The hotel is located in the old town part of the little city Höxter. There is obviously a main house as where the reception is located and a second house across the street. You can and I recommend to book a parking place upfront with your stay. The rates a quite low and ease the parking struggle. The entrance to parking is just across the hotel entrance. You can choose between underground car-park and normal car-park - the rates differ slightly. Worth to mention that the ramp down to underground is quite narrow and can be challenging for big cars. Parking itself in the garage is quite spacious and should not be a problem. Upon arrival I was greeted without any warmth but rather technically friendly. Check-in was fast and efficent. I had room in the main house without elevator. Even though I did not had big luggage I was not even asked for courtesy if I need help with my luggage. It was just assumed that I will carry it a couple flight of stairs to my room. The room was tidy, functional and spacoius and offered everything you might expect from hotel of this category and rural location. WiFi reception was also OK and free of charge. Breakfast in buffet style was plenty and good. Overall a good hotel with very good breakfast. Service is unfortunatly rather "operative" without any warmth and mindfulness...

This review concerns only the restaurant. It is situated in a country-style hotel overlooking the Weser river. The front dining room is charmingly decorated; we sat in a second room towards the back which was also OK but the accoustics made it hard to hear. Our food in general was very good: exceptionally crisp and tasty rösti potatoes with a cream veal sauce (the menu description said the rösti was stuffed, but the meat came as a side dish, and the meat could have been a bit less tough); trout, and a fish variation plate. The salad dressing was excellent. We felt the prices were acceptable considering the restaurant’s setting and its dishes.

I first visited this wonderful old hotel, in the beautiful old town of Nieheim, in 2006. It was a wonderful experience. Sadly, the hotel closed, but was recently restored to its old glory and reopened. I didnt stay there last year but experienced excellent hospitality and service when I dined there with some old friends. Am returning this July, and this time staying there. Very much looking forward to it.

We enjoyed lunch at the restaurant, and found it to be very good. The cozy dining area is conducive to linger, and locals seem to enjoy the place for special celebrations. The menu leans towards local specialties, and we found the local trout excellent. Prices are mid-range but remain reasonable.Very enjoyable place! We cannot comment on the hotel accommodation, since we did not stay there, but the establishment looks well- looked after.

It’s the first time we have visited this restaurant, and the food was absolutely delicious. We live in the nearby village and will definitely return. The staff were friendly and really nice. This is a little gem of a place, loads of history and a warm friendly atmosphere. Thanks very much Paul & Family

The hotel is very nice and clean. The staff very friendly and were great with English. It’s a little off the beaten path but the area is nice. The hotel has a nice outside area and the evening meal was good (perhaps a little expensive depending on your point of view). Breakfast in the conservatory with all you need to start the day. The hotel takes card - I mention it because Germany is a little behind in accepting hard-cash alternatives. Business or short stays perfect - probably not a long stay destination though.

We did not stay at this hotel, but ate on the terrace on the river for lunch. The food was very good. The service was a bit slow, as they were very full. The food was certainly worth the wait, as the view was most relaxing.
