First, the good stuff and the only reason for a #3 average rating. Front desk staff was very nice. The room was very clean. Everything we needed was available. But that's where it stopped. We were in Room 128 which NEVER should have been offered as an accommodation. This room is next to the electrical room and the elevators which ran all night long. Who uses the elevator during the night?????? Never heard noises like this and we are frequent and world-wide travelers. And then it got worst, if you can believe that. On the other side of us was an exit door which slammed in the wee hours of early morning. Bang.....bang.....bang. On and On. Where are people going at 3 a.m. 4 a.m. etc.? I did report our discomfort to the gentleman on duty the next day and he was oblivious to our complaint. I simply stated, ”That room should never be given to any guest” And WE ARE PRIORITY CLUB MEMBERS! Not a way to treat your frequent travelers and ones who stay at this hotel when traveling to Birmingham. PLEASE PLEASE take this room off your accommodation list.

This is one of the Best Western hotels that I have stayed at. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was good. For the price we paid, it was worth it. The hotel is by many restaurants, stores, gas stations once you come out of the hotel. The staff was extremely friendly! This will be our go-to spot whenever we need to stay in Birmingham.

Need a room that was pet friendly to stay for one night and called ahead and was told on the phone it was $74 a night. Once we arrived, they said $92. Despite a sign being out front that said $59.99 a night and when asked about the 59.99 he said it’s $92 after tax. We paid and went to the room to discover no fire alarm, ripped sheets, a bug of some sort on the mattress, dirty blanket and obviously dirty mattress. AC was broke. And see the “pool” in pictures… we went back to get a refund and he said we would be charged $20. We didn’t even argue because we wanted the heck out of there. Not to mention the two guys stumbling around with their shirts off laying on the ground in the back of the parking lot. Seriously would not ever recommend to anyone… it just felt sketchy…

We stopped here for the night unexpectedly when traveling south. (We needed to break up the drive). I was hesitant with COVID, however this place is absolutely immaculate even by my sometimes unrealistic standards. Every staff member I came in contact with was kind & helpful. They’re doing things right here, I will stay without hesitation in the future.

The carpet in our room was stained in numerous places in the both the main room and the bedroom. The window was filthy. The curtain sheers have something on them as well as the couch cushions. The couch slants forward like you are going to tip off the couch. The foot rest is tearing open at the seams and sagging on the bottom. There is a hole in the bathroom wall from the door handle smashing into it. We received an almost empty bottle of shampoo and a tissue box with only a couple of tissues left. There are goldfish crackers in the air conditioner in the bedroom. We paid for breakfast but we never told what time it was served (or given any info about the hotel and there was no info in the room) and when we came down to eat we were told breakfast ended at 9am. Every other hotel we’ve stayed at on our trip breakfast has been served until 9:30, 10:00 or even 10:30. When I filled out the IHG survey, the general manager from the hotel responded that they are sorry they didn’t meet my expectations and will use my comments to coach their team. Nothing in the response indicated that they will be fixing the room.

Everything was great, minus the excessive taxes. There was a $12 county tax added to the bill, along with a city, state, and another ”room” fee.. when is enough, finally enough? The hotel itself is great. Room was nice, although shower could be updated. Marriotts got ya beat in that area.. everything worked. Breakfast was great. Lots to choose from. Would I stay here again? I'd like to, if the price is right, but, the taxes add up quick.

The location was great. All persons I engaged with were exuberant, cooperative, helpful and full of smiles. The breakfast was OK, the Bar was Good. Local amenities were plentiful. This is NOT a walk-around place. There are no sidewalks, no crosswalks and heavy traffic. With all the close amenities, you 90% have to drive, just to get across the street. Poor city planning for people / pedestrians.
