The transportation is convenient. Exit 3 of Kyoto Shiyakusho Station on the Tozai Subway Line leads directly to the downstairs of the hotel. Although the facilities are not smart enough, they are well maintained and easy to use. The service is particularly good. The Japanese breakfast set menu is exquisite and delicious, and the buffet breakfast has both Japanese and Western styles, as well as Chinese steamed dumplings and siomai. It is very close to Kamogawa. There are many delicious restaurants in nearby Kiyamachi (mainly Western) and Pontocho (mainly Japanese). The restaurant is relatively late. The three nearby commercial streets are also very lively, and most shops close early. The view from the room is great, as is the view from the breakfast restaurant.

Love everything about this hotel! The rooms are beautiful. Spa amenities are top notch, with both indoor and outdoor pools. Location is awesome. Short walk to Nishiki market area. Walkable to Gion as well. Access via subway is easy and not too far, but will be a bit troublesome if it rains. Find subway exit 3 which is a handicap lift near Hotel Okura side for easier access with luggage. Short walk to convenience stores and food options.

This Ritz-Carlton location sitting on Kamogawa and Hagashiyama mountains, is one of the best locations to stay in Kyoto. The architecture is gorgeous on every level as you enter the hotel. You feel transported to a particular place that you will never forget. In addition, the quality of service the Ladies and Gentlemen provides goes above and beyond any other Ritz-Carlton location. Staying at the Kamogawa Executive Suite was an unforgettable experience. Approximately 1350 sq. ft., the suite provides luxury accommodations that exceed the highest expectations of any guest. The bathroom is gorgeous, especially the bathtub, where the wall and bathtub are decorated with sakura flowers. The bed is comfortable, and the living room is quite spacious. One thing I would have loved to see inside this room is a Genkan to place shoes as you enter the suite. Preserving the floor and rug is necessary and educates foreign guests about the importance of doing this. Another aspect that I loved about this place was Mizuki. Every morning I visited it for a Japanese-style breakfast, and it was a fantastic experience. In addition, I went to one of their sushi demonstrations and felt that I had a lifetime supply of sushi. Every bite was delicious, and the chef went above and beyond to make every guest feel special. Please make reservations for kaiseki, tempura, teppanyaki, and of course, sushi during your stay in advance. The spa is also a must if you are staying in this location. It is one of my most relaxing experiences, and the facilities are excellent. As you enter the spa, all the details regarding the walk to the counter or attendant, the changing room, and the pool area are planned quite well, so the guest can feel extra special and disconnected from reality. Finally, I must recognize the Ladies and Gentlemen's hard work and dedication at the Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto. Thank Ana and Naoto, for your friendly welcome to the hotel and making things possible during my stay. Chef Tomohiro Goda and his team provided an experience I will never forget at Mizuki. Naoki was friendly and helpful as I researched information. Pablo and Thain were attentive to my needs as I left the hotel and provided a great experience as I checked out. Special thanks to Carlos for leading such a fantastic Ritz-Carlton property in Japan and consideration prior to my stay. This is one of the top Ritz-Carlton properties I have stayed in, out of 25 Ritz-Carlton. I will cherish all the memories that I gained from this place and will make sure to come back in the future.

I was able to use it on a holiday alone. Because it was a land that I spent four years at a university in Kyoto, there was a land insight and this location was very convenient. However, from people who don't know much about Kyoto, you may feel a little far from downtown Kawaramachi. I walked in the morning 々 I had a morning at the bakery in the hall and wandered around Kawaramachi. The hotel lobby is also nice and smelly. I also use the hotel in Osaka Honmachi in the series, but the lobby and appearance are preferred here. I liked the public bath quite a bit. I was impressed by the quiet and Kyoto atmosphere and the size. Since the view from the room is zero, I can't open the window and feel free. So I thought it would be nice to have a little more price.

Very comfortable beds & futon and enough room in the bedrooms, only negative was the luminous fire exit sign which was so bright when trying to sleep in the night and lots of dust under the beds. Location was lovely and convenient. It’s opposite Ippodo Tea shop which helps to locate the property on this quiet street. The norme hanging in front of the door says “Tsumugi” so we initially weren’t sure we were at the right place. I should’ve checked my emails to confirm we’d arrive directly at the property rather than pick up the key code from the desk at Kyoto station (for some reason I thought the reception was at the property! my mistake!) so we had to wait for someone to cycle over from the station, difficult waiting in the summer heat but also appreciated him peddling there in a hurry! There were only 3 sets of bowls and chopsticks and could have done with a toaster and tea towel for drying dishes as there is no draining rack but otherwise the kitchen was fine for a short stay. It would also be good to have some way of hanging laundry other than the few hangers which I could hook on to the door frames. Despite these little things I would probably stay here again as it was nice and quiet, comfortable, clean, convenient and nice design aesthetics.

Room facilities are in Nordic minimalist style and newly renovated. The key is that the room is not square. The bed is facing the bathroom, and the TV is on the left side of the bathroom door. You can't watch it directly. It feels weird. There is a temple on the inner side, guarding a group of cemeteries. If you are concerned, please avoid it. For breakfast, you can choose one of the five baked rice dishes, and the others are salad, soup, yogurt and beverage coffee. If you stay for several days, it is not recommended to include breakfast. It would be too monotonous to have the same breakfast every day.

The location is near the station and the Asahikawa is close and no problem. The drinker street is near the suburbs, so it is a very good location for banquet. However, I think the urinary of this inn is good taste of the meal. Anyway, it is good. And the best is rice. The feeling of a little bit of a swell is great. Is it the atmosphere of the meal? It is a pity that it is narrow and the outside is not looking out. The rooms are one view now, but they feel like they are all over. The bath is a bit small, but it may be good to have a large bath.

Hotel is situated in a good location. Just opposite of Kyoto station. I recommend to go there via the station’s main exit, rather than the underground exit. The exit via underground is A5, but can be difficult to locate for the first time. Amenities are basic, nothing fancy or extra. It’s a self check in/out hotel, although they do have staff on call if needed. The doors are all electronic using a passcode, so might be a bit of a challenge for elderly people to operate if not used to. Overall, a very nice hotel. Highly recommend if you need to get around in Kyoto using the public transport.

Just that most things are communal and you have wait for your turn to shower and finish by 11.35. It's quiet and easy to spend because it's one station from Kyoto Station. The location is also near the station, and it's easy to understand that you can reach it in just a few minutes from the station. We stayed for 5 nights at Richmond Premier Kyoto Shijo. The hotel has a clean zen-like modern look. Location-wise, it is at the quieter side of Shijo, the east side, which is closer to the Hankyu Karasuma station. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk to Shijo central where Daimaru is- this may or may not appeal to you. Some pros and cons: Pros- Affordable room rates Big rooms Complimentary drinks (not alcoholic) for guests from 1-8pm everyday at the breakfast area. Laundromat with 6 washer-dryer machines Self serve amenities at the elevator at night Helpful hotel staff Cons- Aircon/heater doesn’t balance right between heating and cooling resulting in uncomfortable, dry, cold temperatures at times Walls are a little thinner so a noisy neighbor above or next room can be heard Overall, we had a good stay.

We stayed for 13 days and were impressed with the hotelʻs determination to provide us with clean rooms, towels and other items. This hotelʻs location at Shijo/Karasuma made it easy to get to train stations, bus and the subway. There were also many excellent restaurants and shopping possibilities. One of the features we appreciated a lot was the laundry. We also appreciated that it was quiet.. didnʻt even hear people in the halls or doors close. Having lived in Kyoto for a long time, this was our first time to stay in a hotel and would recommend it for sure.

This is a modern minimalistic boutique hotel that we enjoyed! The design of the hotel has zen elements (the creative zen garden layed vertically against the wall) that I really loved. The room itself is more of a wooden theme that is cozy and relatively spacious for Japanese hotel standard. There is sufficient space to lay the luggages and also to sit (a luxury in most Japanese hotels). However, the hotel is slightly further from kyoto station and require some walking (which is inconvenient for lugging the luggages as the pavement is bumpy). Also the hotel is situated beside a road and near a hotel, sometimes at night we could hear the ambulance sirens which may be a problem for light sleepers. However, really enjoyed the hotel's own bath house which looks very new and clean. It is equipped with dyson hair dryers and you can have free ice cream popsicles after your bath! A great way to end a tiring day full of walking in Kyoto :)

It arrived around 21 o'clock with a plan that can be in from 18:00, and it was in a state that it was not connected unless it called a lot by the phone to the front desk. When I finally thought I was connected, it took a while to confirm the reservation and the waiting time at the entrance was long, so check-in was not smooth. It was the beginning of the year, so I might have been busy, but I wanted you to improve a little more. The room is neither good nor bad. The bath was a bit small for two people to enter. It is reasonable for the price. The ventilation in the bathroom was not stopped, and it was cold, so I got my throat hurt because the air conditioner was fully operational. My friend and I arrived at the hotel early in the morning. The staff was nice and kept our luggage for us so that we could go out and explore the beautiful city of Kyoto. First impression, the exterior looks very Kyoto-esque, and the interior has a little hint that the brand is from Thailand. We got a room on the basement floor, which at first felt a little weird, but it was nice, clean, and had a window that allowed us to see the sky and get some fresh air. There was no moldy smell at all, which was a relief. Also, we spent most of the day outside anyway. Room is as cozy as the name suggests in the booking and it is super clean. The size is standard for Japan, with a smart design that includes normal-sized luggage storage under the bed. Bed is soft and the linens are clean. Only weird thing at first was that the sink is separate from the bathroom. But on second thought, maybe that's a good thing; one person can take a shower while another can brush their teeth. The shower room has a standing shower with great pressure and temperature control, but no bathtub. The amenities smell good, and the towels are good quality. Surprise! The free WiFi internet is super fast. I was able to back up 100 photos and 10 videos with no problem. Location: The hotel is in the middle of two underground train stations, so you can get in and out easily by walking for 3-4 minutes. However, for the first day, especially when you have a lot of luggage or big oversize luggage, and if you don't want to go around crossing the street looking for escalators or elevators, it's better to take a taxi. The hotel and Kyoto station are not too far apart at all. I know that taxi rides in Japan are rumored to be expensive, but it's up to you if you want to save your bag or your back. After you are free from your luggage, you can even walk 5-8 minutes to the shopping street or even 20-30 minutes to the famous Kiyomizu-dera Temple, which we did after recovering from 10 hours of sitting at the airport and on the flight. Since Kyoto has a lot to explore and there is great food out there, even food from combini Family Mart and 7-Eleven nearby, we did not try the room service or restaurant at the hotel. Sorry about that. In conclusion, this is a brand new, renovated hotel that is clean and has a nice location. I will revisit and recommend it to my family, friends, and favorite colleagues.

It was a comfortable room with simple and necessary things. The roll curtain and bed cover in the room are different for each room, so I look forward to what room it will be every time. Amenities are in the lobby so it is a style to bring what you need. There is no bathtub and only shower. The coffee in the lobby is free at your favorite timing. If you are in a room near the JR track, it is far from the elevator to the room. Even if I walked normally, I felt tired feet walking on the sandy beach. We chose this ryokan because of the affordable price and location. When we arrived, our bags had been placed in our room (we'd sent them from our previous hotel via the takkyubin service), which was a nice touch. The room felt very small for the two of us. There was basically just enough floor space for our two futons laid out right next to each other. However, there is a large closet where they normally store the futons that we were able to use to store our luggage and other items when we rolled out the futons. The futons were very thin; I felt like I was pretty much just sleeping on the floor and it was rather uncomfortable. We got one of the private rooms so we would have our own bathroom but again, the bathroom was very small. Of course, we didn't spend a ton of time in the room anyway as we were out and about most of the time so the small space was not a dramatic downside. The neighborhood was quiet, which we liked, and the staff were very friendly. We had the western-style breakfast a couple mornings and it was quite good! All in all, it is an affordable stay in Kyoto, but I can't say that it is the most comfortable option. I would also warn that if you are looking specifically for a great ryokan experience and not just for a place to crash, this might not be the type of place you're looking for.

The service was really nice and supporting. When we wanted to check-in, they noticed we are foreigners so they immediately ask the English speaker co-worker to help us so we had no troubles during stay. Location is really convenient, near the Nishiki Market and train station.

The room is relatively large, but it is too dark in the room, and the windows are just decorations, which are useless at all. Very quiet, not noisy at all, slept well, the bathroom is very comfortable to take a shower, but the automatic flushing of the toilet is too loud. There are many foreigners. The hotel is very stingy, you can only go to the front desk to get 2 coffee capsules every day, and don't give more. Be sure to book a room in advance. If you need to stay temporarily, the price will be outrageous. If you need to stay temporarily, it is best to change to another hotel.

It is located at the entrance of Buddhist temple street for about 4 minutes walk from Shijo Kawaramachi. In the cheap version of the Washington Hotel, there is no public bathhouse that cuts the service to the edge and is popular in business hotels. The room size, facilities, etc. are standard for business hotels. Bedding, toothbrushes and razors are received at the front desk. However, the quality of razors was bad and the skin was cut. It is a pity that the lighting in the room is white fluorescent color and it is cold 々 impression. This wants to improve. Check out only puts the card into the machine. Not long after the opening, the building is beautiful overall. However, I think the hair remains on the bus and the cleaning is one now. Breakfast with free is a minimum set of several kinds of warm bread and cup soup, coffee and juice. Coffee had a cup service that could be drunk in the room. Two people lived in a whole Japanese-style villa ～ The room was very clean and beautiful. There were bungalows and tatami style rooms. The bathroom also had a super-class automatic bathtub. There was a comment on Expedia that the general hotel photos look better than the room, but here is the opposite. I agree too much that the actual room is much better than the photo ～, but pay attention to the checkin time to make an appointment with the store, that is, the store will send an email after placing the order. The young lady who came to pick us up checkin was very cute. It was a Chinese lady who was very good in Japanese and English. ～ It felt so good. Earlier this month, I stayed at Gion Misen and loved the experience. There are many new hotels in the city but Gion Misen stands out and exceeded expectations. The location is superb, on quiet and historic Shimnomzen Street, nestled among beautifully preserved wooden machiya townhouses, antique shops, galleries, and small restaurants. The staff is kind and helpful. The included breakfast was ample and delicious, including good coffee! The beautifully designed, contemporary Japanese rooms have comfortable beds, plenty of electrical outlets and good lighting. Gion Misen is ideally situated for excursions to the beautiful surrounding neighborhoods and the heart of downtown Kyoto on foot and by short taxi rides to all corners of this magnificent city. Thank you for making me feel so welcome.

Quietly standing in the arms of Bilao Mountain, the Yamano Food Inn has a Kyoto Station pick-up service (about 30 minutes drive) on arrival. The hotel is only 10 minutes drive from Yankee Temple. Self check-in according to email messages, there is no front desk clerk. The room is large, comfortable and has travel information. But there is no microwave washing machine and other convenient configuration for guests.
