We chose to stay here three nights based on favorable reviews and reasonable prices. The hotel is located in former military barracks not far from the city center in the local area Petershausen. The change to a modern hotel is very successful, and we enjoyed our stay here. The location is in a residential area without restaurants, but a good supermarket is nearby. It is a quiet area, and we found ample parking behind the hotel. In Konstanz, you have to pay a tourist tax, but you also receive some benefits, such as free use of the city buses. Every guest will get a Guest card, which is good for bus travel during your stay. It is possible to walk to the center, but a lot easier to walk 5 to 10 minutes to the bus stop Zähringer Platz, where you will find several bus lines taking you downtown within minutes. The hotel only has one rather old lift, and it is only operating when the front desk is staffed. So be prepared to walk the stairs if you arrive after 9 pm. Our room was large and clean and the beds comfy. A fridge and a small kitchen was available too. Very friendly staff throughout the hotel gave good advice on where to eat and what to see. The included breakfast was adequate and enjoyable, and we would definitely come back.

We absolutely loved our stay at HARBR. The boutique hotel was just the right amount of trendy for us. Great decor and service. We rented one of the "apartments" that had a large living space with kitchenette and w/c on one floor with stairs heading up to a "loft" area where the bed and main bathroom was located. We had great views out toward the park near the lake. The hotel was a bit further out from the old city center than we expected, but that wasn't the hotel's fault, just ours as it was our first visit to Konstanz. It was a 15 minute walk, and a lovely walk at that. There was also a bus line right outside the hotel we could have used for going further distances. Happy that the hotel offered parking (NOT included in the lodging price) with in and out privilages as we had driven our own car to the hotel, and used it to get to some of the sights a bit further away (Mainau Island, Rhinefalls). The morning breakfast buffet was extensive, and to assure proper distancing you had to sign up for set time. For us that was perfect as we could change the time each day of our stay dependent on our other activities. We would happily stay at this hotel again.

We spent 1 night in this IBIS (on the way back from our ski HD in Südtirol). Overall, we were happy with our family room (divided into 2 spaces via sliding door) despite the gloomy view from the windows. The breakfast was generous and forms part of the price for staying at the hotel. After 9:00am, it got pretty full, so make sure you go before the big mass of people! The underground garage is worth the fee, esp. if you have any concerns with the security in the area. It is easily accessible and well lit. Around the hotel, there are a couple of restaurants and grocery shops/supermarkets as well as a disco. The town centre can be reached by 2 different buses. The coffee machine, flavoured water, pool table and the cocktail bar are among the "advantages" of this hotel and provide you with a chance to relax in the cosy lobby before going to sleep...

we stayed here for 5 nights, the hotel itself is in a very good location opposite the Rheinstrandbad, our room was nice and clean and the daily cleaning was excellent, We would like to mention that we did not have a friendly welcome on check in. Far from it. We were greeted with a grunted mumble by a lady receptionist who was busy at the pc. After a little while her colleague appeared and checked us in but we were left with a feeling of being unwelcome. We were almost considering finding another hotel. The parking at the hotel is run by the city and is quite expensive. There should be some incentive by the hotel to get a better deal for the guests. (shoulder rolling was the answer at the reception desk) We asked for leaflets about the city but there were non "due to Covid 19" On a more positive note: one morning we experienced a friendly encounter with another receptionist who helped us with our laundry and all went really well.

Not much to complain about. An electronic check in, quite innovative! Parking of the property is recomended as outside only 2h at the time are permitted and pritty expensive. The room was just as described in the options (if coupoles I recomend to 1.60 bed, as we find the French size bed , 1.40, a bit too small), loved the balcony, spacious and the individual heating the had temperature regulation. A small microwave was provoded, kettle, cutlery and fridge (we did not use them however). Location was fine, 10 min walk from the center and not to buisy and noisy. Main road was 2 blocks away making it easely reachable by car. Linen and towels provided and clean, so was soap. Did not try breakfast. One only negative thing was the floor which was stiky in one part of the room.

The hotel and the surroundings are amazingly beautiful. It is great being on a private island just steps away from the old town. Medieval former monastery with a cloister with paintings from the late 1800s of historical events. Large lovely terrace with fantastic lake views. An enclosed sunbathing area ("beach" with terraced lawns) with access to go into the water. Towels are provided and there is a shower. I enjoyed my daily swims; the water temperature was pleasant. There were warnings about strong currents but that was nothing to worry about (but young children should of course be supervised). I could feel som currents just by the terrace of the bar but it's not like it's the Pacific ocean. We had a superior twin room and paid the extra fee of 20 euros to have a terrace/balcony. These rooms are on the side of the building so you get a nice lateral lake view especially if you are in the rooms nearest the lake (for example rooms 214, 215 and 217). We also enjoyed looking at the storks that live in a high tree in the garden. I found the room to be relatively small for a 5 star hotel, but it was ok. Rather typical hotel furniture. I appreciated that there was good closet space. However, I didn't like the bathroom door which seems to be an international trend as I've seen it in several other places: A frosted glass door with gaps on the sides and underneath. As much as I liked staying at this hotel, and would recommend it to anyone who goes to Konstanz, I wonder a little how it can have 5 stars as the service level isn't really up to it. There were two water bottles in the room when we arrived but these were not replaced during our 4 night stay. However, we appreciated the water bottles given for the journey on the very hot day when we checked out. I would recommend making use of the "Do not disturb" sign. One day, housekeeping entered our room without knocking - it was 11.45 AM so I suppose a lot of people would be out but they shouldn't assume that. The next morning they knocked on our door at 8.30 when we were sleeping, then again at 9:20 and at 9:55. I found the service in the Zeppelin bar to be a bit slow. They also turned the light off for the outside seating at about 11 PM, without any warning, even though we were several people sitting there and the bar is open till midnight. Most mornings, when we arrived for breakfast, the staff was busy cleaning and setting tables and nobody greeted us, assigned tables or acknowledged our existence in any way. So we seated ourselves and this led to that we once accidentally "stole" the table of 2 other persons who were inside getting food at the buffet (the table wasn't marked as taken). The selection at the breakfast buffet was decent but not fantastic. It might have been more limited than usual because of the Corona situation. Bottled juices and other cold drinks are available on a table which is somewhat hard to find: there is a sign in German only, informing guests where it is and I did not

We stayed at the Graf Zeppelin on three nights whilst cycling around Lake Constance (340 miles). The location is superb, the breakfast abundant and varied. Easy access to the Altstadt and the cycling lanes leading out of town. But for me the thing that really set them apart was their depth of care for their guests. They always went the extra mile to ensure our comfort and that our needs were met. I had come off of business in Bonn, so I was traveling with a heavy bag of electronics. They offered to secure them in their office — no talk of charge. We had our little dog, a 4 pound Yorkie with us. No problem, no extra charge. Always a smile and an easy solution to any need. I can’t thank them enough and am eager for my next visit.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Nice breakfast included, usual German standard of meats, cheese, yogurt and cereal. Room was nice and comfortable, the staff were great and the location was fantastic (located above McDonalds) It's not got a bar or anything extra although they do sell beer from a fridge in the breakfast room. I would definitely return to this hotel.

We have just completed a two week tour of Germany, staying at nine different hotels. Though apparenty one of the highest-rated hotels on our trip, this hotel was the worst one we stayed in. The check-in was very unfriendly and long-winded, and we were asked to pay for everything in advance, including the room (for which we had already pre-paid), to "simplify the check-out process". We had paid extra for a superior room with a lake view. Don't bother - the lake can just about be seen over the bus station and railway station that are directly in front of the hotel. The room was also very noisy, as the windows were not very well sealed. Breakfast was excellent, but the dining-room staff were fairly incompetent and the cleaning standards between (the rigidly enforced) breakfast sittings left a lot to be desired. Do not come down to breakfast late, as you will be constantly harangued during it that you only have a few minutes left of your allocated time slot.

This hotel is a bit on the unusual site. It is not a hotel in the usual sense, one has rather the feeling that it is a block of flats being rented out to guests. It is in an office building where it resides in the top floors. Unfortunately there are no local parking lots, you can just leave your car for loading and unloading, then you have to move your car to one of the local car parks (about 5-10 minutes by foot). There is also a place where you can leave your bike, but we felt that this area is not safe enough for expensive bikes (it is not even directly on the premises). Apart from that we were extremely positively surprised about this hotel. We have a large and bright double room very new, very clean, very well maintained and also very quiet. The topmost floor contains the reception and the breakfast/evening area with an incredible view over Konstanz. There is also an open terrace where you can have your breakfast and your sundowner. Talking about breakfast: They did a great job here, even though we were there in Corona times. The choice is fantastic, there are eggs, bacon, all kinds of french rolls (including full-wheat ones), great juices, all kinds of spreads and they bring you a fantastic selection of cheese and sausage (including an incredible Bodenseeschinken), Muesli,…. Add to this an incredible service, be it the folks at the breakfast table who were always helpful and attentive, be it the cleaning staff that did a great job and you understand why we think that this is a great hotel for a Konstanz excursion, nicely located right in the heart of the city.

Located 200 meters from the Swiss border in Konstanz, the German hotel management features, the room is not large but very clean. From the Meersburg ferry, I visited the town of Meersburg, and went to the Swiss town to visit the National Park. I was catching up with the Swiss town to report the International Food Festival.
