When I arrived, I added 30 dollars and changed to a small balcony with mountain views. It feels very worth the money. The comfortable attitude is good. The hotel restaurant is also very good. The average consumption is about 30 dollars. The taste is OK, mainly because the scenery is particularly good.

Very disappointed in these accommodations. Traveled with another couple. We each received windowless rooms(no outdoor view)with a small balcony that faced into a dated, old atrium, spotted with a few old chairs and scuffed tables. The rooms did not have air conditioning and were not very clean. We stayed 4 nights and did not receive any servicing of the room. The indoor lighting was bad and the TV was small and outdated. The bathroom and one of the beds directly faced the door into the hallway, so it was a free show to anyone walking by if the door was opened while in bed. It did include a daily breakfast Buffett which never changed, but it was good enough to start our day. I also plan to write contact the Rocky Mountaineer train company that booked these as part of our package. We had a voucher to dine in the restaurant and it was pretty good. Also location was very good. Walkable to downtown and the river. Pictures show the accumulated dust on the tv, dresser and picture frames.

Very warm and friendly staff members upon arrival who gave us all the necessary information and directions in an efficient manner. The sauna / steam room area was unfortunately closed but due to this if you went to the Banff Upper Hot Springs and returned with your receipt then they would reimburse you (I forgot to get my receipt but it was fine as we intended to go there anyway). The room was lovely and large with a Mountain View, Nespresso machine and large TV, lots of desk space and plug sockets / USB ports which was great. The wardrobe has plenty of hangers for clothing, lots of draw space, huge bathroom with a large powerful shower and nice shower products to use. The location of the hotel is perfect and having an on-site restaurant, coffee shop and gift shop is very handy. Wherever we went within the hotel it was always warm, which was great when coming out of the snow. However, there were some issues; we weren’t sure if the blinds went down with a switch by the side, as it didn’t do anything, but rolling them down was SO noisy, there was a lot of dust and dirt behind the window facing desk, a random satsuma down the side of the cabinet with the Nespresso machine on (despite all other areas being very clean) and there was no light in the corner where the luggage stands were. We were also curious as to why the heater / air conditioner unit faces directly on to the bed, if it was on then you got so hot and dry in the night. There is big potential for this to be 4/5* with just some simple adjustments and cleaning. Although we would happily say here again.

This is one of the most popular hotels in Banff, but perhaps because it was the off-season, I stayed there at a very reasonable price. In particular, there is a heated pool and sauna on the hotel rooftop, so you can enjoy the heated pool while looking at the snow-capped Rocky Mountains. I think it will be the best experience

We stayed at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel this past long weekend. A mini getaway for my husband and I. They had excellent covid screening measures in place - from the front entrance staff, to the elevators, to our room. We were gifted with a PPE kit that contained masks, gloves, and sanitizer. The room was small but clean. Air conditioner was great as it was a 30 degree weekend. The pool was refreshing and social distancing measures were in place and well monitored. We ate at the Chop House in the hotel. Very classy (expensive) but worth the money spent. Can’t wait to stay here again! Friendly staff.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights this past month. Our check-in process was very quick and efficient. The front desk staff were very friendly. We were fortunate to have a first floor room because the elevator was out of order. Our room was a good size and clean. They have a VERY interesting pool that is built like a cave and heated by hot springs. The water is pretty warm, so you might have to get out every now & then. A great way to relax after a long day hiking. It also is open through the roof so you can see out. Because we were often out early we were only able to do the Continental breakfast 1 day. It was nothing special, but it was free. We both ordered sides of bacon as an extra charge. NOTE: The hotel DOES have bear spray for complimentary use. This is important if you're planning to go out hiking. It's probably $40-50 to buy in town. This location is also a good walking distance to the main downtown area. There's also a local bus line that runs by if you don't want to walk or have to find a parking spot. Overall.....we had a great stay, would go back and would recommend

The hotel is on the hillside of Tunnel Mountain, a little distance from the town centre. There must be a car to travel, otherwise it is inconvenient. There is no air conditioning in the room, it is still a bit hot in summer, there should be no problem in winter, you can open a window, but you need to ponder for a while, very technical, screened, mosquitoes are estimated in the woods. When the hot pool was under maintenance, my daughter actually ran to the hotel next to it, saying there was a water playground and a slide. The most unexpected and most satisfying place is that when the scenery on the small gazebo behind the house is seen, three deer walked through the woods behind the house. It may be that the sun goes down to the nest and enjoys the wildlife in the eyes. Very lucky, it is estimated. It is also a kind of experience that is not too much.

Arrived at the Hidden Ridge Resort after a long drive and were immediately impressed with the friendly welcome. The ladies at the front desk were awesome and even arranged an upgrade for our (slightly) complicated family makeup. Special praise goes to Amelia who always greeted us with a smile every day and checked to see everything was OK. Although no eating establishment on site, the gas BBQs were clean, good to go and we used them on the first night (front desk provided BBQ tools). The bus into and out of town is available from the site and Banff itself is absolutely awesome. This is a great place to stay.

Would probably stay here again; the new rooms do have a nice Mountain View and are very clean and modern. So many quirks though, of this place! Nothing really an issue (everything important, like soft bed, cleanliness, and courteous staff, was present), mostly just amusing: 1. No confirmation email sent; I got a confirmation number from the website, though. When I called to confirm it actually went through, it had. They gave me a second confirmation number over the phone (?) 2. Luggage cart is so poor that it’s substantially harder than taking several trips to carry the luggage; the wheels barely work 3. The elevator and main lobby are closed 11p to 7am for some reason, and you take stairs. It’s not clear what the status is on the doors involved in this process; some seem almost accidentally propped open. 4. Room layout and adornment was bizarro. Eg shooting for luxury appearance, but an odd metal side table that was basically a drum; it was in the way of the mini fridge; the mini fridge was in a cabinet that seemed to have room for a microwave also, but didn’t actually have one; the bathroom door didn’t lock; the bathroom door slid and was extremely difficult to close without making a huge banging noise; there was both a bathtub * and* a separate shower, which seemed like a waste of space. The TV stand had what looked like a sheet of granite glued to the countertop. 5. Only one washcloth was in the room, took several requests to finagle another from the front desk 6. No pen and paper to write notes 7. The fridge door was half falling off It was, however, overall nice with a Mountain View, and clean, it’s worth repeating, though.

This motel was great and affordable. It is only 15 mins walk to Banff downtown. There is a Gas station and A&W in front. Which is great! One morning we bought breakfast there and ate in our rooms. Our room itself was pretty clean. It seems like they newly renovated it. So it look pretty new. I love how they were lights underneath the beds. And the lights could be dim. The check in was superb, it was all done in the app. So no need to check in or check out in person. I would stay at this motel again. It was such a great experience ! Oh also if you have rooms on the first floor you can easily park your car in front of your room which we loved. Lastly, whatever you see on the pictures is what the rooms actually look like in real life.

We stayed here last year and at that time had issues with the Wi-Fi. This time it was with the beds and the temperature of the room. First off, the layout of the room was odd. I booked 2 queen beds and the one bed was right at the door. I prefer a firm mattress and this one was very soft. I had to be careful getting up out of bed as I felt like I could fall right off the bed as the edge was so mushy. The room was hot and we couldn't turn on the AC as the front desk said they disabled it as it still wasn't AC weather yet in Banff. They suggested we use the fan, which we did, but all it did was blow around the hot air. The bedroom window didn't open, and I wasn't comfortable leaving the balcony door open overnight. There was also something in the room that both my son and I were allergic to. Not sure if it was the abundance of feather pillows or something else in the room. The bottom line, years ago we had no issues with this hotel but the last 2 visits have been very mediocre. I won't be staying here again.

Super cozy and comfy hotel. Stayed here with my partner in July, where we went for a hiking vacay in Banff. The room was a good size, and I loved the private double-tub after a long hike! The pool area was okay, could have been cleaner, but okay facilities. A special shout out to our receptionist, a great young woman (didn’t get her name) who offered brilliant hiking recommendations and was generally just super cool and helpful! The complimentary roam pass offered by the hotel was great for transportation, but a good to know is that it does only covers local routes, thus not routes to Lake Louise or Johnston Canyon (these must be bought separately). Thanks for a great stay :-)

We returned last week from a 6 night stay at this hotel. We requested a large room with balcony and easy access to parking, since we are in our 80s. We also requested air conditioning, which not all of their rooms have. Kudos to Lily for helping us choose the perfect room for us. Our room was modern and spatious, with a kitchenette with microwave, stovetop, coffeemaker, and refrigerator. The large bathroom had loads of counter space and an extra large stall shower. There was a small table with two chairs for enjoying breakfasts in our room. Location of the hotel was also ideal for us. We were surrounded by mountains and beautiful scenery - away from the noise and traffic in the heart of the city, although only a few minutes away from the fantastic restaurants in Banff. As others have mentioned, this hotel provides bus passes for travel to the downtown area, with bus stops virtually at the hotel doorstep, which we used daily. It only took a few minutes on the bus to get into the heart of the city, which is so much easier than driving through Banff and trying to find convenient parking. Highly recommended!!

All the staff were really friendly and helpful, with some good tips on where to go and what to do - was pointed towards some great MTB trails. Kitchen was always cleaned thoroughly after breakfast, the rooms were cleaned regularly and the shower is good. Stayed in a mixed dorm for a week and had a couple of small issues with a ”princess” in the bunk above me - and mentioned it to the staff, who said they would have a word if required. The ”princess” left - so there was no need for them to intervene - but it was good to know that they won't put up with disruptive guests. Location is a short (10min) flat walk from the very centre of Banff - so couldn't ask for a better location.

The breakfast is very rich. The beds in the hotel twin rooms in the United States and Canada are double beds. Sleeping four people is definitely not a problem. The hotel does not interfere with sleeping a few people. The double bed is very wide and the children are more than enough to sleep. There is a Chinese-speaking waiter at the reception desk, who will answer questions and answer questions patiently. The hotel is very close to the center of Banff town, and the bus stop is very convenient at the door.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in October 2022. We found the front office staff very friendly and able to answer all our questions. It was nice having coffee, tea, and infused water available in the front lobby at all times. The rooms were well decorated and clean. Our room had a microwave, mini fridge and a Keurig with pods and cups. Very convenient. We also had a great view of the mountains from our room on the third floor...with a balcony, two seats and a table that we used often. The odd number rooms are located in the front of the hotel with a view of the mountains. Rooms with even numbers are in the back and overlook a courtyard and other buildings. Parking was convenient and easy to access. The only drawback was the breakfast included with our stay. We ate in the breakfast area 5 times and every time we ate we ended up with syrup on our arms or clothes from the previous diner. We never saw the tables being wiped down at all. The food was okay. Basically the same thing every day. This hotel is within walking distance of a grocery store and all the shops and restaurants down the main street (Banff Avenue) and the side streets I would have rated this a hotel 4.5 if I had the option. I would stay there again and would definitely recommend it.

I stayed at the HI Banff for just 2 nights, and got to experience 2 different ‘types’ of private rooms. I had initially booked online for a 4-6 female dorm (there weren’t any private rooms left on the third agent site when I had placed my booking), but when I asked to be switched to private upon arrival, I was fortunately offered the option to stay at a 6-person dorm - all by myself - for the first night, and then move over to a private log cabin for the second. Both were interesting experiences, and the room decor (especially with the electronic hearth in the log cabin) definitely made you feel like you were staying at a quasi-wilderness hostel. It was fun on the whole, despite the slight inconvenience of having to move between the two nights. Both the shared shower room and the private en suite shower/bathroom were clean and well-maintained, with decent water pressure and hot water supply, which are extremely important things to have when you’re visiting Banff in its subarctic state...! I didn’t use the kitchen or patron the hostel’s restaurant (called Cougar Pete’s), so unfortunately can’t comment on those aspects. I will say, however, that the only downside of this hostel would be its relative distance from downtown Banff (i.e. the centre of Banff Avenue where all the shops and restaurants are located) - it takes a good 20-min uphill walk from Banff Avenue up to Tunnel Mountain Rd where the hostel is located, and for any season that isn’t late spring, summer or early fall (okay, so winter is the biggest issue I guess), I don’t think you’d find walking for 20 plus minutes out in -10 degree Celsius conditions quite the idea of a pleasant stroll, especially after dinner when it’s dark and bitterly cold, lol. There’s of course the option to take public transport (the Roam transit bus), with Bus No. 2 stopping at Douglas Fir station (the hotel right next to HI Banff), but bear in mind this is a bus that comes at 25-minute intervals. So, not the most convenient arrangement, and something to be aware of when planning your itinerary. Overall though, I really enjoyed staying at the HI Banff, and found it a rather lovely experience as a first-time visitor to Banff. On a side but related note, I’ve rarely been let down by the HI chain, and I’ve stayed at more than 7 HI hostels by now...
