Very nice, well kept hotel, in the center of Heraklion. Exceptional Staff! HONEST, Kind, helpful courteous and very accommodating. The room was recently renovated and was kept spotless clean daily. Breakfast buffet was excellent . I have to mentioned my most delightful experience at this hotel beside the staff warmth hospitality. After my 2 nights stay at this hotel, A week later after I returned from my vacation. I realized that I've left my wedding band on the night stand, as soon as I contacted the hotel they send me a picture of my ring that the maid found and hand it over to the Manager Sofia. Ever since, I've been in contact with her. I cannot thank the Manager and her team enough at this hotel. I'm sure everyone that stayed there experienced this hospitality. I will definitely stay there again. less

Location is great! It's right in the pedestrian zone so easy to walk around to shops, restaurants, and the Heraklion Archaeology Museum. Unfortunately the closest parking was not free and it was a few blocks away. The pedestrian area is super busy so was dropped off to check in and then driver could not get back to drop off luggage, had to park and cart it several blocks to hotel. People out at the cafe across the street till 12:30 am, had to use A/C to drown out the noisy street below. Hotel is very old, could use a good cleaning in the room. The bathroom and shower were super small and smelled badly. Good wifi, A/C, shampoo and soap provided, beds were hard, sheets were scratchy. The breakfast included stale cookies and bread, a cheese, a meat, a hardboiled egg, coffee, apple, canned peaches, yogurt, cereal, juice, tomato, cheese, and cucumber. There was one available plug a USA adapter could fit into. We unplugged the tv and fridge to charge our phones. Was told parking was 8 Euros a day but could not find it, so parked at a closer place with an hourly rate. Cost 75 euros for 3 people.

We booked this hotel for a quick one night stay closer to the airport but boy, were we surprised! First off, the airport is really close to the city so don't think this is 'way out' near the airport -- no it is actually a short walk to the main square (where the bus leaves for Knossos) and the archeological museum. But we were on an evening flight and renting a car at the airport the next day so we didn't want to pay a fortune for taxis to and from the airport. In the end, the taxis were just 10-12 euros. All that being said, this hotel was one of our favourites in Greece for being modern, spacious, and with a fantastic breakfast served in our room. Great shower, lovely toiletries, Nespresso coffee maker, and a tray of biscuits out in the foyer. Dimitri was friendly and truly wants his guests to be happy and to enjoy their stay. True, the building has no street appeal and it is a little further from the centre of town, but the room, breakfast and service make up for all that!

I never gave such a bad evaluation to a hotel. Today I was really mad at him. I got off the boat at 7 in the morning and went to the hotel. The hotel said that I booked a single room and could not take the children. But before I booked, I saw the hotel page and I can take the child for free. I contacted Ctrip, maybe With the help of Ctrip, the hotel finally said that I can take the children, but tell me this is a gift. I had breakfast the next morning, and I took my child to drive to the Pink Beach. I went to the second hotel and found that my washed socks were forgotten at this hotel. Because I finally returned to Heraklion Airport by plane, I will pass this again. Hotel, so I called the hotel and saw that I didn't see two pairs of socks. The next night I called to say that I was going to work after cleaning. Let me call again the next morning. On the third morning, I called to ask the hotel to find no. The hotel said that he would call me back later. But I haven’t received the call. I drove for three hours. When I returned to Heraklion, I called the hotel again. The hotel said that I didn’t find it. I said why didn’t you call me back, he I said that I had not answered the call, but there was no missed call in my call log. I think it might be that I was somewhere in the box and didn't fall in the hotel. I returned to the UK on the third night and found that I was not in the box. I called and asked the hotel. If I threw it or lost it, the hotel insisted that it was not. One more thing, the parking lot of this hotel is very small. There is no place to park when I come back at 5 pm. I leave the car keys to the hotel. The hotel is responsible for moving the car, but the next morning, when I set off, the car stopped. On the side of the road, I was boasted a little bit. I didn't know what would happen in the future. I didn't care about him. The car rental company generally didn't look at small scars. I didn't forget it. The service of this hotel is really not good.

My partner and I wrote a previous review titled " hidden jewel of Crete" we still stand by this and again we really enjoyed our holiday, right until the moment we left and that's when things changed. We had our own shuttle taxi collecting us at 10pm. We had to be out of the room by 12pm so it had been a long day. We confirmed our collection the night before and so when a taxi turned up for us at 10pm we assumed it was the 1 we had already paid for. So we arrive at the airport and we thank the driver when he suddenly asks us for a payment!! I got mad quite quickly and pulled out the booking confirmation, time and receipt. I asked the driver who booked him and he said it was Nicholas the hotel owner. We never asked Nikolas to call us a taxi but he did mutter something to us saying " u have taxi at 10pm?" To which we nodded. Anyway the poor taxi driver is going mad as I'm refusing to pay for a service we had already paid for. So the driver calls Nikolas and he said we asked him to call 1 and we had to pay!. He gives the phone to his English speaking son who shouts at me saying I have to pay. The really annoying thing is that they knew we had gotten mixed up as our shuttle bus/ taxi would have called out our names at the hotel and they would have been well aware that they booked us a taxi for no reason but they still tried to make it our mistake with no apology. The good natured taxi driver even knew it wasnt our fault and shrugged and drove off without payment. Please be aware when u stay that you may think they understand what your saying but they obviously dont. Angela and Nikolas are lovely people but their English is not good. Just wanted to let others know so the mistake can be avoided as we could have been arrested at the airport if the driver wasnt so understanding. That said , it's still a very beautiful place to stay and I would recommend it. You will need to hire a moped, quad or car as it's a fairly long hot walk down to the beach. They are much better beaches in the area but without transport u wont know cos the area is spread out and much too far to walk to other beaches. Also dont pay for a quad safari its €35 a day for a 200cc quad and u can go off reading on ur own. We went flying along every single off road track we could find......you really get to discover the area properly and see all the areas that most dont see. We are 40 and 47 and we were taken back to our twenties again!!

Very good location, close to the port, long distance and short-distance bus station. Walk for a few minutes. It is also close to the busiest square, full of restaurants and cafes. No need to choose a sea view room, the window is small, a little sea view. The front desk service is very good, the commercial atmosphere of Crete is not strong, people are very friendly!

This boutique hotel is really fantastic. Brand new with great location just in the heart of Heraklio city. The hotel is wheelchair accessible and has wheelchair accessible room. There is a ramb for the entrance, elevators and all the necessesary amenities. The hotel is located just in the up area of the old city so there are no extra uphill climbing. Just opposite the street of the hotel there is square with a very small slope that leads to the central pavement road with all the shops, bars and restaurants of the city. Also there is a private company parking just next to the hotel. The hotel is high tech and really beautifully designed. The breakfast is really very good with big variety and good quality food. The staff are really polite and helpful. They provided everything we asked for. For sure a "must-stay" hotel if someone is in Heraklio...

I stayed in Mirabello for only 1 night. The hotel is in heraklion citycenter, a stone's throw from souvenir shops, restaurants, cafe, in the most touristic area. It's really hard to find yourself a space for your car, as it happens in the whole city, but there's a private parking lot within 10 meters. There's an evevator inside for the ones who stay up to a floor, the room looked brand new and had a small balcony. The mattres was really soft and cosy, any need was available like towels, soap, toilet paper, wardrobe n' cupboards, chairs, tv, wifi, kettle, coffee n' tea. The a/c was not working but I didn't call for help coz I didn't really need it, or else I guess it could be fixed. After all I wanna thank the receptionist who was really friendly with me and let me stay in my room some extra hours after the check-out regular hour, till my vessel to Piraeus leaves.

This was our second trip to Crete, this time with an objective of going to Spinalonga for a day trip (well worth it). We have not been to a Mitsis hotel before, but this one had good reviews, and for good reason! The hotel is clean, of a very good standard, very well managed, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the food and bars are excellent. Our only issue is that the specialty restaurants are on the pool level and set back, so you don't really get the best view when you are in them; no matter the main restaurant is excellent, and if you sit outside there then you will not be disappointed. Do try the "Dotto" train and the nearby open air theatre. We can also recommend the 4x4 trip into the mountains. I wish I could take this hotel to all the destinations I want to go to!

All in all a nice rustic hotel with modern interior although it has been run down a bit and has some impracticalities. But I honestly was expecting a bit more from it in terms of service, breakfast and the wine aspect. I was doubting to give it 3 or 4 stars. And personally, I wouldn’t come here again but that’s because I slept horribly here plus I was disappointed. And thats a very personal thing. My husband slept OK. The location The brochure said it was located on a winery, complete with a gourmet restaurant and wine tastings. But the ‘restaurant’ only caters for big groups and is mostly used for wines tastings with accompanying finger food. We were a bit disappointment since we were looking forward to gourmet meals and wine tastings. The rooms are located behind the big winery with ‘restaurant’. It consists of 3 rooms, tended by a very nice young woman. Sitting on top of the hill overlooking the vineyard with no noise, it really feels like a retreat. Directly in front of the room is a table and chairs secluded in a small square under a big tree. Relaxing! It can get chilly in the mornings and late in afternoon because of the wind but as soon as you go anywhere else, it’s a lot warmer. They provided a complimentary Boutari white wine. Really nice! But that’s where the wine aspect of the hotel ends.. The room Very spacious ‘room’ or should I say house. It’s an old building turned into a hotel room in a contemporary meets rustic country style (tasteful). In the remodelling they clearly made the attempt to do it right. Some of the hardware is of very high quality like the airco, furniture and router. But since then, it hasn’t been maintained. So the toilet paper holder is hanging on by a thread from the wall, the bugscreen is broken (so lot’s of mosquitoes) and the toilets and bathroom are rusting. Plus a lot of it not very practical, like the bathroom door that bumbs into the ceiling light.. Upstairs in the bedroom, there is a walk-in closet. And one (big enough) suitcase holder. Lot’s of books laying around where Boutari is mentioned in or about their brand (in 2 copies). A bit over kill. There is a small fridge containing a big bottles of water (free) which is added every day. The fridge has plenty of room, even a small freezer. The fridge was too cool, it frooze parts of the water in the bottle. The one thing that stood out was the smell. It smeled like a desserted old home and often smelled like sewage (probably from the shower of sink). Very off putting! A lot of different lights, even one with a dimmer makes for a very nice atmosphere. The windows have shutters which shut out all day light. Perfect! And the wifi emits a soft light to still see a little bit during the night. The bathroom Very spacious bathroom, all in a slick concrete finishing. Looks nice but is slippery when wet. The sink is so imense, it takes away space for your toiletries. And the water is hard to control (in both temprature and volume) so it easily splatters al

Very bad check-in, the room is small, the food is unpalatable The booked suite, whether it is a suite or not, at least the area is not 32~36 square meters as shown on the booking page. There is no TV in the bed. The sofa is old and has a dirty feeling. Note The flowers are bought by yourself, so you can improve your mood. The hotel prevents you from refunding and changing hotels. In short, this hotel will not live anymore. In terms of five stars, it has a false name. It is more expensive than the NJV plaza hotel in Syntagma Square in Athens. The 28 square meters room looks much more spacious than the 32 square meters. The food in the hotel restaurant is very average, the breakfast is too poor, the restaurant on the 5th floor is also unpalatable, the creamy pasta is so unpalatable, and it is salty I booked a car rental for 300 euros through the front desk. I arranged a super broken car and asked to pay in advance. I was speechless when I saw the car. In short, this hotel is not worth staying at. Nor is it the level of a five-star hotel.
