Can’t brag about the Hoxton enough! We had a lovely stay in Portland thanks to this hotel. The girls working the front desk, August and Joy, went particularly out of their way to accommodate us. They upgraded us rooms and helped us work out some missed travel info. They also wrote us three separate lists of their favorite restaurants for each meal of the day. We went to several of these places and were not disappointed. Our favorite part of our stay was their lounge area in the lobby. It’s a massive space with tons of vintage couches, tables and chairs. They have a coffee shop down there as well. It was perfect for our morning devotional time reading our bible and there was plenty of space between us and other guests. Sadly we missed out on their rooftop bar, but it sounds like they are opening that soon. Can’t go wrong staying here!

I led a group of 25 people to Portland for a meeting. I chose the Kimpton Vintage Portland from a list our organization's meetings and conferences bureau provided. It was a great choice. We had a great meeting room. The meals were good and in a nice private room. The staff was always available for any requests. The rooms were great. My partner who spent a lot more time in the room found it very comfortable. There were plenty of outlets for both AC and USB. The three-sided clock was genius-you could see the time display from three sides. The bed was real comfortable and the heating responsive. He rates it the best one we have stayed in. They had free loaner bicycles to explore Portland. They offer a happy hour with wine sampling every evening and some times hors d'oeuvres. They are even just a block from the light rail, making it simple, economical ($2.50 for adults and $1.50 for seniors), and environmentally responsible to get there from the airport. I strongly recommend it for business or leisure trips.

Hotels Near The Mandarin House In Portland Review

We had a wonderful stay. If I had not read the reviews ahead of time I could have been unhappy about the construction & narrow roads leading into the facility. It is a bit off the main path. The key coded entry into the underground parking is a bit awkward. That being said we were pleased with our stay because of the service from the staff & even the construction workers. Lobby area part of the remodeling process. Our greeting was eye to eye contact and smooth check in. Even the person working The Bistro smiled and gave us a greeting. The room was larger than expected, very clean & fresh. Next time will ask for a view of the river. We opted for dinner at The Bistro and were pleasantly surprised with the personality of the staff. His promptness in taking our order & attentiveness to detail made this a "almost home" feeling. Food was fresh off the grill & hot. We returned for breakfast also. My wife recommends their Avocado toast. This is an interesting Bistro because it includes Starbucks and has a full service bar. The dining space is large with many semi private areas. It looks out towards the large patio area overlooking the Columbia River.

Most importantly, our king size bed was VERY comfortable, as were the sheets and comforter. Check in was a breeze and the room was clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was a bit dated and small, but still clean and very functional. Due to COVID-19, breakfast consisted of beverages and packaged muffins. Location was very convenient to the airport. There are a number of fast food and budget restaurants within a half mile radius of the hotel. Price was among the best in the airport area - great price for the value received!

I started an 11 day trip along the Oregon coast here and spent our last night in Oregon here also. LOVE it here. The room and bathroom are extremely clean. Beds are comfortable. Small continental breakfast of coffee, tea, granola bars, pastry and fruit, just enough to hold you over until lunch. This motel is so close to the freeways which take you anywhere fast. Wonderful location to the airport, so close and convenient. Out of my 10 nights staying in different motels this was by far one of the best and the price is so right!!!!!

My husband, along with various family members, has stayed here for almost 30 days in the last 2 months while we work on relocating to Oregon. The staff, especially Kay and Magnus, are always helpful and accommodating. The housekeeping staff does a great job getting us whatever we need also. The location is very convenient and the prices are good. We have felt very safe here as well. The Wi-fi is good enough to run two kids virtual school without any issues. We will be staying at least one more partial week before hopefully having a permanent place ready! We recommend this hotel to anyone needing a good place in the Portland area.

I picked a near-perfect spot for my first trip to Portland. This place is everything the (positive) reviews have said. Charming, low-key, convenient, cozy, private but with a social/communal vibe. I think it was an especially good place to stay taking my first-ever solo vacation. While it does feel a little strange walking into a house with no one there to greet you (if you get in later during the day) so you feel more like an intruder than a guest, the living room area was very warm and inviting. The welcome e-mail gives you all the details you need to know upon arrival anyway, and it was easy to find my room in the basement. I stayed in the Elliott Smith room for pricing, privacy, and a love for the musician. It had a nice-sized queen bed, antique desk, and was well-lit and simply decorated. While it was less convenient to walk up the stairs to use the restroom off from the kitchen, I didn't find myself having to wait to use it. There are also two other bathrooms upstairs. The clawfoot tubs are neat, but you do have to be careful getting in and out, as they are tall and slippery. It also helps to shower/bathe early in the morning as the hot water seems limited. I decided to move into the Gabriel Garcia-Marquez room for the last two nights of my stay, for a little more space and private bathroom (still very affordable). That room was just as nice, fairly elegant, with a larger king-sized bed, very clean bathroom, and a view of the backyard. The continental breakfast is bagels and pastries laid out on the counter (gluten-free and gluten filled), an assortment of bananas, apples, and oranges, cereal, oatmeal, and coffee ready to go when you wake up. There is juice and dairy/non-dairy milk in the fridge, as well as yogurt. So you've got quick, convenient options. This was also the only time I ever saw staff on the premises, as they were laying out fresh bagels/pastries, cleaning, and doing laundry. So, you don't feel like your privacy is invaded by any means. I just cozied right up in the breakfast nook and enjoyed the cloudy view. I ran into a couple guests in the kitchen, and they were friendly. You pretty much feel like you have the house to yourself. The only time it doesn't feel that way is when people are walking up and down the stairs, as they are old and creaky. But, I never found myself having to knock on doors telling people to keep it down. The location is right in the heart of Division Street, and I lucked out with great weather, so I was within walking distance of plenty of shops, pubs, and restaurants. Hawthorne is just a few blocks away and is a big shopping district as well. Otherwise, from this location, you can catch a Lyft or the #4 bus to pretty much anywhere around town. I can't fault the place for things basically out of their control, e.g. creaky stairs because it's an old house. I can't deduct stars because staff wasn't on the premises, as I was able to figure things out pretty easily (how to get in

I stayed end of July in Room #2- the bed was so comfortable!! All the shared rooms, including the bathrooms, were always neat and clean. The location was very convenient- very close to restaurants, drug/grocery stores, and train station. I got to meet Tim on my check in day and he gave me all sorts of great tips re the city and places to go. Both him and Stephen were patient answering all my questions/emails leading up to my visit. I am definitely going to book with them again next I am in Portland, and I highly recommend them!

The hotel is clean and tidy. Because the luggage front desk is helpful to change the room on the first floor, the parking lot is very convenient. I was traveling with 3 friends from Australia and wanted them to have a unique 'Portland experience'. Tiny Digs really fit the bill! What a fantastic place. There are 8 very different and unique Tiny Homes. I stayed in the Train caboose. The space itself was just perfect. What I really loved and appreciated about it were the small details. As we had reserved 4 of the 8 tiny homes, I was able to have a look inside all 4 of them. The attention to detail is fantastic. We all work in the Hospitality business, and we really appreciated the creative decor and thoughtful touches. All of us were absolutely blown away. There is a central area with an outdoor fire pit, which we only wish we could have used. Unfortunately, we had a very delayed flight, so we did not arrive until close to midnight. Then, we had to depart by 8a. We were all VERY upset that we could not stay longer. So, on my next visit to Portland, I will be returning to Tiny Digs. That I have no doubt. My new plan is to visit with my wife, and either stay for 8 nights, one night in each of the 8 tiny homes. Or, we will be visiting with 7 couples and 'take over' Tiny Digs for a few days. It would be a blast. Can't wait to return, very soon!

Hotel location is very good, the door is the station of Max orange line, just 10 minutes to the Pioneer Square, eating and shopping is super convenient. The room facilities are generally the same, the sound of the indoor air conditioner is relatively large, if you mind, you need to pay attention. There are not many varieties of breakfast, but it is ok. Check in when there is a baked cookie, the Indian brother at the front desk is very good. The front desk service is not bad, any questions are patiently answered.

Stayed here on business with another regular traveler to the area and honestly the food and food service was top notch! That is what sticks out in my mind. Yes it's very close to the airport (and easy to get to), it's clean and modern but the FOOD and FOOD SERVICE was outstanding! We ate 2 dinners and 3 breakfast.....the breakfast (bacon and cheese omelet) was fabulous! There is nothing 'fancy' about the dinning area but the staff in the bistro were super. The gentleman were quick and very friendly and loved to make suggestions. I appreciated the friendly service. If you are looking for a hotel with good food because you don't have a car or can't leave the hotel, this is the place for you.

Breakfast is the least variety I have ever experienced, only square bags, breakfast cereals, milk, yogurt, coffee, tea, no more! As soon as I stepped into the hotel room, the dirty smell of a carpet came out, and the old-fashioned air conditioner was noisy. The floor under the carpet of the room is really too old, and it creaks on the floor and is not flat. Only free parking is more convenient. I don't want to come anymore.

This Motel6 was considerably nicer than I thought it would be. The outside of the building looks more like a financial building or offices of some sort, but the room we had was freshly painted, clean, and very comfortable! Staff was helpful and friendly. The heater malfunctioned the second day we were there and the room got really cold before we realized it on the third day, but one call to the front desk and within minutes she showed up and got it working again! Next time I would request a room that is NOT adjacent to the laundry room (I was in room 114) as the noise from there in the mornings was startling due to loud banging on the walls. We had hoped to sleep in on two of the mornings of our stay but it wasn't possible with all the noise. I love that this motel is really close to the Expo Center and a large shopping center - and I love even more that you don't have to get near the I-5 traffic to get to those places! We had 3 big dogs with us and there was plenty of room for their crates. The best part was that I felt safe. My 13 year old daughter was with me, and I didn't have to worry quite as much about her. With the indoor hallways behind locked doors it was easier to safely manage getting all of our stuff and her inside the room. On top of all of that - this place is very affordable! I will DEFINITELY stay here again in the future!

We were told that smoking was not allowed in the rooms, however, our room smelled like cigarette smoke upon arrival. Additionally, this may not be known by the hotel, but we booked through Hotels.com and had filtered for hotels offering free parking, and the Jupiter came up so we did not realize there was a $15 fee for parking. Related, the trek between the parking garage and the hotel was a bit of a pain (on separate blocks), and there was no clear way to enter the garage when not in your car, so we would key in and walk down the car ramp, which seemed a bit unsafe. Another marketed bonus in our Hotels.com reservation was 2 free drinks upon arrival at the Jupiter, which I assume was not offered due to the bar being closed. Just another hiccup that might be good to clear up for future guests. Overall we liked the hotel space and staff, but we were bummed with the surprises like that smokey smelling room, parking fee (likely just a hotels.com mixup), bar closure, and parking garage difficulties and fees.

Just returned from a trip to Portland and stayed at this hotel. They are finishing up some remodeling and will probably be complete by the time you read this and book a room there. During my stay, there was a little construction noise but the staff made every effort to ensure the quality of service was not affected. If you want to see something amazing, order something to eat in the restaurant. Ashley W. runs that restaurant by herself and does an incredible job. Even with temporary accommodations, Ashley provided top notch service and served good food with hardly any wait. The rest of the staff were all very professional and the rooms are clean. Stayed at a Kimpton property in Austin, TX last year for my wife's birthday and decided to try them out again this year. Booked thru AMEX FHR program - received upgraded room - Fireplace suite. Another reason for the upgrade was to accommodate our couples massage (standard room didn't have enough room for two massage tables). Suite was gorgeous with NW appropriate decor. Plenty of charging stations. Comfy bed. Nice robes. BR w/ 2 vanities. Living area had pull out sofa. Upon check in - two slices of birthday cake and a bottle of red wine awaited on our table. Only used the free FHR breakfast at in house restaurant once - excellent salmon toast and crab omelette. Slow but friendly service. Great riverfront views. Amenity wise - always enjoy the Kimpton Happy Hour - focus on local beer and wine. Light appetizers as well. In the AM there's a coffee bar with tea and cocoa as well. Weather precluded use of the lobby bikes but perhaps one day in the future. On the map, downtown looks far, but it's a pleasant 10 min walk to most things. Of course, walking/running options galore being on the riverfront. Parking is valet only - call from your room so you won't have to wait as long when you get down to the lobby. Thanks for taking care of us!

Stayed here for the night before flying early morning from PDX. I would not recommend this hotel. It is not soundproof. I could here everything that was going on in neighboring rooms. And I would not say that guests in neighboring rooms were excessively loud. I heard conversations, TV, steps, etc. I could not fall asleep. The location of the hotel is awkward and be careful if you try to exit this hotel, as the street are one way. There is not much in the area and especially now with the current situation. I found hotel staff very friendly but not very knowledgeable. I chose this hotel because of the kitchen. I had to leave at 5 AM so I was planning to make my own coffee when I woke up. However, it is interesting that there is no kettle to boil water. The coffee maker can only make coffee in packets supplied by the hotel which is of very poor quality. I had my own coffee yesterday I could not prepare it. When I was leaving this hotel at 5 AM the breakfast of course was not available yet. Probably I would not want it anyway, I hoped maybe coffee would be ready but it was not.

The hotel is in a good location. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to Pioneer Court Square or the river. Taco bell and subway fast food restaurants are nearby. The hotel does not include breakfast, but the big supermarket less than 5 minutes walk can completely solve the problem. The hotel has free parking and the front desk staff are polite. Went to Portland OR September 7 til the 18th. Was visiting my daughter and spent 6 days in the Portlander Inn as I didn't wish to overstay my welcome. I loved this hotel. From registration to checkout I had nothing but a great experience with the staff. They were welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied with my stay. This hotel met all my needs. There is a 24 hour grocery store, a laundromat and movie theater. The hotel offers free breakfast from a limited menu but if you order off the full menu you will receive $6 off the price. Please remember to tip the server off the full price. I made the mistake of adding more food to my free breakfast. There was way too much food. Be prepared. I am returning to Portland in May 2020 and plan on staying there again. If you are expecting a Hilton or other luxury hotel you may be disappointed however if you are looking for a clean place to sleep and shower at a reasonable price then this is the place for you.
