Cows dogs and goats roam freely around the very narrow ( 6ft approx width) streets that are jam packed full of cafe shops restaurants guest houses and temples.Tired but beautiful architecture from centuries gone by . Wonderful temples and rituals being played out before you eyes . Markets of fresh fruit fish chickens and gifts . But the best of all is the warm welcome almost cosseted feeling you receive from every one . When you first arrive you may look in dismay and wonder why you came but when you leave you will be so glad you visited The Kedareswar B&B is a great place to stay Very welcoming .. they cannot do enough for you Right on the edge of a ghat and in the middle of everything but by 10pm all is quiet for the night Be sure to book a city walk with Vikesh and you won’t be disappointed The sunrise boat trip at 5.30 is worth getting up for and don’t forget the arti and the burning ghat a very interesting and moving experience Varanasi is really a magical place

|3.7km from city centerI had booked this hotel for one AC room (two bed) for Rs 1500/- for two days in Mar 2021 for self and wife. Hotel is providing misleading information to the visitors/tourists in ***y ways. No vehicle, even auto or rickshaw can reach to the hotel. One need to disembark from vehicle and walk for almost 500 m to 800m with luggage to reach the hotel. The lanes are very narrow and full of animals, garbage and poo. For an outsider it is very surprising and unwelcome scene. There was no breakfast facility in the hotel as it was claimed at hotel site forget about its being complimentary one. They want complete booking money advance, that was happily given, so far so good. One night AC did not work. Complaint was made but no repair and no refund for non availability of AC facility, and no complaint register, and no regrets either. Exhaust fan of toilet was not working and electric shock was felt in water tap, due to improper earthing. They were just not ready to listen the complaint as they had already received the money. The room furniture was in pathetic condition. Not even a hanger in the room. On the top the behaviour of the staff was atrocious and abusive. I am sure they must have indulged in such behaviour with tourists in the past. Wish my taxi had not been waiting at nearby Godaulia, I would have called Police or visited Police station to sort out these thugs. Never had such a awful experience in life in a city where I had studied 40 years back. May be time has changed. No staff was wearing even masks even corona pandemic was on.

After doing an extensive research on the Internet and speaking with various vendors we finally came across Baba Guest House. The owner Gopal Jha was extremely polite and helpful with sharing the right information and he also showed us the room via video call. Baba Guest House is conveniently located on Munshi Ghat and all major attractions like Dasashwamedh Ghat & Kashi Vishwanath temple are at walking distance. All the ghats in Varanasi are well connected and you can just walk by them by exiting the guest house. The rooms are clean and comfortable and as this is a family business we experienced a very friendly vibe and Gopal Ji and his family were amazing hosts. We celebrated Holi at the property as they had arranged a small event on their rooftop and it was the best Holi celebration ever. Great location, awesome Wi-Fi speed, safe and secure accommodation. There is a rooftop cafe called Aadha Aadha which serves a decent spread. We totally recommend staying at Baba Guest House for a comfortable and memorable experience in Varanasi.

|3.54km from city centerAt the outset, would say that despite being a +40yrs property, it continues to be popular..... in some cases 2-3 generations have used this a venue for their family functions/weddings. Understand that it would be undergoing renovation/upgradation of its existing infrastructure, during the year ahead, which ought to enhance it's level higher. The only area which needs attention is their restaurant..... basically staff needs to undergo more training to improve their services. Already highlighted to the nice and efficient team under the experienced leadership of their GM (Mr.Pankaj Mishra). A note of thanks to their ***ager Anshu*** Singh, who was ever willing to assist 🙂 Look forward to another stay during the year ahead, which hopefully would be a notch higher. |2.81km from city centerIn the end, the owner was kind and helpful. I was worried because of the bad reviews online. Since it happened to be after the Holi festival, I was a little worried about the situation at the accommodation. As expected, I was told that they thought I was just jumping in on the day, and when I showed them my reservation confirmation form, they said, ”I'll put you in a deluxe dormitory, but would you mind paying me extra?” I can't do it, so I'd like to stay in the dormitory, even if I don't want to sleep on the sofa.'' I pushed through. In the end, I was given a free upgrade and a free bottle of water because the dormitory was dirty and I was sharing a room with the staff. I think the room is good for India, but there were a few mosquitoes. Also, there was no breakfast option on the website, so I think it would be best to stay without meals. It was good for the time being, and I wrote a high rating as a thank you for your kindness, but please note that there were some messes like this in reality.

Nehir boyunca birçok yerel satıcı görebilirsiniz, aynı za***da yerel pazar otele çok yakın. Tesis yetkilisi çok ilgili o aynı za***da sizin tüm biletlerinizi ayarlayabilir. Herşey için çok teşekkür ederim, maymunları benim için öp :)

Also booked a sunrise tour from the hostel which was similarly priced to everywhere else but was a really good experience (guide was excellent). |3.99km from city centerFound De Bougainville on MMT while looking for a stay on a quick solo trip to Kashi. looked nice over MMT, booked, didn't expect much as it was on a very short packed trip. However, surprisingly the property did its best to make me want to come back if I'm ever here again. The young *** at the reception, Wasim messaged back refreshingly when i informed about my later check-in. The place is like a little boutique hotel you would expect to find in Goa or in Dehradun but not exactly in Varanasi. It has cozy rooms, some with a balcony as well. The staff is courteous and will provide RO purified water as ***y times as you need. I drank a lot of it owing to the humidity. any other property would have sold me 7 bottles of mineral water in lieu. This was quite the environment friendly approach of De Bougainville. It has an in-house breakfast and other meals can be ordered from their restaurant just across the street. The property is located on a very clean wide street, probably a residential area in walkable distance from Assi Ghat, where the main Arti happens. I was also shown the way by the staff and it was so nice. One could experience the little bylanes of Kashi and the comfort of a boutique hotel at the same time at De Bougainville. Highly recommended.

Other than that, the facility itself is huge, and it seems that it will naturally become a place for backpackers to interact during the peak season. I wasn't expecting much since it was India and it was in Varanasi, but it was okay. I used it only for a shower and a nap and headed to Delhi on a night flight, but Varanasi is dirty and stinky with the Gandhi River, so it is recommended to use a cheap dormitory for shower use. If you enter the Gandhi River without planning a shower, you should definitely consider it an inpatient course.

1. The location is two kilometers away from the altar of the sacrifice at night, 20 minutes walk. I don't recommend living beside the Ganges because the environment is poor and the traffic is particularly congested.
2 The hotel room is large, the bed is comfortable, and the air conditioning is very powerful. But please ask the room to have windows at check-in
3I ate at the hotel for the two days I stayed. This is a vegetarian restaurant. I tried Chinese fried noodles and Western pizza salads.

Special mention to ever amiable Mr. Uday and Mr. Brahm Kumar. Rooms - Clean and well kept. Thanks to Mr. Fayad, Mr. Dileepkumar and others from House keeping Food - Eclectic & delectable. Kudos to Chef Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Mr. Sandeep, Mr. Sunilkumar, Mr. Abhishek, Mr. Jyothikishan et al. Roof top terrace - Good place to start/wind-down your day with a cup of coffee. Special thanks to Tiwari ji. We got to visit the main temples, had very good darshan, attended Ganga Arti, were introduced to a few good street food joints, and did a bit of shopping as well. Despite being our first time here, everything went like clockwork due to one person - Mr. Sanjay Sahani. He is a very genuine and no BS guy. Overall Mr. Pankaj Mahajan and his team made sure that we had a very pleasant stay. This place would definitely be my first choice, the next time I visit Varanasi.

In fact they are the largest which we seen till now 4) Most importantly the hospitality shown by each colleague was tremendous and didn't feel till now While every colleague has shown warmth and gave their best but to name few, 1) Rhimjhim- Right from the check in to see off she was there with us. Very Helpful and informative. She took care of our kids when we were out for temple DARSHAN, visits etc. 2) Venu- Very polite and attentive to each of our requirement, be it lunch, Dinner or breakfast-for that matter anything else 3) Vikas- While he is heading food & beverages for both the properties but he made sure that at least he touch based 1-2 times with us and enquired about our comfort. In fact 16th December is his Birthday but still he is at the job and enquiring about our well being. Hats off to his commitment levels 4) GM of the hotel- My apologies for not remembering his name but very kind and there for check in & out while he is busy As mentioned earlier, above are the few names which I mentioned here but otherwise every one was so attentive to our needs and helpful. I thank once again all my colleagues for their excellent hospitality and we will remember this stay for our life time. My kids were so nostalgic that they just wanted to be in Varanasi to stay in this property once again. Not sure whether we can make it in the near future but I'm sure they will definitely make it to this property once again when they grow up and will cherish their childhood memories.

|3.2km from city centerI made a last minute reservation for the dormitory space, but they were able to accommodate me. A water server is located in the women's changing room. Everyone is very kind. The cleanliness of the toilets and showers is above Indian standards, and I think it's no different from Japan. There are ***y stalls and shops nearby. Breakfast buffet is good. There are security guards, so safety is high.
