|6.1km from city centerWhen we arrived to check-in the lady at the counter couldn't access our booking which I had made on *********** and she made it seem as if this was our fault which was a bit frustrating. We had to wait quite a while until she was able to access it to confirm that I had already paid for the booking. The hotel itself was beautiful. The carpets in the bedrooms should be removed or updated as they are old and stained and spoils an otherwise lovely room! The biggest issue we faced was that the generator stopped working during our stay...mind you this was during a heatwave and the situation was handled poorly by staff. We had to go to our rooms early because staff was closing down the bar and outside area when loadshedding kicked in. They had no emergency lights at all to give to guests to use in the rooms which besides being unacceptable is also a safety risk. What if someone gets hurt or injured on your property in the dark? The staff had no response to anything except to say that they could not help us with anything and could not even look us in the eye. My parents who are in the 70s had to make their way up the stairs and be in their rooms with no lights available at all. The hotel is dark in general and with no lights on at all was not a pleasant experience. How were people supposed to use the bathroom as well in the dark? Staff should have also atleast made sure people had enough water as there was a heatwave with no aircons. Extremely disappointed that we paid to stay at this hotel and did not receive the general facilities we should have had and the attitude from the staff was unacceptable. Very disappointing to have paid so much for this experience

|7.04km from city centerWe stayed at this hotel twice in March 2023. Whilst it was 'ok' there were several features which need attention if it is to retain any semblance of a quality hotel. 1. Checkin procedures were interminable ..... expect to wait 20 mins minimum to check in whilst staff fiddle with computers, papers, passports, photocopies, preparation of keys etc. This process needs streamlining. 2. There are NO phones in the rooms. Rather you must have a smart phone and log in via a QR code and then do whatever .... we did not have phones and had to physically go down to reception to report problems. 3. The a/c in room 1 did not work. We went down to reception but nothing was done. 4. The room safe did not work in room 2. Attention to these issues needed as they reflect an underlying issue with management.

I am definitely returning with my friends and family on my next visit and there's certainly more solo trips I'll be enjoying there! Thank you Karabo for my warm meals and good wine! Your emotional support has taken me swiftly out of my depressed mood!

|8.18km from city centerVery pleased with our stay here. This is a small hotel on the outskirts of Pretoria at the end of a quiet leafy street, well situated for the N1 and N4 freeways. The parking is secure, the staff were brilliant very friendly and informative. The food was of a high standard, although a very limited dinner menu. Good view from the dining room. I liked the layout of this hillside building. The bathroom was spacious and the gardens were small but well layed out with small pool, jacuzzi and water features/ponds. Famous 'jacaranda' trees stand just down the road and they're worth seeing! The only gripes I would have is that the room was a bit cold, and noisy at night due to traffic, planes etc. No sound-proofing. Just bring ear plugs. Breakfast service was slow (on weekdays) But overall this was a great place to stay, excellent value for money, and I'd recommend it to anybody :-)

|2.6km from city centerI wouldn't really have chosen this kind of hotel, as I prefer smaller and more family accommodation, but the place where I booked made a booking mistake and they placed me here. We struggled to find as the parking is not really close to the main entrance on ground floor. Nobody told us to drive 6 levels up... The rooms are standard and equipped with the essential. I didn't like the fact that they try to charge you 25R of parking every time you get a new ticket... I assume it is convenient for those wanting to stay in the middle of town, as it is quite centrally located. Not really found of the shopping mall atmosphere, but again, this is my personal opinion.

|0.4km from city centerA comfortable hotel with smart, well laid out rooms. The room included a kettle with supplies of tea/coffee, a heater and a good sized tv. The public areas of the hotel were particularly lovely - the first floor lobby with a roaring fire led onto a cosy bar and a well sized restaurant that rustled up some decent food at short notice. Nice decoration too - such as the paintings of cricket grounds in the hallway leading up to the restaurant (quite appropriate as many rooms look out on Centurion Park cricket stadium). Overall, a good place to stay in the area.

|44.97km from city centerWe stayed at Mongena for a week and got married there on the Saturday night. So we've been interacting with Marina and her team for nearly a year planning the wedding. We had the most amazing time. All of the staff that we interacted with were extremely professional and treated us really well. They really go the extra mile to make sure you are looked after. The food is incredible - everything we ate was delicious. The grounds are very well kept and there are zebra, springbok and nyala roaming around, which are beautiful to look at. We went on a sunset cruise and two game drives, and saw a lot. The rangers were professional and knowledgeable, while also being helpful. The wedding was incredible - Marina is the most amazing organiser and every member of her team worked very hard to make the wedding a success. Everyone had a good time. We had people stay over on the Friday night before the wedding and it was great to have more time to interact with our guests. Overall a fantastic experience and would highly recommend it. Bonus that it is so close to Johannesburg and OR Tambo airport.

The one we had water was flooding to the toilet side.. but all in all everything was amazing and we enjoyed our stay.

|7km from city centerStayed here with a group of students for one night. The hotel is, for its price, good value. The rooms are simple but clean and ok for a night or two. The staff is friendly however not too efficient with check-in which took close to an hour. We had dinner, lunch and breakfast at the hotel. The food was ok but expect no frills or service, just decent and relatively affordeable. I do feel that with the amount of traffic the hotel has, that more can be done here. The garden is very nicely set up and great to enjoy a meal or to relax. The staff was caring and once we connected with them, nothing was too much which was great. Overall a good and affordeable place to stay in Pretoria.

|3.07km from city centerLoved the new look! Found it to be contemporary and on par with where other leading hotels are going at this star level. I was surprised by the in-room fridge and found it to be a nice touch indeed. I also appreciated the plentiful connection points for charging my laptop and cell phone. The service is always good and many of the front-end staff call me by name as I enter, which is always a wonderful experience. Well done, guys. Wishing you well as you complete the revamp.

The reason for the trip was to attend a function. The phones being off meant that one was cut off from communication. After asking reception in the morning, I was confidently told the generator only works for lights. Consider ppl travelling into pta from far in future generator purchase please. Even if u lease it. |4.52km from city centerBrooklyn is the most privately-run, human-friendly bed and breakfast I have lived in these years. The century-old house has a small garden with a swimming pool. The home design in the room is very artistic. Living people. High quality breakfast, excellent location, convenient restaurants and supermarkets in the surrounding area, located in the quiet Brooklyn neighbourhood, relatively safe area in South Africa. The breakfast was of high quality, the coffee and fruit omelette were delicious, and the service could not be said. We did our best to help all our needs, and we really feel at home! recommend!

|2.28km from city centerI was travelling to Namibia and used this hotel for an overnight stay. It is about a 35 minute taxi ride from Johannesburg airport at night. Almost all the distance was on a secure highway. The hotel is located in a very good location in Pretoria, next to a sports stadium. The central part of Pretoria was an easy 5 minute ride away. The hotel is in fact located in a complex with a sports stadium, restaurants, bars, shopping, grocery, and other amenities. It is very secured as it is cordoned of by fencing and security. The staff was pleasant, greeted me and smilingly gave me my room details. I had a beautiful clean room with fresh bedding, a shower, some amenities, and a good night's sleep. There was a nice sky bar with good late night food and music. It was nice sit in the bar and enjoy the Pretoria Skyline. There is a pool in the roof. Breakfast was a good spread. It was a nice experience at this hotel.

|8.9km from city centerThis hotel is average at best. We stayed for a night to attend the Backstreet Boys concert so whilst it catered for our needs, it was such an average experience that I think I should have given it a skip (the hotel, not the concert). The good points: friendly staff on check-in and generally good service. The room was comfortable and spotless. The bad points: the bathroom was not nice. Tiny toilet and shower cubicle with pipes that made a huge noise when the hot water was turned on and barely any counter space to keep items from your vanity case. The breakfast was included in the room charge and I was really looking forward to this. But, whilst they had a huge variety, the taste was not good. My omlette was undercooked (the cheese didn't even melt), the pastries were not fresh, bordering on stale and the coffee was really awful. All in all, not a terrible experience because we were there for such a short time but I did expect better and I definitely won't stay there again which is unfortunate because the Sun Bet arena, which is next to the hotel (maybe 100m) seems to be the preferred concert venue these days.

However, the restaurant takes VERY LONG to serve the food. Restaurant plays only pure Afrikaans music, maybe play a popular radio to accommodate everyone. They need someone to monitor noice makers after 10pm and early mornings while others are asleep and resting. Overall, everything else was great!

|7.45km from city centerSeveral of our family from the Cape attended a family wedding in Pretoria and rented 4 apartments at the Regency. The apartments were very nice, clean & comfortable. The Staff members were very friendly especially the security. But unfortunately, there was a few issues especially with warm water and a few minor upkeep maintenances i.e., cupboard doors & drawers loose from hinges, holes in bedroom doors, cracked window etc. Since our arrival Thursday evening, the only time that we had warm water for shower was on Sunday morning. When we arrived Thursday afternoon there was a note in the elevator confirming that the water will be of on Thursday. We asked the agent that accompanied us to our apartments about the water issue and he confirmed that the water supply was on again. Unfortunately, it was only the cold water. Friday we still had no warm water and had to take freezing cold showers in the middle of winter. Saturday morning after several messages, some family members went down to reception to complain. Reception informed them that no one was available to look at the problem. One of our family members is a qualified electrical engineer. He offered to look at the problem. Accompanied by one of the staff members, he found that the warm water element for the apartments side of the building were turned off and that the warm water was only available to the hotel side.

|8.76km from city centerAn amazing place with great rooms, even standard rooms are cosy, beautiful sufficient and practical. Room windows are not boring. In all the rooms I have stayed windows were always looking at an interesting view be it the roundabout with the sculptures, the sunrise lights and mirroring in other buildings, the main-street-looking-at-the-sun ******, or looking down to the pool or to the vibration the restaurants in the _plaza_ exuberate. Not to mention all other general details such as location, etc.

|7.56km from city centerThis place is stunning and the executive rooms are so luxurious, definitely 5 star. Our breakfast was amazing. The pool is also heated which is great for a night swim. The only issue we had is that the AC doesn’t work during loadshedding which makes it difficult to sleep on summer nights. We also didn’t have anything for mosquitoes so opening doors at night was a challenge. Otherwise I would definitely go back!

|2.79km from city centerI booked the Romantic Pamper Getaway for myself for 28-29 December. The booking went smoothly, thank you to Elizabeth in this regard. I booked and paid extra for a picnic lunch on 28 December and specified that I was vegetarian. We arrived at the Lodge and checked in – the process went smoothly. We were asked to choose a spot for our picnic so that they could set up for us. We chose a spot and the blanket and cushions were placed there and we were given the picnic basket which contain a number of boxes each with different food in them. When we unpacked the picnic – the main part of the meal consisted of two chicken rolls, two chicken kebabs and a salmon trout wrap – there was no vegetarian option. There were 2 fruit kebabs, dried fruit in a container with the nuts and biltong, cheeses and four (4) biscuits to eat with the cheeses and two boxes containing a variety of sweet treats. We went for a walk around the lake and discovered a dying duck lying in the flower bed. My friend went back to the restaurant and informed a female manager who initially laughed at him. When he told her he was serious, she mumbled something and walked off. He eventually gave up waiting for any feedback. When we returned to the spot after walking around the dam, the duck was still flaying about in the flower bed. He informed one of the male managers in the restaurant who said he would get someone from maintenance to attend to it. Our room was lovely despite smelling of cigarette smoke when the door was closed, as a result we left the door and windows open whenever we were in the room except when we were sleeping. We had booked for the gin and milkshake experience – I received three mini milkshakes – a peppermint crisp one, a banana one and a chocolate one. The banana one really should have been made with real banana and the chocolate one was terrible. The gin experience consisted of a waiter placing three bottles of gin on the table and informing my friend that he knew the first two (the pink gin and the standard gin) but he didn’t know the third one (the Rooibos gin). My friend was provided with a glass containing ice and a few pieces of fruit into which a single tot of the pink gin was poured along with the pink tonic. The waiter then disappeared then reappeared some time later and poured the standard gin and blue tonic which he again spilled. By the end of the tasting he had spilled each drink he poured and would disappear and return with a cloth to wipe the table. No serviettes were provided at any stage. Thankfully the view made up for the poor tasting experience which is a misnomer as there is no experience – you are just tasting three gins. The television sound was on and was quite loud and this was competing with loud music that was playing too. Can't understand why is such a peaceful setting. At some stage during the afternoon, we were informed that the dinner was not a buffet but a la carte. As I looked through the menu at dinner time I realised that the
