You will love this historic hotel! Emma and Lorentz are the most wonderful hosts. The rooms are spotless and cozy with incredible views. The breakfast buffet is huge and delicious. We had two dinners here and they were superb! Hjelle Hotel is in one of the most beautiful settings! We love being able to hike directly from the hotel and the Segestad Mountain Farm hike is stunning. This is our third trip to Norway and Hjelle Hotel has been a MUST for every trip!

The host wasn't around when we arrived, but there was a phone number at the reception hut and things were sorted out quickly. The cabin is lovely with good facilities. Nice surroundings close to the water. There were no nearby restaurants open during this time of year (10th September), so we went to the supermarket to buy some groceries to cook dinner.  The kitchen is very complete to cook a decent meal, everything is there incl. salt, pepper and oil. Lovely modern and squeaky clean bathroom. Comfy bed and a large sofa to relax and watch TV. Good value for the money.

We stayed in two Twin room with Fjord View rooms. The views from the rooms were exceptional. The rooms were very nice, and the bathrooms had baths. There's a noisy waterfall (beautiful - it's a must-see from close!) below, but it doesn't disturb sleep. Breakfast was excellent. On the 4th floor they have a washing machine and dryer (unfortunately only one, and there's a lot of competition...). Had to park on the grass outside the hotel, since the parking lot was full. The indoor pool was very nice and warm.
