Hotels Near Thachancode In Thiruvananthapuram Review
We didn't book the rooms since it was low season, but ***aged to find space easily. We chose this hotel because it was clean, well-maintained, and it had a beautiful pool, and we weren't disappointed. The rooms were basic, but each had a balcony overlooking the pool, the garden and palm trees. The staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome, always quick to say hello and help with any queries (especially the chef and waiter). Wi-fi was great. The position is fine: though it isn't on the beach, it is very close, and I imagine in high season it would offer some respite from the promenade which must get very busy. We stayed for a week, but would quite happily have stayed for longer, and would happily use this hotel for future visits.
Ask for the SeaView Room - bit more expensive but awesome position and view of the beach and sunset! Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Lovely sea view restaurant area upstairs- Food excellent- ask for the grilled fish Kerala style - kitchen staff will show you the fresh fish- you choose, they weigh and you pay accordingly. No buffet breakfast, order from the menu even if it’s included. Choose the dosa massala! Pool on the small side but more than adequate. It has a jacuzzi as well, in the pool. It’s on the quiet side of the long beach walk to Varkala which we really liked- you can walk to Varkala ***** the beach walk.. you will pass numerous restaurants, craft and clothes shops and hotels. Some tacky, some nice. Walk all the way to the Hindustan hotel. Rooms are on the small side but adequate and spotlessly clean. Go for the super deluxe room, but when booking be sure to ask for one with a decent sea view- some are not that great, so beware. Tejasree, was the guest ***ager - very polite and helpful Naynika, Dikhsa, Diju, Milan, Rashmi were the others, equally friendly and professional Of course you can get cheaper Accomodation nearer Varkala, but the area seemed quite tacky and touristy - the B’Canti is in a quiet and uncluttered area. You will regret your stay here!
RB Palace hotel was located centrally and in main market area. Easily reachable location in plus point. Also this is good hotel in this city. I have search lot and finally decide to stay here. My all over experience was great. Service was wonderful. Staff was friendly. Room was small bur well maintained.
Excellent service. Staff were very friendly including the G.M. Very customer service oriented. Very nice food and nice atmosphere from the RESTUARANT looking at the beach.
We travelled as a Couple in Feb20. We stayed for 01 nite and had booked the floating cottage. The property is beautiful, quite and huge with quite a few activities. Staff are courteous. The view from the cottage is amazing. Would like to make a mention of a few People who made our stay special. Mr.Babu recieved us upon arrival and also helped us at departure......very polite efficient and warm. Mr.Sajayan at the restaurant was extremely kind and took care of our special requests. I had wished to have banana fritters for high tea. It was not on the menu that day. However he ensured that it was specially made for me......this kind of service needs a special mention. Mr,Santosh at the restaurant also was very kind. A very special mention of the Chief Chef Mr.Ravi Kumar. I had casually made a request for banana flower cutlets. All these are kerala cuisine specialities and so i wished to try them. He asked us what time will you come for dinner. to my pleasant and utter surprise when we reached the dining hall at 8.30pm we were served with hot banana flower cutlets.......unmatchable taste.......something you wish you could keep on eating. It is this kind of service that stands apart and makes a property worthy of a memorable stay. Thank You Team.
Not really a Taj hotel, not a grade of Taj at all. The hotel sign no longer says Taj, it feels like a low-end hotel under the same group company. The price is totally inconsistent with the environment, conditions and restaurants of the hotel. This price can already live in a 5-star hotel in India. seriously overpriced, the service is just Okay. It ’s not Taj hotel. Be carful!
The hotel tastes great, the air conditioner can't be adjusted, the service is good, it can be OK, it can be OK, it can be OK, it can be OK, It can
The breakfast is very rich, the room is very big
This hotel is set once and likes greenery, and the space is large. This hotel is set once and likes greenery. This hotel is set once and is like greenery.
The Taj Malabar is a beautiful hotel in Willingdon Island, Cochin. The property has a beautiful pool and gym overlooking the backwaters. There are several restaurants and a lobby bar serving delectable cuisines. The breakfast spread is spectacular with a generous dose of local cuisine, the quality of the food was very good. The lobby bar is great to spend time in the evening before heading to one of the restaurants for dinner. The bartender takes special care to customise cocktails as per our tastes. All in al superb stay, only downside is that the room is too small. And definitely uncomfortable for 3 people (2+1 kid). The Jiva spa treatments were very good too, although slightly pricey give the time of the treatment. The complementary evening tea and the boat ride of the backwaters were definitely a treat and great for kids too!
I booked it for a friend, the hotel has a nice view, and the staff is also very good. The room is clean and tidy and very spacious. The view from the window is also amazing. Recommend staying.
Did not go to India, ordered for the agent, said it was good

Guest name_ M. Ramesh Had stayed in Tribute Portfolio hotel in the month of February. It was indeed a very best experience. Had a very pleasant stay. The staffs were very hospitable. Specially sonia thaval, front office ***ager, Liji V.L and Noni front desk executives and rajeev hotel taxi driver. They have offered me a very good service. I will love to suggest this hotel to my friends n family also. On my next trip to Kochi,I would definitely come to Tribute Portfolio. Thankyou for your co-operation during my stay..
The hotel is clean and very pkeasant. Rooms are large ckean and very comfirtable bed. The staff are very helpful and friendly, nothing is a trouble. We had dinner in their seafood restaurant and boy was that a good choice. A big thankyou to Sheetal and Byju. Their help with choosing dinner. Sheetal helped us with our entrees omg the tempura prawns cooked to perfection and the squid cooked in spices never have we enjoyed squid so much... Byju helped us with main course. We picked our fresh fish and Byju suggest half the fish cut a fillet done in local spice, which he said we wont taste anywhere else and the rest of the fish done in a ***go curry. We had a taste sensation we did not expect. Absolutely amazing. Thank you again for such a wonderful meal and evening. It will be hard to beat this experience And this is just day 1 of our holiday in India what a great start.
Nice hotel, good location, good environment
Excellent hotel. Nice pool, good food in the restaurant, and the staff were incredibly friendly and professional. If I find myself in these parts some day in the future, I'd stay here again.
Though we reached the hotel after 10:30, they provided us with breakfast and rooms. Rooms were lovely. Mine was noisy because it faced the port but I was glad to have a balcony and the view. Hotel has an inner courtyard with lots of light. The rooftop swimming pool was a fabulous break from the heat of the day. We had an afternoon swim followed by chai provided from a cart as a treat. Dinner, also al fresco on the rooftop was delicious. Best of all, there was beautiful live music: drummer and flute. The staff at this hotel was particularly sweet.
Only a 1 night stop before travelling on. For the price we paid this was a great stay. Don’t expect 5 star, but for £20 you can’t complain.
Was traveling with my family a senior citizen and a kid apart from my spouse. Was worried about the entire arrangements but abad team especially anup kumar, majo and javed took customers experience to a different level and ensured I was given an excellent service with amazing locations and clean hotels with picturesque views. Their turtle beach location, houseboat had been an experience which was priceless and created a memory with my family which will be with me for years. Munnar and thekaddy and their atrium location is prime and easily accessible. Thanks Anup and team for putting up an amazing show.
Good location, good service, and the room design is quite sensible. One small problem is that the rainwater room is not smooth.
What a joy it was to stay 2 nights at this wonderful hotel. Our group arrived a few hours earlier than anticipated, yet we were warmly welcomed and ushered into the dining room to enjoy a hearty breakfast. Not long after we were shown to our rooms - or in our case a suite. Upon opening the door, we entered into a spacious lounge room complete with a 3 seater couch, 2 armchairs, mini bar, desk and TV. Such a perfect place to watch a movie, do emails and simply relax. Down a short hallway, with the bathroom on the left and a large wardrobe to the right a well sized bedroom can be found. The bright room with large corner windows, a dressing table and further television was a cosy cocoon for a good night's sleep. This hotel provides everything a traveller could need: safe, hairdryer, fast stable WiFi and an iron & ironing board. Located on a main road with rail transport just metres away, and the beach promenade a couple of blocks away. The large dining room served up some good food, although the service was a bit patchy. All in all, a very comfortable stay was enjoyed.
The environment is ok, the price is reasonable, close to the market
This was our third time at Brunton Boatyard hotel and the hotel didn’t disappoint. It’s excellent location (the best, I feel, in Fort Kochi), old colonial charm and service is what draws us to the hotel every few years. The hotel is located in Cochin’s Fort Kochi area. This part of the city is its oldest and therefore most charming. Brunton Boatyard is situated right next to the ferry terminal and on the water’s edge. Rooms are larger than the average hotel rooms (in the general category) in India. And the balcony adds to the charm. I can sit by the window or on my balcony and watch ships pass by. They look so close that you feel you could almost stretch your arm out and touch them. The ferry terminal right next to the building can be a bit noisy if you are obsessed about peace and quiet. But trust me, I too felt the same when I had stayed at the hotel ***y years ago for the first time. But then I got used to it. And now, I actually love all the boat life around the hotel. It gives you a harbor proximity feeling and I like that about Brunton Boatyard. Water views can be very soothing and ro***tic. Food is lovely, though expensive. I would recommend you eat breakfast here and then for lunch and dinner, try the ***y outside places in Fort Kochi. There are ***y quaint cafes and restaurants nearby that’ll be easy on the pocket and great food. Brunton has three restaurants; the Armory at the ground floor that serves breakfast, lunch and then light snacks in the evening. The ‘Terrace’ and ‘History’ restaurant upstairs are only open for dinner and require prior reservation. We tried one of the restaurants for dinner; don’t remember which one. But it was a fish specialty, had an outdoor seating and was excellent. Service at Armory during breakfast was very slow. Plus we had to specially ask for Jam and cheese; it wasn’t always there on the table. There is no buffet; it’s a-la-carte. But the staff is very sweet and cordial. Rooms are excellent and nicely maintained. Bathrooms are large and well-fitted. Wine (Indian) in the rooms’ fridge was very over-priced. Housekeeping is done twice. But the evening round happens too early; around 4:30 pm when some of us are taking our afternoon nap. The evening service should happen around 7 pm. The whole property is large and spacious. Staff is excellent, well-trained, always smiling and polite. They take care of your every need. Every day they have a complimentary Hi-Tea at the pool, overlooking the backwaters, followed by a sunset cruise on the hotel’s private boat. That’s a great touch by the hotel. Also, I got some office work when I was there on a Sunday and I had to use the hotel’s computer for about 4 hours. They did not charge me for that. Thank you so much for helping me. Excellent hotel that has preserved Kochi’s history and heritage and I will highly recommend this to all. Go to Brunton Boatyard atleast once in your life. I look forward to my next visit there.
This is the most disgusting hotel I have stayed in. You are greeted with the smell of mould before you reach the front door. As you move into property the lights in the corridor do not work (there are no windows so is dark during the day). This is to hide the mould on the walls. Once you get into your room the smell is over powering. The once white sheets are a shade of brown and the room is generally grimy. I accidently ripped through the middle of the double bed sheet (as the 'double' is two single mattresses) to discover lots of other people's hair. The bathroom is foul, mould everywhere. What was clearly once a very nice hotel is now a mouldy cess pit.
My wife and I stayed here in September 2019. We were joined by our daughter, son-in-law and grandson. We had a great time. The place is comfortable, clean and very charming. The food is delicious. However, the best thing about this place is the proprietors. Philip and Maryann welcomed us all and made us feel part of their family. They shared their Onam celebrations with us and gave us an insight into Keralan life that we would not have got had we stayed in a hotel. Their advice about where to go and stay in Kerala, and how to get there was so invaluable. We had a great holiday and a lot of this was down to Philip and Maryann. Thank you both
Good location, clean and tidy room, friendly and friendly owner, recommended!
