Upon our check-in we immediately noticed trash strewn about the grass areas and dozens of cigarette butts scattered about the walkways and lawn. There were plastic bottles, food scraps, wrappers and various other gross items strewn about the grass areas outside all of the rooms. In 25+ rooms there are families living at the property (on a permanent basis) that clearly do not care about the other hotel “guests”. In the evening, furniture from inside the rooms had been moved out to the walkway and lawn area. From 7:30p until well past midnight there were adults speaking very loudly and children running about screaming in the common area. On both sides of our room were adults smoking in non-smoking rooms. I expressed my displeasure on the first and second day to the front desk staff, but nothing changed. As for the room itself, the floor and the bathroom clearly hadn’t had a deep clean in a long time. We used sanitizing wipes on all the hard surfaces before settling in. In hopes of getting the room well cleaned on our first night, I left a tip for housekeeping. Imagine my surprise when the money was taken BUT the room was NOT cleaned. The only thing we got were new towels left on the bed. We had stayed at this property several times in the past, so were SHOCKED by the change. It was our favorite hotel because we travel with dogs. Prior to this stay, we were able to safely walk dogs at any time of the night or early morning. It's also near several great food choices. Previously, the rooms had been very clean and the grounds well maintained; not any more. This is such a disappointment. I will not be returning.

The hotel looks good! Very close to the nearby college, but still need to drive there! Sanitation needs to be improved. It is close to roads and highways, which will have a slight impact at night. The hotel has a microwave and refrigerator, and you need to cross a bridge hole to go to McDonald’s in the south

The hotel is the best established hotel in the town where Claremont 5 is located. Quite satisfactory. Facilities are a bit dated. I found that there were stains on the sheets at night when I slept at night. Forget it, just sleep. The service attitude of the hotel staff was neither cold nor hot. My hotel room included breakfast, but the breakfast room still gave bills and tips. Very uncomfortable.

We are mystified by the previous poor reviews and wonder what hotel they are describing. My husband and I found the following: The family who owns and manages this hotel are kind and competent. Our check in was handled by a pleasant, professional young woman. The room itself appeared to be newly remodeled in 2019 furnishings, flooring, bathroom tile and paint colors. Very neat and clean. All appliances and technology worked perfectly. The hotel itself reflects a pride of place with topiary shrubs and freshly planted flowers. In closing, our only suggestion to the previous complainers is that if they can not recognize an excellent value in lodging, they should just stay home.

If you are visiting Los Angeles by car, you can consider choosing this hotel, but it is a little far away, about 60 kilometers from the center, and a 50-minute drive. However, the hotel location is very quiet with snow mountain views. The suites are great value, large and comfortable. Ideal for family travel

Overall the stay was OK. But the bathroom in general were ugly. Toilet and tub looked old and full of stains that with the past of the years have become part of the decoration. The hairdryer was broken, literally has TAPE on it and of course when I tried to used it, it had a horrible smell coming of it.

Overall the place was clean. I watched for bugs and saw none. We were on the first floor in a room that had to have been a storage space at one point in time. Very roomy but kinda weird. The thermostat for our room was OUTSIDE our room. Kind of inconvenient and you would think that would be an easy fix. The free breakfast was your usual Comfort Inn stuff. Prefab scrambled eggs, some sort of meat substance, yogurts, coffee, juice, cereal. Not great but if you wanted great you would be going to an actual restaurant, right? The neighborhood is iffy at best but the hotel seems secure and the staff was especially attentive and friendly. I'm giving it 4 out of 5 because it really deserves a 7.5 out of ten but that's not an option.

Book two big bed rooms, the bed is very big, the thin person feels that one can sleep three people, there is no breakfast there, not far from the early shop opened by the Chinese, it is cheap and delicious, the boss is very good Chinese Communication, the parking lot in front of the door, the hotel location is close to the high speed, a bit noisy, the hotel facilities are generally sanitary, others are good, it is worth staying

Pros: Quiet location, comfortable guest rooms, reasonable prices, charming, outstanding staff. Cons: No housekeeping currently offered. One of the things I loathe about visiting the Los Angeles area is finding a decent hotel in a less-than-congested area. The Best Western Pine Tree Motel has made sure this is nothing I have to worry about in the future. Chino is outside LA proper but still within a reasonable drive of everything from Anaheim to Santa Monica to Hollywood. Despite this proximity to busy locales, Chino itself is quiet and suburban, feeling a world away from the commotion. It was a pleasure returning every night, especially because my room was such a pleasant place to stray. Despite being an older property, the owners and management obviously care about how it presents. I was shocked to learn my room was about to be remodeled because everything looked new and needed no improvement. The bed was comfortable, the fridge was large, the desk was functional, and the bathroom was spacious. I stayed five nights and would have been happy with many more, if necessary. It's not luxurious, but functional in a boutique hotel kind of way. The staff deserves accolades for being friendly and accommodating, especially through an unforeseen circumstance that was no fault of the property. Their responsiveness and attention to detail should serve as a model for customer service at hotels and motels costing much more. Speaking of which, the nightly rates were very affordable. I felt as though I got a lot more than what I paid, which is unusual these days. If there is one issue, it's that housekeeping service is completely suspended. I'm not sure if it's the result of a local rule/guideline or a decision on the part of the property, but staying five nights without someone cleaning the bathroom floor and vacuuming the carpet was a little excessive- in my travels I've been to properties meeting guests in between by offering housekeeping services every three or four nights, and I would have been satisfied with that solution. Regardless, I will absolutely be returning here next time in the area. There are plenty of stressful things about traveling to the Los Angeles area, but finding an incredible place to stay will no longer be one of them.

I checked in and turned around and a line of people were complaining about no hot water. I turned back around to the clerk and asked for a refund as I di not need a room with no hot water. She informed me that she could do nothing about the wrong she just did me. I would have to wait and get a refund if then at ten am for some reason. I went to the room and the tv did not work there was no heat and the sink was clogged and nasty. I asked for another room but they said sold out and lied and said there would be hot water in the morning. They let me know how much I was appreciated when they laughed at me for complaining about freezing and being dirty in the morning. Avoid this disaster.
