We stay in Stockport quite often but always stay over the road as this place has no kerb appeal, however our usual hotel was full so with some trepidation we booked Trivelles. The weed strewn grounds and out of use conservatory with boarded up windows did nothing to allay our concerns. However on entering the building I was pleasantly surprised, a small reception with a friendly receptionist was good and as we walked to our room the corridors were warm and clean and well decorated. The keyless lock worked first time (a pet hate ) and in we go ,the room was a little dark being on the ground floor but had everything we needed. A great comfy double bed, a fridge, kettle and microwave along with complimentary tea, coffee etc. On the wall was a large free-view tv and the heating was working. The refitted bathroom had a new shower was nicely tiled and had free toiletries. The room had a few niggles which would cost very little to put right. There was no bedside cabinet on one side of the bed and on the same side no bulb in the bedside light. The tap in the bathroom was loose the door needed planing and would not shut and there was only a bath towel each, no hand towels. We had ask for a hairdryer although one was listed on the booking page but this did not really matter. No one could argue with the price of this place but with a little TLC a good stay could be very good. The outside needs lighting up so you know its in business, the conservatory being used for storage needs sorting and the grounds need weeding and smartening up it will pay dividends.

Had the pleasure of looking round the leisure and spa facilities at The Waterside Hotel the other day. Alex showed us around, he was extremely welcoming and informative. He took the time to show us around and explain all of the facilities to us (there’s so much available and so much space so there was a lot to see!) including all the changes that have been made to make the venue Covid safe. I particularly liked that the gym had lots of different areas to it rather than one large intimidating space as can be the case with other gyms. We had looked around another premium gym in the area and found that The Waterside really had the wow factor so decided to sign up straight away. Beautiful pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi all now open again after initial covid reopening restrictions. I’m particularly impressed with that the leisure centre has a separate ladies gym accessed through the changing rooms but the main gym area also had a very friendly non-intimidating feel to it also. And the gym being open 24 hours is amazing and means I have no excuses to not go! Excited to try some of the classes (of which there’s a great variety) getting involved with the SWIMTAG system of monitoring swimming. And learning more about the Mywellness system that’s all linked through the fancy Waterside app. I’m really looking forward to my gym visits now... and not just because I plan to watch Netflix on the treadmills then have a pint in the bar after(although let’s face it it’s an added bonus of joining a luxury facility like this).

Me and my fiancé have stayed here 3 times now and got engaged here a couple of years ago. It’s an incredibly beautiful hotel, charming and quirky, every room we have stayed in has been totally different. The staff are always friendly and polite, and the rooms are always very clean. Highly recommend booking a room with a bath! We will be staying here for our wedding night, if we hadn’t already booked a wedding venue we would have also booked this hotel for the whole wedding.

The ability to check-in online was excellent so we could have the day to ourselves and just go to the hotel to sleep. There is a restaurant and bar attached but no residents bar after hours (not necessarily a bad thing as you don't get a lot of noise so get a great nights sleep in the very comfortable bed) The night staff couldn't have been more helpful, we were given a pass for the car to park. We decided not to have the breakfast as it would have been almost £20 for 2 for a full breakfast, There was a continental option for around £7.50 each. Always worth checking the hungry horse menu for the old rectory Stockport. We were going on to family but otherwise there is a good Golden years menu for a light lunch. Signing up for the emails gets you vouchers for money of meals etc so you can reduce cost for the family on breaks and through the year if you register family birthdays. Clean, comfortable, secure, close to town centre and excellent staff. Room price good until you add on the breakfast.

My husband and I arrived yesterday and depart tomorrow. Very helpful staff on reception who answered all our questions on how to get to the Crematorium Rowan Chapel - hadn't realised it was so close. I ate by myself on Sunday evening at the Beefeater next door to the hotel as my husband was not hungry. Meal was lovely. Only comment I have about the hotel is nobody told us about any meal deals and restaurant asked us both nights if we had one. If we had been made aware of this deal we probably would of taken it. i work for a hotel in Stilton , Peterborough so I'm always critical of other hotels we visit. Room was fine and we had good night's sleep.

Modern hotel. Large, comfortable, quiet family room. Pool area re-tiled, clean with large changing area, lots of individual shower cubicles & separate areas 4 drying hair & added bonus of hair straighteners. Towels provided in sealed plastic bags. Numbers controlled by a booking system which could only be booked after check-in. We checked availability by phoning ahead of our stay & paid early check-in £5 so we could arrive at 1pm which meant we had no issues booking the pool on both of the days we were at the hotel. Restaurant quiet. Everyone said their food was tasty. Good kids menu at reasonable price. Breakfast wasn't usual buffet which is understandable. Had choice of traditional breakfast contain usual eggs, bacon etc with orange juice & yoghurt, vegetarian or continental which included cereal, croissant, orange juice & yoghurt. All included tea or coffee. No option to exchange items but waitress was happy to provided extra toast when we asked at time of ordering & provide soya milk. Check out staff deserve a special mention as they helped to look for my son's missing face mask & promised to ring if it was found. Would definitely return to this hotel.

Stayed here last night in room 1. The hotel and pub have put in place excellent COVID measures: staff wearing masks, gel stations, one way system, I witnessed a staff member reminding a customer to wear a mask whilst not seated. We were shown to our room which was very clean and for extra peace of mind there was anti bac spray and clothes and hand sanitiser in the room if we wanted to use it. Our room was in the stables with the door located next to the front door to the pub and facing the road. I was a little worried we would hear road noise and customers exiting the pub but we heard nothing other than another guest snoring! The pub has introduced a one way system so customers actually exit via the rear entrance. We had a good night sleep and had an excellent breakfast (full English and scrambled eggs with salmon. The staff in the pub were very attentive and nothing seemed too much trouble. I would not hesitate to recommend this place and would stay again.

I gave this 5 stars not because it's a 5 star hotel but I got exactly what I wanted which was basic, economical amneties in a clean and safe neighborhood with access to everything from the busses, trains, post office, pubs, Mkee Dee's and an ASDA supermarket across the street and even with an atm that doesn't charge you fees. There is no receptionist but there is a number to call on the window and they will answer or call you back quick. Spencer and mom VERY cool and friendly. Would definitely go back.
