Just after Roma tremini came out of the platform, walk to the right and you can see it as soon as you leave the train station. Although the entire room is a little old, it is clean and comfortable, and the equipment may be a bit old, but it feels good to see the hotel as soon as the train station comes out, which is also convenient for the place in Rome. You can also see the termini station exit through the window of the room, which is very convenient for taking off the next day. I used "walk" to complete my trip to Rome, so I walked from the hotel to the Colosseum and other places, or I can use the subway for 1.5 euros to go anywhere. There is a Chinese restaurant nearby. The "Chongqing Impression" Chinese restaurant Roman restaurant is in the previous lane, which is very convenient. Breakfast is OK, you can use it yourself, the space is spacious and comfortable, it is a good choice for travelers who want to eat. This one is highly recommended. Will come again next time. Let's face it,you are looking at this hotel because you want to save some money while staying in Rome. This review I decided to do at an9ther format-first a small tip,and then pros and cons.. The first thing I want to say is that if you do not know where it is,it will be hard to find. There is a little farmacy at the back of Termini station, and right across from it is the tunnel that leads to Tokyo hotel. There is almost no signs indicating its existence, you need to go into the building across from Termini and there you will see a sign-tokyo hotel,4th floor. Pros: Helpful receptionist, with decent English, drew us a map, gave us helpful tips The lady cleaned the rooms every day Free wi fi Water is drinkable Cons: First day the room was super disgusting, probably because it wasn't used for long The curtain fell on us when we tried to open it(but the lady fixed it without any fuss) Because it is adjacent to Terministation,it was super loud all night There was like a draft or something and when somebody opened the other rooms doors, your own door had a little slam as if someone is entering your premises You can hear everything happening in the other rooms and corridor

1 Before our trip I asked if we could drop our luggage before check-in time. Also I indicated approx. arrival time. Answer - Yes. 2 After over 24 hrs overseas trip we landed in front of the business. No-one answered the bell. We had to take our luggage to a business nearby to have them stored for few hours (12 euro). 3 We tried again during declared check-in time. No-one was there. At that time we had no Italian SIM card yet. Luckily next door there is another "hotel". The receptionist phoned the contact number - our host is coming (was in a coffee shop). 15 minutes later our receptionist arrived and showed us the room. 4 The room was of a size of a single prison cell, two bunk-beds, TV. Unimpressed we agreed to see another room nearby. (Not mentioned in an offer). 5 It was a whole "apartment" - large room with two beds, wardrobes etc. Bathroom, "kitchen". WiFi and a new fridge in a hall. All - stage one before a major renovation. Yet we accepted it as a better option. 6 It was noisy in the evening due to a popular restaurant below and traffic. 7 Day two - no water, apparently to be fixed in two hours. It was close to 24 hours without water in the toilet-bathroom. After that, no major problems. ---------------------- Just behaviour of that gentleman from Bangladesh disqualifies the property from the market. Avoid, there is plenty of other rooms for slightly more money.

If you have a couple of days to spend in Rome and are free to walk around then this may be a place you would want to try. The room was dated, but CLEAN. The wifi was excellent. The Staff were SUPER helpful. The area around Termini station looks sketchy, but is safe. Hotel has a deal with Cafe Fondi for breakfast - and it was great as well. Nearby laundry service. Dont expect the Sheraton - but if you want a clean room to serve as a "homebase" while you look around Rome go for it.

The hotel is an old-fashioned building, the rooms are small, the bathrooms are not small, in the old streets of the Roman city, very close to the Rome Termini station, and walked a few tens of meters from the station. It is very convenient to have trains at the airport, trains to other cities in Italy, and subways. Hotel facilities are slightly old, good health, breakfast is Western food, the full range. Our twin room has a double bed and a single bed and should accommodate three people.

Hotel Mirage is literally across the street from the Side Entrance to the Termini Station. The price is very reasonable for such a great location. The room is average for around the Termini Station. Functional. The Breakfast is a few rolls and jelly. The Breakfast Room is pleasant as is the wait staff. I found that the front desk was helpful enough considering the low cost. I was ill in bed one full day. This made me grateful for being close to the Termini Station and all of the stores in Termini (grocery, pharmacy, etc). Getting to our train to the airport was a breeze even though I was recovering from being ill. If you want a Hilton Hotel type accommodations, then stay at the Best Western down the street as did our friends from home. But they paid about 3x as much as we did with no breakfast and a longer walk to the Termini Station.

The room is furnished with old and detached, luggage storage is not safe, it is not free. Facing the left side of the railway station, the environment is dirty, there are many people, and it is not safe to go out at night. On the right side of the street, the environment is bright, the streets are wide, and there are almost no refugees or hawkers. You must pay attention when booking a hotel.

Veronica is the perfect host. Whilst in Rome my boyfriend proposed to me and Veronica went completely out of her way to make it so incredibly special. She went above and beyond any expectation of my friends and family when they reached out and asked for her help by bringing to our room; champagne, roses and some amazing food. 47 Steps is so well cared for, it’s so clean and tidy and the facilities are great. The bathroom is particularly nice and the shower is amazing! It is perfectly situated - really easy to find and great transport links. We were also able to check in early which was a huge help - plus it was fast and easy. This is a perfect place to stay in Rome and I would highly recommend it to anyone Thank you so much Veronica!

This is the worst experience I've ever had traveling over 30+ years. This is NOT a hotel or "guest house". This is a low rent apartment converted to rooms. Dark and dingy. There's no sound proofing between walls, so any little noise is amplified. Was yelled at and mistreated at check in for questioning additional city tax and asking for further information which was NOT stated in my confirmation emails. I even pulled up all my emails to show the receptionist that it stated paid in full. He wasn't able to explain anything, so he put Anna on the phone, who started to aggressively yell at me. It wasn't until nearly 20 minutes later that I finally found general information online about the additional city tax. On the booking site, and in their own notes, it states information on additional charges such as late check-in fees, etc, but NO INFO on the (hidden) city tax per person, per night fee. Also would like to clarify that a "guest house" connotes a warm, family-like atmosphere. Being yelled at on the phone is not welcoming. The white leather couch at the entrance was disgustingly dirty. Once we were "checked in" there was no one there providing any service or oversight. Oh wait, there's cameras, so it's a "guest house". Let's be clear too, this is an OLD APARTMENT (not in the charming sense) in the center of Rome, chopped up into 4 rooms. They are renovated but have very poor ventilation, and as a consequence our bathroom floor and shower was MOLDY. What concerned me the most, however, was that the young man at makeshift "front desk" entered our room and I had to ask him to leave immediately. Very uncomfortable and unprofessional. When I told him his behavior was unacceptable, at first he arrogantly blowed it off, until I threatened to call the police. Suddenly he quieted down. It was like talking to a misbehaved child. Something felt very weird about the whole exchange, and when I went back to the room immediately called my husband to find us a new hotel. I checked the reviews, which we should have looked at initially, and noticed a similar pattern. At first the apartment owner (father of the 30 year old young man who checked us in) refused to cancel our booking, and said his son was "only trying to show us how to use the coffee maker". Total lie, since he never mentioned it at all and my daughter is witness to his entering our room. Creepy experience. Thank God we were only there one night, and were able to move to a new hotel around the corner. I left a review at hotels.com, and you can read Anna's response. It's telling how she bulletpoints each concern with a rebuttal, like it's my fault for not knowing about the city tax, when it's NOT in the confirmation email, and somehow the guy entering our room turns into "showing us how to use the air conditioning". No, that's not what happened at all. I told the receptionist I was going to leave a negative review AFTER he entered our room. I would never advise two women to stay at this hotel

San Giovanni
A quirky hotel converted from an old monastery but with the central Basilica of the Holy Cross still intact and still in use (and worth a visit). It is also right next to the old city wall and the Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano, the cathedral church of Rome, is just down the road (also well worth a visit). The hotel is located a bit out of the centre of town but there are plenty of restaurants, pizzeria etc in the area and it felt very safe walking around at night. A taxi to The Vatican cost €16. Our room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the Piazza and a busy road which meant that it was quite noisy at night, other rooms may be quieter. The room itself was basic with a wardrobe, a chair and a dressing table which had a (not very efficient) fridge built in. There was also a TV on the wall (no international channels) and a safe in the wardrobe. The bed was very comfortable. No Wi-Fi was available in the room. The bathroom had a shower, basin, toilet and bidet. All the chromework needs a good scrub to bring the shine back and there were patches of mould in places around the shower. The bathroom was also equipped with a hair dryer. An underground corridor, lined with sofas and chairs and with a rounded ceiling, led to the breakfast room. The food was basic – meat, cheese, bread, cakes and fruit – but was tasty enough. Coffee and juices were also available. The receptionists we met were friendly and helpful. They also spoke good English. What the hotel lacks most is a central area, probably a bar, where you can spend time outside your room without sitting in a corridor with nothing to look at but some walls. There is a roof terrace but some inside space would be good. If we went back to Rome we probably wouldn’t stay here but wouldn’t be too disappointed if there was no other choice.

This hotel is in the San Lorenzo neighbourhood, which is a 20 minute walk from Roma Termini. Upon arrival I was met with welcoming staff who were very responsive and polite. The woman at the desk gave lots of advice about transport routes, shopping and attractions which was extremely helpful. I was in a wonderful, spotlessly clean room with a modern interior. My bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was impeccably clean. There was storage for clothes and a safe for valuables. Opposite the bed there was a large SMART TV with free WiFi (very fast) which is a brilliant feature. It was wonderful to be able to come back after a long day walking around Rome, to wind down to a movie. The option of air conditioning/heating control was great. There was no view from the window (as expected, given the location). But do not be put off by this! The hotel is in a fairly quiet area, which offers a better nights sleep compared to busier, more central hotels (right next to Termini for example). I had the breakfast buffet which had mostly continental options with limited options for vegetarians/vegans. I was disappointed that the only hot food available for vegetarians was scrambled eggs, but I am sure that the hotel would be able to accommodate dietary requirements upon request (as stated on their website). I was not too bothered as the selection of pastries and breads made up for this! Overall, I would not hesitate to book a room with this group again. I highly recommend this place is you are visiting Rome. I have no real complaints!

My girlfriend and I arrived here late after a long drive down from the Amalfi coast. On arrival, Giorgio made us feel welcomed and relaxed. He was excellent and advising how best to spend our two days in Rome and also gave us great advice on public transport as well as great inexpensive restaurants to try that wouldn't just be tourist traps or needlessly expensive (especially as we are two travellers on a strict budget). He also tried to fix our AC as it wasn't working properly meaning our room was more akin to a sauna - not ideal when it is still nearly 25 degrees at 10pm. He offered to move us and dragged our heavy cases up and down flights of stairs and through narrow doorways to make sure we were comfortable here. Genuinely a lovely guy and I would certainly stay here again when we return to Rome in future. The rooms are basic but ideal for a cheaper alternative and those who want to make their money go a little further. The restaurant he recommended was delicious and only set us back €35 for two arge pasta dishes, a side of bruschetta, two large beers and a table water. Pretty good for a European capital in the height of August. Thank you for your outstanding service, Giorgio - from two very satisfied customers!

Stayed here for a night because we were planning to take the train from Roma Termini the next day. It was so convenient - we got off the Leonardo Express at Termini and reached the hotel on foot within 5 minutes. Front desk staff was very warm and friendly, and gave us lots of tips on where to go during the short time we had in Rome. It was walkable to lots of things to eat and do - for example, we got to the Spanish Steps in 15 minutes on foot at a relaxed pace. Room was very comfortable and clean. We had a lovely complimentary breakfast delivered straight to our room on a tray - I loved the way they let us order, by ticking boxes on a sign and hanging it outside the door (if you are really hungry you can order as much as you want!) The staff were kind enough to let us get breakfast at 645am so that we could catch our early train, even though usually breakfast starts at 7am. The only things that could be improved are that the pillows are quite flat, and in our room the water temperature ran hot and cold rather unpredictably. Otherwise, a pleasant stay.

We stayed at the Via Cavour 150 location and it was great. Walking distance to most of the city and a quick Uber if you got tired. Only a 150 meters from the metro and great night life just a block away. Lost of local eateries. Simple breakfast nook, just enough to get the day started. Staff was friendly and at your call on the phone. Warning, if you are a needy traveler who requires constant front desk service, this is not for you. If you are an independent traveler who can make your own plans and make your own way. Fantastic place. Don't get me wrong, if you need help, the staff is only a phone call or email away and they were very helpful with check in and checkout, they are just not sitting at a vacant front desk. We would absolutely stay here again.

The forum, Coliseum, Pantheon, Piazza Navonna, Piazza Venezia, etc are all within easy walking distance. There are also many excellent restaurants in Travestere. Residenza can easily be reached from the Rome airport by an easy train/tram combination trip that takes about 45 minutes. The hotel is a very short walk from the tram stop. Our family of 6 stayed at this boutique hotel for four nights during our trip to Italy last summer. We chose this hotel based on its location and amenities and we were not disappointed. The hotel is situated on a quiet street near Barbarini Square which has a metro stop and taxi stand. It is a ten minute walk to the Spanish Steps and Trevi fountain. The hotel itself is beautiful and modern. The rooms are larger than rooms we stayed in other hotels while on our trip with nice bathrooms and very comfy beds. The rooms were quiet due to its location and excellent soundproofing between rooms. The breakfasts were in the lower section of the hotel with indoor and outdoor seating. The food was good and we never had to wait for a table. We particularly enjoyed the rooftop bar where we would gather for drinks before heading out to dinner. The staff at the hotel were both helpful and friendly. One of our daughters left her retainer in the room and the hotel staff found it and shipped it back to the United States along with a few other items we had left and not realized. One downside was in the evenings the front desk struggled to get us taxis to get to our dinners. Sometimes we would have to wait 30 minutes. The staff tried their best to get them, but they just had a hard time getting them there. I am not sure if it was because of the location of the hotel or if it is just difficult to get taxis at that time of day. Overall, this was an exceptional stay for us and would definitely stay here again.

Always a debate to stay in a hotel or in an apartment. In case of Rome, we decided to stay in this apartment, and we never regret. Owners always ready to help you with your inquiry. Good breakfast, excellent coffee, and small kitchen with few pans and pots, so you can cook for yourself. We did it. Like anywhere in Rome, if you are a light sleeper, ask for an apartment at the higher floor. Very unique even for Rome hotels, card reader to your room. You always feel safe and private. No problem with wi-fi. I recommend it, and if we visit Rome again we will stay there. Close to metro station. 5 min to Via del Corso, famous prestigious boutique center. Walking distance to places like Fontana di Trevi, Spanish Steps, nice walking through Rome to Piazza Navone and/or Pantheon. Many off touristy pizzeria, local small “deli”, and restaurants.

Walk along the river bank for an hour or so to the cathedral, and it is especially convenient to go there. A lot of restaurants outside the hotel are more convenient to eat. We stayed here for six days, the old hotel room was small but the health was very good, the breakfast was simple but the basic things were there, especially the raw ham and all kinds of sausages I loved. Unfortunately, the elevator broke down for three days and climbed the stairs every day. However, it is also a good price-performance hotel in Rome.

My wife and I usually stay at hotels one price class below Vilon, but after 3 months in Covid lock-down we wanted to splurge on a truly exclusive experience while on a city trip to Rome in June 2020. We were not disappointed. We spent 3 nights at Vilon and everything was perfect - the interior decoration of the room and dining areas (tasteful and timeless, with a lovely breakfast room and interior court yard, mid-century furniture, plants and art everywhere), the location (within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, Borghese park) and perhaps most of all the excellent service (exceedingly attentive, polite, friendly and knowledgeable). Breakfast was lovely and dinner at the restaurant (Adelaide) the best meal we had while in Rome, and reasonably priced. We hope to come back to Rome soon - we were not able to visit the Colosseum and Vatican Galleries this time as tickets were in limited supply due to Covid - and will definitely stay at Vilon again when we do. A big thank you to all the staff for making our stay so special.

Hotel location is very good, in the center of Rome, about 50 meters from the famous Trevi Fountain, to Venice Square, Colosseum, Plaza de España and other attractions can be walked, only 3 km from the Vatican, shopping and dining are very convenient. Belonging to the B&B category, in an old building, there is a single bed outside, a 1.8-meter double bed in the room, the washstand, the shower and the toilet are separated, and the total area is about 30 square meters. Suitable for young couples living with a baby, there is no extra bed space in the room. The rooms are fully equipped and clean. The hotel does not have a lift, but the hotel can help to bring the luggage into the room, the service is good, will try to meet the guests' requirements. Breakfast in the small restaurant next to the downstairs, there are bread, cake, pizza, eggs, fruit, sausage, cheese, milk, black tea, coffee, etc. It is good, recommend the grilled pizza, not as salty as other restaurants. It tastes good. The central area of Rome is very old buildings and streets. The road is narrow and the parking is not convenient. The hotel is not on the main street. The advantage is that the sleeping is very quiet. The disadvantage is that there is no parking space. Special reminder: Be sure to check the store time in advance, check in after 9 pm, add money!

Spagna
This “hotel” is an ideal location walking distance to the Trevi fountain, Piazza novena, and the pantheon… We had a tour at the Vatican museums and with a small bite to eat along the way were able to walk back from even there! That being said this hotel is not really a hotel… More of a glorified Airbnb! Let me clarify… It is located on the fourth floor of a shopping center building and the “hotel” contains only four rooms… no signage is prominently displayed in said shopping area, just a small plaque above the doorbell, as if you were going to visit someone’s flat or apartment. Upon checking in we received four keys: one for the front door that leads to the shopping area, One for the elevator to get it to go to the fourth floor of this “hotel”, one for stairway door on the fourth floor, and then finally one for our room. The rooms are fine very modern looking but they are tiny, the shower door is so closely placed to the bidet that the bidet has a foam square adhered to it to ensure the glass does not bang into the porcelain of the bidet… The passageway that you have to squeeze your way inbetween to get into the shower is incredibly tiny, I am not an overweight man but I struggled to get into the shower… There is no doubt in my mind if you weighed over 200 pounds you would struggle even more to enter the shower. The breakfast buffet is located on the terrace… It included cornflakes, cappuccinos from a Keurig you would have in your house, and some small store bought croissants and scrambled eggs, hardley a spread one would anticipate from a place called a luxury suite. The walls are razor thin one night we were awoken several times by the ringing of the front reception phone, With there only being four rooms in the hotel our room was literally down the hall from reception. Upon check out the receptionist insisted we settle our room bar items bill and city tax with cash until ultimately relenting and allowing us to use our credit card. Again I am not familiar with any luxury suite hotels that refuse to take credit card. Overall an excellent location but not at all what we were anticipating and a poor excuse for a hotel.

Termini Central Station
The Italian stayed in Rome for the longest time, so I chose a hotel that is a bit more expensive than the other three cities. It turns out that the hotel is really good. The hotel is 900 meters away from the Rome train station. Do not drag the boxes. You can see the traffic is very convenient. Basically, you can take the subway to the first attraction in the morning. You can walk back to the hotel and use the bus or subway at night. There is no need to buy Roma Pass. The breakfast in the bathtub was very rich. I ate for four days without getting tired. If I return to Rome in the future, I will still choose this hotel. You can rest assured to book this one.

Pantheon
Hotel Mimosa is located in the perfect location for visiting Rome, and it was very clean and comfortable, at a very good price; I would definitely stay here again, it was a great value. What was so nice about the location was that not only was it near the Pantheon and easy walking distance to everything (we walked everywhere, but the buses at Largo Argentina were only a block away), but the area was low-key and not overly touristy and felt safe at night. I would suggest asking for a room away from the street; ours faced the street, and I enjoyed the view, but there were various noises on the street during the night, from shouting men to garbage trucks, that kept us awake the first night (after that, we walked so much each day that we slept through it!). The hotel itself consisted of the second floor in a large block building, with an elevator. A small reception, a breakfast room, and the guest rooms (maybe 10 of them?) made up the hotel; decor was 1970s and somewhat shabby, but everything was clean. Our room was one of the largest, and was very spacious. The beds were on the firm side but comfortable, with plenty of pillows; also there was a small desk and chair in the room, and a large wardrobe. The bathroom was tiny but well-appointed, with good shower pressure, a large sink, and a hairdryer, and was very clean. The towels were large and soft. The breakfast buffet offered choice of bread, pastries and cakes, salami and cheese, scrambled eggs, two cereals, fruit, tea, coffee, and juices. All fresh and tasty. Finally, the staff were friendly and helpful; they arranged transport from and to the airport at a good price (via email, before we arrived), and assisted with whatever we needed. Altogether a great stay!

Termini Central Station
The guest house (it's not a hotel, but an apartment) is spotless clean inside, with all the appliances in the bathroom new and shiny, it's kept incredibly tidy and smells perfect. The breakfast is very good, fresh, the coffee is made to order, so everything inside is just amazing. The location is very convenient - near Termini station and Metro, great restaurants at Termini food court open all night. The neighborhood is rather dirty and may put you off, especially your first evening there, but everybody around is friendly, helpful, and harmless. We spent three wonderful nights and loved it!
