We are a group of two and we stayed here for three nights in February. It is 2 minutes away from the echigo yuzawa station by foot and by the entrance of the hotel is the free shuttle bus stop to gala yuzawa (and ishiyuchi on weekends). Our room is a traditional Japanese room (around $1880 hkd / night include breakfast) and it includes a separate bathroom and a shower. The shower is quite decent (normal) and it’s not those bucket showers, actually has a shower head. The breakfast is average, very vegetables focus, it changes everyday. I personally would not mind opting out of breakfast and buying breakfast from 7-11 instead. The outdoor Onsen is very nice and you get a lot of privacy because usually not many people or none at all.

We had 11 family members, many first time skiiers, stay at this well known resort. The location is super convenient (steps from the train station, easy shuttle to gondola station), had two large rooms next to each other with a mix of tatami and regular beds, had a great buffet style breakfast/dinner with food to suit everyone's taste. While you can leave your skis at a locker, Yuzawa has storage for your equipment at the base of the gondola station. The hotel's outdoor onsen is really nice, and has many pools to soak in after a day's skiing. If you prefer trying some restaurants/bars in town, you are steps from the main street, but would check on the need for reservations and times of operations. If you have a large group and/or are a first timer in Japan skiing, this is a great option as it's a quick Shinkansen to Tokyo, accommodates English speaking tourists easily, and is convenient for accessing the mountain.

I took a five-year-old child alone, the hotel was clean, there were hot spring blisters, the owner was very kind, went to the station, and also sent us to the ski slopes, and slept on tatami. The child was so happy that I ate sashimi every day. Tempura, vegetables are grown by yourself, and they are all Japanese foods. The children's acceptance is average, but Japanese milk is super delicious, very strong and very thick, especially fresh and sweet. The more you drink, the more addictive you can drink 750 ml in one breath. I still drank it after eating a large bowl of noodles.

My daughters first time seeing snow so we thought we would opt for a more traditional hotel experience with Futon beds and Onsen on site and have some fun. We were not disappointed with our choice. The hotel was warm and inviting, the traditional rooms were very clean and comfortable and the Futon beds that were laid out at night were comfy and v cosy. Pjs and kimonos are provided, our girls had fun wearing them down to the onsite Onsen where we enjoyed sitting in the outside pool surrounded by snow. The breakfast options were varied, we opted to get dressed for breakfast though rather than wear our PJs and slippers 😀 We skied up at Gala Zuzawa, there was a very convenient shuttle bus that takes literally 4 mins to get there. If we hadn’t had the kids we would have probably walked, it’s very close. Lots of restaurants in short walking distance, although check if you need to book. We also opted to walk from the station as the roads were clear, but there is a bus pick up too. Fun experience and we would stay again.

The transportation is very convenient. It is a beautiful snow town just 5 minutes walk from the subway. It is so happy to walk around and feel the white snow package! Never before in Beijing, so enjoy it! Hotel: It is the most famous one in the town. It is very Japanese style. When you enter the room, you can have a good time: warm tatami, soft beds are two separate areas, clean toilets and bath rooms. The hotel gave us before check-in. Prepared hot water and ice water, you can make a pot of tea and sit on the tatami, wearing pine trees and towns in thick silver, and there are mountains and fog and snow in the distance. Lines in the air, drink a cup of tea at this time, wow! Dinner: The hotel prepared kaiseki cuisine for us. Although it was not too delicious, the words "Welcome me" were written on the table prepared for us. It felt like a VIP! The hotel's hot spring: On the 7th floor, the hotel prepared a simple bath for us. You can dress up and go to the hotel and then go directly to the hot spring: To go to the open-air hot spring, you must pass through two doors, freeze, and quickly jump into the hot spring. How good! !! Stayed only one night at the hotel and I was so reluctant to check out Will come again ~

Do you have a Shinkansen to drive? Store pick-up station snow field. I booked a room without a separate toilet and toilet. I was not used to it, and I got used to it the next day. The hotel booked for skiing, only four of more than 20 cable cars were opened, and all of them were green roads, which caused people to be particularly crowded. It often took ten minutes to get on the cable car. The snowy roads are also extremely crowded, and many beginners are very dangerous to sit on the road. Many restaurants in the hotel cost about 1.5 to 2 times that of similar restaurants in Tokyo. But remote locations can only be eaten here. There is a free bus to the train station, but back to the hotel will give priority to guests who check in that night. Usually guests who have stayed before can only return by bus or taxi. Breakfast can be full, but the price is not high. Children sleep on the sofa bed and are charged the same as adults.

It belongs to a family hotel. It is about 15 minutes by bus from Echigoyuzawa JR Station. The hotel is very cozy, but the sound insulation is not good and the rooms facing the street are noisy. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the ski resort to the cable car station. There are hot springs in the neighborhood at the walking point. The hot springs in the snow are great, but there are many people in the ski season. In short, if you are specializing in skiing, this shop is really a good choice. The hotel has a place for skateboarding and a place for changing clothes. You can also use skis to buy ski tickets and hot spring tickets. very convenient

I stayed here with my son over Christmas. I choose the location for its access to the best skiing in the area and for providing typical Japanese Inn facilities, but with English-speaking hosts. Pete and Lenore made us (and everyone else) extremely welcome. Having just arrived from the UK, initial thoughts were the place seemed a little tired, with what seemed to be 1970s decor, but I now understand it’s typical and this place isn’t expensive. I got used to the shared bathroom facilities, but the onsen just down the road is a fabulous Japanese experience at the end of a day on the slopes. Pete and Lenore have plans for the hotel and hope to be able to provide evening dining. Presently, breakfast is available and you can bring in your own food for the evening (fridge and microwave provided). Location- wise, this place couldn’t be better. It’s right next to the Mitsumata Ropeway lift station, next to the bus stop for Yuzawa (although last returning bus is early evening - it was just over 3000 yen by taxi) and across the road from a ski hire shop. The skiing was awesome. We happened to have a storm, so a couple of metres of snow fell in the few days we were there.

1. The transportation is convenient. There are shuttle buses from the Joetsu Shinkansen Tokyo / Ueno to Echigo-Yuzawa Shinkansen. Most of the buses leave at 20 o'clock to the hotel; 2. The Japanese-style room is spacious, there are two men and women in the bath; both indoor and outdoor; 3. There are gyms and indoor and outdoor swimming pools; indoors are open in winter and the temperature is high and comfortable; 4. There is a familymart in the lobby, which is convenient for shopping, and the price is the same as that of downtown Tokyo, which is affordable; 5. Meals and breakfasts and dinners are still abundant, but they have not changed from day to day, and there are basically no differences between several restaurants. They are too single and unfriendly to customers who live for many days; suggestions for improvement; 6. The hotel's ski area is very small, suitable for beginners with children and families, coaches need to make an appointment in advance for ski schools; advanced people need to go to other ski areas, such as naspa, gala, Yuzawa Plateau, Yuzawa Nakari, etc .; 7. There are basically no other entertainment activities.

The hotel is about 8 minutes drive from JR Echigo Yuzawa Station. The hotel has a shuttle bus from the station to the hotel. We didn't know, and didn't call the hotel to pick up. We bought a ticket from Tokyo directly to the JR Station water station nearest to the hotel. As a result, Tokyo arrived at Echigo Yuzawa Station more than 13:00, but the car to JR Water was 15:08, so I had to wait at the station. Fortunately, when we got out of the station, it was snowing, and the children were so happy that they couldn’t care for more than an hour at the entrance of the station. Japan has a very good advantage. Don't worry about losing your luggage and throwing children. We throw the suitcase on the side of the road and play snow. The hotel has no obvious LoGo, and my homework is not enough. Baidu navigation is also not very accurate. We walked around the hotel and finally found it. Asked the owner of the rented ski prop shop next to him, he did not point to it. So I took a picture of the person who went to see it later, remember to find the signboard of Tang Yu Tang, a four-story building with a spiral staircase. Wearing snow boots and carrying a suitcase to walk on the road, there is always a melting snow water spray to the shoes feels very bad. Fortunately, the hotel service is very good. Although they are generally in English, I am generally happy to communicate. The entrance to the hotel waiter will show you what is on each floor. Rent a ski on the first floor, it can be said to be underground, the front desk is on the second floor. Special reminder that after renting the ski equipment, we don’t have to take it upstairs. We don’t know if we go to the second floor. We only know that there is a slope on the first floor. The rented skis are wearing ski boots and are directly on the slope on the first floor. The car is gone, the hotel has a car to go to the ski resort. The time to send is maneuverable and you can tell the hotel reception. Finally, we recommend the hot springs of the hotel. The hot springs have a long history and there are certificates on the walls. It is very comfortable to soak.

My stay at the Takahan Ryokan was wonderful thanks to the welcoming staff, classic room layout and view, and history of the property. I arrived at Gala Yuzawa Station a little before the official check-in time (3:00 pm) but was still picked up within five minutes after calling. The staff member on the phone spoke good English, as did the two staff members - both non-Japanese - who welcomed me at the hotel. Everyone was patient and went out of their way to help me and answer questions. One staff member led me up to my room on the fifth floor of the hotel, showing me the entrance to the baths from the hot spring presumably under the property and the room Kawabata Yasunari wrote "Snow Country" in, both on the first floor, along the way. I was really happy with the room, which was quite large by Japanese standards and had a great view. As another reviewer noted, the amenities in the room are dated, but I thought that just added to the charm. As a fan of Kawabata Yasunari, I really enjoyed the history of the place and the chance to look out on the town from the same vantage point he described in his novel. The comfortable seating - with tea set - on the room's balcony/veranda made this especially enjoyable to do. Overall, my stay at the Takahan was one of the most memorable and enjoyable I've had. Highly recommended.

This onsen hot springs in Yuzawa, Niigata, is a must-go place if you want to enjoy an authentic onsen hot springs. This place was ranked as one of the top three onsen hot springs in Japan in Nihon Keizai Shinbun Newspaper article (so it got more difficult to book a room here compared to a few years ago). Easy access from Tokyo on the billet train plus taxi (4000yen max. flat rate offered by Yuzawa Uonuma taxi) or bus (runs almost every hour) from Yuzawa station. The hotel building is wooden and very traditional, yet clean and beautiful. The onsen hot springs apparently has at least 400 years of history. Very friendly staff and healthy meals are wonderful. Highly recommended for everyone who enjoy peaceful time. Grate place for single travelers, families, and couples. Elders and handicapped travelers might want to request a room on the first floor.

This time I want to ski in Naeba for 5 days. One night of Naeba Prince Hotel is full. I chose this hotel as the nearest hotel. Because the price is half cheap and I do n’t want to change the hotel every day, I directly booked 2 nights because I took 2 people. Children under 6 years old stayed. The hotel said that when I booked, there was no child. Actually, I could n’t choose a child. I was thinking that I would make up the difference then. When I checked in, the shop owner said that I would charge twice as much as the annual price ( Take out the New Year's Eve price list), so the total price of one plus even surpassed the Naeba Prince Hotel, which cost more than 1,500 a night. And if you want to charge 2 more people, open another room for me. So the experience is: large hotels usually write as much as they do, and they do n’t charge extra, but small hotels have a lot of variables, and there is a large gap in facilities and services. There is no mineral water, no boiling water equipment, and the heater has to be turned on after entering the room. You can only take a shower at night every day, and you have to say in advance that brushing your teeth and washing your face are in public places outside the room. Although the small hotels in Japan are very hygienic, and the couples are very attentive, but for the same price of more than 1,500, you will understand how to choose.
