The hotel is a very good hotel, but it is a small, economic hotel. The hotel is very well located in the centre of Tanabe, which is very convenient when you arrive by train (the station is a few minutes walk) or then take the bus to go to the Kumano Kodo. The hotel is located in the heart of the city centre, in the heart of the city centre, in the heart of the city centre, in the heart of the city centre, in the heart of the city centre, in the heart of the city centre, in the heart of the city centre, in the heart of the city centre, in the heart of the city centre, in the heart of the city centre, in the heart of the city centre, in the heart of the city centre, in the heart of the city centre, in the heart of the city centre, in the The couple who manage this hotel is very sympathetic despite a very limited level of English. With the backwards, I regret to have reserved only two nights in this hotel. The breakfast time schedule (from 07:00 to 09:00) is difficult to respect (if not, it is the receptionist who contacts you at 08:30 on the room telephone to remind us!)

I use it for business. The cleanliness and size of the rooms are perfect. The large public bath is very large, and the open-air bath is very comfortable. One problem is that there are no convenience stores or ATMs. There are shops, but the convenience is not very good.

The surrounding facilities were a bit far, but the hotel itself was luxurious and I felt like a trip. It was good that there was a large bath.

Use coupon tickets. I thought it was okay from the appearance, but it was normal. The dishes were thin and insufficient, but the hot springs were large and good. There was an open-air bath in the room. There are also toritore market and toritore hot springs nearby, and it will be convenient for you to come by car. It would have flourished in the Showa period.

Just going to the exterior of the hotel room, the interior is quite normal, hahaha~ The room is a style, and you have to make your own bed. There are six people in the cabinet. It may be that the ecological environment is better, and two small reptiles are found in the room. The restaurant has to walk down the mountain from the guest room for a few minutes. The breakfast and dinner are buffet style, and the dinner will be served as a meal. Since the hotel and the fish market next to it are all a company, there is no need to say the ingredients. The big hot spring is the big bath in the country, and the small hot spring is on the second floor of the restaurant. Ps: The hotel is building a new guest room area, one looks like an Indian tent.

J-Hoppers was the most inexpensive place we stayed while hiking the Kumano Kodo. The majority of the clientele is younger and hiking the trail as well. This is great for building comradery with fellow hikers. My favorite part of the stay at J-Hoppers is the communal dining room where you can meet other hikers while fixing dinner. We had purchased a lunch from our previous accommodation and ate our lunch for dinner. The hostel is clean. The private room was large enough and the shared sink and toilet stalls are plentiful. The hosts are very busy while other hikers are checking in and don't really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. You are more or less on your own. They do provide a brief introduction to the facility but getting additional information may be difficult. The hostel does have a nice selection of food and beverage that they sell. The onsens are nice although they were not as clean as others along the trail. There were some floatees in the water which made us feel a little uncomfortable. The hostel does not provide towels so you have to rent one or bring your own. The price we paid for the room wasn't that much cheaper than other accommodations which provided much more hospitality. The place was okay but there may be better options if you are looking for a private room with more hospitality.

We stayed here for 3 nights and we absolutely love it, our room was pretty big, opposite is the onsen river where you can just jump in with your swim suit, love the onsen of the ryokan too, they have indoor, outdoor and also the private onsen all for yourself, we find nothing to do in the evening around and we pretty happy just to stay in the ryokan and enjoy the onsen and our ryokan dinner, they have a van to drop you off and pick you up if you want to do a short Kumano Kodo, the pilgrimage trail, from here you can take a bus to Yunomine Onsen and try the oldest onsen 1800 years Tsuboya, don’t forget to buy some eggs to boiled and eat after your onsen time in Yunomine, small onsen town. We were really happy with our choice for staying here, staff doesn’t speak English but still try their best to understand us and we’re very appreciate about it, great place, great service and excellent ryokan dinner, the breakfast is not my taste but still happy 😊

We used it for a accompanying birthday trip. We arrived and went to the family bath immediately. The family bath is not a reservation system but a system to enter the empty place. Because the room was buried in all rooms badly, I went out after 30 minutes. I was lucky to enter the second time. It's really cold in winter because it's taken off in an open dressing room (laughs) The family bath in the place I entered was an open-air bath without a roof. Even if it is a family bath, it is good to enjoy this bath without additional fee. The dishes were luxurious, but I was sorry that I couldn't eat them because I had too much lunch. It would have been delicious if I was hungry. . . The next morning, I went to an ordinary large bath. When I go here, yukata is essential. I think it is to distinguish it from the general person who does not stay. Yukata is cold because it passes outside to go to the bath place... The morning bath was empty and the open-air bath was also occupied alone. Is it unusual to have so many open-air baths? The rain was disturbing, but there was also a roof in 々 so there was no problem. There was hot spring porridge for breakfast.

When I arrived at Watase Onsen after dark in the evening, despite the language barrier, the uncle at the front desk took the initiative to use the translation software to explain in detail the use of the hotel’s facilities and the opening hours of the hot springs. Let us move in as soon as possible.

The hotel is very nice and very modern. We were greeted wonderfully by the reception staff and shown straight to our room (805). The room was traditional Japanese and very large. It has a magnificent view over the river, has an ensuite and own shower room and of course the wonderful Japanese electric toilet seats. The only drawback for us was the traditional Japanese bed, which we aren’t used to, so sleep wasn’t great due to the hardness of the bed. There are block out shutters, so look for them otherwise you’ll have an early wakening. We had dinner included in our stay and it was amazing. A set meal and also choices from the Japanese smorgasbord. Absolutely delicious. The hotel also has Japanese baths available, both inside & outside. Once again these are amazing and so relaxing. Breakfast was also well up to standard with a great choice. I would absolutely recommend staying at this hotel.

We were able to use the facilities of Midori-ya, a sister hotel just two minute walk. The dinner and breakfast buffet was amazing, although it would be more helpful if they had English menu. The outdoor bath was the best I have seen in Japan, overlooking the beautiful river.
