Town hopping home from Adelaide, my daughter and I decided to do Western Plains Zoo on the way through Dubbo so we booked here. The carpark was fine, the room was very modern, roomy and with a nice layout. The air-con was effective and dead-quiet. The bathroom was small but practical (and looked great). There was even a cute little shower-timer sand glass in the shower for us to ignore. We were able to cross the main road and enjoy a nearby Thai dinner. The motel is only a block away from the local bottle-o (if you’re into that) and a number of takeaways. All in all a pleasant stay in a quality motel.

Our family of 4 stayed Friday and Saturday nights. We were arriving late and had a phone call from Debbie arranging key collection etc which was great. When we arrived she had put the air conditioner and lamps on in the room for us which we were most grateful for, and fresh milk in the fridge so we could have a cuppa. Our room was quite large and comfortable and very clean. The location was convenient with plenty of food options nearby. We were also impressed the room was given a full clean in between our nights and was fresh when we got back from our days activities. Useful info was emailed to us and we also received a text and email when we left which were really nice touches! We will definitely stay here again!😊

We booked a double room but for whatever reason were upgraded to a King Spa room. To be honest the motel looked a bit drab from the outside but boy did it knock your socks off inside the room. Obviously it had just been renovated, massive bed, 65 inch tv, super luxury bathroom with a spa that was so big ( really too big) that it would take most of Dubbo’s water to fill it up but hey it was still spectacular. Ground floor tucked into a corner so no road noise. Well worth the money and nice people deal with.

I stayed here last friday night while working in the area. I had a superior spa room - the room was spacious, clean and very well appointed. The bed was big and comfortable, the room heater got the room toasty in no time. Spa bath was huge, i was a bit sore from work so a hot relaxing bath was just what the doctor ordered. Great location, easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Would definitely recommend.

I’ve travelled to Dubbo twice in the last fortnight for work. No one likes being away from home for work but from the moment I walked into reception, the hosts made me feel right at home. They checked me in early, no question, and I was in my room by lunchtime. The first night I stayed in a king room, bed was incredibly comfortable. Rooms have great blackout capability which was great as I was doing a night shift, meaning I could get some rest after the early start and travel. I ate in the Lions Pride restaurant that evening, meal was absolutely exceptional. I’m not one to make a big deal of a meal but I actually rang home about it hahaha. Service was incredible and the meal was fantastic. I’m a big eater and couldn’t get through it all, all for under $40 (if you like your tucker, get amongst the mixed grill) Second trip, the only room that was available was a double, but the hosts recognised me straight away and I believe the hosts sorted me a better price and recognised me by face and name straight away, again making the travel away from home feel incredibly homely. Room the second time around was brilliant. Had been recently renovated and had a really homely feel. Again, bed was super comfortable. Again, blackout blinds were great as I had two night shifts and managed to get a bit of sleep during the day. I ate in the restaurant again this time, same scenario, great meal and great service. Spoke with the hosts and mentioned I wanted to check out early in the morning and we sorted the bill etc straight away, no muss no fuss, just happy to help their clients. I even locked myself out of my room and there was no problem, just a laugh and a willingness to help. All in all, the hosts do a great job of making you feel welcome. Great value for money and great service, close to the centre of town and walking distance to food and what not. If I travel to Dubbo again for work, I will only stay here off the back of their exceptional hosts.

We stayed at Country Apartments over New Years for three nights while we visited Dubbo to take our two kids to the zoo (aged 2y and 6 months). We spent a lot more time there than expected due to Dubbo’s insanely hot 40+ degree weather every day which meant we returned from the zoo by lunchtime and had quite long siestas each day. The apartment was great for this, the air conditioning kept the place beautifully cool and there was enough space for the kids to play and not go nuts. The second bedroom only had a fan and not air conditioning which would have been an issue if our kids were older but we just put the travel cots in the main bedroom and stayed in one room so was not an issue for us. The pool was very nice and whilst there were other people staying there we very luckily had the pool to ourselves each time we used it, we only used it in the late afternoon once there was enough shade as it was still 40 degrees in the afternoons! Kitchen and laundry facilities both great. The BBQ area looked lovely but it was unfortunately too hot to sit out there during our stay. Given the drought and water restrictions the gardens still look nice. The only issue we had was that a swarm of bees made themselves at home on one of the afternoons so we couldn’t swim whilst the beekeeper was sorting them out but we went to the Dubbo aquatic centre which has an amazing splash park suitable for little kids. Would definitely recommend.

We always stay here as it is midway on our drive from Brisbane to Melbourne. We are a family of six so get the family suite on the top level that sleeps 6 persons, quieen bed in one room and 4 singles in the other room. Easy parking on site in front of our room and convenient for all the fast food places for meals just down the road. It was very hot for our stay this time (45 C when we arrived at about 6pm!), but the aircon was good and the room comfortable. The hotel is right beside the main road, but we never notice traffic noise in any of the times we have stayed here.

My wife and I (and now our new daughter), have stayed at this motel a large number of times over the last six years. We live about three hours west of Dubbo and come to Dubbo to do some shopping every couple of months. I also stay here for work every now and then. This motel is perfect for the short term stay or the longer term stay. The price for the standard room is comparative with other motels in the area. The rooms are just what you need. Clean, comfy beds, good bathroom facilities and everything works. The breakie is also really good. Parking out the back in a secure carpark. Nice swimming pool. Common laundry facilities, ice machine and a microwave which is perfect for warming baby bottles. We have stayed at other motels in Dubbo before too, but we come back to this one. Why? Because of the staff. We have over the years got to know the front counter staff well and it feels like coming home each time we stay. With the RSL over the road for dinner and shops within a close walking distance, it is perfectly located. Nothing else I can really add. Yes, you can get accommodation in Dubbo thats cheaper or has all of the bells and whistles. But when you want the best, you come here.

After a good experience with this motel in 2017 we returned in January and March 2019 to this well maintained motel for three weeks (with some interruptions in time). The management changed, the rooms are still nice. Good beds, good shower, everything clean, airco, microwave, free WiFi, swimming pool, quiet during day and night, close to Dubbo Zoo and restaurants. The staff is very friendly. As long as our family lives in Dubbo, we'll choose for this motel while visiting the family.

We stayed at the Akuna Motor Inn for three nights and had a pleasant stay. The reception was very welcoming, helpful with advice and friendly. Thank you. Whilst there is some truck road noise, most other establishments situated along the highway would be the same. We did have unit 2 which is one of the furthest away from the road. We felt that the location was good ,and suited us , as it is not too far out of the city centre, close to the Western Plains Zoo and is walking distance to Club Dubbo, which we used for some good value dining. The facilities at Akuna are good and there is choice of a unit or apartment. We elected a unit which was a comfortable size for the two of us. The room was clean, and well appointed with a dining table and chairs, queen and single beds, TV, microwave, ironing board etc. The air conditioning was very efficient. The bathroom was adequate but it was a pain to have the bathroom light and exhaust fan, which was very noisy, on the same switch. If visiting the bathroom during the night, the exhaust fan had the potential to wake the whole complex. This venue represents a good value accommodation and is recommended.

Booked a room the morning of our stay as where we had planned to stay wasnt available wow what a pleasant surprise. Great reception as we checked in and out, friendly staff at the desk and really helpful. Room was more than big enough for the four of us with comfortable beds and great air con that worked really well. Kitchen equipment was better than I could have expected with the ability to self cater including an oven, microwave and full sized fridge. Shower pressure was unbelievably great and off the street on site parking was such a welcome find, in a quiet location and with a park across the street for the kids to play in. Highly recommend we will book again next time we’re in Dubbo.

Selected this motel based on other Trip Advisor reviews. Check in was friendly and efficient and the staff were very helpful. It was clear that the room had been prepared reflecting the "extra" needed because of COVID. I had a problem with TV reception, the first night but it was fixed within 5 minutes of reporting the issue - excellent customer service. The bed was excellent, hot water plentiful and the room very quiet- I was on the ground floor and there was no noise from the room above me ( unlike in some other motels). I would definitely recommend this motor inn to other travelers.

My friends and I stayed here on our way to Cobar and from the time that we walked into reception and met Jeff we knew that we had found a good place.A double room cost $120 per night with a single room at $105 per night. The rooms were extremely tidy and the motel was within walking distance of clubs and takeaway stores. Jeff and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful and it was located in a quiet side street. We enjoyed it so much that we booked it again on our way back home. Recommend it to anyone.

I stayed for 2 nights with my young children and needing last minute accommodation after finding a nearby hotel to be sub standard. The friendly owners were accommodating and there was even Netflix for the kids which was a winner. Comfortable room, clean and tidy. New carpets and clean linen was supplied daily. Rooms were as described and comfortable beds. Shower took a bit of adjusting but otherwise no complaints for the price.

We were tired when we got to Dubbo and also hungry. It was raining heavily and we were anxious to be somewhere dry. Check-in was rather lengthy but not excessively. Our room was clean and we showered and dressed for dinner. We went to the restaurant and asked for a table. There were several empty ones but we were told that the restaurant was fully booked until 8.30. We were invited to sit in the bar area. As we were so tired we said we would reserve a table, go back to our room and return later. Suddenly a table was available. The service is quite good and the food not bad for the price. We had a reasonable breakfast the next day. This hotel/ motel is what one would expect for the price and location.

We stayed overnight here on an ensuite site. The lady who checked us in was one of the friendliest people we encountered on our 3 week road trip. Fantastic customer service! The park is easy to navigate but when we got to our site we were unfortunately pretty disappointed. Whilst we could just drive through on to the site, the site was very narrow and close to the site next to us. Thankfully it was only an overnight stay with fine weather, because there's no way we would have been able to put our awning up. The ensuites are old and in much need of a reno. Was not very clean either. The playground and jumping pillow were good. We found the pool far too cold, even my 5 year old wouldn't get in! Didn't use any of the other amenities. ⁹ Whilst the park is located close to town, it is just so very noisy. Screeching cars, sirens, loud music, trucks...and that was at the back of the park. Overall it was an OK stay but certainly doesn't live up to the NRMA standards that we have experienced elsewhere.

Travelling through and needed a nights accommodation. We found this establishment to be adequate for our needs. Bed very comfortable. Room size good. Tv, fridge, all the necessaries including free wifi. Glasses were short on for drinking tumblers and no wine glasses. Central location to town with easy access on and off the main road. Road noise was minimal and barely heard. The rooms are ageing and looking tired, had a makeover a while ago leaving power points in not so accessible places. Good shower with abundant hot water and supplied toiletries. Overall good value and will most likely use this motel again.

Get together at the Garden Hotel for dinner, first time we had eaten there and I was impressed. Good pub food, lovely outdoor seating areas that are family, kid and adult friendly. You could choose from a number of areas that were in the sun or the shade. Live music was fabulous - although a little loud (hard to talk over). All in all a great place for a pub meal on a summer evening. Staff were a bit slow clearing tables, but friendly and polite.
