Fayе is a very nice and beautiful hotel. It is in a quiet place, in a five-minute walk there is a small beach with excellent sand. The hotel has a garden with many beautiful flowers, a pool and gazebos around it. The room has a very comfortable bed. In the evenings you can’t hear the highway or the music from the bars. And the most important thing is that this hotel has the best staff. During our stay we had a motorcycle accident. The staff did everything to help us. They went to the pharmacy, made cute surprises, prepared tasty food for us for free, organized our transfers. It was very cute! We will be happy to come here again!

The junior suite is in fact a single room with two separate beds. Generally the entire resort is clean, but some pillows and sheets have a peculiar smell, maybe due to the high humidity at Koh Chang. Note that they allow only one (1) pillow per person! The mattress is quite firm, which may be an issue for some. The fridge and AC worked like a charm. An electric water kettle was provided, but no tea. The TV is quite useless for non-Thai guests, as there seem to be only two or three English speaking channels while the others are in Thai or Chinese. The reception is pretty bad for all channels, i.e. there is quite a lot of noise. Wi-fi is virtually non-existent, except at the near vicinity of the reception, forget about internet connectivity 10 metres away from it. There was no Ethernet cable in the room too. The safe didn’t work, or the instructions were to blame. However, the staff was unable to help, but more about that later on. The toilet in the bathroom of the D2 room has a leaking plumbing connection, so the floor around it was constantly wet. Water was dripping from the ceiling into the bathtub and is quite obvious they’ve tried to repair the leak or either just replaced the ceiling panel, but that leak seems to be a longstanding issue. The breakfast service was relatively lacking in terms of a Western type breakfast, which is quite astounding, since at the time Western guests seemed to account around 90-95% of all guests. It is limited to sunny-side-up eggs shaped into stars or ovals for some reason, bananas and salads. However, the Thai-style breakfast is quite good, so if you like such a breakfast, you won’t be dissapointed. The pool is very clean, albeit relatively small. The beach nearby is nice, however the staff doesn’t seem to care much about removing garbage or debris from it. The staff just shuffles the debris around with a broom each morning. The water is very shallow and unfortunately there is quite a lot of big rocks underwater, so it is necessary to keep an eye where your swimming. The sea is clean. If not to your liking, the lovely Lonely beach is about 6 mins away by motorized transport. The staff are generally friendly, however English language is quite a barrier for most. Even quite simple conversation, such as ordering drinks and food from the menu of the restaurant can be a source of significant confusion. However, the quality of food and freshly prepared shakes is very good and the prices are reasonable. The scooters available for rent are in good condition and cost 250 baht vs 150 baht up the road. However, the demand outstrips the supply for cheaper scooters, but in the end 250 baht isn’t a steep asking price considering a two-way trip with the island’s “taxies” costs 100 baht. All in all my verdict is 2/5, since there are better choices at or near the price range of Bailan Beach Resort, with the low grade exacerbated by non-existant internet connectivity at suites and some absurd policies, such as

We stayed for a total of 5 nights in a fan bungalow, and really liked it. Bailan is a nice a quiet town, with not too much going on but we love this. There are a few nice restaurants nearby, as well as massage and laundry service. We rented a scooter at the Green Cottage, not far from the guesthouse. The best thing about our bungalow was to open the windows in the morning, and lie in bed and look out at the sea. The restaurant makes very good food, but it is in no way a professional kitchen, as they cook one dish at the time, and it takes a while for food to come out. However we do not mind the wait, because the setting is very cozy and the food is very good. We ate at the restaurant many times and tried a new dish every time, and the food was good every time. Even though there is no sandy beach, I still went swimming every day. There is a stairway from the restaurant to the sea. You can use snorkeling equipment for free. They also have some rubber bathing shoes, which I use a lot, because you have to walk on some rocks to go swimming. The guesthouse has a golden retriever who loves to swim, and I found it nice to swim with the dog. If you decide to walk or drive to one of the neighboring towns, then you will see many monkeys in the roadside😃 All in all, then we will return to this guesthouse if we come back to koh Chang.

My partner and I stayed at Elephant Bay for 10 weeks during the COVID-19 crisis and could not have chosen a better place to be "stuck". When I say "stuck" I mean stayed by choice, as even though there were many other hotels open on Koh Chang that we could have moved to for a change of scenery, none ticked all the boxes like Elephant Bay. Perfectly located at the Southern end of Koh Chang's west coast on a quiet side street away from road noise or bar music. Yet only a 2-minute drive or 15 minutes walk over the hill to the nearby town of Lonely Beach. With many other towns and beaches just a short drive away. During our stay, the owner Remy and his staff could not have done enough for us and everyone else. They really went the extra mile to make our prolonged stay comfortable and enjoyable and nothing was ever a problem to ask. We stayed in a Standard Double room for the entire duration and had no problems other than the occasional mid-storm power cut that Koh Chang sometimes faces. The room was basic inside but spacious, with a large bed and overhanging mosquito net. Decent sized private bathroom with shower and complimentary shampoo & shower gel. The best part of the room was our little verandah overlooking the resort gardens, where we could sit in the evenings and watch the sun go down with a few beers. Amongst the palm trees and flowers of the well-maintained gardens are a volleyball court, wooden viewing deck, small pier, tree swing and of course the lovely pool area with plenty of chairs and sun loungers to relax on. The resorts main building houses the reception/bar area with big screen TV and at the other end, a lounging area with board games and a pool table. So always some sort of entertainment to be had. We didn't eat at the resort very often as Koh Chang has so many amazing restaurants to sample but the times we did eat there the food was very good. Finally, our stay wouldn't have been complete without our 2 furry friends Go-Go and Charlie, the resident dogs. Both friendly little companions always see it their duty to walk you out the resort and greet you on return, mostly in the hopes of a snack. We really had an amazing few months at Elephant Bay Resort and are sure it's a place we will always fondly remember. We already plan to return to Koh Chang next year to see the island in a different light and will definitely be returning to this resort. Thank you so much. Marc & Rachel

Hotel is in good location. It's right by the water and there's mountain view out of balcony. It's nice and relaxing area. Quiet enough and shops and restaurants a walk away. Unfortunately hotel is so filthy that it was actually mind blowing. Did not expect room this disgusting. Very very dirty. For that reason I would definitely not recommend it because we all know how easy is to pick up something in common areas when hygiene is this poor. Breakfast was terrible too. Now , staff was nice and poolite, as I said area was nice and pretty quiet. Air conditioning worked very well and there was a fridge too. I am not sure would I recommend it...need to decide for yourself.

We've stayed here in the end of January. Everything about the hotel seems pretty much perfect with the only exception of the beach. Probably there's no technical possibility to clean it from the rocks so we just had to enjoy the swimming pools and beaches nearby. We've rented a motorbike to explore the surroundings but I had to admit that it's super dangerous for non-experienced drivers to ride it here because of the great amount of sharp curves. Anyway, I would recommend the hotel since it seems to be the best one we've ever stayed.

Located at Lonely Beach about 10 kilometers away from the pier, far from the center. There are many restaurants and supermarkets next to the hotel, which is very convenient. The hotel environment is very good, facilities are ok. The pool villa I lived in was very small, but it was very clean. Every day there is someone to clean and test the water quality, which is great! I am very satisfied with the service, the greeting is very warm, and the attitude is quite good It should be noted that the management of this hotel is quite strict. Our family is two large and two small, and we were told to charge extra bed charges when we checked in. It is stipulated that only 2 people can stay in a room, and there is no discussion. 900 baht per person per night, the same for children. If you want to take off your shoes, you will have to pay a cleaning fee if it is dirty. I was charged 500 baht depending on the situation. Don't even think about smoking in the room, unless you have a lot of money and you smell 3000 baht once. Overall this hotel is a couple, the sunset in the evening is great! Eating around is also very convenient. The hotel has a special car to pick up and drop off the nearby beach every afternoon. There are more foreigners. Far from the famous white sand beach

I guess the price and performance ratio is okay, as the Hotel was not 100% operation at that time (maybe cheaper as well?). There was some renovation ongoing and the kitchen/bar was not fully equipped, but that was okay as we only wanted to stay for some days to explore the island and the National Park Islands. Sleeping was not easy as I got a flue and aircon on/off at night kept me busy. No breakfast included, but there was a very nice breakfast place just 50m left with travel agency for all the trips and massage as well - perfect spot. the staff was very friendly and helpful, thanks for the good stay.

Klong Prao Beach
Stay end December 2019 and January 2020, 36 nights. This was the 4th time we stayed at Emerald Cove. We booked well over a year in advance, and they held our booking until we had our air tickets confirmed in March. We booked so early as our stay was over Christmas and New Years Eve and most of January, some 36 days ! The setting of this hotel is beautiful and the hotel structure is very very nice. First time we stayed at the hotel it was part of the Amari group, but the hotel was subsequently acquired by a local businessman. It is a nice high level hotel and the prices are thereafter. As far as we know, today there is no more European staff or management. Actually, it seems like there is no hotel manager at all. There is also less supervisory staff. A supervisor for the dinning room and another for the pool would be highly recommendable. When the hotel was full, the pool toilets became quickly unusable. The hotell has changed policy and now take in charter groups, especially Chinese and Russian. Filling the hotel with charter groups does not add to the pleasure of guests paying full price, on the contrary. When this happens, the group guests go up early in the morning and book all sun chairs around the pool and in the garden, often double booking and then hardly use them. Not a nice situation for a better hotel. Frequently in the afternoon, big loudspeakers were put up near the pool and extremely loud rap disco music was blaring on for the rest of the afternoon so hardly any conversation was possible. It looks like the new owner is turning the hotel from a nice five star beach resort to a charter group hotel. What a pity ! It also seems that the hotel management is doing less maintenance than necessary. The children's pool is in a sorry state and only a very few of the bubbling jets are working. The elevator in our house required action several times during our stay and once my wife got stuck inside the elevator between two floors. The Christmas dinner was not compulsory as the New Years Eve dinner was. We participated in both. The Christmas dinner was 2.500 Baht pp ( 80€) and the New Years Eve dinner was 6.000Baht p.p. (190€) drinks excluded. The food was abundant on both occasions, to abundant. The fireworks were fantastic, but the music and show really lousy. The breakfast buffé is great ! It is really a treat to start the day with such an abundant breakfast offering. Like before, ALL staff are very friendly and helpful. Especially I would like to commend Ms. Ubonwan by the pool, but all staff was great ! Even if most staff have only a rudimentary knowledge of english, they all showed good will to understand and help. When we go on a holiday here, all we want is to sit in the shadow all day and read. So when the hotel was full and everything booked before 7 o'clock in the morning, I complained to the hotel. Subsequently two chairs were reserved for us every day so we could sit in the shadow and read. That saved ou

White Sand Beach
We have just got back from our holiday at KC Grande. I use tripadvisor a lot but have never taken to write a review until now. KC Grande is definitely one of the most popular hotels on Koh Chang. It’s in a great location only a short drive from the ferry port. The Hotel has the most fantastic pristine white sand beach in front of it and the pools are amazing. On the hillside they have a great rooftop pool which has amazing views for the sunset. We stayed on the beach side as the Hotel has two parts. One side is across the road on the hillside and the other main part of the hotel is on the beachside of the road. This is where the restaurant are so it’s much more convenient. One of my favourite things to do on holiday is to sunbathe by the pool and despite there being lots of space and sun loungers it was almost impossible to do so. Selfish guests at the hotel reserve sun beds early in the morning with towels despite there being signs saying that this is prohibited. Some sun beds are left with towels on them all day and hardly ever used. Sadly the staff and management do nothing about it. We even complained on 3 separate occasions and nothing was done. We only managed to get two sun beds together on two occasions meaning that it was almost impossible to relax and sunbathe. I have stayed at other resorts where only hotel towels are permitted on the sun loungers and staff collect towel regularly when they are left unsupervised for a period of more than 30 minutes or so. I have also stayed at resorts where staff kindly collect guests towels that are left unsupervised and keep them at the pool bar so that they can be later collected. This means that sun beds are never reserved for long periods of time. I would never return because of this and I wish that I had known that this was an issue so that I could have gone else where the staff and management take customer experience more seriously. It really ruined our holiday and had we been able to we would have moved to another hotel.

Klong Prao Beach
When I review any accommodation I try to be objective, regardless of my opinion or experience. I have found it difficult to write this review on The Dewa as it is neither particularly positive or negative and that just about sums up the Resort in my opinion - a bit average. We stayed for one week. The hotel is located on a lovely long stretch of white sand, Klong Prao Beach, sandwiched between Vayna hotel and Family restaurant. The whole beach front is full of restaurants, bars, massage parlours etc, so very buzzy. The hotel’s sun beds are set at the back of the beach, under sun shades & natural shade from trees, and are therefore not in the sun until mid afternoon. They are wooden beds, with a thin mattress, we found them uncomfortable to lay on after a while. To allow guests to enjoy the sun on the beach, they provide beanbags (very comfortable) and mattress’s - unfortunately, as it’s a public beach, we witnessed outsiders taking advantage of this, meaning some hotel guests went without this facility. Also, guests of the hotel’s sister hotel, The Ramayana, turned up daily & also used these facilities, so my advice would be to get down the beach early. Whilst we felt comfortable leaving our belongings on the beds while we went for a swim, I wouldn’t have left anything of value on a beanbag, with everyone walking past. Firstly, the hotel itself. It promotes itself as ‘distinctly different and absolute unique with its famous fusion architecture’ and yes the building is very different to most Thai resorts. The reception, rooms and villas are for the most part a collection of concrete structures with either palm or wood shingle roofs. There is a large swimming pool (positive) in the centre of the Resort with all of the rooms located on one side of the long pool. This is where all of the available sunbeds are also located, which are directly in front of the rooms. They’re in the sun in the morning & shade in the afternoon. There is a swim up pool bar but no access to the bar unless you swim up to it! The villas are located on the other side of the pool and down towards (but not on) the beach, and can best be described as a large round two story concrete bunker. Grey concrete outside and grey concrete plaster effect finish inside - just very grey and very dark - and in many ways it looks like it has just not been finished! The majority of the guests are Russian or Eastern European. We had a villa - a large room, with comfortable king size bed, 2 relaxing chairs, fridge, coffee table, kettle (inaccessible unless you removed the drinks tray) & desk ( although this was sandwiched between a wall & the bed, not leaving much room to get into bed. I regularly banged my thigh on the edge if I got up in the night.) Balcony had 2 chairs & table but looked directly onto the opposite villa’s balcony, so not at all private, and the door didn’t fit properly in the frame, meaning we couldn’t lock it. The floor space of the villa was probably a square, with the be

The entire experience at Santhiya Tree was perfect from the moment we set foot on the property. The front desk gave us all the information we needed without us asking any questions and made sure we had everything we needed upon arrival. There are different types of rooms on this resort but we got the type with the private infinity pool and we did not regret it one bit. The room was beautiful, they did not forget a single detail. The only thing I would say is if you are unable or unwilling to walk a lot I would choose the other rooms because the private pool rooms are on the farthest side of the resort from the beach, restaurant, and spa. They offered a deal for 1/2 off spa services if you booked on the first night of staying. We jumped on that and sure glad we did. They noticed we were sore and sunburn and rubbed tiger balm all over us. The included breakfast was the most extravagant included hotel breakfast I’ve ever seen. We also rented a scooter from the resort and it went so smoothly. They didn’t try to rip us off and that was enough piece of mind to pay the few dollar extra compared to renting off the resort. Over all I can’t think of any negatives from our experience.

It was a great new year journey to the post COVID-19 situation in Thailand we travel all the way from Bangkok to Koh Chang which is a lot better than what we expected at the beginning. The resort is located in a very decent location having private beach and small islands that you can row your kayak to. We booked the room at the reasonable price considering it was a high season, however because of the pandemic situation, there was not a lot of people and the rooms are not fully booked. We were happy with the scenery and the amenities that Hotel provided however we were not very satisfied with the cleanliness of the rooms and amenities. The roads on koh Chang is a little difficult to drive, please be aware. however there are a lot of interesting places and activities you can enjoy especially for your family children and even seniors.

The tropical rainforest environment may be the cause of the epidemic, the occupancy rate is not high, quiet, and it may also be the same reason, so the facilities are poorly maintained, and there are rats in the wooden houses and villas. This alone deserves a bad review, and it was changed later. The room, but my friend’s room still has mice, and the ceiling is very lively at night; the hotel’s beach cannot swim, there are a lot of coral stones that have not been cleaned, and almost all the feet of people who swim in the sea have been scratched. Personally, it shouldn't be like this during peak seasons. At that time, I ordered this hotel to go to'Shengtai', but it turned out to be very disappointing and not worth it.
