Bourbon hotel Joinville has been a repeat for our team. The staff are welcoming , courteous and attentive to a business traveler needs, oh yes, service in english with a smile too. rooms are clean and spacious. fresh towels, tv, bring your own adapter for power outlets , Brazil uses Type N adapters so i do not hold this against the hotel, the room i was in had a USB outket to charge my phone that was awesome. i also got the OREI Universal 2 in 1 Plug Adapter Type N for Brazil, for my laptop. now the good part on the food. they offer breakfast, and oh my it is diverse, i personnally enjoyed the cheesy bread balls, the banana with cinnamon and cocoa, they also have scrambled eggs, and sausages , beans , soups, and more ... another neat convenient easter egg is the access from the hotel to the nearby mall where you can do some shopping and even sit in the coffee shop and eat a cake or ice cream. aaand outside the hotel you have a variety of restaurants and other shops. ok so the Chimarron Curascaria down the road will tickle your meat eating senses with its non-stop meat on the grill... brazilian style ... bring your appetite and if you wonder why the meat keeps comin, remember to flip the little coaster on the table :-) then the meat stops. please note that this is Joinville, bring an umbrella, and it is a business trip so no tourist attractions per se.

Accor hotels offer good beds. Stayed 2 nights at Mercure Prinz, located in Joinvile, Brasil. Nice and quiet location. Service is good, as well restaurant. Room ar conditioning, sub-dimensioned and poorly positioned, forcing you to fix the directional fin to avoid the cold air flow directly towards you. Black-out curtains didn't close fully, preventing the room from going dark. Living termites found in bathroom indicating that a wooden furniture may be compromised by them. Breakfast too too expensive - almost US$12/person/day, considering that my wife's and my stay costed me US$55 , wo breakfast. Mineral water expensive as well - US$1,25 per 200ml bottle. One elevator (from a set of 2) out of order for one night. Annoying! It's a worn-out hotel building that requires a renovation.

Great hotel! We slept well, took great (hot!) showers, enjoyed watching CNN International (sometimes hard to find in Brazil!) and the breakfast was great (next door at Carmenere restaurant - they give you a coupon to hand to the staff there. It is a complete Brazilian breakfast - I particularly loved the scrambled eggs and the ripe papaya!). The staff was friendly and helpful with our questions. The hotel appears to be very green; they had signs about using solar panels to heat the shower and rainwater in the toilets. I was very impressed. Great little hotel for a great price. The colors and style of the hotel are quirky, but it was clean and comfortable.

My favorite in town. They have a great staff, I reserved accommodation for my baby and they were able to provide a nice one. Breakfast is ok. Beds are great, Wifi is not the best (unfortunately common in Brazil). There isn't much to do within walking distance. Downtown and gastronomic way are a good 20 min walk from there, but if you're driving,

Great Breakfast and Great room prices. That said, Americans visiting this hotel need to check their American logic at the door. The ground floor is know as the terrace and the rooms are numbered in the 100s. The 2nd floor is called the 1st floor and the rooms are numbered in the 200s, etc... The electricity will not turn on when you enter the room. Instead, you need to take one of the two room key cards you are given and insert it in a slot just inside the door. I assume this is to save electricity. As for the room itself, it is clean, but the beds are VERY firm. The AC took a long time to cool the room. The bathroom sink is located outside the bathroom and the power was unable to accommodate my blow dryer. As I said in the title, this is a true Brazilian experience. However, it is a good value for the money.

Very clean!!! All star staff!!! Nice hardwood/tile floors. Very good continental breakfast and also the room service was tasty and quick! Security elevator was a plus. Climate control in each sleeping space made it pleasant for everyone. Valet parking made it very easy and extremely convenient. Room was clean though the TV size was too small. Wi-fi did not work properly and there wasn’t room service which is unacceptable for an international standard hotel. I tried to order lunch at 11:20 AM because I was in a hurry to the airport and they could not make it. No amenities like gym or swimming pool. Staff is realky nice though especially the waiters Willian and Bruno. Breakfast is also good.

Improve reception trainning. They create some history that I brough someone to sleep with me without any prove. What embarasing episode that i need to explain that was not true and they didn`t believe me. To get worse, the room service opened my room door without any permision when I was taking a shower and saw me naked. Nice surprise!! Never come back

In a pinch, this one works. The location is right downtown, but there's literally no view. I opened the window and I was in someone's kitchen. The room was modern enough with the exception of the bed which had springs but was still comfortable. I didn't even know those kinds of beds still existed. There are plenty of outlets for electronics, I think I counted 13. There's a desk for your computer and another for snacks and things along with a mini-fridge. Plenty of closet space. I found the sink inside the room itself instead of the bathroom to be a bit weird but the shower itself was nice with plenty of space and good pressure. I just felt like there was a lot of wasted space in the room. The breakfast is pretty standard for Brazil along with the restaurant. No complaints about either. If it weren't for the super friendly staff I would have given this a 3 star rating instead of 4. As stated, in a pinch this hotel works. We just happened to catch the perfect storm for booking a hotel that weekend while the city was packed and there weren't really any other viable options in that price range. If you are looking for a nice relaxing view along the beautiful coastlines all around Florianopolis, look elsewhere. If you aren't planning on spending much time in your room and need to be downtown, this hotel works.

The location is great. Walking distance to "CentroSul" convention center and Breakfast is simple and tasty. But the bad experience starts inside the room. It's sort of clean (if you don't overlook), there are a lot of things that seem broken and things that are really broken. It took me 3-4 minutes of running water to get some heated water. The support for soap and shampoo was broken as well as the drain. There was no toilet paper support. Although they offer rooms with 2 to 4 people, there is no door lock in the bathroom. The hotel also offers just one key card per room and that's regrettable. It has potential, but needs an restoration and several improvements.

We also stayed at Costa Norte Ingleses on Praia dos Ingleses and were very pleased with this top-rated Florianopolis bed and breakfast hotel. The grounds are beautiful, especially at night, with a deck and good restaurant right on the beach (unique in Ingleses). The rooms are very comfortable with nice ocean views available. Waves from the ocean are wonderful to listen to. Facilities include an outdoor pool, heated indoor pool, wet and dry saunas, gym, A/C, refrigerator, and a very nice breakfast can be enjoyed overlooking the beach. A nice supermarket is right across the street. Beach and seafood lovers will enjoy a stay on Brazil’s beautiful island of Florianopolis (Ilha de Santa Catarina). Florianopolis and its beautiful white sand beaches and towns are safe to visit and walk around. It is also known as a mecca for surfers with great waves. This region of Brazil enjoys some of Brazil’s highest standards of living and was settled by emigrates from Europe (i.e. Germany, Italy) appearing more European than Latin. So we could enjoy some very nice hotels during our visit, we decided to stay in the north of Florianopolis and rent a car to visit some of Florianopolis’ other beautiful beaches. Driving around this island was very doable using Google Maps. We split our visit between Praia de Jurere and Praia dos Ingleses enjoying these nice beaches while visiting other beautiful beaches by car. Our stay at Pousada dos Sonhos (see review below for reasons why) made our stay on Praia de Jurere memorable. The town of Jurere is an upscale place to stay in Florianopolis with nice long beach and restaurants (some of the top rated in Florianopolis). The beach offers calm ocean to swim in. Staying at Costa Norte Ingleses provided a very enjoyable experience at Praia dos Ingleses (again, see our review below to see why). Praia dos Ingleses is one of Florianopolis’ finest beaches offering a wide sandy beach with gentle ocean waves to swim in. Praia dos Ingleses has become rather developed with hotels and high-price restaurants. Most of the beaches on Florianopolis have restaurants and other facilities. Florianopolis’ northern beaches are more developed with calmer waves and during the high season they are more crowded party scenes (but nice). Southern beaches are less developed offering more tranquil beach experiences. If you want to visit a beautiful completely undeveloped beach, stop at the nature preserve of Mocambique – quite lovely! Beautiful Praia Mole is a must stop – one of our favorite beaches we visited in Florianopolis. Several laid-back beach restaurants are located overlooking the stunningly beautiful beach. We liked Barraco da Mole mid way on the beach with its good view of the beach, nice music, good food and drinks, and friendly staff. Several paid parking lots are available servicing Praia Mole. Praia Mole has good surfing and during peak times (Summer – December to February), Praia Mole is a party scene with beautiful tanne

We stayed at this hotel recently. The only good thing about it is the location. Curtains in rooms are plastic. We asked for 2 room apartment paid for it and first night they set up up in one bedroom with pullout in kitchen area. We complained so next two nights got what we paid for. Breakfast was mediocre. Parking free. Was hard to get to as it’s on a one wAy street. From travel agency I was charged over $2000 reals but they said it was only a little over $1000 reals. Just found Brazil to be so dishonest. Had to ask very specific questions or they would take you for a ride!

The hotel has a very good location and has a small swimming pool on the terrace, the breakfast is also very good, *The huge problem is Wi-Fi, it’s horrible here, I couldn’t work because of it. it is also very bad on the reception, it’s even hardly to send a message. *Very strict rules about check in (15:00)and out(11:00). I tried to warn about my arrival in advance, they replied that they would do everything possible, but this did not change anything. Maybe I’m not right but many hotels do their best to help early arriving visitors. * the clean of the room is good, but on the first morning the cleaning came to me at 9:30 , I asked her wait a little bit because I’ve just waked up. The next day I tried to wake up and go to the beach earlier to let the lady clean my room. I’ve returned at 14:00 and....the room was dirty. I’ve just closed the door and the cleaning came...of course I was tired and wanted to have a rest. So the room wasn’t cleaned.
