0.9km from The Moon Under WaterAlthough I would love to give a great review as it did look a lovely property unfortunately I had an awful experience. I was pleasantly pleased with a phone call the day before arrival with Matt introducing himself, I felt reassured and relaxed at our choice. Unfortunately that’s where it ended, we arrived as a family of 3 around 20:30 on a Saturday evening, we were given a code to retrieve the key for our room, there was no key in the key box. I went to knock on all the rooms no one was in, there were two contractor vans on the drive way. I tried the door to our room number and it was open, there were beer cans, clothing thrown around, laptop and other personal belongings. I had tried to phone Matt several times, left messages, text, no reply. We were left without a room for the night, our 7 year old disabled daughter who was due her medication was distraught, panic was setting in as we were unable to prepare her for it. We started looking for somewhere else, it took us an hour to find somewhere available as everywhere was booked up due to it being a Saturday night during the summer holidays. The men came back who had our room they were drunk, they had managed to guess the code and took our key. Which sends alarm bells ringing for the security. We were literally stranded. The only place which had room for us was an hour away in a Peterborough, we were tired, stressed and devastated and still no answer from Matt so we made the journey arriving at gone 23:00. I have given it a month before leaving a review as I really hoped all would be resolved. But I still have had no response from Matt, I’ve tried to contact him several times, no refund, no apology, no compensation for having to pay an additional £260 for the hotel in Peterborough, the travel there and back. It has been the worst customer service I have ever come across and so disappointing after such a promising start.
