each size. Big bed room, another comfortable couch, TV is satellite TV, and cctv4. If convenient, you can bring your own slippers, dental kits and a little shampoo, the hotel also provides. There is a travel company in the lobby, you can rent a car and tour guides to the surrounding attractions, you will spend some money, go out, especially in Africa safety is the first consideration. There are pick n pay chain supermarkets, CTICC convention and exhibition center, railway station, cathedral, and the bus stop nearby is also very convenient for travel

Never @ Home Cape Town provided clean and comfortable accommodations throughout our stay in Cape Town. My boyfriend and I chose to stay in a private room, which was cost-effective and clean (even had its own bathroom complete with shower - totally awesome and unexpected!). A small safe in the room afforded us the opportunity to store our valuables while we were out on excursions. And the staff was more than accommodating - we arrived late after a few travel delays and they greeted us at the door with a smile. One small note - the country of South Africa was participating in load shedding when we arrived, which meant that at different times each day the power went out in our room. Never @ Home had a generator onsite, but that power did not extend to guest rooms. Since we spent very little time in our room it was ultimately not a huge issue.

Stayed for a few nights in feb. Absolutely loved it. The best thing about this hotel are the phenomenal views - they’re simply breathtaking. Room was decorated very tastefully, it was big with a lovely terrace. As the hotel has around 7 rooms and is essentially a big house, soundproofing isn’t great - we were woken up a couple of times by cleaners as the linen cupboard was opposite our room. Food was really tasty. Nice selection for breakfast - could potentially be a bit more creative in offering different pastries or yogurts etc. You can also order lunch and dinner to have in the hotel as long as you order the day before. Really tasty food. All the staff are lovely and we particularly enjoyed the cake every day! We were lucky enough to see about 7 whales one day in the bay and then on the last day we left there were around 30 dolphins swimming across the bay - the view was stunning !! Would be good to put binoculars in the bedrooms. Camps bay is 5 mins in car away, plenty of parking and lots of nice places to eat and drink. Ellerman house is also a 5 min walk down the road - we had an exceptional dinner there. Would definitely stay here again and would love to have stayed longer. It had a lovey homely feel to it. It would be nice if there were more seats to eat breakfast outside at - there were only 4 place settings which were often taken.

I spend last weekend in Cape town, SA, booked at Southern Sun Cape Sun Hotel , Strand St. And what was to be a great weekend get away, turned real nasty Sunday morning. An hour before my check out, I go down fior a quick breakfast, everything pakaged, ready to go in my room. I return 45 min later only to find some one has locked themselves into my room stolen my laptop and some money out of my travel purse (only the big notes), but left my passport. I call for security, still little in chock that this has happend. They appear fairly fast, but after a quick run trough of what was taken , they seem more anciuos to get me to check out and of to the airport. I ask if this will be raported to the police, but dont get an answer only that they will investigate. I mention that they can check the log of which keycard was used to enter my room. They acknowledge this, with another they will investigate. Clearly this was arrange by someone within the hotel, timing was perfect, hotel had my travel details and knew that I had to be in the airport that morning or miss my flight. I have since tried to follow up via mail and phone, who ever i speak to just tells me this is still under investigation and they will get back to me. The Manager is not available... Hopefully this, with this bad review, will wake someone within the Sun Group and see to it that their employee`s don't systematic steals from their guests ! MY Recommedation Dont stay at this Hotel, if you want to keep you belongings !

We spent a wonderful three nights at this lovely B&B in central Cape Town. From the pre-arranged airport pick-up through to our departure, everything was perfect. The Victorian property and its garden is beautiful. Our room (7), with its soaring ceilings was comfortable, spotless, and quiet and the spacious bathroom had all the expected amenities. We do not watch television on holiday and were happy the room did not have one (on booking, you can request one be put into your room). Breakfast served outside during our visit, was very special: the menu included yoghurt, granola and fruit, juice, coffee/tea plus hot dishes or cheese and cold cuts platter, a different special every day, toast plus a daily bakery offering. Of course, much more food that we could manage, but it was all delicious! We appreciated (and used) the honesty bar and the range of items available: we find this much better than an in-room mini bar. There are also some things on display in the common areas that are for sale: the limited edition artwork purchased just went on our walls yesterday and are a wonderful reminder of our visit. We found the location great, an easy stroll into the city centre, good restaurants a few blocks away, and a pleasant walk to the V&A Waterfront. As advised, we did Uber back at night. Our day trip to the Cape and transfer to Franschhoek were organised for us and as well as being a great driver, Chris was very engaging and made these fun, informative and memorable. The staff elevate the experience for staying here: welcoming, helpful, and interested in their guests and guiding them to make the most of their visit to Cape Town. The perfect stay!

Breakfast is 100 RMB per person, there are not many types of meals, but the service is exceptional! The location is also very good, very close to the mall. The neighborhood is also rich, and the security issues are not bad. It is well known that law and order in South Africa is not abrupt. Ctrip reservations need to be booked in advance, otherwise the hotel will show unpaid, but Ctrip has shown payment ... Ctrip is better than Booking in terms of price, this is a must.

Where to start .... Firstly what an amazing experience we had in Cape Town and our apartment at Canal Quays set the tone for the holiday. As soon as we got to the apartments at midnight check in was a breeze we were shown to our own secure parking bay beneath the building with a lift to our apartment on the 6th floor. The apartment itself was spacious well equipped and very clean. A lovely large balcony to sit and take in the view of the cruise ships that docked and Cape Town stadium in the distance. Handy for the water taxi to the V and A waterfront as it stops outside our building. It was kept clean and tidy by the staff fresh towels daily and bedding changed. The apartment had a fully equipped kitchen and washer and dryer to which my made full use of (no big wash when we got home)detergent provided. Our SA travel agent arranged our stay at the More Quarters in Capetown for a 4 night ( not long enough!) stay in this beautiful and fascinating city. We are 4 ladies from the USA on our first visit to South Africa. We were thrilled with everything about the More Quarters. We loved the spacious suite. The separate living room/kitchen was wonderful. This is perfect for people who want to cook in or bring in food or to relax in an apartment type set up. You don’t have to eat sitting on your bed. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, and the hotel is in the lovely Garden neighborhood with lots of cafes and other things to do within walking distance. There is a fabulous breakfast served in the mornings with everything you can imagine including hot food choices. Absolutely great service! The only downside is the off-site parking. It is a few minutes drive to Woodstock and the V&A, and within walking distance to fantastic restaurants and a welcoming night-life. We stayed here for 3 nights in March 2020. The hotel is in a good location. Rooms are very spacious and well equipped with all amenities. Breakfast choices are good with a plentiful variety and eggs cooked how you like. Pancakes are also freshly made. Due to the Corona virus our flight to Mauritius was cancelled and we ended up staying an additional 2 nights before we could fly back home to the UK. Due to costs we decided to stay in the adjoining sister hotel Stay Easy. We found the Duty Manager Lebohung to be extremely helpful. He ensured that we could access the adjoining hotel from a connecting floor, gave us a discounted rate for the rooms, allowed us to have breakfast in the Sun Square hotel, provided bottled water and most importantly allowed us a late check out as our flight home was in the evening. Thank you Lebo for showing us humanity and kindness in these troubled times. The world is a better place with people like you. This hotel deserves a 5 star rating!

Ours was the "fynbos" like the great vegetation around his house. We just loved and enjoyed every single minute with Jaques and his wonderful employees Prudence, Grant and Seto. They made our stay a memorable and very "touchy" one. The breakfast was great and of course "with a view". Location is very safe and quiet but only 10 Minutes away from nice restaurants. Jaqces was there for us every evening and morning to help us with our sxploring and dining plans. He has a great knowledge about Capetown and the Western Cape. and the do's and dont's. Ask for red wines, he has just a great variety of superb wines at reasonable rates. Also great that he brings the guests together in the morning, or introducing new guests to the group . But also he invites for a chat and a spontanous drink on his nice terrace. We will definitely visit him again even if we only pass for a chat, he made us feel like friends!

I had an excellent stay at Sundown Manor for 9 nights. I had a warm welcome and the service throughout was first class. My room was clean and comfortable. Sundown Manor is very well situated in the Sea Point area and the town and seafront are easy to walk to. The buffet breakfast was well presented with a good variety of food and drinks available. It was pleasant to eat at the beautifully laid tables. Well done to Candice and all the staff.

We spent one night at the executive apartment before heading off back home. The place is just wonderful, friendly staff, stunning views and the beds are really comfortable. Moreover, it's just close to everything in Camps Bay. I enjoyed every moment there and will definitely come back!

Best bed ever! Perfect location! Clean place! Did I mention best bed ever? Alot of hotels can learn a thing or two..not as noisy as you would think. Has all the necessities we needed. Left there with fit thighs because of the steps, good thing cause I skipped gym. Absolutely no complaints. We will be back!

I had to make a late reservation to stay here after a booking mix up left me stranded. I was pleasantly surprised by the warm hospitality and helpfulness of Alexis. The room was wonderfully comfortable with good WiFi and a spacious bathroom. Very secure and well situated (although the Uber drivers seems to battle to find it - warn them about the one way streets). Ended with a fresh, healthy breakfast and just sorry that I didn’t have enough time to enjoy all the luxuries that the guest house offers. Highly recommended.
