As a military officer, I chose SAKS for my TLA option while waiting for my house to be available. Originally made reservation for a junior suite room to stay for 30 days and told them I had to check out early (15 days early). Luisa - the "manager" told me their policy is that I have to pay for the remaining two weeks even though I am asking for an early check out. This was just the latest issue with this hotel during my stay. Prior to that: 1. After checking in, they ask for credit card payment to cover the reservation. They actually charged me 10% of the 30-day price - they called it "security deposit" 2. Five days later I receive a call to my room after they noticed that I walked in the hotel to inform me that I need to pay my balance right away. “New hotel policy” 3. I ask for a glass of ice to drink..average wait time for the empty bar to provide it: 6 minutes (happened on 3 separate occasions) 4. Asking for an itemized receipt for the payments made so far is a discussion with the staff because they claim it’s only done at the end when you check out. After insisting, they finally provide it. When asked to show the VAT amount on the receipt, they say they can’t do it. 5. Wi-Fi is very intermittent. Do not plan to do any work from your room! It will cutoff and constantly request you enter your room number and last name at least 2-3 times per hour. If you hope to watch even 1 hour of Netflix, be ready to re-enter your Wi-Fi at least 3-4 times. My iPhone 11 connects and as soon as I lock my phone for more than 2 minutes, the WiFi connection goes away as well. 6. Bathroom gets cleaned every so often and you must request it, although they claim it’s done daily. 7. I’ve dealt with three females and two guys there from their staff, and none seemed to care about customer service - worse of them all is Luisa, the "manager". 8. Parking in front of the hotel is not allowed to guests who check in unless you’re the manager, owner, or a white person. Every morning and evening, there is a different vehicle parked there, and when I ask the front desk why this car is allowed to park there...there is no real reason given. I was told I can’t even park there for “2 minutes” to run up to my room. Instead I should look for side street parking across the street - which is always full, or plan B, park in the garage and pay for those 2 minutes. 10. The only positive about the hotel - it’s located “downtown”. Bottom line is that there is nothing worth while here; the suite does not even have a mini fridge! Ben N.

We arrived late at this establishment after a long day on the road. The weather was unseasonably hot and the room wasn't air conditioned, so I did not get much sleep but the next day I purchased a fan and began to realize the charm of this place. The room had everything one needed to be comfortable but a fan. We later found out that one would have been provided if the weather hadn't suddenly turned hot or we have arrived early enough to ask for one. The place is extraordinarily clean and located steps from shopping and food. Breakfast was provided to us with attractive plating and enough food to feed us for several days. The owners are quite friendly and will try to help in anyway that they can.

Walking up Mühlstraße you'd be forgiven for thinking you'd made a small mistake coming here. It's not the most attractive straße in the city. If you've just pulled up in your taxi you might feel the same (It's around a 15-ish minute walk from the station). Once in side it becomes clean, modern and functional, and you think this might be ok after all. Uber friendly staff made checking in a breeze with zero fuss. There is a bar adjacent if you need some refreshments after your trip. Rooms are external to the reception area and are reached by foot or stairs or by elevator. Mine was a single room with double bed, bathroom and small kitchen/dining/entrance vestibule. There's a kettle, microwave, sink and small cooler, can't really call it a fridge, with the usual kitchen utensils. Clean and functional. The bathroom was large with a spacious shower area. Water flow was good with both rain and wand streams available. Again, clean and efficient. The bedroom was big and had oodles of storage space, two people could easily fit all of their stuff for at least a weeks stay. Big TV with 3D (that I didn't make use of) and a sizeable desk for doing the sort of things you'd need a desk to do. There's no restaurant but there are several places nearby, within a 10 minute walk, where one can eat and/or drink. There's a large shopping mall close by with an Aldi and several food/snack outlets available. A nice place and I'd be happy to stay there again. My only criticism is that the rooms don't have A/C. I went in the hottest July this century, with temps up to 38 degrees. This is an anomaly and usually you don't need cooling.

It has a "boutique" hotel feel to it, restaurant and reception on ground floor, a few rooms on the second floor, a few on the third...If you have difficulty climbing stairs, you may wish to reconsider. Pros: The room was nice - two single beds pushed together to make a double. Clean room with all the needed amenities (safe, hairdryer, wifi, etc.). And VERT quiet at night. About a 10 minute walk thru residential area to the main shopping area. The staff is what sells this place. They are very friendly and helpful. Cons: Climbing stairs with baggage to get to the rooms. Reception is closed in evenings and weekends, so it can be a bit difficult to get info. I would consider staying here again ....mostly because of the welcoming staff.

Had to stay in kaiserslautern for a 2 nights Business Trip and enjoyed the comfortable and uncomplicated way the b&b runs. Absolutely recommendable - also for a woman travelling alone. Felt safe and enjoyed the tidieness of the room!

New hotel which has a lot of practical features in the room. The room is relatively small, but has a smart design, as has the bathroom. Everything you need and there is even room for a sitting area and a desk. Nice looking SMEG appliances. Staff very friendly and interested. Breakfast is very good and more or less in line with corona virus measures. Parking on the premises, for free. Fritz Walter stadium in walking distance. Town center also in walking distance, just take the road across the street, walking distance about 10 minutes.

Well, another week in Kaiserslautern and another hotel. Can't really say enough good things about this place. Literally a 10 minute walk from the main station, Hotel Zollamt is a clean, modern designer hotel. Check in was swift and uber friendly, the staff more than helpful. The hotel is stylish, clean and has a welcoming atmosphere. My room was at the rear of the building overlooking the garden and had a spacious balcony. Despite overlooking a residential area the view was pleasing. The room was clean with a comfy bed, loads of storage space and a small fridge. The usual tea and coffee stuff was there. Air con helped as it was a hot week and, thankfully, it was silent. Breakfast was good; bacon eggs, sausages as well as the usual 'continental' fayre. All in all it seems too good to be true, but there was one issue. There's very little close by in the way of anything to do or places to eat, certainly not withing walking distance. If you had a car you'd be smashing. There is an Aldi about 5 minutes away if you like snacky stuff, or need a toolbox! Recommended!

The Novotel Kaiserslautern is situated in a peaceful location on the Betzenberg and close to the town center. All its 149 rooms have modern furnishings and a balcony overlooking the surroundings. The four star hotel also has its own car park.

Pleasant and relaxing atmosphere,; in K-Town proper, but just far enough away to feel as if you are in the country. Variety of tasty meals available, a more than affable wait-crew, good music for your entertainment pleasure. What's not to like about this venue.

We were in Keiserslautern for work and this place was perfect! A very local feel, nestled in the twisty roads of a quiet area. Room was clean and well appointed. Bathroom was smaller, but it did what we needed it to and gave the space some personality. Staff is great here! Very friendly, didn't speak a lot of English, but we made it work. Breakfast had a nice variety of foods and was more than enough to get our day started. Having the restaurant on the first floor was handy on the night when we didn't feel like going back out to search for food. I would definitely stay here again!

Very charming and quaint traditional German hotel at the foot of a castle. Couldn’t have chosen a better place to represent an old town atmosphere for this stay. Rooms are simple, yet very clean and comfortable. We slept very well in the dark, quiet room. Be aware that if you’re a light sleeper, there is a church bell that rings 24/7 next to the hotel. It didn’t both us, but it will some. We thought it was charming and it didn’t bother us at all. Breakfast is included and comes with traditional German breakfast offerings. Fresh coffee and scrambled eggs are made when you arrive in the breakfast area. The food in the restaurant was very good and they always had a full house. Locals come here, too. We walked up to the castle ruins above the hotel and it was a great bonus! We would definitely stay here again!
