Staff were so helpful and friendly and accommodating, the room was awesome had everything you needed, microwave fridge ect, Netflix foxtel YouTube, very clean, great location! On the lake! Amazing views , Close walk to shops club beach if u don’t mind walking , laundry facilities and safe! You couldn’t get into the building unless u had your own key which just added to great security, also close to hospital which in my case was very helpful, I would recommend this hotel to anyone! So happy with my experience!

|1.83km from city centerDisapointed that on arrival, we were given a piece of paper, (which we did not read until day 2), advising that the room would not be serviced daily, (by that time I had put the towels on the floor to be changed) only if you stayed for over a week then your room would be serviced after day 3 or 4, you can ask for clean towels but at a charge. Also you must remove rubbish and put it in the garbage room shute on leaving, otherwise your credit card would be charged. I have never experienced this in any hotel/motel, even 2-3 stars, resort any where else in the world. We stayed 4 days, on day 3 my husband asked for more toilet paper and clean towels, husband asked why our room had not been serviced, we were told, it was a studio appartment, reception was quite flippant, but agreed to the request, although did not replace either, had to go ask a second time, told we did not have to pay for the clean towels.

There is a boardwalk under construction which will like all the nearby beaches. A great selection of good cafes, restaurants, liquor store and IGA downstairs. The only problem we’ve had was that the floor needed a mop, one of the showers looked dirty with soap scums on the shower screen and no spare toilet paper rolls (existing rolls were almost running out!!). We’ve only found 4 towels for a booking for 6 people. The parking was easy downstairs of the building and the luggage trolleys were handy. Will definitely visit again.

We were met with friendly staff at the hotel who were extremely accomodating by ringing us when our room was ready so we could check in earlier. This was greatly appreciated. We requested an ocean view room in advance and our request was met. We were on level 6 in what looked like a newly refurbished room. The room was clean and comfortable with an outstanding view!! The breakfast included is only a small amount of options but I think the meals it’s self are generous and had a good range. We really enjoyed our stay and would come again. . The staff were wonderful, the room was great and the location was outstanding.

|0.76km from city centerWe finally had the opportunity to meet a few wonderful hosts in person: Mariana, Ines and Jackson! They were most gracious, efficient, and definitely guest-focused! However (isn’t there always an “however”?) an issue occurred regarding a malfunction television set. This was reported on Sunday. 2 April; the engineer came to our room and confirmed the existence of the problem. He indicated he could not replace the television until Monday. We were not compensated for the missed night with a few round-about-reasons as to why not, e.g., 1) the rooms are individually owned and the owner had to be contacted to authorize the purchase of a new television which could not be done until Monday; 2) had we reported the issue earlier, a replacement television might have been available; 3) it was neither the fault nor the responsibility of the Rumba staff that the television failed; 4) the front desk did not have the authority to offer compensation. These “reasons” are interesting but did not address the root issue, namely we were denied benefit of the full amenities expected for the duration of our stay. Now, to a much larger issue and significantly more important: On Monday morning, 3 April, DESPITE OUR HAVING THE “DO NOT DISTURB” SIGN INDICATED ON OUR DOOR, THE ENGINEER DISREGARDED IT AND KNOCKED LOUDLY SEVERAL TIMES! When I opened the door he indicated he was there to install the new television. When I firmly pointed to the “do not disturb” sign that he did not respect, he repeated that he was there to install the new television. Needless to say, my wife and I were both very upset as we were still in our dressing gowns and were leisurely enjoying a cup of coffee on our balcony. This instance certainly ruined our stay!! The front desk staff did not even apologize for the intrusion. When checking out on Tuesday, 4 April, when I mentioned the violation of one of the most sacred policies of any hotelier (i.e., honour and respect the “Do Not Disturb” sign of the guest, then, and only then, were we told they were sorry but that the engineer was only doing his job☹ As a follow-up, I sent an email to the General Manager and he replied that the ”Do Not Disturb” sign was for housekeeping only -- so, beware that if you want an afternoon nap or merely want to be left alone, the ”Do Not Disturb” sign will NOT prevent an unwanted intrusion!

|0.55km from city centerWe arrived before reception closed (as advertised) but unfortunately had closed early due to Covid. Have the on-site manager a call who directed us to a key safe where we got our key and all of the information we need. Our room was modern, lovely, quiet and overlooked the lake. Was very relaxing watching the container ships in the distance out to sea & the stingrays, fish & swans that make the lake their home. It was clean, tidy and well equipped. Bed was comfortable. Signs were placed in 2nd bathroom and 2nd bedroom due to Covid. We didn’t need to use them. Unfortunately we couldn’t get the wifi to work, but this didn’t bother us. We were able to catch an Uber easily to/from Sunshine Coast stadium to watch the football (or an easy 45 min walk according to google). Sunshine Coast hospital was across the road. Cafes within walking distance, Shopping centre close by, as well as restaurants and eateries. Night quarter precinct next door to shopping centre, but we didn’t go. Short drive to the beach. Will stay here again if staying on the Sunshine Coast

Super close to shops, restaurants and the nightquarter which made for a nice night out. Would highly recommend for a short getaway if you’re looking for peace and quiet.

|0.1km from city centerWe chose this Motel as it was the only accommodation in this area where we needed to stay that was pet friendly. With that said we enjoyed our 2 night stay, the room was well presented and clean.. No doubt the style of room is typical of those older motel rooms you see in the movies but its presented in a way that gives it a more modern day feel.. The location of the motel is brilliant being only a block back from the beach, waterfront cafes, beach front parks and walkways. Best for us right there is also the off the leash beach for dogs just perfect.. The motel is on a main road and corner of Moffat Beach that is quite busy so we thought it could be a bit noisy for sleeping. But for us we had a great nights sleep which could have been due to the very comfortable bed but more likely the travelling and chasing our dog up and down the beach. If there was a down side for staying at this motel it would the car parking is extremely tight and the walls of the motel are a bit thinner than motels built today so you can hear a little bit of noise from other rooms.. But you pay for what you get...

The full kitchen was equipped with everything you could need. The view from the balcony (which every apartment has) was amazing. Nice pool and bbq area also. Rose and Shaun are friendly and helpful hosts. I had a great stay and hope to revisit next year.

There was enough space to ensure we weren't living on top of each other, the views were spectacular of Bulcock Beach and the Glasshouse Mountains, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Aspect is a short walk to Bulcock Beach, Kings Beach and the main street. The Pastry Lab on the ground floor of the building was our go to for coffee each morning and there were plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Grocery shopping is also within walking distance with IGA 250m away and Coles 1.1km away (if you are happy to walk that far!).

There was a used tissue and other rubbish under the bed, the ceiling fan and bathroom exhaust fans were very dusty, the tub chairs (advertised as a sofa) were worn out and uncomfortable with fabric covers over them which were wrinkled and poorly fitted. The cleaning under and around them also looked like it had not been carried out for quite some time, just like under the bed. The glass turntable of the microwave was not wiped clean before my arrival either. Next morning, after my pleasant walk around town and around the foreshore, I met up with the cleaning / management staff. The lady, was my contact person upon booking. She was apologetic when I mentioned my dissatisfaction about the cleaning, however the male cleaner / staff member who was helping her, was quite rude and confronting, and stated that they only clean under the beds once a month. I had paid for Two nights accommodation with the option for extending if the weather was bad (as I was riding my motor bike) After the above issues, I decided to move out early, forfeit my extra day, and found alternative accommodation. I would NOT recommend the City Centre Motel in Caloundra to anyone and suggest that the Male Cleaner (or whatever he is) requires a lot of training in Customer Relations and in how to Properly Clean a Motel Room.

|0.26km from city centerRandom place I must say it’s not a typical pub hotel no one around at check in time had to call reception and wait at the door after calling before to ask how to check in and told to wait until 2. Meanwhile trying to talk over the generators that for someone reason are meant to power this whole complex. Lost power during the night and in the morning. How are you meant to run a hotel or business with inconsistent power source. A hotel that is for people should have power.

The shower was beautiful the room is modern and clean. Having a swimming pool would be great in the summer ( to cold for us this stay) Lots of parking available and it was quiet. Would stay again it’s great value for money. The only thing is check in is inside in the dining area, there is a reception area that was unattended I had to go to the bar and ask but they got somebody to come quickly.

I was met at reception by the very friendly hostess Desleigh who explained details of the accommodations and the area and was very helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean. It was upstairs and had a double bed and a single bed. There was a fridge, tea and coffee provisions and a tv. The bathroom was modern and equipped with soap and shampoo. The room was air conditioned. There is a swimming pool and undercover parking. Then motel was fully booked the night we stayed, but it was quiet and we slept really well. Its a short walk to downtown Caloundra, where there are lots of restaurants. There is an Aldi and a pub a very short distance away, and a Woolworths and bottle shop slightly further (but still walking distance). This is a basic motel, not a 5 star resort, but if you set you expectations accordingly we found it a great place to stay. I recommend it and really enjoyed staying there.

|0.39km from city centerUpon checking in, the foyer and reception area smells like cigarettes. One thing I can compliment this hotel on are the staff at check in who were very friendly and helpful. The room itself is very dissapointing. The carpet is dirty, the air con is only in the living room which just simply does not reach the bedroom. The fan in the bedroom creaks. The bed is so old you can feel the springs and it is almost like a trampoline. You would almost consider sleeping on the couch. The toilet is at the end of the hallway in the bedroom with NO DOOR. The shower head is so clogged the water kind of sprays everywhere except on you. The soaps and supplied shampoos, etc are fine and there are enough towels and linens. The room is however, sad and dated and simply depressing. The curtains are filthy and have holes in them. From 5am a dog, presumably somewhere in the complex, was barking non stop till 7:30am. It was loud and noisy, hot and humid. I felt really uncomfortable in this hotel. People live here, and you almost feel like an intruder and they watch you and look at you like you are a criminal on their property….! It’s an unusual, gloomy place and I would not stay here again.
