Excellent central location. Staff are lovely and always there to help. Rooms were large and clean. Breakfast was lovely, vegetable with roti, fruit, juice, tea or a choice of continental breakfast. We stayed as a family in a two bedroom apartment. Safe and secure. We left all our cash and belongings at the apartment when we went out without any problems. We also had our luggage kept in a luggage room after checkout as we visited the city. We came back to collect the luggage, we were offered tea on the house. The staff go out of their way and I will definitely stay here again in future. Definitely recommend. Only negative comment is that there were ants in the room but that was resolved straight away by the staff by spraying aerosol. It is Bangladesh and you will find ants wherever you go so don’t be put off.

The Hotel Shuktara markets itself as a luxury business budget hotel, which is a very apt description. While applying for my visa on arrival, the officials insisted on keeping my printed hotel reservation, so make sure to print it twice! Even without the hardcopy, I had no problem checking in, and was warmly received. My room was modern & looked nice, with funky blue lights. It featured a sitting area, a minibar and sufficient closet space. The bathroom was small, but functional. The biggest drawback was the WiFi, which didn't work most of the time. Even when it did work, it was excruciatingly slow and basically unusable. I quickly resorted to buying a local SIM card. Even without WiFi, the Hotel Skuktara offers great value for money.

The hotel traffic is fairly convenient. In the old Dhaka area, the surrounding environment is not good. The surroundings are like slums, very noisy and difficult to sleep. Not in the very prosperous Sundaka. Hygiene, service has nothing to say, very good. But if you call, don’t let the hotel call you a car. If you find a car from a Chinese boss, you can use a car of 3,000 taka a day, and a hotel car will cost you 7,000 taka a day, which is more than doubled.

This hotel is in city center which is best for location, large Central Park , university , hospital all are around it, international standard breakfast was amazing. I don't know really from where I have to start..! I stayed in this hotel for few hours only after check in by evening 9 pm as I need to leave by morning 6 am to Dhaka airport. Me and my brother could not sleep whole night even for 5 mint, the dangerous Mosquitoes was around and biting us very badly. We was just struggling to kill them which was so embarrassing. We have called 3 times to inform Hotel reception , they send killing spray ( Aerosol) at the room but doesn't work at all. The room should be hassle free from the beginning before guest arrive as its nothing new for Dhaka, but not in Hotel Rooms..!! There are few things I observe which need to be fixed by management, doesn't matter it's 5 star OR 3 star hotel as.. 1. I have found lot of blood spot on the blanket and bed sheet even the bath towel which was really dirty. room slipper not provided 2.Room lights was not working (front of the dressing table mirror specially) 3. No hot water available for shower (Its very common facility in any Hotel) 4.There was no tissue box at the room (given after 4 hours and reminding twice) 5.Front desk staff should be available at all the time ( I wake them up at 6:15 am as they was sleeping covered with blanket like home near the sofa area in the middle of lobby which is first time seen in my life) 6. The staffs are not friendly and they should serve their guest positively with more details. No complains but all above feedback will help the management to refill the gaps for future service. I believe small things makes lot of difference.

Although the building and equipment are old, the quality of the service far outweighs that. Not only were we treated politely at check-in and breakfast, but when we called a taxi to take us to the airport at check-out, they carried us to the door of the taxi under an umbrella in a downpour. It was also the first time in my life. Breakfast was almost reserved for me, and I was told about various things like juice, bread, and eggs, and it was a pleasant feeling to have someone by my side without being too noisy. It looks like a 2 star hotel, but it was very comfortable. I would like to stay here again when I visit Bangladesh.

Generally speaking, it is very close to the airport and the N3 highway, so it is easy to find. There is a big supermarket nearby for shopping, and the breakfast is rich. The facilities may look old due to the design style, unlike the more than 200 hotels in China. The price of more than 400 is indeed a bit expensive.
