By far the best hotel at Koh Samui. It’s the 4th time we stay here. We had to skip twice because of Covid, but they used their time well: the whole resort got a makeover, and it’s even more beautifull then is already was. But the hospitality didn’t change, it’s still very good. Main reason is the lovely host Tan, she is the best and makes our stay even better that possible. We’ve recommended this resort to our friends and they will visit Baan Samui Resort next July aswell. I’m sure they will enjoy it as much as we do, also due to the lovely miss Tan.

We spent our family holiday in Long Beach Lodge in a bungalow directly on the beach. The bungalow was equipped with everything as described and was cleaned daily. We think breakfast was a great idea because you don't have to run to the buffet constantly. And just the location of the accommodation is worth a stay with this direct beach access. We have a very special place to emphasize, but the friendliness of the staff! Our holiday took place precisely over the days when the governments worldwide adopted a large stop for travel due to the Corona virus. When we finally stood before our flight, it was just a few hours before the flight that we needed a medical certificate. In this hurry, the incredibly helpful lady of the reception brought us to the nearest hospital, waiting for us and driving us back to the hotel. She was spontaneously so helpful and helped us in this situation immediately. Therefore, I can only recommend this accommodation and would like to come back at any time!

It can be said to be very pleasant to stay here, the price is not expensive, but the environment is really great, Living in a place less than twenty meters from the sea, it is not too convenient to go to the sea to swim. A few meters out of the room is the breakfast restaurant. Although the breakfast is not rich, the food is good. The entire hotel is full of trees and vegetation. It is very comfortable to walk on the road. awesome! The main entrance of the hotel is Chaweng Street, all kinds of restaurants, 711, the whole family, drug stores, spas, car rental shops, travel agencies are everywhere, opposite the hotel is the largest shopping mall in Koh Samui, you can find everything you need inside. There are night markets on both sides of the mall in the evening, various snacks, drinks and drinks, as well as singers and hot dance performances. Some singers have great singing and singing skills, good sound level, and a group of boys who are particularly passionate about dancing. Behind the hotel is the beach. There are various beach restaurants and bars at 500 meters on the left and right. It is very lively at night and there are many shows, especially the fireworks show is very exciting. You can lay over two hundred baht for a few bottles of beer or drink Seeing it in the middle of the night on a deck chair, watching the show drinking the sea breeze and drinking beer, there is nothing more comfortable than this. It is easy to think of sea snorkeling or other day trips. Many travel agencies on the street provide reservations, including hotels. Of course, you can also book through Ctrip Flying Pig. The above are the advantages. Now let ’s talk about the disadvantages. The first is that the bath water in the room is suddenly cold and hot, which is a bit inconvenient every time you take a bath. Two or three hundred garden villas are good. There is no small bed or bathtub in the garden villa room. I always feel a little dissatisfied, and the waiter cleans the room. If not, she is reluctant to change to a new soap, only changed it every six days. Overall, the flaws are not concealed, and I am very satisfied with the hotel I stayed in this time. I plan to stay here again next time.

We have stayed at Chaba Samui about 8 times. The resort was sold in December 2022 and I'm not sure if its the same . Completely new staff exept JOB who we have know for years and him with his new colleagues Kay and Pancake, looked after us well at the pool / beach. There is no longer a Happy Hour which is disappointing. I had a really nice welcome with a birthday cake but that was our only positive experience with reception. No one took much notice of you and when we checked out we were shocked to be presented with our bill on a calculator! No breakdown of daily charges , no question of did you enjoy your stay and no interest if we had transport. Staff at the this resort were our friends and you were treated like family but no more (apart from the afternoon beach staff and the breakfast guy who is married to Nadia (who used to work there)) Seen the new owner many times but he does not interact with any of his customers. I will probably still go back as we love the hotel and the area, hopefully the other staff will improve over time. Job, Kay and Pancake are great and deserve all the praise.

I have never experienced such heart welcoming hostesses like tik and rut that work at the reception, they helped us with everything we needed and BEYOND, gave us also free complimentary Thai boxing game tickets , booked our tickets for the next trip & checked us in. They gave us the earliest check in time at 10 which most hotels don’t do, they are really the best and I wish for them to give everyone else the same hospitality, we will never forget how amazing and welcoming they were during our whole stay. The hotel is very aesthetically pleasing & the pools are very spacious and not dirty at all , there’s a dj that played really nice ambient house lounge music and also the lounges by the pool which is very well maintained , they are very fast with providing any information & request that you need , the waiters by the pool are very vigilant and quick to see that you may need them & they are very quick with their service. It’s in the center and heart of Chaweng but you won’t hear any loud music coming from the main walking street.

This is my 4th visit and this is still a top notch place to stay in Chaweng. Same friendly staff and chilled vibe, with a location that sits just on the edge of the busy part of Chaweng township but also enough out of it to not be caught up in the hubbub. It has great bungalows and offers access to the best part of Chaweng beach. Breakfast is varied (the Thai food is delicious) and should suit most tastes. Has definitely set a high standard for accommodation in samui. If I had to find something that could be improved I would say it's time for a refresh of the basics like pillows, towels, sheets etc. They are all OK and it shouldn't stop you staying here but could do with an update. The channel selection on the TV has also been minimised over the various visits I've been so there is virtually no English TV, which is no that big of a deal. I also noticed my linen wasnt changed the whole time (12 days) I was there - it could have been a mistake and I probably should have mentioned it. I would still choose to stay here.

The large hotel has modern and very clean rooms and a very good room service. The TV in my room did not work. The swimming pool is very nice but unfortunately there is no gym available. You can rent a motorbike there for 300 baht per day (quite expensive) but unfortunately the staff there is not easy to reach when you wanna return the bike. You can park the bike at the nearby Central shopping mall which is quite complicated because the parking space is very narrow. All in all I would recommend the hotel!

Honestly my stay wasn't up to the mark at all considering what others have reviewed on trip advisor, they didn't have bell boys to take luggage, and the way to your room is a rocky surface make sure u don't have heavy luggage if ur planning to book here cause they expect us to carry all the luggage you have to your room, the whole resort felt understaffed as they only do cleaning ever 2 days which was weird , the restaurant is only good for Italian food and is a bad option for vegetarians. Now to the rooms, we booked the most premium room they had and i shall upload some images which might help you understand what it looks like. There won't be hot water if ur planning to have a hot comforting shower and also the shower is 6ft soo If your plus 6 ft you won't be able to have a peaceful shower also as u will have to bend to bathe with cold water. The rooms in general are dark and timid if you choose to have some privacy, as they have 2 huge clear glass door / window up front which accounts for 90% of the rooms light but people walking pass can easily see and look at your which was another weird thing to have if your planning to have a peaceful stay here, the wash basin is also placed outside in your room and not in the washroom for some reason💀 the keys they give you to your room are also the most weird way to entering a room in 2022 as it's a key which goes 4 ways in but only opens one way it's frustrating way to enter your room. The only reason to choose this hotel is to be near central Samui and a beach front, the pool is also ideal for kids only as one stroke and i was at the end of the pool 😂. I hope this helps certain travellers.

Mid March, strong winds, strong waves, red flag, can’t swim on Chaweng beach. Last year September Chaweng beach water was so calm and flat, so beautiful, picture perfect, best beach in Koh Samui, but in March, not swimmable. But we found no wind, no waves at Choengmon beach! Ozo, excellent breakfast, nice pool, right on beach. Good sunbeds, clean. if you can get one. There is Ozo rule: one towel per person, no saving sunbed, no outside food or drink. We were shocked by these rules. Good for management, but for guests, not feel so good. We never stayed in a hotel in Thailand with such rules. The biggest negative is it is very noisy at night, up to 3 am, many guest noises and can hear next door toilet flushes, and strange scuffling sound at night behind the walls. The bed is very comfortable but we could not sleep because of the sounds. Finally, the room is just too small, for two people. Balcony so small. We stayed one week, then moved to another hotel in Choengmon beach. We will not stay here again. Didn’t have any memorable experience with the staff. The staff were just staff, not friendly, no smiles. Disappointed.

I nearly changed my holiday because of the negative reviews that i read here, however i was so pleased i didn't and went with my gut instinct. I have just returned from the most wonderful relaxing holiday at the Mai Samui beach resort. The hotel has been built in a traditional Thai style, on a quiet peninsular of Samui. So if you are looking for a glossy high rise concrete soulless block with entertainment and plenty of bars surrounding you, then this is not the place for you. There are a few local restaurants and a coffee shop only a few minutes walk away. With lively Bophut, with the Fisherman's market and Nathon are only a short taxi ride away (or free bus from hotel every day). The hotel has a variety of rooms to stay in, a couple of restaurants and a great beach bar with an extensive cocktail menu. The staff are all amazing, friendly and helpful. The hotel is currently having a few renovations but so has everyone else. Hotels and bars across the world have all suffered being locked down for several years due to Covid 19, and have only just re-opened, so yes they all need to do a bit of catch up. The renovations did not impact us in any way, and did not spoil our holiday one bit. I chose not to do all inclusive and opted for breakfast only. There was plenty of choice every morning. The egg chef was always busy with everyone's individual orders. One very small negative is the lack gluten free options or milk alternatives, but we worked around it. The beach is not your usual tropical lounging sandy spot. This is a very shallow tidal bay with some rocks and corals. It is great for a low tide walk, but not swimming. To make up for this the hotel has a couple of large well thought out swimming pools. and there is a raised sandy area to the front of the beach with plenty of sunbeds and chairs to lounge on. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel if you prefer a quite resort but with easy access to livelier towns. If i have the chance i would definitely come back again. Thank you everyone at Mai Samui for a wonderful stay.

It's not often I leave bad reviews, in fact this is the only time but I feel it's warranted. We booked the 1 bedroom villas on the beachside, once we caught our navigo there, none of us knew where the hell to go, this includes the navigo driver who telephoned the number on our itinerary and got no one at all. It was only by chance I walked into an office with no one manning it that I found someone in a back room to check me in. The reception phone to call someone is static and cannot make sense of anyone talking on the other end once they finally pick up. Once we were into the villa, that's when most of the problems started. It certainly isn't 4 star as it advertises itself. The positives first were the rooms were big, the pool was private and the wifi worked well. There's also a decent coffee shop just down the road. Now unfortunately onto the negatives * very overpriced for what you get * the beach is covered up by trees so no sea view * once at the beach, it's covered in litter and not clean * the shower goes hot-cold-warm then stays cold * the jacuzzi was dirty and the water that came out of that was brown and horrible * the wood skirting needs to be replaced as the water has damaged them over time * the bedside lamps are red which makes the room feel like a ******* (they are also chipped/broken) * the 3 tvs in the place were not working and once I tried to tune back in, still nothing. On top of this, the DVD player also wouldn't stay on * the frypan and egg flip had MOULD on them when I went to use for breakfast, then when I returned to the office to get replaced, I was told I would get a new one later that day, 3 days later on departure and no clean frypan. * constant leaves in the pool from the surrounding trees Overall I wouldn't recommend this place to stay at as its way too overpriced for what you actually get.

We stumbled upon this place when we weren’t really sure where we were headed next and we couldn’t have been more thrilled! There was one room available for, unfortunately, only one night. I’m not surprised it’s fully booked. The staff are very friendly, the place is clean and adorable! A few steps to the beach with loungers and tables for use. It is the extra touches that make it, shower cap, cotton buds and insect repellent in the bathroom, water and a fully functioning fridge (with ice box and ice tray) in the bedroom. This really has been amazing to stay at. It was also incredibly priced at £13 a night!

I booked the airport transfer before departure, and sent a big car to pick it up as soon as I left the airport. The hotel is very close to the airport, but the location is a bit away from the city. It is very convenient to directly ask the counter to help rent a car. We went That day, I just ran into the firsherman night market on Friday, not far from the hotel. The room is very big, and the toilet is bigger than the sleeping place, but the swimming pool inside the house is very small, so we all go to the big pool at the end to play in the water, and there is a beach at the back. It is also great to stroll around on the beach. The hotel staff is very kind, and breakfast will be delivered to the room. Our breakfasts are different for the two days, so I won’t get tired of it at all. It’s great.

Advantages: French pastoral decoration style deep my heart The room facing the sea Pull the door directly to the sea The kind of unsatisfactory! The hotel waiter is also very enthusiastic. Especially recommend his restaurant. The chef is afraid that it will not be Michelin level. Even if you don't go out to the hotel, you won't be tired. Haha, and the toiletries in his home taste very advanced. Porridge, because we booked a suite more spacious when booking. Waiting for 2 adults and 1 child to stay, they put an extra 1.2 single bed next to the big bed. If it is a normal room, he said that it is not good for an extra bed. Disadvantages: The drinking water provided by the hotel has a salty smell. It is not used to drinking. It is all 711 to buy water. The hotel has no parking lot. It is not good to park.

We stayed 6 nights here The location was good shops and Resturants near by. The Resort is very large and well spread out and grounds are looked after, some of the staff are welcoming to you others are not. The room was fine good space and a outside bath and porch area bathroon was open and ok. There staff at the reception were great helpfull and i did not get a name but a young man who went out of his way for guest and always had a smile. My let downs we arrived at the pool area twice tom find there were no towels so you would have to go up to bar area and ask straight away someone was sent to get more. Breakfast most morning as you went to get food there was none again you would have to ask this happened most mornings even the bread baskets run out. as the breakfast areas were hot in morning again we would have to ask for fans to be turned on to move the air around just small things but frustinging at same time. Very very nice staff, but strange audience (tourists). You can tell the Thais try not to get infected by the bad vibes of the tourists. Great breakfast, huge facility. Got lost the first night and couldn't find my room because the room numbering was in Thai only. The hotel offers a lot of leisure activities. I'm a solo traveler and felt very comfortable with the Thais. But as soon as a run-of-the-mill tourist came, you could tell how nervous the employees were, since almost all the guests were just nagging. So I was happy to feel good vibes somewhere else after eight nights. And that's what Thailand is all about. In short: the Thais don't deserve these snooty tourists.

Fantastic service and friendly smiles from everyone including Management, Reception, Restaurant staff, Spa staff, Road Crossing staff, Maintenance and Housekeeping. Special mentions go to the lovely hosts Wee and Keng who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and helped us with anything we needed to know. Also Noung who we nicknamed ”the hardest working man in Thailand”. He never stopped as he worked tirelessly in Amaya Restaurant and around the hotel grounds. I don’t often write reviews, but always use them to make choices when looking to stay here. I booked this hotel to stay at for my son’s 10th birthday in January 2024. The room I booked was no refundable, but having read reviews I was happy to take the risk. 2 hours before we were due to travel there we received an email to say that their pool was closed due to unplanned renovations. Let’s be honest, this is the hotels only real selling point and the whole reason I booked it in the first place. Disappointed, we had no choice but to travel to the hotel to discuss things with their team in person. Arriving at the hotel it was a mess, almost looked derelict. Whoever took their hotel photos needs a pay rise, put it that way. It was clear that the work wasn’t unplanned, and in fact had been going on for some time. Letting guests know on the day they travel is obviously a ploy to prevent confrontation. We were told that we had the use of a pool at their sister hotel, 15 minutes away by shuttle. This runs every 2/3 hours. Not the fairy tail birthday I had in mind for my son if I’m honest. To compound things, the hotel refused to refund me my money and I had to pay again to stay at a hotel that was able to provide the facilities it promised. Looking back at the hotel, there were clear signs. They haven’t had a positive review since 2021, that tells its own story. If you are thinking of staying here, please don’t. You will end up disappointed as we were

I ate here for Christmas dinner. They had a standard and specials menu. Apero was an excellent mojito, then I started with a caesar salad which was exceptional, just perfect. Dressing was quality and bacon was just crispy enough. I had a rack of lamb with olive crust dressing which was cooked to perfection. And then creme brûlée lemongrass which was a lovely change. All in all a wonderful dining experience, my initial disappointment with no steaks available despite the website and several photos was quickly forgotten. Thanks to the lovely staff and the great wine pairing recommendations.

I read many reviews about this resort and studied the Mantra Samui website, but never learned until after I booked (4 nights stay) my room that they had cancelled , during Covid, the regular shuttle that took guests down the hill to Fisherman Villa. I learned this because I called the hotel before my trip to ask some questions and also ask how to reserve a place on their shuttle. The resort does have one auto/driver that will drive you down to the bottom of the hill if it is there, and if it is not picking up someone at the airport. The shuttle delivers you directly to the bottom of the hill, is pretty much is just a local road. Then you can wave down a taxi and negotiate the price. Some fun! The Mantra Sumai should update their website to say the regular shuttle has been cancelled, and replaced by their maybe available one car. Continuing my story... We booked a massage at another hotel that is about 20 minutes away, and gave ourselves one hour to get there. So the night before we reserved to get the ride down to the bottom of the hill for the next day afternoon. When we went to reception, we were informed there was an accident, which was a flat tire, and the tire 'might' be fixed in half an hour and then another 20 minutes to get back to the Mantra. They apparently felt no responsibility to contact us. Just wait for the guests to show up and then tell them. They felt no responsibility to call the driver for any update. They then offered to call a taxi, but that would take about 20 minutes to arrive. Also when you call a taxi there is no opportunity for negotiation. My hour was dwindling. Well 20 is better than maybe 30 + 20 minutes. So they called the taxi. Luckily the Mantra driver showed up after 15 minutes, and the taxi was cancelled. My conclusion, after all the interfaces with reception, is they have a poor sense of responsibility and lacking the ability for logical thinking to provide a good guest experience. There are other examples beyond the above. Our suite room was in good condition, and everything functioning. Well, except the phone did not work, but I did not need that. The suite has a king size bed and a separate built in bed in the back of the living room. OK, so 4 people can stay. But the flaw in the suites is there is only a 2 person love seat to sit on. There is no chair, and no desk. It is no fun to use your laptop when the coffee table level is below your knees. A simple 4 leg table for a desk, and a simple chair would be nice, and not cost very much. They do have an on-site co-work room somewhere, but I did not use it. I think it is an extra cost and I did not have that much work to do anyway. The highlight of the Mantra Samui was the included breakfast. There are many cooked to order choices plus a buffet of juices, fruits, cereals, yogurt, pastries, and several breads you can toast yourself. We tried every item on the breakfast menu and all were nicely done and tasty. Very good coffee and tea made to order i

I stayed at the Waterfront Boutique Hotel for two weeks and found a diamond of a place that has a calm relaxing vibe- The room was basic however, a good size with a comfy bed, air con, fan, small bar fridge and walk in open shower. The room faced the ocean, and the garden was lined with hedges of beautiful red ixora flowers and other colourful potted plants. There were two large nut trees facing the beach that provided deep shade and sun lounges were provided. It was a great spot to read , catch the sea breeze that comes through every 10 mins and have an afternoon snooze- The pool overlooks the Gulf of Thailand and you can see other islands, speed boats, yachts, sea eagles, herons, swallows while sipping a cocktail, smoothie or beer in the pool or at the pool bar. Watching the storms develop in the Gulf was exhilarating and feeling the wind followed by rain to cool the landscape- Yoga classes were being offered on the lawn three times a week - The night markets are only a 7 min walk up the road and good for buying gifts along with many amazing restaurants serving very tasty food- So yes, if you like a friendly, quiet, calm relaxing place to stay, love to swim, look at the sea, love nature and like value for money - this is the place for you-

Maryoo was recommended by friends, we were told it wasn't the newest place in Koh nor is it by far the worst. We were very happy and comfortable with Maryoo and the staff. Well organised and great value for the price. You cannot compare this place to other hotels we have stayed at in Koh, the people are amazing and will do anything for you. The meals are generous and cooked by one of the best chefs on the island! We are looking forward to coming back again this year. Rooms are a good size with kitchenette and cleaned daily, beds are big and comfy, pool is a good size. The hotel is about 3 kl ms from Chaweng beach center and easy to get to.

The hotel is not far from Chaweng Beach. The environment is good at night. You can rent a motorcycle when you go out. There are supermarkets and restaurants nearby. It is very convenient. Overall, there is no elevator. When I stayed, I was in the penultimate room and climbed the stairs. Climb to doubtful life, if you play at the attraction for a day, going back to the room is really a test of physical strength.

On arrival we were given cold drinks reception very small. Had to wait for room to be ready. Our room was on third floor over looking the pool. Room a good size and bathroom good size and very clean. The resort very cold and no Thai character. Was like a resort in the Mediterranean to much concrete and alley ways. Also a lot of waisted space. Beach kept very clean and crystal clear water. Sun beds hard to get some days. Breakfast reasonable and the breakfast lay out a bit strange. Stayed seven days and the WI-FI NOT THE BEST KEPTED BREAKING DOWN. One girl on reception had good English SEEMED TO DO MOST OF THE WORK. The man on the reception also very good when there. One girl on reception could not understand English very well and became a little aggressive. The resort is at the far end of beach and a Twenty minute walk to Samui central. Strange set up with beach towels, had to return to reception to get clean beach towels and leave old ones. Over all Ok but not our type of resort.

We liked our stay in this place very much! The hotel is right on the beach, very green terrotorry, small bungallows surrounded by palms and greenery, 20 m to the beach from our bungalow. The sea and the beach very good, better than other hotels nearby. The staff was always friendly and helpfull. Breakfasts were good, the only thing I missed is cheese abscence, everything else were very good and delicious. There is a beach bar in a hotel, possible to order drinks and coctails, they offered different promotions and happy hours every day.

The hotel was very comfortable and the hotel was very comfortable. We chose the capsule because we only passed through there to sleep, but the villas looked very beautiful. The very beautiful pool also, in the middle of all the villas. In the neighborhood there is not just a little ambience, it is to be relaxed. The breakfast is in front of the hotel and has 7 different varieties, it is not a buffet. We broke our bag and the owner helped us fix it. ¡Very recommendable!
