Hotels near Tandoor, Almaty

On a holiday in Kazakhstan for 15 days, my wife and I stayed at this hotel on 3 different occasions and have returned with mixed reactions - 1) 2 Nights on the first leg of our trip - Though the hotel and room looked a little rundown requiring refurbishment, it was a comfortable stay and service though, very stiff and formal, was acceptable. Breakfast - Very good; Communication - Poor due to most staff members being unable to communicate in English. 2) 1 Night on the second leg - Room very good. Service - Stiff but again acceptable. Breakfast again very good and communication poor. BUT the worst part was that the integrity of house keeping and reception staff was suspicious. While checking out after our first stay, my wife had left behind a set of clothes in the wardrobe. This came to realization, after reaching our next destination and I immediately called up the hotel and informed them. The lady assured that she would check and ring back, which she never did. When we checked-in around 5 days later, I was told that house-keeping had reported that nothing was left behind. My wife was firm and we asked to speak to a senior manager or the GM. It was then that we were asked to please wait for a recheck once again. One hour later, I received a call in my room, requesting me to collect the dress from the reception, without the courtesy of having it sent up to our room. 3) 1 Night on the last leg, before taking our flight back home. Room - Small and in very poor condition with walls having peeling wall paper and stains, Shower room, very small restricting mobility for me at 184cms height. I requested if the room could be changed but was answered with a curt - SORRY. OVERALL - This hotel definitely needs to upgrade it's service which is the FIRST ESSENTIAL in the hospitality business. A mechanical smile and words of welcome are not enough to convince a traveller to come back. If my bookings were not pre-confirmed, I would certainly not re-visit after our experience on the second time.

酒店看起來有點舊，房間裏的布草也是用了好久但好在乾淨。服務人員有幾個可以説英文，基本溝通沒啥問題。早餐不錯，種類豐富而且服務員更新的很快。都是麪包雞蛋類的俄羅斯類型早餐，想吃中餐的別想了。酒店周圍有很多不錯的餐廳，土耳其烤肉和格魯吉亞餐廳性價比都很高。國內普通三星標準吧，在阿拉木圖屬於性價比不錯的酒店

We had never travelled to Kazakhstan and had no idea of what to expect. The hotel was very nice and the room was clean. The bedroom was a very nice size and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom facilities were also very good. Our overall experience was positive.

The room was not cleaned; no drinking water was provided (drinking water for the next day). I have stayed in this hotel many times, and this time it feels much worse than before.

- The staff was extremely rude with negative body language, pretending to be least bothered about your concerns and comfort. They would roll eyes and shrug shoulders even if you highlight basics like no water in room, no wifi, electricity failure or room cleaning. - There was no water in bathroom (both wash basin & shower area) on day 2. We had to waste until 1pm to take shower before we could go out. And no electricity for 30 minutes. There is no power back up. - The breakfast is terrible. Its not a breakfast, its an insult to the guest. The breakfast is served in a plastic tray which needs to be picked by yourself from a counter. Breakfast includes 2-3 pieces of tiny bread & butter, 3 thin cucumber slices, 3 thin cucumber slices and butter. Cappuchino or latte is not included, you need to pay extra. - There is NO daily housekeeping. Room cleaning is done once after 3 days. So be prepared to use the same bath towels and bed linens for 3 days. (In *********** website, it states that daily cleaning is available). - Wi-Fi connectivity is poor and gets disconnected often. It is NOT suitable to work from home. ITS A HOSTEL, DISGUISED AS A HOTEL.

Good hotel, excellent location, in the city center.Not on the road that is happy, quiet and quiet, you can sleep perfectly after the road. Prices are good, especially if you book through the hotel website. I don't stop for the first time. The staff is kind, responsive, responds quickly to all requests. Good that there is a washing machine, very convenient. Breakfast is good, there is a choice and satisfactory.

Stayed here in July 2023 with family and friends. The hotel is right in the middle of Almaty and we walked everywhere, including to many amazing restaurants and bars. The property appears to be new, and may be related to the other older Kazzhol (where I have also stayed). The rooms are large, bright and light filled. The bed was extremely comfortable and I loved the availability of lots of power sockets. There is a separate area for the bags and closet, which keeps the room open. The mini-fridge was stocked and the WiFi was strong. The only gripe I have about the room is that the toilet is set up in a strange spot, right next to the bathroom sink. Else top marks for everything. Breakfast was better than most places we stayed at across Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan on our trip, with a varied selection. Laundry was quick, efficient and decently priced. There is also an ATM in the lobby for money access. Overall I liked the hotel and it was the best on the entire trip.

Stayed there for a night during my KZ trip, the hotel is located at a very comfortable location , the hotel rooms looks like more of heritage room with a few old decor plates and felt really warm, they provided with all the necessity services, and a secured cloak room was also there, I kept my luggage after checkout for almost a day and they were really helpful to store them at their place without any hassle and provided back the same in couple of minutes, They staff here speaks fluent English as well and take extra efforts to help their guest. Would definitely recommend to stay and get to know the services of the same.

This is a very old hotel. I guess it was built by the former Soviet Union. The service is good, but it's a bit old and smelly. The bed is too soft. I don't feel comfortable staying in such a hotel for one thousand yuan. However, a decent hotel in Almaty costs more than two thousand. I decisively changed to a public apartment, which costs more than four hundred yuan a night and cooks my own meals.

Everything is great, the deposit confused me, but in the end it's ok. You can leave it in foreign currency. Confused that there is no chair. If you sit, then on the bed. Inconvenient, and not very decent. Otherwise, no complaints. The administration at the reception is nice and responsive.

The hostel is in a good location. But if you think you will have a good rest there, you are mistaken. The women's room is 8 square meters, has 3 two-story beds for 5 guests and an administrator. The administrator sighed all night, walked back and forth, whispered on the phone. At five in the morning, she decided to wash the floor in the room with bleach. At 8, they met with the shift worker and loudly washed the guests' bones. I, having gone about my business, wanted to sleep for an hour during the day. No such luck. The number of administrators increased. They shouted loudly among themselves, rattled pots, laughed out loud. The mattresses on the beds were already tired after 50-60 years. The springs dug into the body. But the linen was quite clean, although with towels gray from age.

This is not a bad hotel but not quite as luxurious or high end as one might expect from the pricetag. Checkin was handled well and I get a modest upgrade for Hilton status. The best thing about the room was the view of the snowcapped mountains from two sides. Bed was comfy and towels were thick and plush. The bathroom was not great; a stand-in tub with a half door that doesn't keep the water from leaking out, and a ridiculously places handheld shower that either you had to hold or crouch down (unless you are under 5 feet tall) to use. Just unacceptable for a four star international hotel. Also the shower gel didn't work and the shampoo container was not even attached to the wall. Other things in the room didn't work quite right. Breakfast was a reasonably good buffet. The location is slightly out of the way but an easy and cheap Yandex ride or walk of 20-30 minutes to the more central sights. Overall not a bad choice (especially if you want to earn or burn Hilton points) but not sure it is worth the rates.
