There were 38 floors which was impressive and the room was big and bright. The beds were comfy and the TV had YouTube and Netflix with many other channels.
However, there was some dust on the cupboards and the sofa bed needed money to be turned into a bed. There were many food places near the hotel as well. But go to Anping, Garden night market or Da Tung night market need to take taxi.
Overall, Shangri-La Far Eastern Tainan was enjoyable for my family.

We also like the food at the breakfast buffet, very delicious and worth the price. There were also free biscuits and coffee outside Just Cafe in the lobby.
The staff were very friendly and nice too! Though the location is a bit off the main road, it is just next to Ten Drum Cultural Village which we could walk over easily.

I am finally headed back to the US, but this little compact and quaint hotel had grown on me so much. As a business executive who used to travel worldwide staying at different 5 star hotels pre-Covid, I rarely feel motivated to leave a review, unless i get super upset by something. Except a few selfish guests that smoked in the room next to mine, my stay was so immaculate that 5 months just flew by. It was definitely my “home away from home” as I spent most of my time in Tainan holed up in my room working day and night. The mattress and pillows were very comfy and the room provided everything a typical business traveler would need. The WiFi could be faster but I had no issue tethering 4G from my phone for video calls. The Western breakfast choice for complimentary breakfast was tasty enough for me to have the same thing consecutively for 3 weeks straight once. Next time I am back to Tainan solo, I will not hesitate to call the friendly and caring front desk up and request my room 602 back. See you next time, everyone! Thank you for taking exceptional care of me. TL;DR: highly recommended by a picky traveler. You def get your money’s worth.

He brought us a long storage cupboard. had to cover the shower drains after shower to prevent insects getting in & sewage smell. we still smelled scant of sewage even drains were covered. convenient to railway station, eateries and especially close by market very busy on weekend with lots of foods etc etc.

There are many hotels nearby, and transportation into the city is not very convenient unless you drive yourself. Leave the station. The expressway is very far away. It is at the end of Tainan City. There is no view on the 3rd to 7th floors. The low windows are only as high as the home next door. The facilities in the room are worse than ordinary motels. There is no hot water in the shower and it is only 40 degrees. The warm water on the left and right side reflected in the hotel and the only answer was that the constant temperature could not be adjusted, and there were very few breakfast items. I often go back to Tainan and have stayed at Yuanqi Shangri-La, Dayi Landis, Taiwan Sugar Evergreen, Tianxia Hotel, Holiday Motel, etc... .With the price in Taibang (I bought it for 2999 at the travel show), I was very disappointed after staying. It cannot be compared with other high-end hotels and can only be regarded as a new business hotel. The only advantage is: there is no increase in price during holidays, but you have to book a room. .
