Water garden is a beautiful resort to get away from the hustle bustle of Colombo. Special shout-out to Gihan who was looked into our every need during our stay. Cheers for an excellent service. We were offered a scenic and an informative board ride during which the naturalist gave an insight to the property as well as it's surroundings. Many thanks to Sabrina who ensured that we were well looked after. Rooms were beautifully designed in such a way that guest privacy is maintained and keep the guests engaged with nature.

We stayed here for just one night to visit the sites of Anuradhapura but we would have happily stayed longer! It was absolutely terrific value for money - the room was large and spotlessly clean, and fresh towels etc were all provided. The service from the staff was also excellent - we arrived when it was absolutely pouring with rain and we were helped in with umbrellas and shown to our room. We were also driving our own car so can confirm that parking was easy and the gated front made the parking feel secure. We paid for breakfast in the morning where we had string hoppers with fish curry and sat at a little table outside to eat where there were nice flowers pots and a real effort had been made with the little garden. The food was delicious and great value. This is a budget hotel so guests expectations must be in line with that - for the price this far exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much for a lovely stay!

Uga Ulagalla Resort is a private luxury resort located in a beautiful green forest in the heart of Sri Lanka. This is the most serene, soothing, and exquisitely built property. Spaciously laid out, with incredibly comfortable spacious villas including personal plunge pools, enormous balconies placed amongst enormous trees in the forest. We stayed here for two nights in February 2024 and had a fantastic time altogether. The staff went above and above to make our stay unforgettable, and everyone from the front desk to the various sections is really nice and attentive. We were wonderfully taken care of from the minute we entered the building until we left. Throughout our stay, Dilrukshi and Darshika ensured that we were having fun and were constantly eager to learn what might be done to improve things. The food was just fantastic, and the service was excellent. There was a broad choice of options from an a la carte menu. Shiraz deserves special recognition for providing extremely helpful and good customer service while maintaining impeccable decorum. Kayaking at sunrise was a breathtaking experience, and I'd want to thank Katharina for making our stay at Uga Ulagalla so unforgettable. The buggy driver, Vimukthi, provided exceptional customer service with excellent manners, proving to be very helpful. We went horseback riding and absolutely appreciated the experience. If you want to spend a nice and peaceful holiday in Sri Lanka, Uga Ulagalla Resort is the ideal destination. THANK YOU!!!

Stop for one night in the economy room. It is clear that for such a price it is not worth expecting anything substantial, but the mattresses were straight very bad, just a piece of fine poron, which is instantly sold to the most boards and in fact lie almost on boards. But it was all expected for such a price, so in general approx. Beautiful territory with garden and tables with views on the rice field. What spoiled the impression: Breakfast! Ordered it extra because it did not go out in the cost of the housing, and I definitely don't recommend taking it in this place. This is not like a classic Lanca breakfast that is served in hotels of the same price category, and is twice as expensive as the same!

We had a great 2 night stay at Milano Rest. The hotel has a retro Cuban vibe, and the rooms were nice and well arranged. The service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly helpful and accomodating about meals, organised a very reasonably-priced tuk tuk and tour of Anuradhapura and Mihintale, and generally ensured our stay was fantastic. Would highly recommend!

Unpleasant staff. The confirmed room was unavailable when we arrived at the hotel. Disgraceful customer service with inappropriate communication with guests. The hospitality level is nil. I will never recommend to any person to make bookings. These people ruin tourism in Sri Lanka. Please don’t waste your time visiting this place because it's located too far away from the city center and pilgrim sites. Please find the attached photos taken on location when we leave the place to look another in the town. The hotel is located in Anuradhapura, with beautiful pagoda ruins visible across a large lake. The environment of the hotel is quite beautiful, and the swimming pool is also very good. The supply of buffet breakfast is not stable. We stayed for 4 nights in a row. Breakfast was buffet breakfast on two days and set meal on two days. The explanation given by the hotel was that the buffet breakfast was not open because the tour bus had left and there were too few people. Anyway, it’s quite interesting to have a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. Picture 1 is the set breakfast we had (the portions were huge), and Pictures 2 and 3 are the buffet breakfast.
