I spent in Seiryu Kibako one night in September before hiking Mt Kumotori. The hostel is very clean, it is nicely decorated and it conserves a traditional Japanese style. The staff was very helpful. The man at the reception helped to check the local train schedule to Oku-tama station, the bus to the starting point of my hike and even the local weather forecast. I would definetly recommend this hostel to all the mountaneers visiting the area.

I stay in quite a few hotels in Japan, but this is a first for me. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from JR Tachikawa Station. On the walk from the station to the hotel, there lots of convenience stores and places to eat. The hotel is situated close to the Hotel Nikko as well. However, this hotel is much cheaper and good for the money. No problems with check in, I thought I heard Staff speaking English, but I used Japanese. Initially, I was checked into a single room, but honestly it looked bigger. Very nice room, very cosy. Please see pictures. Had an issue with noise with the people next door. The TV was very loud and also it sounded like there was something else going on. So, impossible to relax, I complained about the noise. I wouldn’t say the walls are too thin, the guests next door, were LOUD. Called the front desk again, and said I wanted a new room. Within 10 minutes they had moved me to a twin, but much larger room. (Please see pictures). Not my ideal situation, but I guess the staff thought I would like the bigger room, with bigger bathroom. After that, it was all good. Someone said breakfast was not so good here? In my opinion, it was very good for a hotel of this price. I’ve had much worse breakfasts from bigger chains. The breakfast area is quite big and opens from 06:30. In my opinion, again, a good hearty breakfast with salad, Japanese options and Western style as well. Good coffee too. I think this hotel has vending machines and microwaves on 3 floors. Also, I know they have a coin laundry but I cannot say how many machines and on what floors. Just so you know, there are plenty of places to eat and drink in the area. Also, if you go under the railway, you will find more places as well, including department stores. Would I stay here again? Absolutely, for personal stays, when I’m looking for something for 1-2 nights, I would stay in a “My Stay” in a heartbeat. I hope their other hotels, are of this standard. Overall, very good value and comfortable for what you pay. I look forward to staying with them again.

Check in process was standard. I arrived a little early, transferring from another hotel, and my room was not yet available. I did show up a few hours before check in time, but as standard in business hotels in Japan, they did not offer me access to the room early. I was able to store my luggage and it was waiting in my room when I checked in later and got access to the room. I booked a smoking room but it didn't seem to book correctly and I was given a non-smoking room. The hotel had no issue changing it after the first night, even offering to move my packed bags from one room to another. The non-smoking room was smaller than the smoking room, but it could be because the smoking room had two beds versus one. The rooms on the smoking floor used actual keys instead of the keycards on the other floors. Room was fine, typical of a Japanese business hotel, so on the smaller side. No pants press or ironing board in the room, however, it was located in the vending machine/ice room. Odd location for it, the ironing board wasn't in very good shape but it worked fine with the iron. I didn't like this setup, personally, and wouldn't recommend this for business travelers on extended stays that might need to use the iron. Besides that, everything was clean, the lobby was nice, the location was only a few minutes away from the train station, many options to eat and shop in the area. I would say that this building is fairly tired and needs a refresh, but everything in it still worked fine.

Situated in the heart of Fussa and immediately adjacent to the Fussa train station, the hotel provides easy access to Tokyo’s robust train system. Numerous restaurants, bars, and clubs are located within a couple of blocks to meet dining and entertainment needs. Also, For U.S. military personnel, Yokota Air Base is only a short walk away. As with nearly every place in Japan, service is outstanding. The breakfast buffet is small and only includes a limited variety of traditional Japanese food, but I found it entirely adequate. Rooms are small, but we’re clean and adequate for me. However, be sure to bring a Type 2 (3 prong) plug adapter to power your grounded electrical devices as there are only two power outlets in the room and both are Type 1 (2 prong). With rooms priced as low as $68/night, the Toyoko Inn is a pleasant bargain. I look forward to my next visit.

I visited Japan for 3 days and changed 3 hotels in different regions. This one is the best. The staff at the front desk are very kind and gave breakfast. The New Year spent here is full of TV programs and the lobby is also Decorated with many New Year decorations, very delicious in the morning, both Western and Western styles, a washing machine on the first floor is convenient for washing clothes, the room is comfortable and the scenery is good, and the JR family bus station bakery is downstairs. Bought it, and the next day brought cash downstairs and the bakery was closed for the new year.) There is also a shopping mall McDonald's not far from the hotel. It is very convenient to live here for a few days.

The location of this hotel is a little ways from the heart of Tokyo, so I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who isn't working in the area or who has a specific reason to base themselves from this hotel. They offer a free shuttle from the Akishima train station, which is a great service to offer, even though the hotel isn't a very far walk from the train station, maybe five minutes. Check in was efficient after getting to the hotel. The lobby has pleasant views. Room is very large by Japanese standards. The hotel was fully booked for the entirety of my stay, so I ended up in a room with two beds. There was a desk, table with two chairs, a large (for Japan) bathroom, and a mini refrigerator stocked with drinks. The drinks were provided for free and refilled daily, which was a very nice touch. The room was clean and well maintained, very quiet. There isn't too much in the area, although the shuttle takes you up to the train station where they have a mall, movie theater, and many restaurants. I did not have breakfast in the hotel, so I can't comment on that. As far as location, I was staying for work - this is definitely one of the better hotels in the area, I don't think there are many options better in this area, at least until heading towards Tachikawa. It's a little too far from Shinjuku for me to recommend this hotel if you don't have work or plans in the area, but I would definitely stay here again with no complaints if I am traveling for work here.
