We are a family of 4 and spent last night at the Embassy. We were very impressed with the lobby and the front desk staff. The front desk staff member - Sean helped set us up with a great room before we arrived and Clarence greeted us once we got there. The lobby was busy but we were able to get an elevator quickly. The room was on the 10th floor and had great views of downtown. It was spacious and had updated decor. The beds were very comfortable and the room was super clean. The toiletries in the shower smelled so good as well. The only downfall was the lack of room service and food options in the hotel itself, but this wasn’t the hotels fault. You can easily walk across the street or around the corner and grab food to bring it in. I would definitely recommend this hotel when traveling to Knoxville.

When I called the night prior to my arrival to confirm that my name had been added to a reservation for a large block of rooms, I learned there had been a hiccup. After my call was handed off from one associate to another, I was pleased to find that I was speaking to Raven who quickly made the correction. She was engaging and her sparkling personality transmitted beautifully over the phone. When the call was concluded I was assured that there would be no problem with check-in. When I arrived the next evening, I had the pleasure of having her check me in and she remembered me with a smile! Having worked in the hospitality industry at a luxury hotel a few decades ago, I recognize superior guest service. In a world of fading guest/customer service, it is important to recognize that there are some exceptional associates who exude hospitality authentically. Please share my compliments and thanks to Raven. On another note, the room was squeaky clean and the bed super comfy! Should I visit your great city again in the future, your hotel will be my first choice.

We really enjoyed this hotel! We did an overnight stay to attend a concert at the coliseum. It was so great to park our car & be able to walk all around downtown Knoxville! This isn’t the closest hotel to the coliseum but it’s still a pretty easy/short walk! Market square is literally down a flight of stairs & behind the hotel! Every staff person we talked to was very friendly! We had a really nice chat with an older gentleman who worked for the hotel outside! The rooms were clean & spacious! My only complaint is that none of the tv channels on the channel guide worked, except for maybe one or two! (Not a big deal, just more of a nice to have!) we found the bed & pillows to be very comfortable & the hotel & our room to be clean! We will def stay here again when we come to downtown Knoxville!

This hotel has all the makings for a premier city hotel: location, being adjacent to the convention center, as well as downtown restaurants and more; the appearance is very nice, from the lobby to the room itself; and the staff shows that approach to service one looks for when traveling. All of this and more, and it sounds like we are headed for a nice quality stay: But not so fast…. The Good: The lobby is simply beautiful, with clean modern lines, but still giving that welcoming feel. The front desk help was simply amazing: Abbi and Abbey were genuinely friendly, knowledgeable and prompt: Enjoyed my conversation with them, and the valuable information learned. And of course there’s Ed, an older “guest relations”type gentleman, who greets everyone with a complimentary glass of champagne; and somehow remembers the names of each and everyone he speaks too; remarkable. The rooms are modern and inviting; even the bathrooms have a nice upscale feel to them. So far, I’m overly impressed, especially in this price range…. But The Bad: Not a deal breaker, but when opting to pay more for a room with a view, we didn’t exactly get one from our 3rd floor room. A friend of ours booked a normal room, and ended up on the 5th floor with a view; and for much less money. Feels like paying for an upgrade is a waste of money. Also: Off n on during the night, emergency vehicles were blasting up n down Henley Street with the sirens blaring. I certainly understand being in the city, you’d expect this on a normal basis; but the walls of the hotel certainly showed their thinness. These sirens were very loud, and we weren’t even in a room facing Henley. This isn’t the fault of the hotel, but still worth noting. And then there’s the $28 fee for valet parking(no self parking). It just seems a bit much in my opinion. The valet guys do a nice job, so I’d rather tip them more, as to see the hotel charge this much. The Ugly: I hate to find anything that qualifies as a deal breaker, but… We returned from dinner, and couldn’t get the tv to tune in: I’m not sure why it said “no signal or connection”… No big deal, as we were worn out from all the youth basketball games we attended, but it would’ve been nice to at least watch a few mins of something. But the one major letdown I cannot overlook, was an A/C unit malfunction. We woke up to a pool of sweat, and called the front desk. The gentleman showed up, looked at it, and said he could have engineering look at it at 7am. Well, not sure what he thought we’d do for sleep, as it was simply too hot to just doze on off: And strangely and disappointingly, no one ever followed up the next day. Of course this type of hotel design doesn’t have windows that can be used for ventilation, so there was no relief period. I don’t think either of us rested much if any, so it pretty much ruined the entire stay. Things happen, but maybe an offer to move us to another room, which wasn’t an easy task in the middle of the night,

Janice, formerly known as ”Strephanie the Old Fashioned Queen” provided service, attention, and delicious drinks to a degree that most hotel bartenders would dare to travel to. Janice had looks. Janice had sex appeal. Janice was punctual, most of the time. However Janice had skills that would put East Tennessee's best bartenders to shame. Her attention to detail was undeniable as seen in the large, delicious, smooth ice balls in my old fashioneds. I once saw a man walk up to Janice, hold his empty wine glass up to her, and say, ”more please.” Janice filled his glass promptly, way past where I would've filled it, and accepted a $56 tip. Great work, Janice, for an average Pinot Grigio. That guy was a total tool, though. Janice was ”Bright as a Button” and her smile radiates throughout the bar...and my dreams. I'll miss you, Janice. I booked this property based on its proximity to the North Knoxville Medical Center where a family member is undergoing treatment for several days. The price for two nights for a single king room at the senior citizen rate came in at $250.22. It was the July 4th weekend so maybe the price was warranted, but not for this property. Reasons: First room walked into had a glob of blood in the shower. Exchanged room was worn with the cover to the AC control on the floor. TV did not work properly. Sign gave directions how to fix it. Rooms did not have daily cleaning service if you stayed multiple days. Electrical plugs for desk not conveniently located. Breakfast was coffee, juice, Jimmy Dean Biscuit and yogurt. This property does not live up to my past experiences with IHG venues. Not recommended.

We have stayed here many times over the years and it was never great, but it was affordable and relatively clean. There have been sketchy people in the parking lot and in the hotel for at least ten years, but no one ever bothered us. Our last stay (and this was definitely our LAST STAY) was on September 3, 2021. The guy at the front desk seemed upset that we were there. He put us in a room without a balcony on the first floor. Before we went to the room I went back to the desk and said I had requested a high floor with a balcony and that request had always been met over a many-year span. I had also booked a pet-free and non-smoking room as I always do. He put us in a room on the second floor. It reeked of cigarette smoke and pets and the room had obviously been saturated in some chemical air freshener trying to cover the smells. It was late and we had driven over 500 miles so we opened the balcony door to air out the room and thought that would work. It did not. My husband had a terrible allergy attack at 2:00 am, trouble breathing, etc. We had to sleep with the door open all night to try and avoid the smells, got very little sleep with the freeway noise and all the people who hang out in the parking lot all night. The smell had permeated my pillow to the extent I had to put a towel over the pillow and another over my face to block the terrible smells. There were cigarette ashes in the nightstand drawer! And dog feces on the balcony! Also cigarette butts on the balcony. It was unbelievable. When we checked out the next morning, the very same guy who checked us in was at the front desk in the very same clothes. I told him our complaints expecting he would apologize and comp our room. He just looked at me, made no apology, and finally said, ”Do you NEED anything else?” Unbelievable. We will never stay here again after being loyal customers for years.

Staying here was a accident by a intern who makes arrangements for my stays , as a biochemist with the cdc , got into town at night , travel over 200 days a year , and I can honestly say , this was one of the dirtiest stays I have experienced, went back on choice to review pictures, I have no idea , where those pictures came from , but the room I stayed in , didn’t look any thing like the pictures, first and foremost, the bedding was dirty , smoke holes in the bedding, the floors were dirty, the bathroom room was so dirty your shoes stuck to the floor, the bathroom actually had mold around the ceiling, towels smelled as if not clean with soap , the furniture looked like came from a thrift store , they doors in room looked like some one tried to break in , as I said with the cdc , you mr Patel ( general manager) are not following procedures of cleanliness due to hotel standards, I can’t believe you go home to what you expect people that pay you for a night stay , i noticed the can responds you submit to other reviews, complaining of what I just spoke of , please don’t disrespect or insult my intelligence by what you say to others about how you apologize and will correct the issues, because this is what you offer , and no plans of change , as a diamond member of choice , I plan on contracting corporate of what I experienced and saw !!!

This was our first time staying at a Tru, and I have to say that I love this brand! The room was simple, but provided everything we needed. It was spotlessly clean, and had plenty of storage. The hotel has a casual vibe and encourages social time in the lobby. There's a pool table and plenty of games to occupy your time. There are plenty of places to sit and hang out. Drinks (including wine and beer) and snacks were available. Breakfast is included and more than just continental. Pancakes, sausage, and eggs were available as well. The employees were kind and helpful. The check-in and check-out process was a breeze. We will definitely stay here (or at another Tru) again.

This was definitely one of the most amazing stays of my two week vacation. The hotel is immaculate. The room was spotless. Most importantly, the room was extremely comfortable and clean. I particularly liked how comfortable the bed was. I had a most comfortable nights rest at this hotel. I was bothered by a couple of the guests who showed up for the free complimentary breakfast at 9 AM. They were complaining about there being no milk available. Something about their air of entitlement really irked me. We are told that it is a free complimentary breakfast. Therefore, it is my belief that we should be thankful for what is available, when it is available, and if this couple were so concerned about what what was not available for the complimentary breakfast, then why did they show up at the last minute? They should’ve been there at 6 o’clock in the morning when the breakfast buffet opened if it was that important to them. One member of this coupling was so obsessed about the milk, they were walking up and down the halls talking to the other guests about there being no milk. I think this person had other issues going on besides missing milk.

We stayed for 2 nights to attend the University of Tennessee graduation. The location was ideal with easy off/on from the interstate and just a few minutes from the arena. Cleanliness: We found our room and the hotel overall to be clean. They are not doing daily room service, but you can request extra towels, etc whenever needed. Food: The hotel offered breakfast for a small fee. The price was more than read for the value with made-to-order eggs, omelettes, French toast, and more. There was also a variety of fresh fruit, cereal, muffins, and breads (bagels, etc). Price: the room rate was on the high side, but given UT graduation and all the other events taking place the same weekend, it wasn’t unreasonable. We will not hesitate to return for the next graduation.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Hotel for graduation at UT. The hotel is new, modern, and beautiful. The room was spacious with a huge walk in shower that included a low shelf to make shaving your legs easy. We had an Eastern exposure and they had automatic darkening blinds and ones that filtered the light. The staff was very helpful, especially the woman who served breakfast. Great patio with seating and fire pits. There was a gorgeous pool are and fitness room. The staff handled the huge crown attending the graduations with aplomb. Why pay more to stay downtown when you can pay less and have access to great food and shopping.

Townplace Suites is usually a safe choice when needing a hotel while traveling. It has happened twice now that I select a TS feeling pretty confident that it will be a comfortable, enjoyable stay and it ends up falling very short of that expectation. The bed and “mattress” on the pullout are in terrible condition and should have been replaced long ago. I’m not sure if this was another hotel brand and then acquired by Marriott & Townplace Suites but it definitely does not meet the expectation if you are used to staying in better properties. Bathroom and kitchen cabinetry need to be updated. And their is a distinctive smell that I can’t quite put my finger on. To use the pullout, it touches the end of the 1 queen bed with the horrible mattress. Positives? It appeared clean for the most part. The linens used for the pullout were clean. We used the oven with no issues, although we were a bit concerned. To choose a Townplace Suites should not be hit or miss. I didn’t even read the previous reviews. Lesson learned. I’m torn between 2 or 3 stars because the quality of rest is poor.
