|2.62km from city centerThis Four Points property is very close to the Fort Lauderdale port, which makes it ideal for an affordable pre-cruise stay. The lobby is clean and the restaurant/bar offers a nice selection of options. The looked like it had recently been updated but the bones of the room were very dated. The thermostat on the wall did absolutely NOTHING. We needed to control the temperature via the controls on the old-school wall air unit. While the room did cool off, the unit did little to address the humidity in the room. The bathroom was cramped and the shower had limited pressure. When the hotel was last updated, they should have reno'ed the bathrooms to include walk-in shows instead of the super old tubs that are still present. My biggest issue is the soundproofing from the street noise. I've stayed in NYC hotels that had less street noise during the night than this room. If you decide to stay here, request an ODD numbered room as they point away from the street (and to the FLL port).

I reveled with my boyfriend, my family and my friends due to us having a wedding in fort laurderdale easter weekend. The maid services were extremely rude. I did not get a maid to service my room for 3 out of the 4 days we stayed. Keep in mind I paid a lot of money this past weekend due to it being A holiday weekend and considering I had a suite for the weekend!! The maids did not come for 3 days during my stay…we had wet towels piled up, trash piled up and we had to use the pool towels so we could take a shower. After complaining to the front desk they said they would send a maid immediately and no one came until about 430/5 o’clock. At this time it was too late and we had to get ready due to us having a wedding this weekend and dinner reservations on Easter. They then sent what I presume to be a manager to our room. She was extremely rude and was not helpful at all. Instead of offering any assistance or even apologizing for the inconvenience she then made a smart remark and walked away. I’ve never had this problem at the best Western before. They did not offer any accommodations for their mess up but instead ignored the problem till the duration of my stay was over. By the end of my stay our room smelled like wet tails and garbage and garbage so bad that we had to make a pile outside of the hotel room because we could not stand it in the room anymore. I also talked to a few rooms that weekend Who were also having problems with the maid services not coming to their rooms and how rude they were when they saw them. I am extremely disappointed in the best Western Oceanside for this terrible experience and for not even an apology.

We upgraded our room to the honeymoon suite with a jacuzzi in the spacious room which also included a tub bathroom. The resturant food was above average and the staff was pleasant and very helpful. We were 3 minutes from the beach and saw the sunrise on sunday morning. We certainly plan to return and try for an even better upgrade if possible!

I did book 2 rooms over booking.com and already paid in advance so the only job for the front desk was to hand over the keys and inform us about the 200$ deposit for each room - annoying that such things aren’t communicated previous but still not the worst thing. The receptionist was that incompetent that she was not able to collect the money from booking.com. She kept telling us we only had paid for one room and the second one was not paid for yet and we had to talk to booking.com to clear up that issue. Complete nonsense we kept arguing for over half an hour and showing her our credit card recipes and she was 1st unable to retrieve the money from booking and second absolutely rude and not helping. She did not manage to provide us with any receipts and when we askd if we can just take a picture of the sheet we had signet where it stated that at least the 1st room was paid fore (after she was not able to print out a reciept) her college just kept shouting “thats the property of the hotel”. rude dude. Non of the personal there was helpful - i dont want to say any names because i don’t want them to loos there job but stay the hell away from them. So we had to pay for the second room again and I immediately called booking.com. I got to a really helpful girl and she confirmed that everything was paid for and ok from my side - then she called the hotel - after she got back to me she informed me that she talked “to someone who was really familiar with the problem but didn’t want to state their name to her” - like a coward - if you make a mistake stand up to it! Well the nice girl from booking.com did also tell me she had to “lecture the front desk” of the hotel on how to collect money from booking.com - such a joke as if it was not their job to do such things every single day. At that point i was so pissed at the hotel that i would have left if i had not invested that much money! (way to much if you ask me for what they are providing - totally overpriced) Later the girl who messed up at the front desk did inform us she had canceled the extra charge on our credit card - we will see if she did otherwise we will definitely take some legal steps. That was just the start of the stay … we thought we will stay in a nice 4* Hotel like they advertised on booking.com - hahaha such a joke…. On google it is only classified as a 3* hotel so big lie there. The beach is unusable due to huge amounts of sea**** - impossible to swim because they do not even properly clean the beach. The chairs at the pool are free to use but the sound of the air conditioning is so loud that you can not hear the ocean … not what i am hear for - same goes for the balcony (+ plus nice side note that the air conditioning blows right onto your balcony making sitting out there impossible. There is no safe in the room, the hotel does not have a restaurant but there is breakfast, but there is McDonald's next to it and it is time to walk. The room was clean and tidy. The room was nice and spacious, and as usual the beds are awesome!
Cleaning was also good. Frontdesk was very accommodating & friendly.
A huge plus for free parking at the hotel.
A nice & clean pool at the 4th floor, although the wind was somewhat bothersome.
Then there is the restaurant. Really good food/menu for all the non-allergic, but a quite limited for all with gluten or egg allergies.
However the staff make up for this, in particular one server for the 2 days we stayed there - Dimitri. They should really take care of this guy, he is gold & truly understood our difficult time with dealing with these allergies.
There is however a major problem currently at this hotel, that I overheard will be solved in the near future: The elevators.
One hotel of 11(?) floors to share 2 elevators? We ended up spending quite an amount of time just waiting for the elevator to be available.
And believe me, with 3 boys this ain't easy.

I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the room was! It was clean, spacious, with a small kitchenette, ample storage, and an average bathroom. The staff was professional and helpful. I hate to be nickeled & dimed and my only complaint was the $9. parking fee. The place I booked with didn't include that there was a fee, but in fairness to the hotel, their site does mention it. I do have to say the area looked a bit shady at night...?

Lauderdale in the vacation village resort for new years week Our room was dirty & had roaches and we ended up leaving with no where to go and no flights available to go back home We were blessed to find the candle wood suites with 1 room available and when we explained what had happened to us We were treated with such kindness We stayed for 2 days and Yasmin was the hotel front desk clerk who went above and beyond to help us with restaurants and how to get around, she also hunted me up some non dairy creamer for my coffee (when the hotel had none). She made my day without my coffee I would have just walked home She made magic ( I can’t function without my coffee) And she made a horrible trip better As did the luxury & cleanliness of the candlewood This is an old fashioned make your guests Feel at home in modern luxury kind of hotel Thank you Yasmin Thank you Candlewood suites

I was charged an extra $82 per day and was not informed of these charges when I arrived only at check out. They charged me $42 per day to park my car. Nobody notified me of this at check-in or in my booking. When I expressed my outrage the front desk said you will need to speak with the 3rd party you booked with [when I contact the third party I booked with they said speak to the hotel, what a joke]. Then the lady at the front desk pointed out that I was notified and I had initialed it on my check in sheet which was in little fine print on this sheet they give you when you check in and you have to initial each line and there is like 7-12 items....who is going to stand there and read that for an hour? seriously! and I had just traveled all day and I wasn't turning around and going home! Then I noticed at check out again that there is a $39 resort fee per day! [Now I understand this is Ft Lauderdale and on the beach so I get it, it is expensive, but all I ask is for was proper disclosure...let the customer know upfront that you have hidden and secret fees and that you do unethical business...that way I know going in and it is expected. So my room ended up being almost $300 per night before taxes and the additional area fees for a beach hotel there. I booked it at $171 per night and that was why I choose them for the price. List of the other things about this hotel that were awful; no room service [even though they have it on the room phone as a button], no ice or ice machine [ you have to ask for ice to be brought up to your room or go down to the restaurant and get it yourself...I called for ice twice in 4 days and never received it ever, I stopped asking]. The restaurant food is way over priced and poor quality. The service is slow and lacking. Takes 35 mins to get a to-go burger in an empty restuarant. The rooms are old, furniture is dated and very uncomfortable [my tailbone still hurts from sitting in the chair in the room]. Usually no one answers the front desk phone and no one there at the desk when you go down. The bathtub is a death trap [getting in and out and rusted]. Room stunk of a musty odor. The bed was concrete hard, just awful bed very uncomfortable and felt old. The TV picture was so dark you couldn't watch it and they locked down the control buttons for brightness so no way to make it brighter. When I got my car back to leave it was filthy. I understand it being parked but seemed like it was parked outside not in a garage, just covered in dirt it was filthy and I had to go to the gas station and clean the windows good just so I could see. It seemed like nothing but kids worked there mostly. I was given canned answers with an I dont really care attitude when I was checking out and found all of their hidden charges. I felt like they could care less about my concer

|9.23km from city centerI will be mailing a more formal letter of compliant with the BBB on my beyond disappointing stay. To say the least this facility should NEVER be open to the public under such conditions of renovations when it interrupts guests experience. The prices should have been motel rates during such period. Huge ditch greeted in the foyer upon arrival, overwhelming funky odor from grossly soiled carpeting as well. Run down EVERYTHING that was screaming update, to which the room should have been deeply discounted. No proper protection on the mattresses given ALL the concerns of a Pandemic. Cigarette burns on tub, rotting wood on doors, musky A/C units/drapes that were halfway put up without the sheer panels for lighting/privacy. NO HOT SHOWER for EACH NIGHT to which I had to take bird baths in the sink two nights and my final night go upstairs to my SISTER’S ROOM! Unacceptable, they sent maintenance that only confirmed what I knew that the sink and tub gets hot! I NEEDED THE SHOWER TO RELIEVE LONG DAYS OF CARING FOR MY ELDERLY FATHER. And to that point, yes upon booking I may have lacked verbiage “Accessible room” but did say he was 90 and that alone should have been an opportunity for staff/Rep to SUGGEST their customer SERVICE/SALES skills! The hour was late and my father was already settled 80% bedridden so no switching wasn’t applicable after flying in from NJ. The next day the choices by Mell were poor on a floor grossly under construction and rooms that screamed mold/Dust. Trashy halls with over filled bins that spilled onto the floor. Just a complete dissatisfied 3day nightmare that should have been a pleasant experience for MY FAMILY REUNION especially as we blocked over a dozen rooms for our family. Overnight clerk did her best to accommodate and relay msgs to day staff/mgmt however to no avail. Even the pool area was unkept and should have been swept free of debris including the pool. Please refund me one more night as the ONLY hot SHOWER I received was from my own efforts and thank God my sister was there to use her SHOWER.

|3.35km from city centerWe stayed pre and post cruise; five nights before and 3 nights after. As always the staff was wonderful and responsive to our questions and our needs. The rooms we had were in good shape, the beds comfortable, the lighting good. It was so good to have the stove top, the microwave and the refrigerator in the room. The pools are not big, but certainly are useable and refreshing. In our case, the pool was right outside our room. We loved having a coin operated laundry room on site. The first week was quiet at the hotel. The second week, after the cruise, put us right in the middle of Spring break. uh oh -- we brought the average age up! The kids, though plentiful and partyful, were respectful. Ther was loudness in the day, with some breaks of noise at night. The staff always reminded us that we could report if we were unhappy. The location of the hotel is great - 2 blocks from the beach and within walking distance of restaurants and shops. This is our fourth winter stay at the Tranquilo and we are already looking forward to our stay next year - although we will not book in March! The staff, as I said, was wonderful - special mention goes to the following people: Marcia, Davis, Monica, Ivis, Karlo, Camila and Amanda. There are others too, but I failed to get their names. Kudos to them and to the hotel itself. There is one drawback for us oldsters: The TVs have all changed to Roku. There is no option for live TV. But we give 5 stars anyway!

This hotel claimed to be eco friendly but in order to have hot water we had to run the shower for at least 15 minutes. We reported this 3 times and eventually we gave up with the hotel and contacted booking.com who kindly assisted us by asking the hotel to upgrade us to a suite. This itself took 2 phone calls for 2 different booking.com agents, as the first request was not met and even the second attempt took forever as nobody answered the phone. The hot water was slightly better once moved but not much. Housekeeping only come once a week. They claimed this was due to Covid but we were not told about this upon check in. When we asked about having our room serviced the staff were very disgruntled and said it was only every 3 days but we could ask for house keeping for specific days if required. Not only did the story change from 7 to 3 days but when we did ask it wasn't done, unless you called and asked twice at least. Staff are unfriendly and sigh not only on the phone (that is if they even answer the phone) but in person! Completely disinterested, unhelpful and rude. Without a doubt, the worst customer service we have ever experienced in any hotel ever. The bar area is lovely but both times we went down for a drink there were no staff so we went elsewhere. Do not stay at this place - this is not what you would expect from the Marriot chain - extremely disappointing.

I was apprehensive to stay here after the reviews I read online which is why I came here to leave a good one! This is a 5-star stay at a 4-star property with a few caveats: - pool bar service: may be the rudest bartenders I have ever seen at a Marriott property, they could use some service training. It was as if the hotel guests were a bother to them. (The towel attendant on the other hand was very nice!) - the breakfast amenity for platinum elite is confusing and it shows it’s not just the guests that are confused. I was handed a voucher that reads “good for continental breakfast for 2, gratuities included”. When I got to the lobby bar that services breakfast, I was told the voucher was good for $12 off (and nothing on the menu is $12 or less) — and that we’d need a second voucher for my wife. They eventually took the $24 off our bill but I will say I’ve stayed at tons and tons of Marriott properties and have never owed a balance on a platinum breakfast. The breakfast was just ok, we opted to go to the “top hat” across the street the next day and it was amazing! Take the points instead of $12 off. The good stuff that I’d note; - the Dalmar does have free bottled water. My experience is you had to ask for it. - pool is beautiful though the deck is just ok. - rooms are really nice though I found it to be very cold. And I love AC, just couldn’t find a comfortable temperature. - full size shampoo/conditioner/body wash bottles in shower and hand wash/lotion is a nice touch. - I didn’t take advantage of these but the hotel offers access to a yoga studio below, and chairs/umbrella at the Ritz Carlton’s beach. I’d return but probably only for quick trips (3 nights or less).

At the time of check-in, there were only two rooms facing the Atlantic Ocean, one super-road, but there was a bay on the side of the road where the yacht was moored, so the hotel explained that it was also a sea view room. Hotel facilities are old, but the location is good The window is a vast sea, and the road is the beach. This marriott is much worse than Miami, but the price is much more expensive. Parking costs $34 a night. You can consider going to the self-parking less than 50 meters from the hotel, as long as 1.7 dollars for 10 hours.
