We stayed at Hotel Emilia for a few days in May . It was me and my 2 daughters . My brother and his family stayed there a few times before and highly recommended it. We arrived 1 1/2 days later in Barcelona as expected because of major flight delays Loved the location, easy to get anywhere in Barcelona. Room was nice and spacious for the 3 off us, very clean and nicely layed out.Our room faced the courtyard and was very quiet, what was perfect for us after the long travel. We loved the breakfast, nice selection, great coffees. The rooftop area is gorgeous, great view, perfect for a evening drink and some tapas. Staff was outstanding and extremely helpful. We had missed our reservation for Sagrada family because of our flight problems and they helping us getting new tickets, gave some restaurant suggestions, helped with cab rides. If we are ever back in Barcelona we definitely will stay there again

Great hotel! The appartment was exactly as advertised. The room was clean and confortable. Kitchen had everything you needed. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Bonus, the supermarket was right beside the hotel, so if you wanted to cook in the appartment, all was there at your finger tips! the location is pretty central, just a few meters from all the restaurants, shops and touristic places.

The Bird House is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. Visitors to Barcelona will find that the Bird House is a fantastic accommodation choice. With Passeig De Gracia just 2km away and Barcelona Airport only 14km away, transportation is very convenient. Just a short walk from Urgell Metro Station, traveling to most city destinations is a breeze. Seeing Barcelona's sights from this hotel is easy with Palau de la Música Catalana, La Pedrera – Casa Milà and Casa Batlló all close by. At the end of a busy day, travelers can unwind and relax in the hotel or go out and enjoy the city. For those driving themselves, parking is provided on site.

My boyfriend and I only had 3 days in Barcelona so we knew we needed a location close to the main attractions. Soho definitely fit the bill! We are walkers, so were able to hit 12 different sites, all on foot, though the bus and metro are directly across the street so if you are not like us you're a step away from public transportation. I think one of the biggest perks about Soho is the front desk concierge FREDDIE! We would have missed so many sites, plus excellent places to eat, if not for him. Friendly is an understatement and he cares 100% about the experience of his guests. The Soho is lucky to have him. Rooms are clean and comfortable. If you stay on the outside corridor be prepared for a noisy street, but nothing that will keep you up at night, just general traffic noise. We felt safe and were walking around town at 1 am. We did not pay for the breakfast, not worth it in our opinion, but the room itself was great. Enjoy your stay!

The location of the hotel is great. But the sound insulation is not very good, you can hear the sound outside the door and window at night. The price is very cheap.

A pleasant surprise. The reception is small so, my first impression was: ok, maybe it’s an old so so hotel. At my first Hello, I was delighted with a great “bienvenido”(welcome) from clerk. The room was very good and clean, WiFi very good. The breakfast affordable and good (special the staff, very helpful). The most impressive of this hotel was the staff, very kind, friendly and helpful. I total recommend this hotel and as plus: 45 m from subway and 200 meters from bus to airport

I really wanted to give a better rating, because I liked many things about it, but I will try to be as objective as possible. We are a family with a 2-year old kid. Our stay is relatively long (vacation). We chose this hotel mainly because of the impression it is family-friendly. The comments like hearing the neighbors, etc (which is true) didn't bother us that much. We booked a ”superior” room. The staff at the reception treated us well as we arrived. Also they were very helpful in answering our questions. Similarly the room service team was very professional and still friendly. They understood what a family with little kids might need. However, due to the fact that the room fridge is very small and offers only limited cooling capacity, some food items either went bad, or were impossible to fit in the fridge. For example the baby milk went bad a couple of times. Therefore we requested some milk to feed it before going to bed. At first the staff responded in a friendly way, but later (two of them) became very reluctant in answering our needs. It is true we could have kept some items in the big fridge at the hall, which we did already, but it is different when it comes to baby milk. We simply expected either a better and larger fridge, or a more attentive staff at the reception. When faced with the same situation before at a different hotel, they replaced the fridge immediately. Long story short: following our experience, the hotel is not as family-friendly as we expected. I would not recommend it for long stays. For the price, the ”superior” room is not worth it. Paying more than 1,400€, we didn't think getting some warm baby milk would be that complicated. That said, we did enjoy the terrace and the hall area. Half of the staff at the reception were very helpful and professional. The location was very central.

Couldn’t fault our stay here at all. On arrival and check in we were offered a complimentary glass of bubbly each. Amazing hotel location, beautiful and clean inside, room was lovely with a super comfy bed, shower and bath facility and safe in room which is a plus! Breakfast was great with lots to choose from and the staff were all lovely. We ate and drank at the hotel in the rooftop bar which was beautiful with a great view and lots of places to sit and enjoy the sun.

We stayed over at Barcelona Century Hotel for 7 days and absolutely loved it. Firstly, the staff was incredibly polite and understanding. Always said hello and goodbye as soon as we showed up in the lobby, no matter how many timed we would walk through it throughout the day. We were met with an external issue one time that we had to inform the staff about and they reacted rapidly, which we appreciated very much. Secondly, the room we were given was fine. While I can see why its size could've been a problem to some, it was spacious just enough for me and my family and it didn't bother us at all. The street view wasn't anything too spectacular, however we enjoyed it regardless. Thirdly, the breakfast was fantastic! Delicious coffee - I especially recommend the cappuccinos. Those who aren't fond of sweet breakfasts may dislike it, though - there aren't much neutral or sour foods to choose from (just ham, cheese, eggs, bacon and bread). It's mostly pastries, doughnuts, cereals, yoghurts, fruits and such. I personally have a liking for sweet breakfasts and everything was tasty. Lastly, excellent location! The hotel is not far from Passeig De Gracia and La Rambla. Quite a way to the sea, but honestly Barcelona is so beautiful that there is no need to complain - while on the way there, you'll get to see most of the city's architectural gems and tourist attractions. To conclude, if you're looking for a nice hotel in Barcelona at a fair price, this is the one :) Thank you to the staff for such enjoyable experience, hope to visit the place again soon!

It was decent but I expect more from a 4 star hotel. The rooms are not very well soundproofed, I could hear people snoring next to my room. Room is adequate, a little run down but nothing filthy or unsafe. Bathroom was good, hot water always available. Airconditioning worked very well. Didn't get any breakfast so cannot comment on that. Staff is super friendly, did not have much interaction with them but always cheerful, most of them spoke decent English. Location is really good.

My husband and I traveled from Massachusetts to Barcelona not knowing what to expect as far as language differences, etc. We were met by friendly people who did their best to accommodate our needs. We were traveling with a transfer chair and, at the last minute, one of the wheels broke. Unfortunately the chair was really needed, but could not be repaired in time for us to leave on the cruise we had booked. We called around for help with no success, but the receptionist on the desk that night called a few people she knew and before we knew it, a chair to borrow for the week of our cruise was arranged. The rooms were clean, the hotel was located near public transport, and many good restaurants were nearby. Thank you, Ophelias Hotel for a very nice stay.

Good value for money The room was bigger than I expected, very clean, the maid came in every day and I had no complaints! I read some comments that there is noise from the road. Do not worry about this, just ask for a quiet room and they will put you in the back of the hotel, where there is no noise. I was at 803 and it was very quiet! I did not have breakfast because it was so expensive! The hotel is very central, next to the most central Metro station. Right next door there is an amazing steakhouse that you should definitely eat there. The only negative is that the room could have a kettle and two glasses.

This hotel was fine, and yet quite confounding. What should have been a fine experience otherwise was marred several stupid and small flaws, which would be really easy to fix, if there was any will at all on the part of management:   1) Check-in - with only one person before me, took 20 minutes. Computers were not working.    2) Privacy policy - I was made to sign a paper, but after signing the person kept the paper. I had no copy so no record of what I signed.   3) Room: Totally baffling array of switches for the lighting system, impossible to decipher.   4) Hair dryer: broken, screeching sound and no air coming out. Wondef if the staff bother check them? I was quite scared and turned it off immediately.   5) Contacting reception - I had to use my mobile phone to call the front desk to report the hair dryer, at which time i was told that the number to contact reception was 1700. Amazing. NO one said that on check in. I did later discovered it was handwritten on the key-card paper, but the receptionist could have bothered to point that out.   6) Elevators. Ridiculous! I visited several floors to find the way back to reception. There is a giant sign OUTSIDE the elevator that says 0 for reception. But INSIDE the elevator there is no ”O”, only ”B”. I finally go thtere, but I mean seriously, how unhelpful.   7) Invoice - I requested an invoice at reception on departure. When I got home I discovered it is not even a correctly done official invoice for VAT purposes. It was issued on a plain piece of paper, lacked the company name address and VAT number, and they didn´t bother to put my info on it.   I had to write to atencion cliente and comercia1 to request a new one.   Items 5 and 6 could be so easily solved with small stickers (one for each phone, two for each elevator).   How much effort is that? Obviously too much.    I should add, that the stay was otherwise fine. This could be a five star experience. Except, it isn't.   These are small things. Never have I encountered a hotel that gave off such a feeling of no one caring at all about the place.

Pros: Great location; beautiful, clean modern rooms; great coffee, lovely appointed kitchen that guests may use. Cons: Lack of communication; no sound proofing between rooms & halls; AC didn't work. I would not stay here again & therefore would not recommend this hotel. I’m still baffled as to the high ratings on this website and other travel websites. I’ll be wary to go by ratings again for accommodations I find on this website and other popular travel websites. 1) When we arrived there was no one available to let us in. The reception is open only from 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Check in is at 3:00, no one was even available to leave luggage. It's extremely inconvenient. We wasted a lot of time the day of check-in. We sent multiple WhatsApp messages & could see that they had been received, but there were no responses even though I requested responses. A phone call ended in a hang up on their end. There was a sign on the door stating the hotel would be closed until after the day we had a reservation to check in. This was disconcerting (see photo). Someone should man the desk during normal business hours, 9-5. In speaking with other guests & even the hotel staff at another nearby accommodation, this is a frequent event. Other travelers there during our stay had a similar experience --- wasting a lot of time trying to check in or drop-off bags. 2) Temp control didn’t cool the room. The thermostats in the room don’t control the temperature in the rooms. We had left one of our keys, which work the outlets, plugged in the entire day. The room was still hot when we returned early evening. The owner suggested we leave the key in the outlet totally disregarding my comment that we had done exactly that — left one of the keys in the outlet all day. When we returned at midnight, the room was still hot & this was May. I cannot even imagine the inferno the room will be in the summer months. 3) There's minimal soundproofing. You can hear guests from other rooms and in the hallway.

From entering the hotel to the time we checked out we were treated like royalty. We came to Barcelona for the weekend to celebrate my birthday and on the day of check in I was greeted by beautiful patisserie and a bottle of chilled cabs in our room! Our first breakfast was heralded by complimentary pancakes and the staff were so courteous and helpful. But what made our stay so special was that this isn’t just an ordinary city hotel. They ooze individuality at every opportunity, from the selection of drinks in your room to the evening entertainment and everything else in between. This is our little secret hideaway in Barcelona, and we shall be returning.

A very pleasant stay, we arrived late at night and the woman on reception was polite and spoke great English. Our room was basic but clean and tidy and that's all we wanted and expected. The hotel was fairly quiet, I have read a few reviews about loud music but we had a room at the front of the hotel only 1 floor up and I can honestly say we heard nothing and got 3 good nights sleep. The hotel is situated quite far away from the main part of Barcelona where many of the tourist locations are but its about a 5 minute walk to the nearest tube station and it's all easy enough to navigate so you are there in no time at all. Every night we stayed we retired back to the hotel about 7 or 8pm we sat in the bar area until about 11pm and had a few relaxing drinks. The two people on the bar a young girl and an older gentleman where absolutely fantastic and I cannot thank them enough for making us feel welcome, they bent over backwards to make us feel at home and served us drinks to our table as well as supplying us with some complimentary nuts which never go a miss after a few beers. All in all it was perfect for our long weekend break. Thank you.
