Hotels Near Taverna Tebelis In Naxos Review

The Argo is a typical Naxian boutique hotel – small, comfortably appointed, close enough to the beach and with a sea view in some rooms. Helpful, courteous staff, and our room was modern, well-appointed and enjoyed a reasonably-sized balcony with a distant sea view. (Our son and daughter-in-law reported that their non-sea view room needed a refresh – but I didn’t see that for myself…) Breakfast is standard Greek hotel fare – delicious and encouraging me to eat too much! Two major gripes, though: first, the internet in our room was almost non-existent. Down at reception, it was quick enough, but who wants to pad around a hotel’s public spaces in pyjamas while trying to pick up email or send pictures to family via email? I also developed an acute problem with my business back home, which needed fast internet access for a very short while – again, off to reception to solve the problem. It’s my view that any modern hotel that does not offer fast, reliable internet in-room needs a health warning. Second, come sleep time, when we turned the lights off, a small night light came on in one of the ordinary light fittings. Brilliant, perhaps, if you have small children or are scared of the dark. Awful if you want full black-out. The problem was solved by removing the key tag from its socket (which is needed to activate the lights and air-conditioning) – but that also turns off all the power sockets – not much use if you’re charging camera batteries or cell phones or tablets, etc. Net result: on with an airline ‘sleep mask’, which I find very uncomfortable. On balance, if I was offered the chance to come back here, I’d think twice about it because of these problems. I can’t comment on price/value for money as this was part of a package bought for us from an Athens travel agent.

I visited the hotel on July. On of the best experiences I have ever had. The hotel is located in a very nice and quite place next to Maragkas beach. You have access to bus that passes every 10 minutes and the stop is 10 meters away! The facilities are very clean and much more than adequate. The breakfast is almost perfect although I would love to see more variety on a daily basis. The best part is the view and the very friendly and polite personnel. There is also a great and clean pool next to the pool bar. You can have a quick meal. The bar is serving all kind of drinks and cocktails and I can say they are pretty good. Especially mojitos. The hotel has also umbrellas on the beach for you to lay down and rest on their shadow. Sometimes I didn't want to leave the place. Very relaxing and peaceful next to one of the greatest beaches of Naxos island. Also they serve great crispy chicken burgers! Thanks a lot Sebastian and Fotis. I'll be back again!

Beautiful. Amazing. Views. Kindest Hosts. Balconies. Patios. Terraces. Spotless clean. Daily maid service. Powerful A/C if you like, and so many pretty shuttered windows for fresh island breezes. Big-screen TV. Strong, free wi-fi. Smiles all around. Please read the 40 other super positive reviews. I don't think I've ever seen so many great messages on Trip Advisor. But I think I know why. You can see hosts Christos and brother Yiannis love the work they do and truly enjoy having guests stay at their very new hotel -- three stylish white houses facing the sea with a variety of rooms that can sleep a couple or a family very comfortably. And in great Greek style! Ploes Seaside Houses is just steps away from Plaka Beach, one of the longest and prettiest in all the Greek Islands. Swim, sunbathe, snorkel, windsurf, it's all there for you. And it's very quiet at night so you can hear the waves, and if you look up on a moonless night, like tonight, you will see many bright stars up in the sky. The Naxos KTEL bus runs every half hour to town and back for 2 € from morning until midnight. You can get on the bus right at the hotel next door. There's also a small, friendly supermarket there to buy your bus tickets that sells basic food and drink and some beach toys for kids. REMINDER: You must buy bus tickets before boarding from the KTEL ticket office at the port, or at a taverna, bakery or supermarket nearest your stop. The bus driver has no tickets and no money, so please buy your ticket(s) first. And no free return, one ticket each way. Distant, beautiful, ancient villages cost a bit more -- about 3€ for each one-way ticket. I would recommend a relaxing lunch in Filoti, Chalki or Apiranthos and then some exploring around those towns. There are tons of restaurants near Ploes Seaside Houses you can easily walk to. Try Aronis Taverna, Nikos and Maria's anytime, Mitatos for incredible ice cream and Tortuga for a very fine cocktail. Jan's Salmon Deli was awesome too, if you want to skip Greek for a night. All an easy walk right down the road. Big huge thank you, or efharisto poli to Christos, Yiannis, and Irma for making a three-week stay a holiday my wife and I will always treasure. You will too.

We stayed in the new apartment #39- our family of four (husband and wife, and 14 and 12 year old kids). We were the first ones to stay in this wonderful modern updated apartment with a huge terrace overlooking the ocean, a jacuzzi, and ocean views from all the rooms except the children’s bedroom. The hotel is also perfectly situated, far enough away from town that you have more of a beach resort feeling, but close enough that it is easy to walk into town. The apartment is very well designed, charming and modern. We have stayed at five star hotels before and this was right up there for quality and comfort. There are two TVS, one in the master for the large bed, and one in the children’s area across from bunk beds. We did not try them out as we did not need them. There are two toilets, and a shower (no tub). Kitchen was fully stocked, but we didn't use it much as the breakfast was included in our rate and delicious. Breakfast at Alkyoni is wonderful, fresh fruit and vegetable pies, Greek yogurt, omelets, cakes, all freshly made by the hotel with enough variety so we were happy to eat there every morning. Lattes and freshly squeezed orange juice from the pool bar were top notch. We usually had lunch and dinner in town. One thing to know about Greece is iphones apparently have some difficulty here with the internet. We needed to buy a range extender for wifi in our room (the hotel gave us a ethernet cable to connect my husband’s computer which once connected was very fast. But our iphones did not work so well – one of the employees took out her android phone and we compared speeds of loading and her’s using same wifi was much faster. This is no reflection on the hotel, just an observation with regard to iphones. All the employees were lovely, friendly and helpful. The restaurants they recommended were all great choices, and Naxos, when compared to Mykonos (where we went for a day, and quickly returned to Naxos with relief) is much more reasonably priced. A few friends had suggested going to Mykonos and Santorini, but after reading reviews here we stuck with Naxos and I can say we were very happy with our choice, especially after visiting Mykonos for the day. Irini’s, Lucerro’s Vasillis, and Waffle House for crepes and ice cream is AMAZING with wonderful flavors. Flisvos restaurant next to Alkyoni has great food too if you do not venture into town (but town is easy walk on boardwalk of maybe 10 minutes.) Grounds are maintained enough, but not a resort type of upkeep felt more like a family run feeling. When I say this I mean the grounds are immaculately clean, but some of the flower beds were not perfectly weeded – but the lawns were mown. This did not bother us at all but it is the difference between some 5 stars we have been to where they change out a plant the minute it gets a brown leaf, here they have flower beds and that is enough. The views from the hotel are stunning enough that I did not really notice a little weeding, but I ha

It definitely worth every single cent ! We booked the standard double room , it was very comfortable ! High quality of pillows . Super clean room , bath and public areas . The breakfast was more than good . Very friendly stuff . Would definitely recommend it for couples . Its close to the Naxos city center 5-8 minutes on foot , and the public free parking area is just 10 meters away of the hotel (so free parking all day long) ! The famous beaches of St. George , St. Prokopios and St. Anna are very close (around 5-10 minutes driving time) . So it is a very good option and very good value for money !

It is our first time to the island of Naxos and we couldn't have found a better little piece of heaven to stay. Our apartment was clean, well equipped with everything you might need, and stocked with delicious coffee, breakfast snacks, fresh fruit and a complimentary bottle of wine which was delicious! The bed is as wide as it is long and super comfortable, and the shower is amazing! We had our own little balcony overlooking the sea and the small streets that went done to the centre. Sitting on your balcony in the evening you can hear the live Greek music playing from the lovely restaurant below which is magical! The apartment is only a 5-10 minute walk from absolutely everything! You can walk from the port and the bus stop in less than 10. Less from all the hustle and bustle of the restaurants by the port, and the old market town! But you'd never know by how quiet the apartment is. We met the owner John at his restaurant "Typografia" in the square of Chora. We arrived at sunset in the square so it was a beautiful start to our trip. Before you leave, you must eat at the restaurant at least once! It was the best beef fillet I've ever had and John took good care of us! Now let's talk about John. John is such a genuinely good guy. He kept in contact with us throughout our journey to make sure everything went smoothly for us. He gave us a wealth of information about the island and made us feel right at home. Great Greek hospitality! This is a man who genuinely cares about your experience on the island!

My friend and I have just returned from island hopping...we did four islands / four hotels and this was probably our favourite... The staff were friendly and professional particularly the receptionists. A complimentary bottle of wine was left in our room. The location is great - a couple of minutes walk from the beach where the sun sets are amazing then turn right towards the restuarants and the town. Lots of shops and sightseeing are within walking distance. The breakfast was great, lots of choice. Lovely pool area but we did find other tourists to be reserving sunbeds which did not happen in the other hotels we stayed in...very disappointing...especially as the hotel was very busy when we arrived due to some of the ferries being cancelled as it was very windy over that weekend. We ate in the hotel restuarant on our first night, the food was lovely and reasonably priced. However the bar was expensive - 16 euros for 2 G&T's is pricey!! Our room was adequate for 4 nights but a little on the small side you had to be careful opening the ensuite door if someone was by the bed on the other side...same with the balcony doors. We had a kettle in our room which was a plus and a nice view from our balcony at the rear which had sun most of the day. Thank you to all the stafff.

We stayed here 14-17 July and had a fantastic stay. We just loved the hotel and the location on Plaka beach. We felt as if we were in the Caribbean as the vibe is so chilled out and holiday like. There are many bars and restaurants along the beach road and it is only a short walk into the town where there are many more. We arrived in our taxi which the hotel had arranged for us and were greeted with a warm personal welcome by the owner Athina. She explained everything about the hotel and all the improvements and changes she has made since taking control a few years ago. The grounds really are beautiful and I would say over they next few years there will be new additions that will just make it even better. We stayed in one of the more basic rooms on the side of the hotel on the ground floor. The room was immaculately clean and had everything we needed and was beautifully presented. We did view one of the fancier rooms on the top floor of the hotel and this was amazing. Great modern decor and wonderful views. I think when we return again we will treat ourselves to one of these rooms. We loved everything but had one very minor point. At breakfast there are some tables at the bar area but no one wanted to sit as these as they are not in any shade. We noticed a few people each morning hesitantly looking at them but not sitting down. On our the last morning we did the same but sat at the sofa area in the bar to have our breakfast as all the other tables were full. So maybe some umbrella's at these tables, at least during breakfast would give a bit more seating that is not in the hot sun when breakfast time is busy. The breakfast is lovely by the way and the atmosphere at breakfast was very tranquil. We definitely recommend staying at this hotel and would love to return!

We spent five days in the suite room with the jacuzzi and everything was perfect. The suites are located in hora, really close to the old town. It’s a perfect location as from here you can reach by walking the old town, the bus station and it’s also surrounded by lots of tavernas, car rental, supermarkets, so all the services that you need. The suite is beautiful, the design reminds the old Greek towns, and you will see a lot of attention to all the details. In the room you can find everything you need: a very comfortable bed and shower, the refrigerator, coffee machine (also a nespresso machine, which is the biggest dream for and Italian away from home!!), basic kitchen tools for having breakfast or a fast meal, an amazing jacuzzi and a balcony, which is the perfect location for a good breakfast! The host Marina is very kind! She took care of everything, providing us the information needed and helping us with the luggage storage.

what a fabulous little hotel this is. Family run by Niki. her nephew Jon. cook Anna and cleaner Maria. It is spotless thanks to Maria. The towels are changed every day and the sheets every other day. Our room was on the very top and had fabulous views of the sea courtesy of the large terrace that was allocated to the 3 apartments on the top floor. We also had a private balcony with side sea views and a small area if you wanted to sit away from the balcony. The room itself was a good size and had cooking facilities and a fridge and kettle. The shower room and toilet was small but it did the job. We opted for the breakfast and although there is no dining room per se you can sit outside or take it to your room to eat on the balcony. What can I say about Anna's baking? well I've put on a lot of weight mainly due to her wonderful savoury quiche, cheese pies etc. Then her fabulous sweet cakes, pastries etc. The breakfasts consisted of meats. cheese. Greek yogurt. fresh fruit Anna's delicious bakes. lovely fresh bread. butter and jams/honey.Tea/coffee and orange juice. There was no restriction on the amount you could eat either. Niki who runs the hotel is delightful. She was so helpful and most accommodating. we used to sit on the top terrace every night for a drink with our friends and Niki always came and chatted to us. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The rooms have recently been refurbished to a high standard and Niki says that the rooms upstairs will be next on the list.I was very happy with our room although the bed was just too hard for us, but Niki informed me that they would be changed. I fully intend to go back next year and hopefully with our friends who also loved both The Panormos and Naxos.

This hotel is a small accomodation in the end of the beach, the best spot for us in all the area. Every morning we were walking just 2 min to lay by the beach, the location was really calm and our room had a nice private balcony. All the spaces at our room and outdoors were kept clean, and the wifi was really strong. We didn't use the pool as the beach in front was our first choice.... Thank you dear Ivi for your welcome and your nice hospitality.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of the season (end of October) in a room with a double bed plus a separate single bed (as requested), one flight of stairs up. This is a small, modern, clean, stylish, private guesthouse (Bed & Breakfast) where Petros and his son Anthony offered very friendly hospitality (a personal card and a complementary bottle of wine were waiting in our room), they could answer all questions (in perfect english or even in swedish) on the town, the island and its history. The room featured a small kitchen area, which was very good for making coffee/tea etc. On a sheet of paper we could indicate what you wanted for breakfast the next morning, and at which particular time (after 8 AM). Each morning the breakfast was brought up to our room in a basket. The room featured airconditioning, a small balcony, good wifi and shutters to block early day light entering the room. The small bathroom featured a toilet, wash basin and a glassed-off section with shower plus rain shower. The room was not super-large but it was thoughfully and tastefully designed. The location is in one of the narrow streets near Giorgio beach, on the south side of the village, walking distance to the boulevard. We had an excellent, quiet stay, I think only one or two other rooms were occupied (whith luckily no noisy small children). As the reception area is not open 24/7, don't forget to indicate your estimated arrival time for check-in. We would not hesitate to book here again when on Naxos.

It was a last minute choise during August . I have to say that it is a hotel with polite and helpfull owner in a good location near the seaside and the city center and it impressed us the good work in the renovation of the common area full of clasic furniture and beautiful paintings . A quite hotel . Now , in my opinion the room where we stayed needs furniture renovation . We also faced a problem with the cleanliness of the water in the bathroom but it may has to do with the lack of water in the island .

The hotel is in a fantastic location, just over 5 minutes to St George’s beach, 2 minutes till you hit the first restaurants or supermarkets. The lady on reception was fantastic, she organised our cookery course and a car for us. The service and hospitality from when we arrived was excellent. This is a little boutique hotel close to everything which is what we wanted, we wished we’d got our full 6 nights (delayed by 2 days due to the weather with ferry crossings). The room had a small fridge, enough to get big bottles of water in or wine and Tv on the wall. My wife liked the fact you could plug in the hair dryer in front of the mirror in the room vs bathroom. The bed was fantastically comfy - extra pillows not an issue, the breakfast was excellent - traditional Greek and plenty of variety. Our only minor issue (and we’re) digging really deep is there were no drawers to put clothes only hanging. It’s minor, and doesn’t distract from me still giving this hotel 5 stars. A lovely clean room, in a great location with a comfy bed! Couldn’t ask for more.

Traveling alone, I felt a bit adrift. As soon as I arrived at Taki's Place, I immediately felt at home. Kiki and her mom welcomed me right in and took excellent care of me in my time with them. And Kiki will happily pick you up and drop you off at the airport or port! I arrived early, so my room was still being cleaned, but Kiki made me coffee and brought with it some delicious home made rice pudding to refresh myself while I waited. Then she gave me a map and oriented me to the area and to the island, should I wish to get out and about. I was there for 5 days and mostly I stayed close to "home." I walked to the Port and/or beach everyday and spent a lot of time in the quiet of my room, reading, writing, recharging. Kiki would even bring me an after dinner sweet in the evening! The place is simple and very clean and my room had a small kitchenette so I could store and prepare my own food, if I wanted. Taki's Place sits in a residential neighborhood with the lovely sound of kids playing in the street. It was really nice to be away from big hotels and lots of other tourists, and yet it's only a 5 minute walk to the port. And honestly, you can't beat the price!! I've stayed other places where the amenities were more extravagant and the decor was fancier, and honestly I'd rather stay at Taki's. There is love to the place and as I was far away from home, friends and family, it was much needed and much appreciated. I would definitely stay here again! Thank you Kiki and family!! :D

This was our first trip to Naxos, and I can't imagine staying anywhere else. We were greeted by the owners who made us feel so welcome almost excited to see us! They spent time reviewing the island and made recommendations, and the younger gentleman spoke great English which is always a comfort to have while traveling. We really wanted to hang out with him while there, but he was not feeling well, but somehow more hospitable than a 4 or 5 star back home! The rooms had everything you needed. Our shower was a little small but probably on par with most other places I would assume. The rooms were clean and ours had the cutest little patio with lovely flower vines climbing the walls. The beach is literally a 1 min walk away. Along the way, there are a couple breakfast/coffee options. Not as good if you were closer to the pier but just fine. There is even a laundry place down the street that was very convenient. It's a decent walk to the boardwalk but doable for a group of 25-30 yr olds — all around great location. The hospitality alone was worth the stay. I would absolutely recommend this place during your visit and can't wait to visit them again.

Stayed here middle of October .... price was right and reviews were very good ... we were picked up at the port and brought to the hotel.... strange location... just a few steps from the main street but tucked away in the middle of a maze of houses and apartments. Quick check in a tiny reception area ... quick briefing of where to go ... Rooms are amazing ... brand new, spotlessy clean, decent size, but the big problem for us was the noise of the doors banging... there is little or no soundproofing in the hotel and you can hear every step, door, shower etc. etc.. Now in fairness, this was just an issue during the day when other guests were coming and going .... I slept like a baby at night on the fabulous comfortable bed .. so no complaints there .. it just feels like a 'castle' or a 'dungeon' ... such a shame after building such a beautiful hotel that they did not think to put better insulation in the walls or at least better doors in the rooms that don't make so much noise when being closed. Another problem although NO fault of the hotel, is the lack of water... it was cut off both days we were there from the town... as they have a huge water drought on the island .. but I feel if the hotel had an adequate resevoir full of water for the hotel, this could have been avoided. Highlight of our hotel stay was breakfast on the roof each morning ... a huge amount of different delights and coffee with a 360 view of Naxos was amazing... Staff friendly and helpful.... What we missed also was a nice seating area/bar/coffee room for somewhere to meet before going out and before going to bed.... All in all, a really lovely hotel... great potential once a few snags are sorted out.

Near the famous beach Plaka sits this amazing privately owned family resort that is so peaceful and quiet! Normally when I travel I never stay at resorts but I am glad this was an option for visiting Naxos! The Medusa Resort Suites are very clean and the rooms are very nice with air conditioning. Leaving the windows up gives the entire place a nice cool breeze during a hot summer day! Housekeeping cleans your room everyday while you’re either out on the beach soaking up sun or in the city site seeing. I loved that my suite was spotless every time I returned back home from being out. The breakfast was delicious. A lot of choices to please a few different people. The lunch and dinner menu is great as well. I enjoyed a few cocktails beach side which made time at the beach much more pleasurable. The dinner menu I believe is extensive. The pricing is just right! I was able to experience many different things every night of the stay which was great! The hotel also offers a Kayak and paddle board to enjoy when you want to go out onto the water! This was something I was able to experience for the very first time! (Paddle boarding) The family who is operating the hotel is very nice and they really care about your experience. They make sure all of your needs are met throughout your entire stay which makes this resort 5 STAR! If you want a peaceful beautiful stay in Naxos with a unique accommodation I recommend staying at this resort as it’s perfect for relaxation and leisure. Oniro Studios Naxos Town Great place to stay. 619238727 The Oniro is an excellent hotel in the St George’s Bay Area. It is situated within a few minutes walk to the square with several good restaurants & a few more minutes to the town waterfront. St George beach is a couple of minutes walk in the other direction. The Oniro is also situated in a quiet street with very little traffic noise, day or night. The owners, Petros & Georgia, are a lovely couple who will do their utmost to make your stay a pleasant one. During our stay we were in two different rooms. Both had been newly refurbished & were immaculate, boutique rooms with a hi tech lighting setup. Everything was in pristine condition during our two week stay there. We were met at the port by the owner who transported us to his hotel. We were given a beer each on the roof garden & told that free coffee & cake would be available each morning at 9am served by his wife Georgia. The highlight of my stay was the fact that the large rooftop area was freely available to guests. The whole area is very tastefully set out with tables, chairs & couches. There was also an area under cover in case of rain. There is a great sea view & hillside villages to see & while we were there great sunsets. There was also a fresh drinking water tap there if required. The Oniro enjoys many regular & seasoned visitors who come year after year and this is an hotel which you will also wish to return to.

We had a room right next to the pool and our doors opened onto the pool. The owners put a table and 2 chairs for us to sit out by the pool. The bed was comfortable and the room very clean, cleaned on a daily basis. There was a fridge and safe in the room at no extra cost which was helpful as it was sunny and warm. There was a cold drinks water and hot drinks machine which we were able to access throughout the day. On arrival we were given cake and drink of our choice which was very welcoming. The owners would explain what there is to do on the island should you ask. There are plenty of lovely restaurants in the town and the hotel is about 10-15mins from the beach. Would recommend the Island Tour which covers a small part of the island but there are plenty of car/vehicle hire places if don't mind driving. To cap it all, the weather was beautiful, a bit windy the first week and the sea was rough but still warm. The breakfast was perfect and had a choice of fruit, eggs, bacon, or continental style food. The food was topped up regularly so there was plenty for everyone. The location meant it was quite noisy at night - some of the hotel guests tended to shout and slam doors from time to time and the area was quite noisy as the hotel is next to the road. However that isn't the hotels fault and out of their control.

We’re about a month late with our report at this great little hotel on St George Beach, Naxos. This was the start of our 16 day trip to the Greek Islands and Athens. We took a small plane from Athens to Naxos and were picked up by Georgia at the small airport Very friendly lady and she whisked us to our new home for 4 days. We loved our room with a balcony overlooking the street & views to the water. Because it was a dead end street, it seemed more like a courtyard below our balcony. The beach was just beyond that as well as many lovely restaurants and bars. We got to try many of them. Wonderful food and people. Every morning we were served a nice breakfast of fresh bread, marmalade, honey, yogurt, and peach and banana slices with a nice cup of coffee compliments of Naxos Dreams . The young lady Jessica who looked after us was incredible and very genuine and we became good friends with her. This was the last week for her in Naxos as she was heading for University studies in England. We were fortunate enough to give her a hug on her last day and wish her all the best in her future. We spent lots of time and great meals at the beautiful port, took the island bus tour and seen so many wonderful sites. Naxos is a wonderful island to visit and Naxos Dreams Aphrodite a great place to stay. On the day of our departure Peter, the other owner took us and a few other guests by van to the ferry docks. They looked after us from the time we got there until we left.Good service, clean room and a great vacation at your hotel. Thanks again !! Now on to Paros then Sifnos and 4 days in Athens. Bill and Ruth Norris Elmira ON Canada

These are the apartments as opposed to the beach front hotel. But to be honest there was so much to do in Naxos I was only in my room to rest. The room is pretty, immaculately clean and the bed is very comfortable. Good bathroom and amenities. The location is situated half way between the beach and the town so you can access these areas easily by foot. The confirmation email I received gave me very clear instructions and the google location on how to get there. I arrived by ferry and it was a 15 minute walk. I am a healthy female and had wheels on my suitcase and though it was good exercise the effort for me was not excessive to walk there. I was greeted by Fotini who is absolutely delightful. She speaks good English and does all she can to make you feel welcome. There is a beach club nearby at St George beach where you can hire a sunbed at reduced rates. And it’s walking distance to the Potara Apollo which you must visit at sunset. Yes, the vista is not particularly glamorous but the upside is the location, the comfort of the room and the staff. You are also close to two excellent restaurants: Maro and To Elliniko, both of which I recommend. Thank you Fotini. Travel safe, everyone.

Wonderful, simple and inexpensive place to stay with a taverna on site. We were thrilled and delighted with this place. The studio was built to capitalize on location and Mediterranean winds. You have a completely unobstructed view of the South Aegean Sea, and a very short walk (200 yards or so) to pristine beaches. Owners ade wonderful: very accommodating and studios are very clean, colorful and airy. Magical location. Cheers and Opa!

Dedalos Studios is outstanding in all respects. The staff are the warm and helpful. Ferry pick up, help finding the best car rental rate, tips for exploring the island's beaches, food and culture. You name it. They've got you. This family-run home away from home is just perfect. All the facilities, from the pool to the rooms, spotlessly clean and well maintained. Handy kitchenette. The location is perfect: far enough from Naxos town to avoid the chaos, but close enough to walk into town. 5-10min by foot to the nearest beach by foot and 3min to the best grocery (all the local wines & cheeses your heart desires). You could well stay in this peaceful retreat without a car, but its also a great home base for explorations a little farther afield in neighbouring towns. Can't wait to visit again!

This was a great find and everything about the stay was great. The rooms were perfectly cleaned and cleaned every day, the host was very friendly and helpful with everything - including tips on where to go around the island. The shutters on the door meant that we could make it dark in the room well into the morning, which was great for holiday sleep ins. In terms of location, it is a few blocks back from the beach - less than 5 mins slow wander and the beach is great for dips on the hot days and in the other direction, it is was about 5 mins to the town square on top of the hill and 10 (maybe 15 if you are slow walker) to the harbour down on the other side, which seemed to be the main restaurant strip. Having said that, there are no shortages of great restaurants anywhere we went in the town and the ones just 1/2 a block from the studios were excellent. The view from the (our) balcony was across the neighbourhood - nice looking over typical Greek white 2-3 story buildings with blue doors/windows. Given the price and the location, we did not miss sea views at all and went down to the beach twice every day anyways. We stayed for quite a few days and I'd say this is the perfect place if you are looking just to kick back and relax for a while on a gorgeous Greek Island.

Reception efficient when we arrived. This is a nice quiet spacious hotel. The room, no226, is very comfortable with a kettle, nice comfortable twin beds and a sea view. Everything we need is here. Very comfortable chairs on the balcony which gets the sun all day. It’s clean and modern. The first night we slept very badly as the pillows were too thick, hard and lumpy. We asked for better ones the next day and they arrived within minutes. Goodness knows why they don’t throw the others away, the rest of the place is so good! The fridge and safe are good too. The breakfast is excellent, with everything you could want, my only complaint is that the cooked food is almost cold. Likewise the evening buffet, good food but only lukewarm. The hotel needs to invest in some equipment to keep their food hot. There are some excellent tavernas nearby but street lighting is non existent in places. The best we found was Petrino, not cheap but great food and surroundings and authentic Greek. Across the dirt road is the amazing beach, almost 6km long. Sandy all the way and , though the water is rocky in a lot of places, there are parts where the swimming is perfect. This beach is a Naturist paradise. Thoroughly recommended.

Our sea view apartment was first class. The balcony was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The apartment looked as though it had recently been refurbished. It was very fresh, light and airy, had excellent double glazing and new shutters to keep out any light at night. The apartments are ideally situated in a quiet spot 5 minutes walk to the chora and the same to the seafront. The owner Nikos was very helpful giving us a map and book on Naxos upon arrival and taking us to the airport when we left. We will definitely try to book the Nikos Verikokos apartments when we return to Naxos.
