Tang Dynasty Park used to be one of my family favourite hotels in Kota Kinabalu (since I was little). As time goes by, we realized this buliding is getting older yet I don't see any obvious improvement although we came quite often here and lots of construction happening nearby the hotel so let's not include the noise pollution as my reason to give this poor evaluation. Days ago, I booked one night stay at TDP thru bookingbasic.com. Before I reach KK, I call them for confirmation. Everything seems off since then... 1) The receptionist doesn't sounds happy with my call. Oh don't get me wrong, I myself served in hospitality field so I do know what I'm talking about. 2) The room : IS A MESS. I paid RM91 for the room so I won't have any high expectations but as I said earlier, I'm not a first-timer here but this time I feel so sad. The wallpaper......hm. I still can bear that so that's fine. The soap handler is rusty and crooked. The hairdryer hose is not attached to the hairdyer (I don't even have the mood to fix it by myself after seeing that and went straight to the bed lol). The loose sink tap makes me sighed everytime I want to use it. I can see dust on the table clearly. I understand I paid the lowest room rate but how could you let your guest sleep in that kind of unprepared room? At least I would appreciate a kind reminder about the room condition before I went in. Infact, I can get a better room at other place with the same price but I still choose TDP because of the familiarity. My only fault in this case is not directly made a complaint and ask for help that day. My family really loves this place, long time ago. I guess it won't be in the list anymore. (Anyway thank you for the newspaper. I like that part)

Arrived evening around 6pm. Were greet by staff and check in was smooth. The suite room was big enough to stay. Separate living room. Aircond and wifi was good. If u want to take connecting room please choose suite king and superior twin room. They will arrange for u.

The breakfast is quite good, you can scramble your own eggs, and the interior of the Youth Hostel will also prepare hungry noodles, coffee, fried rice and bread. The privacy is very good, that is, there are fewer bathrooms, only two, and it takes a while to queue in the morning. The overall feeling is great! The boss and we are very happy to talk, we will speak Chinese, introduce us to shopping mall and specialty stores, and also call the car to take us.

Note: This store will ”deliberately” charge a tourist tax (this does not happen in other stores). If no evidence is found, it will charge a tourist tax (RM10 per day). Fortunately, I found the paid tax sent to me by the ordering website. Only after passing the tourist tax ”invoice” can you get back the excess tourist tax!

Wao. Great My kids like the Cartoon themed so much. My kids play until don't wish to left the unit. One of the best thing i can order food deliver from they restaurant and eat inside the units. The host Also recommend us to swim at the swimming pool during sunset time. So we have a great time at the swimming pool with nice sun set seaview Also with airplane on top. Of cause the next days we spend sometime to shop with a walking distance to the imago shopping mall.

I stayed here with a friend before my flight back to the Philippines and boy I had the worst time. The hotel is too hidden. Literally at the back of warehouses! The parking was too small and my friend had a hard time finding a good spot. Its a rundown old hotel and OYO took over to give it a more ”modern” feel. There were no complimentary water or even toiletries. Only towels. No telephone inside the room to contact the front desk. No lift. You need to get ready for the stairs. You also need to pay the tourist tax if you are a foreigner but luckily my friend is Malaysian so its under his name. You get what you pay for. If you are on a tight budget and just want to sleep the night out you can just pick this one. You just have to really find it in the busy city and if you are not familiar, try Waze or Google maps. It helped us get to there.

Got same room like in this picture. So far everything is well. Clean, complete facilities and got qiblat label for pray but not all the lights is working. Need to be careful if bring your children because the furniture mostly from glass and the parking area is not free.

Decided to try this capsule since I was travelling alone + had great experience staying capsule hotels throughout Japan. Good location, rather central, Starbucks & convenience store just downstairs. Paid an average of just S$11 per night, great value considering breakfast is included, though a simple one with bread/ jam spreads/ instant coffee. Washing machine free to use, but your clothes are never really dry since its cramped together with someone else’s wet laundry next morning. The capsules themselves are made from cheap plastic, squeaks loudly every time you move, absolutely nothing like those I stayed througouht Japan, plus the blue themed lights made it even harder to sleep. Wi-fi signal is pretty bad from within the capsule. Spent 3 nights here before moving to the newly built 5-star Marriott across the street.

The apartment is more comfortable than the hotel. First, there is good air circulation. Second, there is space for children. Third, they can cook by themselves. It is very convenient for shopping and grocery shopping. You need to swipe your card to come in downstairs. There are two doors without worrying about safety. The aunt has a friendly cleaning attitude. There is a bar street on the opposite side of the apartment, and you can watch the sunset. It rained that day and the burning clouds after sunset were so beautiful! NaNa people are very nice, we can check out at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on our plane at night, and also printed out the information for us, which is very recommended!

the room is okay for the price.. but the heater in the bathroom is broken, the heater used to make hot water is also broken.. when I come to the counter it will be checked.. even when I woke up, there was still no check.. There is no heater to heat the water to drink because everything is broken.. I have to take a cold shower and drink cold water..😔

I really like this youth hostel. It has just opened. The hardware and facilities are all new. The transportation is very convenient. It is very close to the pier and shopping malls. It can be reached in a few minutes on foot. The staff service is also very good. I stayed here for several days. , very comfortable, will go again next time!

Highly recommended in Kota Kinabalo cheap, Clean and modern, has laundry area just bring your detergent. Good for long term if you’re always out this is no window hotel. The room is good for 3 people the bed is spacious and it has other extra bed which made it more space in the room. The staffs are nice theyre helpful and always ready to help whenever their helped needed. It’s easy to check in you just need to message them via WhatsApp they have their number in the details you will see it after you will book the place. Message them in advance before you arrived atleast a day or hour. Don’t go there without messaging them because they have no lobby. They will send via WhatsApp on how you self check in. The building has a mall so it has restaurants local and western, other asian restaurants, bar, has convenient store, bakery and many more. This is our second stay at king park, last trip was about 7 years ago. We feel very welcomed by the friendly staffs, the hotel is quiet, clean and cosy, the overall service and stay quality is maintained well as per our last stay, we are happy with it. We also love the breakfast buffet, it has improved from the last trip, simple yet very delicious. The only part we would like to bring out is the shower water will spill over to the toilet bowl area, hope this can be improved. The hotel is within 5-10min walking distance to ***a street with lots of nice eateries, or you may take grab which cost only RM5.

Ok to be short, the pillows smelled very bad, the toilet was blocked and Wifi is not working. The worst hotel i’ve ever been in my life. Very aged, like the whole city of Kota Kinabalu everything is a big short (fake) don’t trust positive reviews. It looks like Chinese motel back in ‘70. I am disgusted, I never left a bad review in my life, I’m very open mind, I’ve been living in houseshare with more than 10 people in London but this is too much.

The location are superb. Its very convenience because near 7E, Orange, restaurant and big mall. Easy to find food and things needed even late night. The only thing is the bed are suit only for 1 person while I'm book for 2 person and the room are not soundproof. By the way, everything is ok and excellent. I enjoyed staying in this hotel. The view from the hotel is ruined by the building site next door but it is reasonably priced for the area. Service was one of the poorest I’ve had in Malaysia apart from Gulam (Matt) who was a massive help for us to get to places we wanted to see. The staff at the upstairs pool didn’t want to be there and weren’t interested in serving, a smile is free and short snappy sentences don’t help in this industry- maybe some retraining is needed if this place wants to compete with the nearby luxury hotels. The express laundry service was difficult to arrange and I felt like I was putting a burden on them even though that’s their job. The breakfast was okay without being outstanding - again, the people making the breakfast looked like they were there because they needed to be. Without Gulam (Matt), this review would look a lot worse. This guy should be in charge of customer service lessons for this hotel. The room was clean and big but the view started straight into a brick wall of a loading bay. There aren’t maybe pictures as there wasn’t much worthy of taking one.

The hotel room which I stayed was very confortable, with wide space, big bed, clean bedsheets and near to eating places and also near to the airport. Initially I was afraid the noise from the airplanes may disturb my sleep as my room was facing on the left side of the building, but to my surprise I did not hear planes flying so I was happy that I didn't experience any noise to disturb my tranquility. The only con is there is no restaurant in the hotel so my breakfast came as a bento like box takeaway. No coffee also, the coffee is available in the room but is chargeable. Only the tea bags are free. The parking is multi-storeyed and managed electronically. You put your car into the car lift and it is then parked automatically one car at a time. To retrieve your car, you need to scan your hotel card for it to be brought down via the car lift again. It may be time consuming if you are in a hurry and there are a few people in the queue before you.

Overall this place was ok. Location wise it was superb but nothing is or will ever be perfect. I strongly suggest the hotel doesn’t provide chipped cups as we hv kids with us. The tv doesn’t work even tho they claimed tat it does. We’ve tried all channels nothing works. Last but not least d pool is great but too much chlorine in d water even after 3 washes my hair is still dry n tangly. Other than tat it was ok

The location of the hotel is very convenient for travel. It is next to the Kota Kinabalu Central Market, the handicraft market and the night market. It is a 10-minute walk to Gaya Street and a 20-minute walk to the Jeston Pier. The room facilities are a bit old but clean and tidy. The boss is very nice and helped us to get the Grab car to the airport.

The hotel is located at the city centre, you can easily to find food and supermarkets by just walking distance. The morning breakfast cafe is full of guests during my stay, not easy to find a seat and breakfast full of variety choices but mostly repeat the same foods. Room cleaning can be improved especially the room carpet look bit dusty but the hotel provided the look slippers to wear in room that’s fine with me. One last thing, the hotel management should change the bath towel to new one as it look unpleasant for guests to use.

Great place in an amazing location. Stayed in both a very comfortable double room and in a dorm/pod which had excellent facilities. The WiFi was bettered by the three PCs adjacent to the excellent reception which proved invaluable for research and booking. Highly recommended.

An excellent stay again. Reception are friendly and helpful. Room are extremely Clean. I love my room. Important thing is this hotel room toilet using WATER SPRAY (MUSLIM FRIENDLY). This hotel is attached to shopping mall. Convenient. Many eateries too. Breakfast have many choices to fill your empty stomach. This restaurant coffee are excellent. ONE IMPROVEMENT NEEDED : Hope they will consider serving fruits too during breakfast.
