Super friendly and attentive owners who offer a clean and comfortable apartment away from the noise of the city center whilst still with in easy reach for all the city has to offer including restaurants, the port, swimming spots and city walls, although you do have to climb a few stairs! (Like anywhere in Dubrovnik). The apartment is well equipped and the owner is very helpful. Highly recommend and we’ll be coming back!

The hotel is very comfortable and it is very easy to find a free and easy place to find, first and for avoiding paying public parking near 360 kunas per day. The hotel is located in the city centre, in the city centre and in the city centre. Mimi was in the small care room for us (she speaks perfectly English) with a nice and nice breakfast.

This hotel's main fault was it had bad air conditioning. We called for help and ours worked fairly well but others in our group had issues with the heat in their rooms. We had a dinner buffet which was so so without many choices of food nor very tasty food but the dining area was pleasant. We had a nice view from our room which could see the sea in the distance. And the walk to the old town section of Dubrovnik was fairly easy down hill. There was a bus #4 to get back up the hill to the hotel from the nearby square where the Pile Gate access is located. You first buy a ticket at the little kiosk across from where the bus picks you up for just under 2 euros. The hotel's pool had delightfully cool water.

This hotel is located at the end of a bus route which has a regular runs into the the old town of Dubrovnik which is great. The actual hotel is very clean and the rooms are very spacious and the outlook onto the sea is great especially for the stunning sunsets. The beds are two single beds together making a super king size bed….. I didn’t find the beds especially comfortable but that could just be me. Breakfast has a huge variety which I think could suite most peoples appetite. Now we went half board which included buffet style evening meal. It’s was very disappointing….. the hot food was left under the lamps to keep warm which turned some of the meat and fish that turned to leather. Not sure it’s because it’s end of season but we were bitterly disappointed with the quality of food for a 5* hotel. One special mention is Marianna ( think that’s her name ) was a pleasure to see on entering the restaurant for breakfast and evening meal always smiling is a real credit to the hotel The hotel facilities, the outdoor pools spa are excellent. Was very quite when we were there but I can imagine being very different in high season.

This is a lovely hotel, clean rooms with good supply of hot water & easy to control air-con, clean pool, free pool towels and free safe (no deposit required), pleasant and welcoming staff. Great breakfast with lots of choice. The hotel kindly prepared us a packed breakfast one morning as we had booked an early trip. Also they were quite happy to provide us with an early morning call. Live music is provided several nights a week in the pool area and is good, and not overly loud. Poolside food is excellent and not too pricey. There are vending machines in the hotel so you can get cold drinks and snacks at any time, however they do appear to be a bit temperamental. I was concerned before I arrived after seeing some reports of construction work outside the hotel but in my opinion it has little impact on the hotel. The work is being carried out to the harbour road, so there is some disruption to the view of the boats and beyond from the hotel pool area. However in terms of noise, we experienced none during our stay other than a couple of lorries passing along the road. In terms of access, if you turn left outside the hotel gate, you can easily walk into the town on a well made road and footpath. If you turn right, it is rough underfoot and not suitable for high heeled shoes or pushchairs, but anyone wearing flat shoes and able-bodied is fine (but to be honest, there's little need to turn right). The buses run frequently into Old Dubrovnik (2 euros each way) and the bus stop is about a 10 mins amble up the hill on the roundabout (slightly less if you use the steps on the left after the hotel as it's a short cut). Plenty of restaurants up the hill and across the road to the pedestrian walkway to the beach. Lots of choice.

Dubrovnik

The apartments are ideally located just off the main street. If one arrives at Pile Gate there are minimal stairs to deal with which is a huge plus plus in the old town. Our apartment was on the first floor and featured high ceilings, a combined kitchen/dining/living room and separate bedroom. It was well appointed and attractive designed; we liked the combination of old world charm and modern conveniences. The staff, Carmen and Marko, were pleasant and helpful. Note that this is not a hotel and so they are not on site during evening hours, however they were responsive to email. The bed was decent but a bit soft for our liking. While the air conditioner provided some ambient noise, the apartment overlooks a restaurant in the alley and the street noise kept us awake. I suspect this is a common issue with old buildings and lower level apartments throughout the old town. Breakfast was included at Dalmatino's on the next street over. Our first hot breakfast at the restaurant was tasty and generous However, on our second day we took a packed breakfast due to a very early flight. The breakfast included juice boxes, fruit, sliced bread and packets of nutella, jam, cheese and butter but no napkins or plastic utensils. A pre-made cheese sandwich or croissant, fruit and a hard boiled egg would have been a much better bet in terms of taste and ease. Dubrovnik is expensive. The nightly rate for the apartment exceeded that of most of our hotels throughout two weeks in Croatia. We enjoyed the proximity to all the important landmarks for our first visit to Dubrovnik. On a subsequent visit I would consider booking a hotel outside the old town to enjoy more amenities for the price. Top must do's - a tour (Vlaho - Guru Walks), walking the walls at 8 am, a cable car to take advantage of sunset and a day at Lokrum Island. Fantastic!

Scalini Palace

Dubrovnik

Located a few metres from the Stradun, the main thoroughfare in the Old Town, and a few minutes walk from the Ploce Gate, Scalini Palace is an excellent place to stay. Previous comments about the stairs are correct. We were located in Room 5, on the third floor, and the gentleman at reception kindly offered to take our, very heavy, bags for us. He took two, made it to the first floor, then continued with one at a time. I did warn him. On leaving, I carried the bags downstairs and the gravity assist helped, however older folk may experience some difficulty and would be wise to seek assistance. Our room was fully equipped for a long stay. Very clean, cooking facilities with cutlety, saucepans etc, and a small balcony which was handy for clothes drying. nice bathroom with plenty of hot water. The only improvement I could suggest would be the inclusion of a direct phone line to reception as using the stairs to make an enquiry could be a nuisance. Reception is not always staffed, however. You are offered four choices for breakfast which is delivered to your room. Upon checkin you advise the time you prefer for breakfast., which you may or may not get depending on the choices of other guests. All staff at Scalini Palace were very nice, polite, and helpful. Day tours can be arranged from reception and they will make restaurant reservations if asked. The palace does not have a bar, however there is a small bar almost next door. Overall, we were really impressed and happy with our stay and highly recommend Scalini Palace

My husband and I stayed at the Apartments Eleganca for 4 nights during our visit to the Old City of Dubrovnik. Located close to the Pile Gate (entrance of the Old City) which is extremely convenient when lugging suitcases. The apartment was gorgeous. Clean, comfortable, modern and spacious - it was the perfect place to chill after a day of site seeing. It doesn't have cupboards to put your clothes in - but it does have hanging hooks in the bedroom which we found worked well for us. I would say that this apartment is ideal for 2 people. Located in the Main Street of the Old city - you are very close to many cafes, shops - and the entrance to the Wall Walk. The apartment is well equipped so that you can wash your clothes and cook your own meals if you choose. It has a large flat screen TV and fast free wi-fi. We found the bed to be large and comfortable. Also, they have a safe to put your passports and cash in. Good size bathroom. There can be some noise at night if you leave the windows open (people just having too much fun) but it is fully air-conditioned so you can shut the windows and sleep in peace. My husband and I travelled for 6 weeks in Europe and this was one of the top two apartments that we stayed in. Highly recommend. Loved this apartment and would stay again.

The hotel is particularly good. When taxiing, the driver said that this was the best hotel in Ducheng in his mind. Outside the window is the Adriatic Sea. The supplies in the room are L'Occitane, which is also good. The breakfast was very rich and there was champagne to drink. Dubrovnik
|2.8km from city center
The Tirena hotel is in a good location on the Lapad Peninsula only about 5 minutes from a stony beach and a couple of minutes from a bus stop that takes you into the city. We stayed for four nights which was the right length of time to see everything in Dubrovnik. The hotel itself was probably built in the 70s but the architecture was really interesting (in terms of the use of concrete, layout, and the connection between internal/external areas). Our room and balcony were spacious and the bathroom was modern. We had half board and found breakfast better than dinner. No drinks are offered at dinner which seemed a bit stingy. The service at reception and in the restaurant was friendly. The pool was great but the cocktails from the bar were overpriced and watered down, although this is normal for Dubrovnik- it was very pricy in comparison to other Mediterranean destinations, which is something to bear in mind (and made half board a good idea).

This hotel is situated on the seaside with rooms with very beautiful views directly on the sea. The hotel is part of a huge complex, comprising several hotels and rentals of apartments with many small swimming pools and several restaurants. The rooms are large and comfortable without being able to claim a very luxury character. The hotel is very comfortable and the room was very clean and the bathroom was very clean and the bathroom was very clean and the bathroom was very clean and was very clean. The staff is friendly but probably insufficiently trained, so you are never accompanied to your table at the restaurant and men are served before women,. This lack of quality of service is seen in the breakfast, it is the worst place, a factory, a very large self-service where all guests from the hotels in the complex are all in promiscuity. There again, no one to accompany you at the table or take your order, you are to deal with and serve you in this huge self-catering cantine. Finally, the restaurants of the complex are lunch restaurants but they lack the quality of service, a little more developed map and a refined decor to pretend to welcome you to dinner as a 5-star hotel should be the The hotel is a very good hotel, and it is a good hotel. The top roof of one of the Royal complex hotels remains, however, sympathetic to drink a glass while watching the sunset. At the end this wonderful situation is a little disrupted by the lack of refinements in the hotel, the poor service and the breakfast plant.

Berkeley Hotel & Day Spa

The friendly, helpful and welcoming staff of the Berkeley Hotel made our Dubrovnik holiday even more memorable! All were first class, but special thanks go to Mirjana and to Ines, who always went the extra mile to ensure our enjoyment and comfort. Thank you, Berkeley staff! Don’t let the building works in the vicinity of this hotel put you off – the rooms are well sound-proofed and the positives far outweigh any negative from this! The rooms are well-appointed, clean, fresh and extremely comfortable. This small hotel is situated within a few minutes walk to the local bus station and the harbour area, making the Old City of Dubrovnik, trips to Cavtat, etc. easily accessible. There are a number of excellent restaurants also within easy walking distance of the Berkeley, but special mention must go to Prova restaurant where the welcome is warm and the sharing platters are exceptional! Berkeley reception staff were proactive, informed and helpful in facilitating tour bookings. We had a wonderful day visiting the beautiful island of Korcula and beyond, with hotel pick-up and a memorable tour from Adriatic Explore, who offer a great range of excursions. Tourist tip #1: Buy a Dubrovnik Card! – don’t purchase it before you go, buy it from any one of multiple sites or many hotels when you get there (much cheaper than pre-purchase)! Walking the city walls now costs 250kn per person. Our 7-day cards, with entrance to the walls and many other attractions, bus journeys, etc. cost only 350kn each! 1 and 3 day cards are also available. #2: Visit Dubrovnik in the Spring or Autumn, avoiding the crowds and the heat of the busy summer season – but do visit! It’s an amazing city!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Apartments Lino. The owner (Daria, if I remembered correctly) was very hospitable and helpful. I can't express how nice she was. On a rainy day she gave me an umbrella, she offered a lift to the bus station, there were cold drinks in the fridge on arrival! just big thank you to her and honestly, what a host! Ok, back to the room. Location is good for the bus station (10 mins walk) but a bit far to the Old Town if you don't want to use buses. There're buses so no problem overall, but I chose to walk everywhere. The room is exceptionally clean and brand new furniture etc. The host comes daily to empty the bins and every few days she also changed the towels. There's a table and chairs outside, lovely views. There is a maiden to hang your washing. The only minus are countless stairs especially when you have too much luggage! But it's not just this place, the stairs are everywhere in the city. So better get used to doing hundreds of them a day. :)

My family (husband, 16 year-old daughter, and me) stayed at V&M Apartments (for husband-wife duo Veronika and Mirko) for 8 nights. They were so friendly and helpful and we felt like we were visiting friends. The deluxe room was perfect. Had two balconies, a fully equipped kitchen and washer (complete with detergent). When they found out we were tea drinkers, they swapped out the coffee pot for a water kettle. The shared patio in the garden is a wonderful place to relax -- if you have young kids they'll be thrilled by the tortoises you can sometimes spot. Location is perfect walk to Lapad beaches and wonderful walking boardwalk, short walk to bus that gets you to the old town in about 10 minutes (you can even walk it if you like exercise). Quiet location. You can also walk to Gruz port where ferries depart which also has less expensive restaurants than Old Town. I also wish I had time to go to the place they buy their sheets! I could go on -- we loved our stay! Thank you Mirko and Veronika!

Obviously it is not a five star hotel and I knew what I was paying for. Based on the price I paid during this high season time frame (Aug 09-11), I'm completely satisfied with the room, service, breakfast and dinner (both included in the room price). Same service and eating options (b+d) cost at least double at differen hotels near by. I just paid the total of $313 CAD for two nights for two persons. Good luck to find something similar in the city that is rediculiosly expensive (especially because Game of the Thrones drama). My special thanks to Aleksa, the waiter at the restaurant: very attentive and knovledgeable about wine menue items. He offered us an excellent choice of vines.

Getting to the apartments by car is a bit tricky, but our host helped direct us to park with street parking. Dubrovnik roads aren't the easiest roads, so once parked we didn't touch our car again. Check in was smooth through arranging through a website, however initially it was difficult to hear back from the owner as phone calls were not picked up and messages through Expedia were not answered. Once arrived, it was easy however - the owner lived in the property below and she handed over the keys and did a quick run through of the apartment. The interiors are as pictured, two bedrooms and a very spacious living room and a self equipped kitchen (seemed to be equipped for three people though, we were lacking s between the four of us). Beds were very comfortable, with great mattresses and multiple firm pillows. There were additional blankets if needed. Air conditioning worked well. We had a balcony with an amazing view of Dubrovnik and the walls, and would have been amazing if we didn't have rainy weather the whole time. Bathroom was clean with decent water pressure and responsive hot water. However the shower is in a tub, and does have the tendency to splash out on the floor as there was no curtain. Washing machine had some problems and did not work properly - the wash cycle kept going on for hours and has to be manually set to spin. It's a short distance to the Walls at Ploce Gate, however due to the uphill location it meant walking up and down 300 odd number of steps to get back and forth from the town and the apartment. Not for anyone with mobility issues! A Grab could cost between 30-50 kunas from the town, depending on which pick up area. Great for bigger groups with no mobility issues, a very comfortable apartment with a great view.

It should be a four-star hotel, and the off-season stay is really cost-effective. The room is large in size, well-equipped, and the accommodation experience is very good. Free breakfast is provided every morning. Although the variety is not rich, it can be full, and there are salty, sweet, fruit and drinks, which can also satisfy all tastes. The hotel is very close to a dock for boating, and there is a certain distance from the main attractions, but it takes less than half an hour to walk there. There is also a section of the road along the seaside, and the scenery is beautiful.

My family, 2 adults and 2 adult children, stayed at Apartments Kirigin in May 2023. The apartment was on the top floor of the complex. The views from the patio were fantastic. We could see old town and Lokrum island. The flora at the apartment was beautiful. We stayed 3 night. The apartment is a 15-20 walk from old town. There are many steps to the apartment, so if you have mobility issues I would choose another place. The apartment was extremely clean. It was well stocked with cooking supplies. We used the panini press and coffee pot every day. They also had coffee and sugar available. Kate provides hand soap and dish detergent. You will need to bring other toiletries. We were met by Kate upon our arrival (we preplanned the arrival via WhatsApp). Kate was wonderful. She was in email contact with us as soon as we reserved the room. She provided a welcome drink for us, juice and local beer, which was wonderful after our 7 hour drive. We loved the balcony and the outdoor sitting area, very nice to relax after a day exploring Dubrovnik. As I said we drove to Dubrovnik, so we had a car. Kate provides parking at 20 Euro per day. This was a must for us because public parking is impossible in the city. The parking is tight but we managed very well. The apartment does have air conditioning in the main room, but not in the bedrooms. This was ok as the nights were cool, but it did get warm in the bedrooms. There are several sweet cats on the property along with a dog. The animals stay outside but if you are allergic be aware. We enjoyed petting the cats. I will say there are cats everywhere in Dubrovnik, so this was not a problem for us at all. Overall a very nice stay. We would definitely stay again.

What a beautiful little room in the heart of Old Town I’m Dubrovnik. I was a quick walk to everything. Every little detail was perfect. My stay started by meeting Aleta at check in. She was kind, funny and had great knowledge of the city and recommendations for me. The directions from check in to my little room were easy to follow. The room was up about 5 flights of stone stairs around the corner. The room was perfect, the amenities were great, everything was clean. And the check out experience was again perfect. They held my bags after check out so I could do a final kayaking tour. Aleta was there again when I was leaving and she went above and beyond again. They let me freshen up and shower they have for guests after check out, which was a great perk. The hotel was perfect and I can’t say enough good things about Aleta… she made my stay in Dubrovnik better with her kindness and recommendations. Thank you so much! I’ll be back.

Spent 4 days in Dubrovnik and could not ask for anything more. The location is fantastic as it is in walking distance from the old town and many fantastic restaurant. Dino was a wonderful host who was extremely helpful showing us the best location to eat. Without his advice we would never have gone to the island of lokrum, which happened to be one of our favourite days. We arrived well before check in time but Dino allowed us to leave our bags in his apartment, as previously ranged by email. He then took my number and messaged me to tell me the apartment was ready when we were, well before check in time.
