1.49km from TenshinkenI went to Japan N times. This time I went to Beppu to book this Japanese-style hotel with breakfast and dinner. The room is very large and there is an open-air hot spring. The room was clean and tidy and the waiters were very welcoming. The breakfast is plentiful and the variety is varied. Dinner is a Japanese dish, and there is still plenty to eat and eat. It is especially memorable that the open-air hot springs in the room are very special. It is the best time I have gone to Japan to experience the hot springs. The hot springs in other places cannot be compared with this one. The water temperature is suitable. The hot spring water seems to be clear, but the texture is pasted. After the bubble, the body is slippery and comfortable. Very close to the Eighth Hell. Go to Beppu next time, or choose this one. There is free parking.

1.55km from TenshinkenStayed in couple of different onsen hotels in beppu area in the past several years and this, to me, is an average/below standard hotel. It is located at the side of a main road and you can hear when ambulances or police trucks are passing by at night. To make thing worse, our main door is crashed by something in the middle of the night, creating loud noise waking us up. We just are not sure if the door is crashed by a drunk man, the wind or something else. But this is enough for us to worry!! Is there somebody trying to break into the room? Is the hotel safe, really? Anyhow, don’t think we would be returning to this hotel again in the future. One point to add by the way, most of the private bath which guests can use are extremely small except the one which is outdoor and located on the left of the lobby entrance. If you want to try, try this one and it shall be enough.
1.61km from TenshinkenNo meal style RYOKAN.very cheaps but good stay.
1.65km from TenshinkenThe breakfast and dinner are very generous, and the portion is generous; there is a certain distance from Beppu station, but there is a direct bus, right next to Sunwara station; there is an underground parking lot; the air is very good, and the front desk staff can speak English but not Chinese. It’s 1-3 kilometers away from Beppu’s Hachiyu. Because it’s a mountain road, it’s a long walk. The taxi costs 640-1180 yen.
1.66km from TenshinkenI really liked this place. It was easy to get there by bus from Beppu station, just about 15 minutes. Staff members were really nice and helpful as always. I had a Japanese style room with a private rotenburo and I really loved it. Room was really big and view from my bath over the city was great. Public baths were also good in this hotel. Hotel bar was a bit old but it was still a nice place. I was the only customer that evening so I talked with the lady who was working there for a couple of hours and had a great time.
1.69km from TenshinkenThe breakfast and dinner are all served in the room, the waiter's grandmother will come together to eat, and the bed will be served at night. There are very few rooms in the whole hotel. In the evening, you can go to the soup, just a soup. If you go in and lock the door, others will not go in. The room is very big and very Japanese.
Hotels Near Tenshinken In Beppu Review
A small and cozy hostel but our family room was large. There was a fridge, kitchenette and even a dining table in the room. Free juices, coffee and tea at the lobby. Fuss-free check out. We had a great time! I suggest to update the hostel contact number on all hotel booking sites. We had some problem to locate the hostel using GPS in our rented car.
Great location a few hundred yards from the station. There’s good onsite parking if you need it, large and pleasant reception and lounge and good Wi-Fi. The hotel also has its own Onsen which we didn’t have time to use but which we understood was really good. The bedrooms were a bit dated but large and comfortable as were the beds. The TVs were small with only local stations available. The small en-suite looked and felt as though the entire thing including floors, walls, ceiling, door and fittings, had been provided as a drop in unit but is all functioned well enough and the heated mirror above the sink was a welcome feature. The WC itself was the usual Japanese creation incorporating both loo and bidet with heated seat - very unusual but you soon get used to it. The bed linen and duvets were very good but the towels were pretty small and had been laundered to within a millimetre of their useful working life. Breakfast was mainly Japanese but saved by a good egg station. The staff were very pleasant and several had good English.
Rate is little too high, but room is cozy and clean. A charge of onsen tax was imposed regardless using the service or not. Although the charge is small (150 Yen per person) but the principle of the way the charge imposed is not right, should have addressed its policy during booking. A walking distance of around 8 to 10 minutes from JR Station. Except a convenient store located across the street and a public onsen close by, there is absolutely nothing nearby the hotel within a 300 m circle.
The lobby is elegant and retro, and the breakfast is Japanese style and very hearty. Even people like me who do not have breakfast eat a lot. The service staff is very attentive, the service awareness is strong, and the attitude is kind. The 8-tatami Japanese-style sea view room for three people is slightly smaller, but the scenery is very good. You can see the sea and the rising sun by opening the curtains in the morning. Although the downstairs is the road, the double-glazed balcony is very thick and soundproof. The room facilities are all there, it is slightly outdated, but this hotel is one of the cheapest in terms of price, and the location is good, so the overall cost performance is still ok. The only thing that I think should be improved is that the sleeping cushion is a little thin and asleep a little hard, which affects the rest a little. The hotel is a 10-12 minute walk from the station, there is a big shop next to it, it's pretty good, the shop's underground supermarket is rich in variety and cheap. There is a bus downstairs to the sea hell and Tielun Hot Spring.
The service at the front desk was very good. I caught the rain and asked my boss for a plastic bag and a paper tote. Several nearby hot springs are within walking distance, and free coffee and disposable toiletries are provided in the hotel lobby for guests to use when visiting the hot springs outside. I went to the sand bath hot spring, 1050 yen, 15 minutes of sand bath, waited back and forth, and sweated for an hour after coming out, and also eat local pudding. The hotel is near Beppu Station. The distance is 100 meters. The next day, I took a bus to Beppu Hell Hot Springs. I bought a pass for 2,000 yen and walked down for about 2 hours.
Beautiful sea view on the balcony and the living room. Fantastic live jazz performance in the bar. The best is the hot spring in the public room as well as in the balcony. Friendly and helpful staff (except the incident below). However, the good experience was ended, unfortunately with a small incident, which negatively impact our mood. Here's the incident. In the last day of our 2-day stay, we checked out early at around 7am, to catch a shuttle bus at 7:15am. So we went to the restaurant and kindly requested a breakfast take-out. We're greeted by a lady who speak Chinese, as we are from China (however I can speak fluent English with other staff) . This lady behaved very impolitely and impatiently to our requests. She objected our requests without explanation and apologies. What she said is that the hotel has rules not to take out food from the buffet restaurant, although we explained our tight schedule and only requested a couple pieces of bread, which we paid for in our bill. She didn't try to solve guests' problems and meet our appropriate needs. I think she does not represent the average service standard in this hotel. In the end, I don't have time to argue and just left. I hope the management can face the problem and improve the experience, especially for international guests in the future.
