We stayed just for one night...but the house and rooms are as they should be. Magnificent restoration of an old building! Beautiful interior, clean and a comfy bed. They even offered a bed and linens for our nine months old. The owner is very welcoming, friendly and helpful! Breakfast pastries were delicious! We will be back when we come next time to manduria! Only one thing: the house is in a ZTL, which is active from 19.30-2. You can still park close by...call the owner ahead of arrival and he will guide you!

Positives are the central location, hotel staff and size of room which was well serviced. Also we had two fabulous meals on the roof terrace, the second came with unexpected live music and the opportunity for a romantic dance! Our waitress, Georgia, (?) was a treasure and will go on to a great career in hospitality. Our room on the ground floor was elegant , quiet and comfortable, although I did feel somewhat claustrophic due to complete lack of 'view'. The negative was actually finding our way by car to the electric garage gates behind the hotel; who would have thought that arriving at the front on foot was so easy but negotiating the excruciatingly narrow and illogical streets would lead to so much marital tension?! As we were staying for 4 nights this could have been a disaster....or perhaps we're just old and have lost our sense of direction. Even if it's impossible for the hotel to provide map or written directions, I think a Hotel Borromeo Garage sign would help others, including one on the gate itself? Although other guests mention the good breakfast, I must to beg to differ; there was no understanding of what an 'Americano' coffee was which led to complicated expresso + water + milk arrangement. There was no hot food option which I would expect at the star rating and price we were paying and no fresh fruit juice. The only juice was a truly awful synthetic variety with enough sugar to kill the average diabetic. Likewise only sugar filled or full fat yoghurt. I think we were practically the only guests for a few days and the tiny display of limited fresh fruit was frankly shaming. Sorry.

Room is small, but very cozy and well-planned (we had basic triple room on ground floor). Great bathroom with superb shower. B&B is in the old restored building. Very good location - right near old town (chiesa Madre church is 50m away). No parking, but we found space in piazza around 150m away. There was welcome basket with wine, water and snacks. Good breakfast, friendly hosts. Good price. Perfect for short stay.

The resort is actually not in a vineyard. Their vineyard is about 30-35 minutes away. They typically offer tours of the vineyard to hotel guests (you drive yourself there) for a charge. As such, representing themselves as a Wine resort is misleading. The resort itself has some beautiful aspects including modern decor, beautiful grounds (inside the walls), excellent restaurant and very cordial reception. What made our stay disappointing was the following: -Location away from the vineyards. The area surrounding the property is not beautiful. -No hot water on day 1. Luke-warm water on day 2 for our showers. Outdoor jacuzzi was not heated properly. Typical settings are 102-104 degrees Farenheit, theirs was set to 79. We were told by a staff member that they don't want to use the electricity in the summer and save it for the winter???? -Reading lights above the bed were broken. (it was explained the previous guest had broken it) -The corner nook in our deluxe room had a tiny uncomfortable chair and looked like a "time out" corner. A cozy overstuffed chair with a reading lamp might have made it functional. The front desk staff made an effort to overcome the lack of hot water (in the shower and the jacuzzi) and offered us a free tour of the vineyard, which we graciously accepted. The bed was very comfortable and the staff overall was very attentive. The restaurant was excellent. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel as a wine resort. There are other properties in Apuglia that we stayed in that were actually in a vineyard and everything worked.

We two Brits stayed for a week. Our Italian was negligible but it didn’t matter. The owner Loredana went out of her way to make sure we understood the on street parking, breakfast menu and restaurants and local sites. Maria took wonderful care of us at breakfast. Guests have use of a shared kitchen which was great. Lunch out while site seeing and bread, cheese, meats and local Primitivo wine in the garden, in the evening. Idyllic. If you visit the wine museum, you can buy wine by the litre at less than €2 per litre. If you want to tour the museum, you need to book in advance. Loredana will help with that too. Mozzie spray a good idea. We had some so were OK. Would definitely recommend and return. An ideal spot for taking days out to the wonderful places in this area of Puglia.
